Helpless. Homeless. Gone.

That was our road. And the road is long when you know not where it leads. Over hills and valleys of the earth, and mountains and gorges of the mind it goes on. Further and further, until the legs are tired and the mind is weary of contemplating the next day's journey. The night would come and we would dream of home, until it grew too distant of a memory to dream of, and became some place far at the end of the trail. Still, we pressed on.

We wanted to go home. And for every step closer, we took one step further away from ourselves. We only hope there is something left of those who set out once we return.

This is a serious take on self-inserts and human to pony stories. If you don't like that kind of story, than this one isn't for you. It is the hard work of five writers poured into one story, one song of life with a sorrowful soul. If there is something you don't like, comments help more than downvotes. My express thanks to Kkat for the wonderful story and universe to write in, and to Somber for permission to borrow his canon and shoot it.
