Harmony Rebornby Tryhard McFatfaceChaptersThe New ArrivalAnswers, and a New ThreatPrologueThe New ArrivalJohn awoke to the sound of flames. Not the soft flickering of a fire in the fireplace, the sound of a roaring house fire. Multiple house fires. He tried to get up, but that started a throbbing in his head, and he collapsed. Mustering all his remaining strength, he got up on his knees. What he saw nearly petrified him. A village. Going up in flames. He remembered a technique that could smother a roaring fire, but it took some energy. Energy that John didn't quite have just yet. he decided it was best to wait for the throbbing pain to die down, which it eventually did, thanks to a rather taxing healing spell, and soon he had enough strength to attempt to put out the fires. He set off at a brisk pace, soon breaking into a run. Then a dead sprint. After what seemed like hours, but in reality was about 30 seconds, he had arrived at the burning village. What he saw there was more shocking than the flames. Instead of people, there were small, pastel colored horses running madly through the streets, and some had horns, and some had wings, and they all had unique tattoos on their flanks. Also, they were screaming. They were being chased by what looked like an army of Swiss Cheese had been fused with jet-black versions of the horses (of which he now assumed to be ponies, because of their size and seemingly adult voices, which he confirmed my seeing smaller ponies, of whom he immediately labeled as foals, screamed with children's voices) and insects. They looked menacing enough, though. So John did the one thing he did best. He attacked them. Big surprise, I know Using his techniques, he promptly took down dozens of the creatures, of which had now started to attack him (which slightly relieved him, because it meant that the ponies would be alright) He fired fireball after fireball, swung a magic sword. More and more of the creatures dropped dead before him. Some of the braver ponies stopped to watch, as idle curiosity and awe swept over them as this mysterious, bipedal creature, clad in unusually bland attire, using magic to defeat the swarms of his opponents. Soon, his adversaries wised up, and, because of their sudden drop in numbers, decided to retreat. Seeing an opportunity, John started to gather the energy of the things around him (mostly the ponies, because they were the only living things in the area, besides the creatures, but he didn't want to risk corruption, which occurs when energy is not positive). John worked best with the energy of those with high morale, but since that wasn't the case, he had to make do with whatever positive emotion he could find. Using his signature attack, which he dubbed "The Laser" (which is the magical beam of energy attack) he took down around 75 of the retreating creatures, causing the survivors to not waste a second, and flew off at a speed almost unimaginable. When all was over, the ponies were feeling a mix of emotions. Fear, awe, happiness, curiosity, and a number of others. They also felt rather tired (a side effect of having your energy used). John didn't waste any time. he immediately went to the burning houses, and magically doused them. A foal ran out of one of the houses. It had a burn on it's thigh, but it wasn't serious. A mare, whom I assumed to be it's mother, ran up to it, tears forming in her eyes. She embraced the young foal, before turning to John, and said: "Thank you." That did it. John had become almost certain he was dreaming now. But still, he couldn't forget his manners. "It was no trouble, ma'am." Now all the ponies were staring at him. Chatter went through the crowd. John could make out statements like: "Did it really just speak?" "It can talk?!" But John wasn't going to let an opportunity to commute with the locals, though. John didn't want to waste another second. He wanted answers. And he wanted them now. Answers, and a New Threat"Alright, so what you're saying is, I'm in a world full of sentient ponies?" John sat and stared idly at the pony, who nodded her head. "Do you know how I got here, or have any theories?" "No," the pony said. "But maybe you can help us?" "How?" John asked, clearly confused. "With that skill, you could save Equestria!" the pony replied. "And how, pray tell, can I do that?" "Alright, I'll start from the beginning..." the pony began. "About five years ago, four villains, Tirek, Discord, Queen Chrysalis and King Sombra, defeated our princesses, Celestia, Luna, Cadence and Twilight Sparkle. They are being held in fortresses somewhere in Equestria, but everypony who went to go search never came back," the pony continued. "Since then, we've been living under their rule, and they've cause nothing but chaos, and have made our lives a living Tartarus. The only ponies that could possible save us were the Elements of Harmony. Princess Twilight was one of the elements though, the Element of Magic. With her gone, the other elements, Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity and Loyalty, were rendered useless. They went missing soon after the princesses were captured. Nopony has seen them since." The pony finished, sadness now overtaking her previously serious demeanor. "So, I need to locate and reunite these Elements of Harmony, and rescue the princesses with their help?" John summarized. "Pretty much." "Alright, I'll help you. Can you give me a map? Or anything that might be useful on the journey? Food, Clean water, anything would help." John agreed. "Great! I think there's a map in the abandoned market down the road, but i forgot which stall... and sorry, food and water have been scarce since the incident, and a lot of us have died of starvation and thirst." The pony was on the verge of tears. "I'm sorry." John consoled the pony, noticing her emotions. "Th-thank you..." The pony sniffled. "Please excuse me, but I should begin my journey." "Good luck..." The pony waved him off. John's journey had begun. _____________________ In the Changeling Kingdom, a lone squadron of changelings approached their queen. "My queen, we come bearing news" "Hm? Oh. Alright, what is it?" Queen Chrysalis had been thinking when the changelings came in. "A strange, bipedal creature has wiped out almost our entire battalion. We were the only survivors..." "What?! Describe this creature to me." Chrysalis was surprisingly distressed at that time. "It had to hind legs and two forelimbs, it used it's forelimbs to hurl magic and swing a sword, almost certainly conjured. It was in full clothing, sans the head, and had seemingly no coat of fur." "Ugh, what a strange creature. But I can see this new creature posing a threat. Inform Tirek at once." "Yes my queen!" The changelings flew off, leaving chrysalis to her thoughts. How could one creature take out so many of my changelings? she wondered. Prologue"You never stood a chance." Twilight struggled to remain conscious. She was hurt. Badly. She could feel the blood staining her coat in multiple places, the most prominent one being just above her left eye, partially blinding her with all the blood oozing from it. "Hmph. I'd hate to ruin your fun, but... should we kill her? or let her live, like the other three?" The other princesses, Celestia, Luna, and Cadence, had already lost. They were held in cages, each with an inhibitor so powerful it prevented even the strongest of alicorns from doing so much as levitate a quill. They were worse off then Twilight was, which seemed almost impossible to Twilight. "No. Leave her alive... get another one of those cages." Discord got out the final cage, and Chrysalis grabbed Twilight. Sombra opened the cage. Tirek gave the order, and Twilight was thrust into the cage. That one final crash onto the floor of the cage was enough to make Twilight stop resisting. As she drifted away, she saw visions of towns burning, civilians screaming and running, bodies littering the ground. All because she couldn't stop them. She closed her eyes, for, what she had hoped, was the final time. ____________________ It was an average day. At least, that's how it seemed. John had been born into a special family. His family had the ability to use magic. His parents specialized in combat magic. they taught him how to conjure up weapons and armor, how to create fireballs, at the age of 8. Since then, he had learned how to enchant weapons and armor, create lightning, boost his physical prowess, and even manifest energy into a powerful beam of destructive force (the fine was enough to make John's parents faint). John was on his way home from the empty field he had purchased for practicing on, when he stumbled upon something... strange. It looked almost like a ball of pure energy. He didn't dare approach it, he wasn't an idiot. But you could imagine his surprise when it suddenly developed an extremely strong gravitational pull. John tried to escape, and almost did, but the gravity of the spherical object became more and more powerful, and, eventually, John lost his footing, sending him flying into it. He opened his eyes. He was in nothing more than a void of black. Then, he saw something. A bright light, getting ever closer. He tried to react, but the light was upon him all to quickly. When John woke, he would be in for the surprise of his life.
