The Super Duper Pony Couple
Keep this secret
Previous ChapterNext ChapterApplejack and Spike walked past The Fun Zone. Spike noticed a sign on the doorknob and she read it aloud.
"Dear Party Fellows," she began to read aloud, "ah thank ya kindly fer stoppin' by The Fun Zone. Due to recent events, this is currently, and temporarily, known as, The Done Zone. As in we're not changin' it back until mah friends respect us." Applejack finished up and stared at Spike.
"We have to go tell Twilight!" Spike said as he popped out the first thought that came to his mind.
"No, she's doin' royal duties, and Flash was sent to protect her." Applejack replied defensively.
"Rainbow Dash and Soarin?" Spike said thinking of the next couple in his mind.
"Wonderbolts tour." the orange mare let out a sigh.
"Flutters.." the purple dragon said before being cut off.
"Fluttershy and Discord are takin' over some stuff that Twilight and Flash didn't and don't have time to finish." she said as she kicked a rock in between her hooves.
"Rarity and Fancy?" Spike said letting out a sigh.
"Packin." the cowgirl answered.
"Pinkie Pie?" Spike replied with a shrug. The cowgirl only shot him a glare that read 'seriously?'.
"Spike, we gotta get 'em outta the dumps without revealin the secret. You said it yourself that we have to keep up this hate until we finish the project." Applejack replied retelling what Spike had earlier said.
The dragon nodded remembering what he had said earlier. Both him and Applejack creaked the door to the store open. They walked into a dimly-lit shady zone with all the blinds shut as sunlight barely was able to peer into the store. The store was empty, almost as if it was robbed. Luckily it wasn't that way when Spike read a note saying that all the items were moved upstairs. The colourful pink, blue, and yellow walls seemed a mucky, swamp-like green. The formerly toy-filled shelves were bare and had a few cobwebs here and there. The window had a small crack coming through the middle, and the floor tiles seemed very dirty. If you listened carefully and were silent, you could hear faint sobs and hooves clanking on the ground.
Applejack went and twisted the doorknob that led to the upstairs room, only to find it locked. The clicking of the doorknob echoed in the empty room. Applejack backed up as Spike approached. He took in a deep, big breath, and exhaled in the direction of the doorknob. As he did, fire came along with it. He hoped that it would burn, but instead it just turned hot red and increased with heat.
"How do ya suppose we open it?" Applejack said as she put a hoof on the mahogany door.
"Wait, this is wood, right?" Spike asked dumbly. The cowgirl nodded. "Then let me burn it. I do have fire, after all." Spike said as he puffed out his chest, trying to seem prominent.
Before Spike could do anything, Applejack blocked the door. "Spike, are y'all sure that you should burn the door? We don't know how Cheese and Pinkie will react if we just destroy their property. Besides, the smoke might tell them that we're here."
"Get some water." He said as if he was ordering her. She grabbed a bucket and zoomed to the nearest water supply, and made sure to get a lot. "Now, when I burn it, pour it on the door. We'll clean it up later."
Spike breathed in and let out a huge amount of green fire onto the door. It crackled a bit, then caught a small flame. It took a while for it to fully burn, and that's when AJ poured the water on it.
They creeped up the stairs and were sure to be silent. Spike chickened out, and Applejack told him to watch the empty store. As she walked up the stairs, she heard the sobs getting louder. AJ was met by a oak door. She turned the doorknob. Luckily, this one wasn't locked.
Applejack silently tipped-hoofed on the dark floors, much like the ones downstairs. She walked into the kitchen, where Pinkie was stuffing her face with cake while crying.
"Pinkie Pie..?" She shyly asked her friend.
"WHAT!" Pinkie snapped, fire in her eyes.
"Are y'all ok..me and the rest of the girls, guys also, are startin' to get worried."
"I'm fine." She grumbled.
"You sure 'bout that sugarcube?" The cowgirl said slowly approaching Pinkie.
"YES!"
"Ok sugar, just know, that we are here for ya, and if ya need us, we'll be sure to come." AJ said turning to the living room where Cheese was.
The depressed mare gave a nod. With that, the orange mare turned and slowly approached the living room.
"Cheese?" She shyly said, hiding behind a wall.
"WHAT!" Cheese snapped similar to his soon-to-be bride.
"The guys are worried about cha', the girls, maybe just a little. Just get better soon." Applejack said exiting the room. She stopped after remembering something. "And make sure to clean up a bit around here. It's so dark." She shivered.
Applejack and Spike left The Fun Zone. On the top floor, Pinkie and Cheese looked at each other, then at their friends. As they got an idea, their faces had a sudden glow, but not enough to poof up the manes. they were instantly off and loud construction noises could be heard. And they made sure to lock the doors, not that they had any.
Author's Note
Short chapter. Yes. Is it better than nothing? Yes. Did I give Applejack and Spike a small spotlight scene here. Yes.
Was it fun to write this. Eh.
I will try to promise a longer chapter next!
I also tried to improve on descriptions, especially of areas.
