Fallout Equestria: Protocol 14
Introduction/Prologue thing
Load Full StoryNext ChapterHey there. The name‘s Midnight Scotch. I’d like to say that I’m just a regular unicorn stallion, but I’m not. You see, there are a few things that aren’t exactly…normal about me. Well, if anything is ever normal.
I guess I should start off with the fact that I never got my cutie mark. Had to grow up with all the other colts and fillies making fun of me; in the end, they all had it shoved right back in their smug faces when I woke up one day feeling so mad at my little world, here in “GLORIOUS” Stable 14, that I didn’t realize I’d burst out in song. Turns out I’m pretty good at singing. Although I still didn’t get my cutie mark I did land a job as an entertainer.
What’s left? Oh, right. There’s the little fact that I’ve never really felt comfortable in my own skin; well, that’s almost true, but you’ll find out why later. Lastly there's the icing on the cupcake: I’m one of the few privileged ponies in stable 14 to be orphaned.
Now that you know a little about me I want to tell you a little about Stable 14. You see it’s one of the few stables built to accommodate griffons as well as ponies. Most of Equestria’s griffon population went there before the megaspells dropped, as a matter of fact. They even have their own separate section in the stable. It’ll make more sense once you know how the whole thing is laid out.
You see, there are seven levels to Stable 14. In order from bottom-up they list: maintenance , crops, livestock (because griffons ain’t exactly herbivores), the “Pony floors”, the Celestia Garden, the Luna Garden, and then the “Griffon floors” at top. Remember how I called them levels not floors? There are more floors to Stable 14 than levels.
Let me break it down for you. Starting with, there are two floors for both ponies and griffons; one used as living quarters, eateries, etc. and another (below for ponies and above for griffons) for security purposes. I suppose that Stable-Tec thought it might cause dissension if ponies and griffons were to collaborate on policing methods, and they were probably right.
Anyhow, like the “Living levels” there is more than one floor dedicated to the growing of crops and livestock. If I remember correctly, on the lower floors are the apple and orange orchards and above are the corn fields and berry groves. I must admit I don’t know much about the livestock level, but my friend Gideon told me they have pigs, chickens, and the likes down there. I’ve never really cared for meat, myself.
I’ve heard that the maintenance is just one floor built like a maze, only all the rooms down there hold generators, talismans, and other things like that. It’s nothing too special in stable 14.
There you have it, all you need to know about me and stable 14. Now let’s get this shit started!
