The Before Night Begins (Prologue)
The Before Night Begins (Prologue)
Before The Night begins.(Prologue)
The year was 1987, just a few years after humanity learn of the existences of talking ponies from another worlds or as some call them equestrians. It took many years for people and ponies to find some common ground with one another. But, finally people just accepted them. Their princesses Celestia and Luna were even given seats at the UN.
But, that is not the main focus of this tale. It is just background. In The States was a small town called Applewood a great tragedy was about to strike there. Which involved a young man named Doug, six ponies and curse that destroy all who were sucked into it.
Doug is normal teenager, with normal teenage problems. One of those problems being his mother bugging him about getting a job. It was hard to find job in small town and it was even harder for someone his age. Then one day well he was going through paper. He saw an ad for a night time security guard for the newly opened kid’s restaurant.
He was pretty big guy compare to most, so he could easily look the part of guard. He called the number on the ad. After talking with temp on phone. She did quick interview with him and said he had the job. Which was odd to him most company had you do five sheets of paperwork before you even got an interview. But, surely enough a week later he got his uniform in mail with his name on it.
He was starting today on a Monday night. This job was from 10pm to about 3am. The pizza place closed at ten on most days or at least that is what he was told. He was also told that he would have some help at night from other workers.
After finally getting dressed for his first day at work, he walked straight to the restaurant. Applewood was pretty small town so he didn’t really need a car for anything. He usually just walked place and everyone knew where this kid place was. It was one of the few new things that Applewood had gotten over the last few years. The name of this place always stuck out to Doug for some reason.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. It was such weird name for kids place. The front of the joint looked inviting enough. It had a bright neon sign just above the doors. He swear that you could see that thing from a mile away. He spotted the three main characters on the sign.
Freddy, the lady bird thing and a Bunny. Even on sign they looked a little weird. He sighed as he entered the building. The place smelled of pizza, and small children. The little kids were running around the place playing the games or they were near the stage listening band of animatronics on stage. A cold shiver ran down his spine as he first saw Freddy and the gang. They were giving him all kinds’ hibbie jibbies.
He looked around trying to find manager or someone who was in charge so he could get to work. The woman on phone did say that he would be staying overnight. That was his job as night guard. He saw no one around until he saw a small pony servicing a small party. He guess it was female pony. He had not seen a lot of them around especially not one with rainbow hair and wings. Normally the few ponies around town were earth ponies that had farm lands in area. So it just shocked him a bit to see one with wings.
After she was finished with party she took the empty trays from table and put them in kitchen. She then spotted the young man who just standing at the entrance at the building she slowly walked over to him.
“You the new night guard?” She asked bluntly with what seemed to be a slightly annoyed tone.
“Umm ya that’s me miss…” He said reading her name tag. “Rainbow Dash?” He asked.
“Ya that would be me. What your name kid? I’m supposed to show you around the place. I will also be on guard duty with you on Wednesdays. We have had a lot of people quit the night shift so the big wigs want two people watching the buildings at night. Someone will be here later to help with the watch but, you going to be alone for a bit. Come on I got to show you everything and make sure animatronics know you.” She said turning around.
“My name is Doug. And know me? How can they know me they are just robots?” He asked a bit confused.
She sighed as she kept walking. “They are special they have these fancy A.I. things in them. Don’t ask me pal that more of question for Twilight.” She said calmly as they walked tonight.
“Who Twilight?” He asked
“Never mind just follow me.” She said.
He followed her to the main room that held the stage for band and few scattered dining tables for families to sit at. Kids were sitting near the stage looking up at Freddy as he talked.
“Hey kiddies we have to take small bbbreak now. But, we will be back for some more fun later on.” He said into fake mic as curtains pulled back. It was strange the way he spoke made it sound like he was trying to say something else.
The small mare lead the young man behind the curtains. Which lead them to hidden stage where the animatronics were recharging. Rainbow Dash got up close to machines but, Doug stay back. Up close they were even creepier then he thought.
“Hey guys! Freddy, Bonnie, Chica.” She said as they all looked at her turning their heads.
“This is new night guard. Don’t give him any trouble tonight ok? This is fifth one we have here and I like to keep him so I don’t have to be here so much.” She said pointing to him with her hoof.
The bots just stared at him saying nothing. This stare was not like anything Doug has seen. Rainbow Dash just sighed as she turned around. “Great just scare the guy away.” She muttered as she walked back off the stage. “Come on newbie I got to show you more.” She yelled.
They kept staring at him until left the stage. He was already getting more freaked out and place this had not even gotten dark yet. The mare lead Doug to back of the building through what seemed to be a repair shop area. As they walked through the area Doug noticed two bots that were just laying on ground.
One of them looked like a fresh corpse that picked clear by scavengers. It looked kind of like bonnie but, it was missing face and an arm. A few feet away from that one was fox looking bot. It had hook for hand and eye patch. Some kind of pirate themed bot he guessed.
“Don’t worry about those they barely move if at all. They are mostly used for parts. There is supposed to be three of them but, one of them is not here…huh. Maybe they using that one for parts. I really hope that is the case that one even freaks me out.” She stated calmly as she kept moving. Doug was hoping that was the case as well because he didn’t want to meet the one that freaked her out.
They walked into what looked like gifted shop area that was filled with toys near the counter was a large green present. As they walked into room Doug heard strange sound coming from speaker it was the sound of music box playing.
“What is that?” He asked
“Ooo that just to make sure one of the bots does not freak out on us. We tried turning it off once but, the thing went nuts and screamed bloody murder. So we keep it on, plus the kids kind of like tune. This is where the kids get prizes for tricks they get from the games. If you ever have to work a day shift you will probably be in here making sure no one takes anything.” She said
He nodded as they moved on. She led him back to the repair room before making left down this dark hallway. It lead to an open room with no doors. It had small desk with papers all over and few monitors that showed difference parts of the building.
“This is the security office. This where you will be at nights. All you have to do is seat here and watching the building. Your shift starts went I lock up building for night. You got some keys in the desk and like I said before you will have someone helping you tonight. But, they won’t get here till much later. You will be alone for a few hours.
Don’t worry the head guard will call you tonight and explain everything. You will do just fine pal so don’t worry. There are some sodas and few snacks in that tiny fridge over there. Take what you want it is open to staff. I got to go back to kiddies now. Just watch the monitors for now. When everyone is gone I will wave at the camera and lock the main doors. At that time the chief should call ya with what to do at night. Alright?” The mare said.
He nodded as he sat down in the old chair. She exited the room and went back to work. He watched monitors for about an hour. Most of the people left the restaurant before the staff did. Rainbow Dash turn off everything and waved to camera before locking him in.
That is when the phone went off. It was the start of the first night at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
Night One: This Is Not A Game
Night One: This Is Not A Game.
Doug found himself alone. He let out a nervous sigh as the phone rang. It made him jump a bit as he shook his head. He was jumping at a phone ringing this was just getting stupid at this point. Nothing was going to happen or that is what he told himself anyway. He knew this but, well ever since he was kid had an over active mind that always made him think something bad was going to happen. He finally calmed himself down and hit the button on the phone.
“Hello, Hello. Glad to hear we finally have new guy on the night shift. I really hope you will stay on. We have already gone through four people at this job. Anyway, I am going to be giving you some instructions about the night shift.
The first thing I should tell you is sometimes the animatronics wonder around at night. Sometimes they think it is day time and they need to be entertaining kids so they go around looking for someone to entertain, and seeing how you only one around they may come visit you. If they do just tell them to go back to their stages for the night.
But, if they start acting weird or they don’t listen. I suggest putting on that Fazbear’s head on the desk and playing dead. The reason I say this is because sometimes the machines will mistake guards for naked exoskeletons and try to…well stuff them in suits which can end in some….discomfort. But, don’t worry you should be fine. I would suggest to you however, to stay in office. Unless you think something wrong.
The less interacts with the machines you have the better your job will be. Also another small warning your mask won’t work on Foxy. I am not sure if you saw him when you came in. He is pirate looking one. If you see him your best bet is to flash a light in his eyes. It will reset him and he should run away. He has not been that active in quite some time so you shouldn't have to worry about him.
That covers just about everything. You should have some help soon-ish but, you will be alone for a few hours. Just keep and an eye on everything until help comes. Good luck.” The man on phone said as he hung up.
Doug was a bit confused about what he had just heard. Did this guy like pulling pranks on the new guys or something. Because all of these so called “ instructions” were just plain silly. Bots stuffing people in suits was the lamest thing he had ever heard in his life. He shook his head a bit. He hoped his so called help wouldn't try to scare him as well.
He shrugged off the “instructions” and just watched the monitors. For about a good 40 minutes nothing happen everything was still and quiet. He watched the monitors as he opened a can of soda he got from the small fridge. He scanned over to the monitors that over looked the main entrance to the building. The camera scanned the whole room. He watched it for a moment as yellow blur rushed across the monitor.
“What the?” He asked himself as he sat up putting his drink on the wooden desk. He looked closer at the monitor as he thought he saw some shadows moving. He raised an eyebrow. He was a little bored so he thought he check out what was going on in room. Plus he feel bad if on his first night something happen to the place. He grabbed his flashlight from the desk and walked out of the room.
He walked out into the hall as the flashlight beamed out onto pirate bot. “Eeeee.” He said looking at the pirate bot on the floor. It was even creepy when no one else was around. He walked passed it as quickly as he could. As he then entered the dining room. He flashed the light seeing the three robots on stage. They looked okay to him they didn't even notice him as he walked over to door.
He grabbed the handle and shook it a bit. The door was still locked and all windows looked fine so he wondered what he saw. Maybe it was just rat or something. He shrugged it off and turned around when all sudden he saw nothing but brown in front of him. He nearly jumped out of skin as he looked up seeing Freddy’s ugly mug. Freddy was looking down at him with a death stare. After calming down he looked at the large thing. He never noticed how big Freddy actually was.
“Jesus Freddy. You scared the crap out of. Look there are no parties around or kids. Look around the whole place is dark. I was just checking the front door because I thought saw something.” He said slightly annoyed as he brushed passed the robot shaking his head.
“Jeez this place is going to give me heart attack.” He said as he tried to walk forward but, found himself oddly stuck in place. He tried to move forward but, again it was completely fruitless. That is when he felt a sharp pain on his left shoulder. He cocked his head a bit looking at a cold fuzzy hand on his shoulder grabbing it roughly.
“What in the world do you think you are...” He said turning around looking up at Freddy.
Freddy opened his mouth as he let out hellish roar that echoed through the shop. It was a roar that sound like a mixture of an animal dying painfully and a child screaming his head off. It was one of the most terrifying thing his ears has ever heard.
“Holy MOTHER OF SATAN!!!” He shouted swing his flashlight at the giant bot hitting it in the head which threw off guard enough that it released him.
He ran, faster then he had ever ran before. He was a big guy. He didn't do a lot workouts or anything so running was a bit new to him. What was worse is that he left his flashlight back with the death bear and he was sure as hell was not going back for it. He ran through the darkness hoping he was going the right way.
Luckily for him, his eye caught the light from the office. He rushed to it like drug addict looking for another hit. He was panting when he entered the well lit room. He held his knees as try to caught his breathe. He was trying to collect himself as heard something break through the silent.
A thumping sound was coming towards him. He looked back into the darkness as cold sweat washed over him. Something was coming towards the room. His mind went into overdrive trying to remember what the guy on the phone said to do when the machines started acting like this. His brain was fuzzy and he couldn't think straight until he looked up seeing the bear head on the desk.
He raced into the seat putting the head on and slumping down into the seat letting his limbs go numb. The sound stopped as Doug held his breathe as long as he could. Freddy had entered the room and was looking deep into the eyes of the mask. The lights flicked as Freddy stood in the room. He didn't stare back, just kept looking forward. Freddy just stood there looking at him. He was struggling to hold his breathe.
Thoughts races through his head. Was this the end? Was he going to end up stuffed in a suit? What were these things? It was about to burst out of his mouth as he need to breathe. Then just like that Freddy was gone. He choked as he grasped for air sucking it in like it was going out style. He patted himself down to make sure everything was still attached to his body.
Other then lack of air and the small pain in his shoulder he was fine physically. Mentally he wanted to run out of this building screaming like a little girl. But, that meant walking by Freddy again alone and that was not happening anytime soon. He took the head off and put in on the desk. He was still trying to take all of this in. He rubbed his forehead wondering what kind of job he had gotten himself into. He was already thinking about quieting. He just had to survive this night. Then he would be home free like those other four.
As soon as he thought he was in clear, he heard it. The sound of footsteps echoed once more.
