The Orange Mare stood upon the hill as she watched the bright orb of light rise up into the sky. It was finally apple bucking season. This was the best season of the year in her opinion.
Applejack and her brother went off to buck their halves of Sweet Apple Acres to prepare the apples for selling. As she was walking, Applejack came across a tree that looked different than all the others. She couldn't quite put her hoof on what was different though. She bucked it once. Nothing. Twice. Still nothing. She turned around to she if there were any apples in the tree but when moving her head around, she saw Fluttershy wearing a blue waistcoat and rabbit ears. She was dressed just like a white rabbit. Fluttershy was muttering something about being late for something.
Applejack went over to Fluttershy to investigate but when Fluttershy saw her she squeaked and ran away as fast as she could "Fluttershy wait!" yelled Applejack. She was gasping for air chasing Fluttershy deep into the orchard. Suddenly, Fluttershy disappeared down a small hole at the base of one of sweet apple acres biggest trees!
Applejack was just about to go back to bucking trees when she slipped on the soft earth around the hole and fell into a deep pit of oddly arranged things like pianos and shelves. Finally, Applejack landed on a black and white checked floor with a chandelier hanging from the floor. Applejack soon realized she was sitting on the roof!
With a sudden and unexpected return of the forces of gravity, Applejack fell to the real floor and saw that she was in a circular room surrounded by doors of many sizes. All of which were locked.
In the center of the room there was a round table with a violet colored liquid in a bottle with a label on it saying "Drink Me". There was a small key beside the bottle.
The Orange Mare picked up the key and unlocked the smallest door in the room but she was too large to fit through it. The bottle! As a test she drank some of the liquid from the bottle and the second she did she began to shrink until she was only as big as a bucket of apples.
Galloping over to the door Applejack tried to open it but it was yet again locked. She went over to the table and found a small box with some sort of cake inside labeled "Eat Me". The Orange Mare did just that and she grew, and grew, and grew until her head hit the ceiling. "What in tarnation is goin' on here?" Applejack thought aloud. She then realized what she had to do so she grabbed the key, drank the liquid and galloped over to the door stepping over the threshold into an even stranger and more mysterious world.
Once stepping through the door she was immediately snatched up by Snips and Snails. They were wearing brown and white striped overalls with red suspenders but they were a lot fatter than usual. "Let go o' me!" shouted Applejack but the two nincompoops completely ignored her and kept dragging her along the ground.
After a minute or so they reached a garden filled with giant talking roses and other strange creatures. There was a mouse that looked like Sweetie Belle, a chicken thing that looked like Scootaloo and a rabbit just like Fluttershy that she chased through the orchard.
"Were in Equestria am ah?", asked Applejack. As soon as Applejack said that she immediately regretted it because now all eyes were on her.
"Flutter Twist!" said an extremely squeaky and annoying voice that came from the mouse like Sweetie Belle. "You brought the wrong Applejack again!" The expression on her face was very grumpy an annoyed. "I'm sorry" said Flutter Twist.
Everyone turned around to face Applejack. "She's smaller than what I imagined" said The Chicken like Scootaloo. On that note everyone nodded in agreement. "Sweetie Belle whats goin' on 'ere" asked the tiny mare. "I'm not called Sweetie Belle. I'm MaliumpBelle!" The annoying voice was back squeakier than ever.
"You are the wrong Applejack so unless Twabslam has something to say about it, you're the wrong Applejack!!"
"Who's Twabslam and how how can I be the wrong Applejack? I'm the only Applejack in Equestria!" screamed Applejack. "I don't know whats goin' on with everypony but it sure ain't normal so if you don't mind me askin', why the buck am I here?!". Everything fell silent and the only thing you could hear was the the orange mare's heavy breathing. All eyes looked at her with stone expressions. Applejack had never been so confused in all her life.
"Take her to Twabslam"!
The walk was long and boring. The fact that Applejack was tiny meant that one of her steps only equaled one quarter of her normal steps. They stopped at smoky area covered in massive blue flowers. Two of the flowers suddenly moved on their own to the side, revealing a purple caterpillar with the head of Twilight! The caterpillar was smoking out of an old wooden pipe and was wearing a monocle. "What brings you here?" inquired the caterpillar. Applejack realized that this must be Twabslam!
"Flutter Twist brought back another Applejack from Equestria. We have come to see if she is the right one" said Maliump Belle.
Twabslam lent over Applejack, taking in every single detail of her tiny body. "Do you remember us?" asked Twabslam, determined to to get answers.
"I have no clue who any of y'all are or were ah am", replied Applejack. Twabslam chuckled. "She's not hardly Applejack", she said while disappearing back into the smoke.
"I knew it!" shouted Maliump Belle. "She doesn't even look like her!"
Applejack was truly puzzled and a little bit frightened. She opened her mouth to speak but before she could utter one word, a terrifying roar came from the distance...
The trees fell and the flowers crumbled beneath the claws of the creature waiting behind the flowers of blue. With one last roar it broke through the flowers into the courtyard of smoke, sending everyone fleeing. "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! IT'S THE GILDASNATCH!!!" shouted the chicken thing. Applejack was dazed and puzzled. She didn't know were to go or who to follow, so she just decided to run. Run into the darkest part of the forest, hoping that it was the right way. It was then that she realized this is just a dream. "This is just a dream" she started repeating to reassure herself. "This is just a dream".
The creature grew closer. She could see it now. It had the head of one of Rainbow Dash's old friends Gilda while the body was large, white and covered in black spots. "What are you doing stupid mare!?" shouted Maliump Belle. The creature was just about to reach her when Maliump Belle jumped on top of the creature and use a small pin she had on her dress to stab the creatures eye and pull it out of the socket. Applejack wanted to Hurl. "Run stupid girl!" shouted Maliump Belle. So Applejack did. Deep into the dark forest until she was certain that she lost them but in the process she had also lost herself.
"Lost?" said a strangely familiar voice from one of the trees. "Rainbow Dash?" asked Applejack. She looked around but she couldn't find Rainbow Dash anywhere. "I'm not Rainbow Dash. I'm Cheshire Dash silly girl". Rainbow Dash appeared on the tree right in front of her. "Now, are you lost or what?".
Cheshire Dash looked basically the same to Rainbow Dash but instead of pony ears she had cat ears and her eyes had a long thin pupil instead of a round one. "Uhh ah am lost ah think", said Applejack. "You can't think you're lost silly filly. You either know where you are or you don't. So which is it?". "Ah am", said Applejack sadly. "I just wanted to keep walking to find the Celestia in this world so she could ask her to make this weird dream end". Cheshire Dash stared at Applejack, "I'll take you to the Pink Hatter and her two friends, The Mac Hare and Maliump Belle. She'll know what to do with you".
After a small walk they reached a windmill. Beneath the windmill was a table covered in all manner of tea cups and tea pots. Sitting at the table was Big Mac with ears of a hare, Maliump Belle and Pinkie Pie wearing a strange hat with the number ten on it and peacock feathers. Applejack assumed this creature to be The Pink Hatter. As soon as Applejack stepped into view the laughing coming from the table suddenly stopped. The Pinkie Hatter stood up and stared at her. "Applejack!! You're back!" she said with the biggest smile that Applejack would have ever seen on Pinkie. If she was Pinkie that is.
"Calm down Hatter. She's the wrong Applejack" said Maliump Belle but despite the fact that she said that the Pink Hatter kept on smiling at Applejack. "She is the right Applejack. I would remember her anywhere"! Pinkie's smile kept on growing and growing until it went from one ear to the other. "But Hatter Twabslem said that she was not hardly Applejack and Twabslam knows everything!"
Applejack grew more confused by the second. How could she be the wrong Applejack? Where was she? How did she get here? And what happened to her friends?!
Applejack opened her mouth to speak then she heard a howl come from the woods were she emerged only a few seconds ago. As soon as the tiniest bit of red came into sight The Mac Hare jumped up from his seat, onto the the table and hid behind Cheshire Dash. "I'm out of here!" Cheshire Dash said before disappearing out of sight.
"Drink this" The Pink Hatter said, while shoving the same liquid that made her small down her throat and shoving her into a teapot!
"Let me out o' here!" shouted the tiny mare. She was now only the size of a salt shaker and she felt really sick. Not only because of her size but the smell of curdled milk and old ground up tea leaves was so intense that she had to force herself not to vomit.
The howl repeated as she heard footsteps not unlike a horse's but also like a dog's small pita-patter. The sound was creeping around below the table. "You're late for tea!" yelled The Mac Hare, follow by the sound of a shattering tea cup. Suddenly the teapot was nudged and Applejack was shaken from side to side. Her skull cracked against the china and she lost her balance, collapsing into a heap on the bottom of the teapot. Her vision started swimming in and out of focus but she stopped just before she heard The Pink Hatter whisper to the dog, "Down with stupid crystal flank". Then the dog barked again and ran off in a different direction. The Hatter finally let her out of that teapot prison and back into the strange world she was yet to find a name for.
Applejack looked at Hatter, only to see a crazed look in her eyes that scared her as much as it seemed normal. "I'm going to take you to the White Cheer Queen" said the Pink Hatter, placing her hat on the table and picking up Applejack to place her on it. After doing so she began to walk through the forest. The Hatter's smile still remained while walking half way through the forest until they reached a clearing and her smile faded into a dark look of horror. Her hair flattened a bit, she took her hat off and looked down at Applejack her hair flattening a bit by bit until it was completely flat. The look remained as she turned to leave, forgetting completely about Applejack.
