Description: Months after Trixie fell away from the Spotlight because of her highly fabricated "Story", her carriage breaks down close to Appleloosa and she has to stay in the town for a weekend whilst Braeburn fixes it. With all of Equestria knowing she is a fake, will anypony give her a chance to correct herself, and which pony goes one step further than everypony else? TrixBurn Fic!
Author Note: This Fanfic was wrote to kickstart a newly created shipping of The Great and Powerful Trixie and Braeburn. I'm hoping it will give inspiration to other writers and possibly expand the horizons of the TrixBurn, and convince others to give Trixburn a chance and more Importantly to write TrixBurn fanfiction. Honestly, this is the first TrixBurn Fanfic that I've seen... Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you like my fanfic!
Breaking down, cracked, broken goods. What is Trixie at this moment, how does she get past the crack, jump over the crevice that's holding her back, simple, she can't. She needs somepony, there for her, part of her wanted to call out to Braeburn, even though she didn't know him, just for the chance he might comfort her, and help her. But her ego was stopping her, as tears jerked down her face, quietly as she looked at the curtains. Tears jerked down her face, they dropped like raindrops from the storm-cloud strewn sky in to an Abyss of nothing. Abyss, that's a wonderful word to describe where Trixie was then, an Abyss. She was nowhere, she had cracked, she wasn't there right now, and she wasn't gone, thus she was nowhere, an Abyss...
She was still there though, she just thought she was gone, her Ego was starting to fall away from the pony which it clung to like Icicles sticking to a cave wall in the Antarctic, It stripped slowly, piece by piece like an old building, crumbling, and falling, all the while something new is forming to take its place. She sat up, and tried to say his name, she tried to say Braeburn's name, but she just couldn't as much as she tried, she needed him right now, but she couldn't bring herself to call him, she fights with herself mentally, to take control, to say his name, slowly she was winning this fight...
"B-b-b-br...", she breathed, as she cried, she tried again, "B-b-b-brae... burn", It came out as a little whisper. She tried again and again, until she could do it, loudly, "Braeburn" Trixie exclaimed loudly. Braeburn walked in minutes later and saw she was crying, he walked over to her Instantly without any doubt.
"Miss, are you ok?", asked Braeburn, as he wiped some of the tears away from her. Trixie shaked her head, and Braeburn nuzzled her, on the bed, as she cried. Trixie was too weak to even say another word, nuzzled in to him, she felt happy. She felt loved, even for a second, he was there for her when she needed it and she was more than grateful.
For hours, they lay there, and then, Trixie finally had the power to speak again, everything finally returned to her, "The gre-", she stopped and started speaking again, "Trixie... Trixie has been the subject of abuse for months, name calling, throwing rotten vegetables, snickering and laughing at me. I think I finally cracked, Braeburn. I think I need somepony here for me... I want you, to be here for me, whilst I am here..."
"Oh, miss. You shouldn't have to suffer that... I-It's horrible, how long has it been happening for?", asked Braeburn, as he nuzzled in to her, as the sun started to set over Appleloosa, the light in the room slowly reduced, but it was still light enough to see without lighting.
"About 3 months, I'm not totally sure though, I've lost track of time, It feels like forever since I've had a normal day like I used to...", said Trixie as she nuzzled in to Braeburn, she still cried a little.
"Don't cry, I'm here for you. I'm not going to let you down. Tell you what, I'll go down and get some Apple pie with cream for you from the freezer, that always used to cheer me up...", said Braeburn he laughed and then clambered out of bed, and walked through the bedroom door, downstairs. Trixie was now in that same room again, but everything was different, the room felt alive, It didn't feel empty as it did before, It felt like it was full. She didn't feel sad at all, she felt full of life, she felt like she could take on the world, she felt like she did all those months ago, she didn't want to lose that feeling again.
So, trixie made a promise to herself, "I promise I'm not going to leave this town, this is my new home, Braeburn will love and care for me. I can get my life back, as a magic showpony, with him, as my guide, my love...", thought Trixie, as she looked around the room, she made the promise to herself. By this time, Braeburn had entered the room once more, and had two plates of apple pie and cream, he slightly nuzzled Trixie, and she turned around, and she smiled.
"Some apple pie and fresh whipped cream", Braeburn gave her the plate which was for her, with a spoon. Trixie took it and started to eat as she smiled, she ate slowly, until every bit of pie and cream was all gone, Trixie then placed the plate on the table next to the bed, and looked at Braeburn.
"Braeburn, can I ask you something?", asked Trixie, as she stretched and looked in to Braeburn's eyes, whilst she nuzzled him.
"Sure, miss. What is it that you want to ask?", asked Braeburn, as he also nuzzled in to her, as he wiped the few remaining tears away from under her eyes and gave her a kiss on the head.
"Braeburn, would you mind. If I, stayed here? After the carriage is fixed... like... I think you are what I need, somepony to take care of me, your what I need right now." said Trixie, as she smiled and looked at him as he kissed her head.
"Miss, I don't see any trouble with that, other than the townsfolk. But in time, I think you can get their trust with time, and convincing them you have changed. This spare bedroom will always be spare, I live alone. you can stay here for as long as you need..." said Braeburn, as he nuzzled Trixie again and smiled. Braeburn snuggled in to Trixie, so her head was above his at an angle.
Trixie nuzzled Braeburn's head as he placed it close to hers, she then closed her eyes, as she nuzzled her face in to his fur and yawned. Trixie fell asleep, only to wake up the next morning, to find braeburn not snuggled in to her. She looked around, and got up, she trotted to the bathroom, to use the toilet, brush her mane and have a wash. Once she was done, she walked in to see braeburn sat on the bed with breakfast for them both, she sat back on the bed, and smiled.
"Good Morning, Miss. How was your sleep? Mmmmh, I think my fur is a mighty comfy substitute for a pillow", teased Braeburn, as he smiled.
Trixie smiled at Braeburn, the smile turned in to a smirk, a teasing and playful smirk. She bent over the food towards him and smiled, whispering, "Mmmmh, If you want me, you'll have to play harder than that...", Trixie kissed his ear as she whispered and counter-teased him, they both blushed. Braeburn was speechless, but he smiled.
Trixie began to eat the food on her plate, and Braeburn did the same, they were both finished at around the same time. "I'll do the dishes, you relax a little more..." said Braeburn as he cleared up. Trixie nodded and laid down on the bed, Braeburn walked downstairs, he knew this would give him some time to think about recent events, but most Importantly, how and why Trixie teased him romantically...
He started to clean up the dishes, as he looked around, he started to think, about trixie, he tried to reach a decision whilst she was upstairs, asleep. "I don't know what to do, would it be right to do have that kind of... relationship, with somepony like her, somepony who most of Equestria detests, because of a little lie she made?", thought Braeburn, as he washed more dishes whilst he thought more...
"Was it really her fault, well yes. but, was her secret harming anypony... No! The journalist ponies, they blew it all out of proportion, what she did was never as bad as what got spread around equestria, with the news... I can tell!", thought Braeburn, as he dried some of the dishes whilst he thought more...
"I can tell, she may of been a bragging show-off style of pony, but that was her shell, Inside is a more caring pony, one that's been wanting to get out for a long time. Maybe in some way, I helped her, she cracked and I was there to put the pieces together, to glue her back together! But does she really want more from me? I'd be ready for something like that, I've been waiting for a mare for a long time, but... the question is, is she ready for something like that? Is she rushing in to it, that is my worry...", thought Braeburn, as he finished drying the dishes. Braeburn placed the dishes in the cupboard and turned on the kettle, after it was filled with water.
"I think I'll talk to her more, try and pry some more Information, try and figure out if she is ready for something like this, see if she prepared. I'm going to have to make a plan, I'll ask her about her past, see what she can tell me, ask her what she sees in me, and other things like that, I don't want her to rush in to something that she isn't even ready for", thought Braeburn, as he poured two cups of tea and took it upstairs, he walked in to the spare bedroom.
After Braeburn placed the cups of tea on to the tabletop next to the bed, Trixie got up and looked at Braeburn, "Mmmh, was your thinking period helpful, Braeburn?" asked Trixie.
Braeburn looked shocked and sat on the bed, "H-how did you know about... that?", asked Braeburn as he looked at Trixie, his face covered with a mixture of confusion and fear!
"Oh, I can tell when somepony needs time to think, that's why I didn't insist to do the dishes myself, you needed time to think, so, what was it about, Braeburn?", asked Trixie, using the same smirk that she used before!
Braeburn looked at trixie, and was speechless for minutes, finally, he spoke, "T-trixie, I need to ask you some questions, I need to know things, to know if your ready for anything between us, I need questions answered, to put myself at ease. I don't want you to rush in to anything, I want us to share our pasts, and everything we can, can you do that?", after Braeburn spoke, Trixie looked at him for minutes, silence, with her face covered with a tiny bit of fear, she stayed motionless whilst Braeburn looked worried, after several minutes, Trixie nodded.
