Dragons Fire

(Mid Afternoon a couple days later)

Walking through the town Victor was lightly whistling differing tunes as he made his way over to Rarity's house/business to help with a project of hers he was dressed in a loose plain white T-shirt and black cargo pants. Turning a corner he rolled his neck feeling a satisfying pop go through his neck sighing in relief he let his mind start to wonder to a subject that had been coming to light in his mind recently 'Maybe I should tell them the truth about what I am.' sighing he rubbed his eyes after the thought he knew that if he wanted to earn their trust he would have to tell them and he knew who he should divulge that secret to first and that was Rarity after all she trusted him with a secret of her own.

(A couple days earlier)

Sitting in the shop Victor felt slightly uncomfortable looking around he saw many beautiful looking clothes and dresses strewn across the room earlier that day Rarity had called him saying she needed to talk to him about an important matter. So immediately making his way to the house he was met with a few heavy items for him to move and the promise of some cakes after helping her move many of the items he was told to sit in the waiting room while she had gathered the food and beverage's, hearing the clattering of plates he turned to see Rarity making her way in holding a couple of plates while levitating some tea and cakes setting them down on the table she smiled to Victor and said "Well here you are darling I hope you enjoy this, so how has your day been ?"

"Pretty good got to help you with some work and now I'm getting food."

"You're a stallion of simple tastes now aren't you deary ?"

"Yep I mean I'm not exactly used to this kind of treatment back home."

"Yes well you should get used to it here we will treat you right."

"I know Rarity I know.........."

"So Victor what is it that you don't want to talk about when ever me or the girls bring up your old life ?"

"Rarity its just that my old life wasn't the best and its something I would rather be put behind me."

"I understand that darling but we all have something like that and friends can help put those demons to rest if you let them."

"What do you mean by that ?" Victor asked raising an eyebrow at the unicorn mare sighing she looked down to the side her eye brows slightly furrowed one of her hands on her side she suddenly stood up moving to sit beside Victor causing him to stiffen slightly looking up at the ceiling Rarity said "You Victor I trust you I think of you as a very dear friend."

"I know but what-"

"So I think I'll let you know something about me, you see years before I moved here I used to live in the big city Canterlot to be specific you see my parents are wealthy entrepreneurs and after I suggested making that they leaned me some money so i could start my own business and I was doing rather well with the business for a few years."

"Okay ?"

"And it wasn't till around four or five years ago I had decided to leave that awful city and none of the girls know the reason why I chose to live in this small town but you see one night I was staying late in the shop when a stallion broke in not realizing I was there working late so when I heard the noise I went to check only to see him walking in wearing a mask over his face-" Rarity took a deep and shaky breath before she continued "- he attacked me when he knew that I knew he was their cutting me on my left side I fell to the ground bleeding rather badly screaming and at that point he had decided to try and.......try and-" at that point Rarity had stopped her story covering her mouth with her hand eyes screwed shut.

Reaching out his hand Victor wrapped it around her and brought her into warm hug whispering softly to her "It's okay." after a few minutes she let out a light hiccup pulling away she sniffled and said "But he didn't do it but mostly because a guard had heard the commotion and stopped him in time, I was then sent to the hospital to treat my wounds which from being stabbed and held down I walked away from that confrontation a little less than okay but after that incident I left the city and moved out here to a small town for safety."

"Rarity why are you telling me this ?"

"because I trust you and there's one other thing I need to show you." standing up she stepped in front of the man lifting the left side of her shirt up to reveal a slightly large scar that went down diagonally to her hip it was around two maybe three inches staring at it Victor reach out and gave the skin a light touch feeling the slight deference in the feeling "I usually keep it hidden with magic because of the shame it carries."

"What shame ?"

"Victor It's an-" Before Rarity could even begin the sentence Victor shot up towering over the mare glaring down at her growling lightly he said "I may not understand what you went through Rarity but let me tell you this I will always be in your corner as a friend and this scar well..." Victor drifted off lifting up his own shirt showing off a few of the scars that he had gained over the years "... I think we all have scars we want to hide."

Staring at a few of the scars Rarity looked over his stomach and abs staring at the criss crossing lines she began to move down only to notice that he was missing something.......a belly button. Looking up at him she smiled and gave a slight nod blushing from realizing that she had been staring looking up at him she motioned for him to lean closer doing so Rarity gave him a quick peck on the cheek and whispered "I hope you can keep this a secret between us and can trust me a bit more."

(Present time)

Reaching Rarity's house Victor knocked on the door a couple of times and waited for a response it took a few minutes but soon the door was opened to reveal the purple haired unicorn looking up at the dragon hybrid smiling she said "So how are you doing today ?"

"I've been good today Rarity I actually came to talk to you about something."

"Oh and what's that ?"

"Is it alright if we make our way inside and discuss ?"

"Uh.......sure just follow me inside." Rarity said motioning him inside smiling at her he made his way inside minding the door frame making their way into the den both sat down at the coffee table looking up at Victor Rarity smiled at him and asked "So Victor what are you wanting to talk about ?"

"The truth about me Rarity you know what I am and where I come from I want to come clean to you."

"What about the others ?"

"Rarity I'll tell them in my own time but you shared something sensitive with me and I feel that because of that I can-"

"Victor I understand what your saying but If I somehow forced this out of you I apologize you-"

"NO Rarity your trusted me you basically treated my like one of your friends you put your trust into me with your story so I'm gonna do the same all I ask is it stays between the two of us."

"Ok Victor I won't tell a soul I PInkie Promise." Rarity said going through the motions of the promise making Victor giggle slightly after wards she said "So what is it you wished to talk about ?"

(An hour later)

Rarity stared at Victor slightly shocked about what she just learned staring down at her hands she noticed that she had gripped her dress in her fist and she was white knuckled taking a deep breath she relaxed a bit letting go of the dress she stood up and said "Victor I'm sorry for your past and............I feel terrible for making you tell-"

"Rarity you didn't force me plus it wasn't all bad I mean some of the scientist were nice I was feed and clothed-"

"Victor they treated you like an animal from what you told me they didn't show you any love and and-" Rarity couldn't find the word but she ended up giving Victor a hug saying "Victor I promise that I will always be here for you no matter what !"

"Thanks Rarity that means a lot." Victor said hugging her back being careful as not to put to much force into the hug from the emotions that were overflowing from his mind looking up he noticed that it was dark outside pulling away he said "Looks like its late I better get back to Applejack before she freaks."

"None sense deary you can stay here for the night."

"Are you sure ?"

"Of course I am darling now let me show you to the guest room."

(Later that night)

Tossing and turning Rarity couldn't fall asleep it seemed to be taunting her by drawing her in the quickly ripping itself away sitting up she grunted looking around the room she could only notice how empty it had felt for the last few weeks. Looking down at the covers she had a light bulb moment grabbing a spare pillow and a small blanket she began to make her way down the stairs to the guest room, as she made her way to the door she carefully placed her ear against the door hearing no motion from the other side she gently opened the door pushing it in she looked to see Victor peacefully sleeping. Tip toeing to the bed she whispered to Victor "Hey Victor are you awake ?"

"*Slight snore*"

"Okay would you mind if I slept with you tonight ?"

"*Mumbles* ............Rarity."

"I'll take that as a yes thank you Victor." Rarity said sliding in beside Victor she put the pillow down before laying her head down she gave Victor a quick kiss on his lips laying her head down she yawned out "Good night my shining knight." before sleep claimed Rarity she felt a pair of arms wrap around her bringing her into a warm hug that helped he fall asleep faster.
