A Big Problemo

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

We searched through the city for about half an hour or so, or at least Bon Bon searched while I followed close behind. It was getting pretty dark out, and from what I have heard, it's not best to be out in the city when it's dark.

"Hey, Bon Bon? It's getting pretty late, we should continue tomorrow morning. Let's see if we can find a hotel nearby, b'cuz I'm getting pretty tired."

She looked down at the concrete sidewalk. "Yeah, I guess you're right........but one problem........I don't have any money..."

I held up my pouch of one thousand bits.

She stared at me dumbfounded. "Oh..........right............forgot about that.............so...let's go find a hotel!"

We searched for a hotel for about another half hour, but to no avail. We ended up getting lost, and I found some writing and graffiti in alleys that gave me the feeling that we weren't in such a good place to get lost when it's late. I looked down at my watch. Ten thirty seven. All that we had found were restaurants, business buildings, an apartment building, and some sort of theater looking building. When we had walked past it, Bon Bon froze in her tracks.

I stared at her for a while, and she looked back at the building. She gasped. Looking up at the building, I saw what she was looking at. It was the opera house. We ran to the apartment building and burst inside.

"Bon Bon, do you even remember where Amethysts room is?"

She nodded and ran up a flight of stairs. I followed after. We ran up three more stories up until she galloped down a hallway on the fifth floor. She stopped at a room somewhere in the middle, and I had managed to catch up to her just before she knocked.

The door had swung open, and a pink unicorn stood there, staring at me and Bon Bon.

She stammered a bit, but closed the door when we had heard a familiar someone calling out. "Amethyst? Who's at the door?"

She yelled back, but it was muffled out since the door was closed. The unicorn then came back out and shut the door behind her.

Before any of us could say a word, she collapsed at Bon Bon's feet. "Please get her out of here! She has been driving me crazy! All she wants to do is just talk about her past, and it's boring! Please get her out!"

Bon Bon raised an eyebrow. "Who is 'she', exactly?"

"Lyra! All she wants to do is talk about her past, and that is all she has done! I mean, I know that we are friends, but it's driving me insane! She kept me up all night long talking about her ancestors and how they were the first of her family to start hunting for the paranormal and legendary beings, and I couldn't sleep at all! I have been nice and let her speak, but I just can't handle it anymore! You have to help me!"

Me and Bon Bon both exchanged looks. I looked at the unicorn that was still on the floor crying and babbling on about how Lyra kept talking about her past. "Fine...we'll help you."

She got up and shook my hand violently yelling, "THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!"

She headed towards the door and slowly opened it just enough for her to walk inside. I followed in after and found Lyra standing at the other side of the room. She stared at me with her amber eyes, and I stared back.

Lyra ran towards me and jumped onto me, crying and hugging me so tight, I could barely breath. "ROE I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU CAME I MISSED YOU SO MUCH I TRIED COMING HERE TO FIND SOME CLOSURE BY TALKING ABOUT MY PAST BUT IT ISN'T WORKING!!!"

She sobbed hard into my shirt and loosened her grip just a little bit so I could breath, but didn't show any signs of stopping. I managed to pry her off and get back up. After I stood up, she continued hugging me around my waist, still crying about how she missed me. She missed me so much she was crying, and it has only been about a two days. This shows that she actually does like me, and that this is real, not a stupid crush.

Lyra opened her eyes and saw Bon Bon. She stopped crying as Bon Bon waved at her friend awkwardly. Lyra let go of me and looked at me in the eyes.

"What is 'SHE' doing here?"

"We both came here to find you, and I knew that there was no stopping Bon Bon from coming along anyways."

Bon Bon hesitated. "Should I come inside, or..."

Lyra cut her off. "You should just go. Just go back to Ponyville, and stay there."

"Lyra? What is your problem?" I couldn't believe that she was saying this stuff to her friend.

"The problem is that she spied on us and completely ruined our moment!"

"I only spied on you to make sure that your 'moment' didn't turn out bad! I was just making sure that you would be completely happy and didn't get made fun of since everypony does that! I was only wanting your 'moment' to turn out good and was just trying to see if it did! If I knew that it would've gone fine and that you two were going to kiss, then I wouldn't have spied on you, but I didn't know any of that, so I just wanted to make sure everything went fine!"

The pink unicorn spoke. "Wait, you two were about to kiss?"

"Stay out of this Amethyst! This is between me and Bon Bon. Bon Bon, lets go outside for a moment. Roe, don't follow. Okay?"

I nodded and watched as they walked out of the apartment to talk.

Amethyst walked up to me and started asking questions. "You are with Lyra? Won't other ponies be a little bit weirded out by that?"

I sat down on the couch. "Probably, but if we want to be together, then who's stopping us?"

She thought about that for a few seconds. "Good point. This is actually the first time I have seen them fight in a long time. Last time they fought was when Twilight Sparkle cast this spell that made everypony in Ponyville become obsessed over some stupid doll and even injure each other over it. Don't ask me why she did it, because I still don't know the answer to that."

I chuckled a bit. "So, why did you move here?"

"Well, I-"

Her voice was cut off from the sound of banging coming from outside the door, followed by some screaming. The door swung open, and three unicorn stallions rushed in, horns lit, and blasted a beam of magic at Amethyst. She fell down onto the floor, unconscious. I reached for my Katana blade, but not before the same spell was blasted at me. Everything went black.

My eyes slowly opened. I was sitting in the corner of some kind of large shed, or a warehouse. I tried to get up, but I quickly found that my legs and hands were tied together with ropes, with my hands behind my back. I looked around, now fully awake. I saw Lyra and Amethyst both tied together with ropes, their backs against each other and some sort of ring around their horns.

I looked around for Bon Bon, but she was nowhere to be found. Scanning the surrounding area, I realized that we weren't in Manehattan any more. We were far away from Manehattan.

Two large doors facing us swung open, and we found the three unicorn stallions from before. A rusty red unicorn with a light brown mane, A navy blue unicorn with a turquoise mane, and a snow white unicorn with a light greyish mane.

The area behind them just led to another room. Their horns lit up as they threw Bon Bon, also tied up with ropes, into the room next to Lyra and Amethyst. They turned around and the doors slammed shut.

I started to shuffle around, managing to get my hands to slide under my legs. Bringing my legs in, I finally got my hands in front of me. I bit onto the ropes with my fangs, and cut them free quickly. I untied my legs and got up, but ended up almost falling down. My legs were numb. So numb, I could barely walk.

I stumbled around for a bit before I could feel my legs again.

I walked over to the three mares and untied them.

Bon Bon tried to pull one of the rings off of Lyra's horn, but the weird ring seemed to be glued on.

"It's no use Bon Bon. Almost nothing can remove these!"

I walked up to her and looked at the ring. "What's with this thing? Is it enchanted, or..."

"it's a Dispersion Ring. Almost nothing can take these rings off. They stop unicorn magic from coming out of our horn because it has some type of magic proof metal, and possibly an anti-magic spell. Nothing can take these off except the pony who put it on us, or if we somehow break the anti-magic spell, but there might be some other way that we don't know. Until we get these off, neither me or Lyra can use our magic, and no other magical item other than whoever put it on can take it off." Amethyst explained.

I sighed in frustration. "Guess magic's out of the question. Hey, Bon Bon, what were they doing while you were in there?"

"They were trying to get me to talk about us having some magical weapon, but I just kept telling them that I didn't know anything they were talking about! They threatened to kill us, but I kept telling them that I had no idea what was going on and how we were just normal as everypony, with the exception of you saving Equestria, but they still didn't believe me! I don't know who they are, or what they want, but I just want to get out of here, like Now!!!"

We all froze when we heard a voice yell from the other side of the door. "What's all the commotion about?"

Before we could react, the doors swung open, and the rusty red unicorn was yelling, "They're free! How?!"

I smirked as I walked up to him. "Ever heard of fangs?" I smiled wide as I showed him my two pointy teeth that stood out from the rest.

Before he could even move a muscle, I punched the unicorn in the face hard. Running into the larger room, I frantically scanned the room, as the two other unicorns came charging at me. At last, I had found it. Sprinting to the left side of the room, occasionally dodging some magical lazers, I yanked my katana from it's sheath and entered a ready position.

The navy blue unicorn charged me while the snow white one stayed behind. I waited for him to enter a suitable rang for my attack strategy. When he was close enough, I spun around him, held him down by the shoulder with my left hand, and pointed the katana's tip to the back of his head.

Just then, I saw his horn lighting up. I reacted at extreme speed, and cut a small chunk, about a centimeter and a half, of the end off. His horn quickly stopped glowing, but instead sparked a couple times. He tried to charge up magical energy again multiple times, but they all rendered useless.

I looked back at the other unicorn. "If you even so much as try to hurt them, I will kill him. Take the Dispenser Rings off, and I won't kill him."

Amethyst yelled from across the room. "It's called a Dispersion Ring!"

I sighed. "I meant Dispersion Rings. Take them off of my friends, or your going to regret it."

He snickered. "I don't care for him. All we want is your powerful magic weapon that we sensed."

I don't know what or how it happened, but I was enveloped in a white glow, and at speeds unlikely for a person my age, I ran up to him almost instantly and held the katana to his neck.

I chuckled. "I am the weapon."
