Chapters Fallout: Equestria - A Mercenary's Story
"Hold still..." I mumbled, following the pony with my scope from my cliff which was quite a bit up from the pony and his camp. He was trotting around mumbling and every time i got set up to shoot he would turn, i cursed under my breath and noticed he turned to go to sleep. I cheeked my old pocket watch my father gave me, apparently it was a family heirloom, it was around 3 AM, i yawned and look in my scope, he was getting into bed, i aimed at his head with my scoped hunting rifle and then i noticed he was getting undressed. I had to look away "Ugh... God damn it... Hey Merya what do you think of this?" I turned to my pet radscorpion who just stared at me "Ya i think so to..." I aimed in and i saw him in the bed finally, i aimed for his head again and took a deep breath to steady my aim, letting half of the breath go. Thats what i learned after all, i slowly pull the trigger and saw the bullet rip threw his head, i swung my rifle on my back and trotted down with Merya following close behind, i stopped hearing guns cock, i look around seeing around three ponies aiming diffrent guns at me, one with a 10mm pistol, another with a sawed off shotgun and another with a unscoped hunting rifle, i sighed slowly "Who are you guys and what do you want?..."
One of the ponies, the unicorn pony with the 10mm, spoke up "You just shot our leader ya fuckin' zebra prick!"
I smirked "Oh no need for that kind of language..." I walked over to his rubbing his face softly before punching him, grabbing the pistol in my mouth fireing a shot into the shotgun wielding earth pony, the other unicorn with a hunting rifle fired at me, barely missing. I rolled behind a rock peaking over just to fire a shot of the 10mm into the knocked out ponies head. i tossed the 10mm, i looked around realizing Merya noticed them before i did and he got to hiding, i smile taking out a 10mm SMG, firing at him to keep his attention. I came up to fire more but i felt his bullet rip threw one of my front legs, i yelled in pain dropping my SMG, i slowly picked it back up in my mouth and i kept firing, but i noticed he wasn't there. I got up and walked over seeing Meryas tail as stuck threw his back. I smiled and walked over to my target talking out a knife taking off one of his hooves, i took what ever was useful from there dead bodies, drank a health potion i brewed my self, and headed back to New AppleLoosa, or as i called it NAL...
I walked into Fruitpop's office tossing her the hoof "Nice work Kalin, here your pay... But i had to take, city tax, tax for you renting my room, tax for you using my rilfe, and there you go. Ten caps, nice pay right?" i raised my hoof to him noticing i dont have any fingers then i put down my hoof trying to figure out what the hell i was trying to do. I walk over taking the caps.
"Unilmanta!" I yelled a zebra cuss at her, she smiled
"Have a good day to you to!" Shes a bitch... Moving on, i trotted to my room taking off my barding and i toss my weapons on the table, i pat Merya's head laying down in my very uncomfortable bed, patting a space next to me and Merya climbs on bed next to me curling up into a ball, i snuggle up next to her slipping into the abyss of dreamland...
I woke up seeing Merya slaughtered and a diamond dog staring at me, it leaped at me. I rolled looking around for my guns but i saw nothing there. I looked for my combat knife but it was also no where to be found. I turned and i saw it right in front of me. Its claws was about to slash my face in two. Then... I really woke up.
My face was drenched in sweat i looked at Merya and she was fine, i saw my weapons on the table like normal, i sighed getting up. I slipped into my leather barding, swinging my rifle on my back, putting my combat knife in its sheath, and i put my SMG in its holster. I walked out opening a pocket in my barding taking out my caps cheeking how much i had "Ugh... Only 24 caps... I guess i can buy some noodles for breakfast with a sparkle-cola. I walked over to Star Charmer, she runs the only restaurant. Shes one of the only ponies who is kind to me, i guess she dosnt care if i am a zebra. I sat down at the counter "Hey Star, can you give me noodles and a sparkle-cola?" I toss 14 caps on the counter "Ugh... Now i only got ten caps..."
"Sure thing Kalin, How about the sparkle-cola on the house?" She slid me back four of the caps.
"Thanks..." I sat back and relaxed waiting for the food once it came i had to ask "Hey, why are you doing this me?"
She smiled "Well i know how much Fruitpop been taxing you so i thought you could use some help. So this sparkle-cola is free and you will get discounts"
I smiled a bit "That will help quite a bit i guess" and i start eating, feeding half of it to Merya.
I walked into Fruitpop's office "So your ready to go 'deal' with another target?" I just nodded "Great, there is a caravaner who has been holding out medical supplies from the camp they supply. People in the camp gathered some caps together so get the caravaner killed. You are going to have to kill the gaurds to, they are between NAL and Dodge City, here your going to need this. And i wont tax you for it, though i should" she handed me a stealthbuck. I slipped it in one of my barding pockets and i headed to my mission with Merya following...

I looked into my scope, scanning the area in front of me for the target, i couldn't see anything expect the depressing sea of brown. I got up off the group and i kept walking, hoping to find some form of cliff to find my target. Soon i saw the faint glow of fire, i ducked behind a rock and looked into my scope, i could see the camp but this wasn't a good place to shoot from. I would get spotted quick, i saw a cliff with a quite broken tower not to far from me. I took out the stealthbuck, i turned it on turning invisible "Merya, stay here..." I whispered. I started sneaking to the cliff tower. While i climbed up the cliff to the tower. I looked for a latter on the tower but there was none, there was no way to get on top of it. I dropped onto my belly looking into my scope, i lined up a shot to one of the guards. Firing a shot into his head, i quickly pulled the bolt getting on my hooves rushing to another place to shoot. I couldn't stay in one place and shoot, i would get seen fast. I got down again firing at another guard but the bullet flew past it. I saw the last guard that i missed raise his assault rifle aiming at me. I looked at my body noticing i am not invisible anymore. I sighed firing back at it but with bullets flying past me, i couldn't aim right and i hit his chest. I saw the caravaner trying to hide. I sighed swinging my rifle to my back pulling out my SMG in my mouth. I slid down the cliff, once i get to the ground level rolling behind what seems to be a half of a blown up house, i fired a few shots into the wounded guards head. I got up putting away my SMG. I took out my combat knife walking to caravaner.
"No! Dont kill me! I swear i wont swindle those refugees anymore!"
I dropped my knife out of my mouth "Wait... That camp was a refugee camp?" The caravaner nodded "What kind of refugees?"
The caravaner sat up "Well its people running from the war down near New Pegasuses. You know the gambling place?"
"Ya, i know the place..." With out a second thought i picked my knife again stabbing him in the temple, slashing off his hoof. I put it in my water proof pocket i made from a weird pre-war lunch bag. I got up heading to the rock. I saw Merya playing with a pre-war bit. "Come on Merya..." I walked back over to the guard taking the ammo on all of them, i took the caps from caravaner walking back to town.
I walked into town, as i passed the ponies i saw the looks they gave me, It was looks of pure disgust, bigots...
I walked into Fruitpops office and like normal i tossed the hoof on her desk. "Taxes~ Lets see... Rifle... Room... Oh you know the drill" She passed me the caps, only 15... I cheeked the caps i got from the caravaner. 100 caps... Plenty to get dinner and buy supplies to brew some health potions and ammo. I headed to the weapon store selling all of the junk to get around 50 caps, i payed 70 for ammo leaving me with 80 caps to get food and supplies for brewing. I left the store and walked over to the supply store where they sell basically everything buying herbs for 40 caps leaving me with 40 more caps to buy food, and i left going to Star's restaurant
"Oh hey Kalin! Hows your money issue going?" I sighed a bit
"Well better then last night. I got 40 caps left... Godess dammit..." I guess now would be a good time to explain something. You see to me and most zebras there is one god and its a godess, and shes not a alicorn or any thing like that. Shes just a zebra who made such a magical potion she grew more powerful then anything alive and now watches over the world.
Star smiled "Well you still got the discount, so what will it be?" I thought for a moment
"A... Lizard on a stick, dirty water, some soup, and a sparkle-cola would be good..." Star nodded going into the store to get the food, i sat back on the chair like normal when i wait and i petted Merya's back softly. Star came out putting the stuff down, i took the lizard off the stick putting it down in front of Merya, using the stick to move it around, Merya quickly snapped its tail into the lizards back and devoured it, i used my hoof to dig a small whole where the lizard was and i poured the water in letting Merya drink, i turned to the soup and sparkle-cola and i got to eating.
Once i was full i got up taking the sparkle-cola bottle with me, i went to my room and opened the closet pulling out my cauldron, i started to get to work on making the potions, i hummed a song i got stuck in my head. It had something to do with being Octavia or something, it was a odd song.
Once the brew was done i collected it in all the empty sparkle-cola bottles i had. Anything left i would store in a old pre-war cooler and keep it for latter, i fell face first in bed, I was quite tired after all, and i drifted into the void that is sleep...

I woke up yawning, i put on my barding and i grabbed my guns and knife slipping them in there place. I left my room going to Fruitpops office "Oh, Kalin! i got something great to tell you!"
I was guessing it was another insult, then she said "I am firing you, take your gear and go. I guess you can keep the rifle"
I was shocked "Why!?" She smirked
"Well ponies around dont like having a zebra working for me. So you cant use the room ether. Pack up and find some other pony to take care of your sorry plot" I growled a bit walking out, i walked out to Star's restaurant
"Star, i am going to need as much canned food i can buy with 25 caps..." I said sadly
"What? Why? Thats a odd thing to want for breakfast..." I explained what happened "Oh... Hmm..." She walked into the store and then walked out, she was wearing metal armor, she had a assault rifle at her side, and a bag on her back
I blinked a few times, confused on what going on "Uhh... What are you doing?"
"Well we are going out to the road, i never liked this place. I got as much food as i can hold, lets go Kalin" I shrugged and followed her out of the town.
We walked into a very messed up town, i looked at a sign seeing it read 'Pon evil '. A bullet passed by me, i whipped out my hunting rifle scanning for the location of the shot as i hid behind the sign with Star, "You see the shooter Kalin?" i shook my head slowly "Well find it!"
I looked back at her "Yelling at me wont help Star!" I looked back in the scope
"Sorry..." She whispered and i kept scanning the area, i saw a pony in raider armor and blood covering him, he was a earth pony with a sniper rifle in his hooves
"Found him..." I took a deep breath lining a shot up to his head. Nothing but the scope was my world now, i only cared about getting this shot at the moment, i slowly pulled the trigger and i could see threw the scope the raider's head explode. I get up "Hes dead, lets move"
We walked threw the town, there where bodies every where. It seems someone or something as already 'cleaned up' the bandits. Merya kept looking at the sky, it was growing dark "Hmm... Star... I think a storm is coming..."
Star looked at me confused "How can you tell?"
"Well Merya can tell. Sure shes a bug but she can tell when is a storm is coming like most animals. We should get out of this town and make a camp..." Star nodded and we left Pon evil finding a cliff above the ground where we couldn't be sneaked up on easily. "I will take the first shift awake, get some sleep..." I raised my scope scanning the group level, moving to other sides, watching for any movement. I saw some kind of metal thing move on the ground level, i wasn't sure what it was so i whipped out my SMG slinging my hunting rifle on my back sliding down the side of the cliff slowly creeping up to the metal object, it seemed to be a security bot. But it didn't seem to be as mindless as normal robots. I slowly walked up to it being careful, it turned to me i spat out my SMG "Uhh... Are you a mindless killing bot like most or?..." I picked it back up in my mouth
"I am P0N3. I am a killing bot but not mindless. Call me Pone, insert your name now" I looked at it. Realizing it was a basic AI
I blinked a few times thinking before i spoke "I am Kalin. Who owns you?"
Pone spoke in a monotone robotic voice "My master died. I am coming with you now, say no and i may as well shoot you"
"Erm... Ok... Come with me Pone..." We headed back up the cliff, Star was awake looking confused at me and Pone "Oh, well this is Pone, its a basic AI security bot and... It coming with us because it wants to and we don't really have much of a choice..."
"Uhh... Alright then. Welcome to the group Pone"
"Thank you. Insert name now" Pone reply saying to Star
I spoke up "Oh her name is Sta--" Pone aimed it hoof minigun at me
It turned to me "I asked the unicorn" I lower its hoof turning back to Star "Insert name now!"
Star sighed "I am Star Charmer..."
I looked to Pone "Well sense your a robot and you don't need sleep. Star and I are going to go to sleep, you guard ok Pone?" he nodded his head and started to patrol the cliff as me and Star got into our sleeping bags and went to sleep...

I woke up seeing Star cooking over a fire, her armor was off and i found my self looking at her plot. Mostly her cutiemark, though her rump was a good sight also, her cuitemark was a star with hearts around it "Hey Star, what does your cuitemark mean?"
She turned around to me "Oh your awake, well it dosnt have a meaning but i guess you would know that from how it happened. Unlike your zebrama--"
My smile turned to a scowl "Its called a glyphmark but i am not shocked you didnt know that..."
She smiled a very innocent looking smile "Heh, sorry. Anyway, unlike your glyphmark my cuitemark isn't a meaning it more of a... Picture of the story, the star means me and those hearts are... Well... Hearts because i am quite good at convincing people" I push up to my hooves trotting over
"So what does your mark mean?" I looked down sadly letting out a sad sigh
I looked back up at her "Well i simply dont know, it just appeared one day..." I looked at my odd circle like mark
Star looked at me confused "Uhh that is really weird. I dont see how that's possible..." I just shrugged.
Star turned to me again "Also why where you looking at my ass?"
I blinked a few times "Uhh... You wanna back me up here Pone?" I whispered to it
Pone spoke up "I believe she finds your rectum attractive and would like to have intercourse"
I blushed very hard "Uhm... I am going to go scout whats around... Cya!" I ran away as fast as i could leaving a cartoon like dust behind me. I realized i left my guns and barding behind and so i trotted back Star was just watching me from the cliff, i walked up to her "Hes a robot he doesn't know what hes talking about" I could only give a clearly fact chuckle to back it up
"I am fairly certain i am not wrong. You where looking at her rectum after all" i scowled rushing to my barding, slipping it on. I grabbed my guns tossing them on my back and i once again trotted away...
I saw movement so i looked into my scope trying to see what it was. It was a two headed cow with boxes and packs on its back and a few ponies following it. I assumed it was a caravan so i swung my rifle on my back heading to it.
I tapped one of the ponies back, he turned looking at me. His face quickly grew with disgust and shock, i think i saw even a hint of fear "Gah! Zebra! Shoo! Go back to you own wasteland!" i scowled as i noticed i do quite a bit
"Look sir, i just want to buy some supplies..." The cow slowly turned over to us
It spoke out of both its mouths oddly "What is wrong with the zebra? Is she robbing us? We get robbed a lot..."
I thought for a moment "Well no i am not robbing you. But i wouldnt have to if you where willing to sell to me..." I put on my most sinister smirk i could manage, the stallion quickly stopped being a bigot
"Well what would ya' like miss!" I went back to my normal expressionless face
"Well i guess some herbs, ammo for a assult rifle, sniper, SMG, minigun, rocket, and a sharpening stone" He thought for a moment
"I guess... 250 caps will do..." I took my caps out of my pocket. Star and pone, i didnt even know he had caps on him, gave me there caps to keep track of them. I handed over the caps and took my stuff walking away happly

I walked back up the cliff and i noticed something odd. Star was building with black wood and i looked at the south side of the cliff seeing quite a few trees chopped down. I walked over to Star "What are you doing?..."
Star looked over at me, stopping hammering with a rock "Oh! I noticed how good this place is so i thought we could make a house here, set up trade, and maybe even end up making it a town" I sighed slowly
"We cant stay here! We have to keep moving!" Star looked at me as if i was dumb
"Oh? Why cant we? Why must we move?"
I thought for a moment and nothing came to mind, i just felt we shouldnt stay in one place "Because... Well... Its foolish to stay here!"
Pone watched us, he seemed to be a bit entertained from our argument Star just snapped "What do you know!? You just a goddamn zebra who is only good at being a murder! You're nothing! Hell given the fact you came into town alone covered in blood when you where just a filly like me shows that your nothing! Not even your parents could help your sorry ass! And your only friend? A bug! A goddamn bug! You're lucky that your still alive!" I growled but after a moment i realized she was right i am just a killer. I lowered my head walking away trying to not show the tears streaming down my face, Merya followed me. Letting out crackling sounds trying to reassure me, i kept walking until i reached a lake with water that is radiated quite a bit, i sat down in front of it staring into the water letting the tears roll down my face. Merya lied down next to me, curling into a ball, i pet her as i kept staring at the water
I heard someone coming up behind me. I didn't care to look, if it was a bandit or something like that i would be happy to die here. But the voice was a odd one, it seemed to be a quite old and ruff voice "Its not wise to be out in the open... You could get killed..." I turned seeing a old pony wearing makeshift power armor with micro-fusion packs to give it the power, he had a grenade machine gun on his left side, a minigun on his right, and on his back was a missile launcher. I looked at him, not bothering to cover my tears
"Look sir... If you are planning to kill me get over with it..." He laughed a very jolly laugh
"Oh no... I am not planning to hurt you. By the way is that building on that cliff you and your groups place? Its a good place to start a town..."
I sighed "It kinda is... But i can go back there... They hate me..." He put a hoof on my shoulder, then picked me up placing me on his back and he headed for it "Oy! I cant go back there! Let me off you insane old man!"
We got there and he tossed me on the ground, i turned my self mid-air to land on my hooves, Star was looking at me and the random old pony quite shocked. She slowly walked up to me "Look... Kalin... I didnt mean what i said... Me, Pone, and even Merya here all care about you..." The tears slowly came back, but tears of happiness this time. I hugged her
The old pony smiled "See? I knew they didnt hate you... They sent me to get you..." I looked at him, quite pissed
"Why didnt you just say that!?" He shrugged, smirking
"My name is Old Pony CandleHoof"
I sighed "I am sure you know all of our names by now huh?" He nodded slowly

Chapter 6
Its been about 4 months since we started this place and we already got about 16 families and 8 single ponies, griffins, and zebras here. More ponies then anything but its good. I was sitting at my watch tower watching for raiders and such and in the distance i heard music. I walked down off the tower, waving my hoof to signal a griffin to start watching. I walked to the bar hearing Star sing
"Well she stroll right in like she owns the town
I smile, feeling like it was about me, she noticed me and seemed shocked, she ran off with blush on her cheeks. I smiled more knowing i will hold her to that for a very long time...
I knocked on her houses door and she opened it, she saw me holding a rifle to where her heart would be "Welp, it seems i am aiming for your heart!". I started cracking up, though she was angry i could see she was blushing more
"Do you think that song was about you? Pff... Nah... I-it... Was about... Uhh... IronWing! Ya!" I could tell she was lieing, mostly due to the fact she was talking about the happiest griffin in town who cant even hold a pistol correctly
"Oh? Well i will be sure to tell her that!" I laughed more patting her head like a dog and me and Merya walked away, i was quite happy thats for sure
