Previous ChapterI have the shit, but where's the fan?
Izaiah shut the door behind him and exhaled deeply. A few tears were wiped away before he said;
"So, looks like you were right...I'm sorry for not believing you and putting you through all of that." Gilda nodded sadly. She wrapped a comforting wing around Izaiah. The two walked on in silence, walking aimlessly through the streets of ponyville for who knows how long, lost in their own thoughts. Without realizing it, they found themselves back in the park, where they had both crash-landed. Izaiah chuckled, and slumped down against a nearby tree. A light smile appeared on Izaiah's face as he took in the scenery.
"I guess we're too attached to this place to stray away from it huh?" Gilda gave a slight smile before laying right down next to Izaiah. Izaiah's gaze went to the starry night above. He almost fell asleep, but the sound of crying stopped him. Izaiah looked over to his griffin companion. She was sitting up, her head swung from side to side, looking as confused as Izaiah was. Izaiah's eyes searched around for the origin of the sound, and it wasn't long until he spotted a lone cyan Pegasus mare, trudging slowly down one of the park's many paths. Her wings limply dragged across the ground and her head hung low as teardrops fell from her eyes. Izaiah nudged Gilda, but the griffin had already noticed. The griffin readied to take off, but Izaiah stopped her and put a finger to his lips, before motioning to follow quietly.
The two had been trailing the crying mare for a bit and then the mare stopped on a hill and sat, looking at the stars. Izaiah and Gilda stopped and quietly listened in on what the mare had to say.
"H-hey...I *sniff* don't know where you are, or if you can hear me Gilda, but I just want you to know that...that I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything that I said to you, and I wish I hadn't said anything at all. I-it's just that, I was so torn between my loyalty to you and to my friends. I let my hate get the better of me, and I feel absolutely horrible about that. Sure, you made my friends and I suffer before, but you should've a least gotten to say SOMETHING. I had no right to call you what I did. After Izaiah had yelled at all of us, our common sense kicked in and we all hated ourselves for it. Fluttershy has never cried so much before, pinkie pie hasn't been this still since...well....ever... The boys seemed ready to kill themselves." The mare's eyes watered. "And Izaiah...it's only been a few hours but...but we all miss you so much, and I miss you...I hope you both come back..." Then the cyan Pegasus began to cry even harder, putting her face in her hooves. She was interrupted by a fierce embrace from behind. She looked back to see a crying Gilda squeezing the life out of her. Then Gilda released Rainbow Dash. RD looked at her with wide eyes.
"Y-you came back?" Gilda nodded, smiling.
"I accept your apology Dashie." The cyan Pegasus hugged the Griffin with all of her might, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" A chuckle drew RD's attention.
"Damn Skittles! Heh Heh, excited much?" Izaiah barely had time to finish his sentence before being tackled by a crying blue and rainbow blur. Izaiah was so close to the ever-trolling light this time, he could almost grab it! But no-oo, the universe wouldn't give him a break just yet. The light faded as Izaiah gained consciousness, finding two worried sets of eyes looking down on him. He swatted them out of his face playfully.
"Rainbow Dash, one of these days im going to go into that light and never come back, you know that right?" He ruffled up her rainbow hair. She rolled her eyes and responded;
"That won't happen for a long time...right?" RD looked at him hopefully. Izaiah and Gilda raised an eyebrow.
"Did you hear that Gilda? The awesome, badass, Rainbow Dash is worried about someone?"
"Yeah, I think I did hear that...so much for her rep..." Izaiah and Gilda teased, making rainbow punch them both, making them stop and laugh, their lungs already hurting. Rainbow Dash growled at them both.
"Oh buck you guys!" That caused the two stop and Izaiah looked at RD with a serious look on his face.
"Ok. What time? How hard? How fast? Please be gentle?" RD's mouth started to hang open. Gilda joined in as well.
"You can have me on Tuesday and Thursday...but..." Then the two grinned, and said in unison,
"I can't wait to taste the Rainbow..."
Rainbow Dash's wings were rigid, her jaw hung open, her eyes were wide as saucers, one of them twitched every so often. Izaiah and Gilda couldn't contain their laughter any more. They burst out in a loud and long chain of laughter and snorts, and they rolled on the ground, holding their chests.
"Oh-haha-you should see your face right now! Ahahaha- It's priceless! Ahaha-" Izaiah said in between his laughter. RD just shook her head in disbelief at the two. Her face was a light cherry red. It was several minutes later when Izaiah and Gilda had to stop for air. RD had her forelegs crossed as she hovered above the two. She glared at them.
"Not funny guys." Then, something caught her eye. She looked to the sky, where many black shadows could be seen flying towards them. They looked familiar...Rainbow gasped as she realized that those were griffons. She said frantically to Izaiah; "I-i-zaiah! L-l-look!" Izaiah raised an eyebrow at her before he turned around and searched the skies for what was scaring Rainbow Dash. His eyes bulged at the sight. There was a group of so many rogue griffins heading their way, it could have been easily mistaken for a whole army battalion. Gilda also turned to look at the sight. Her mouth hung open. The girls looked at Izaiah. Rainbow asked shakily;
"I-i-izaiah...c-c-can y-you...*gulp*...face t-t-that many?" Izaiah took a deep breath.
"Yeah, in my dreams! Are our friends still wanting to harm Gilda?" Rainbow Dash shook her head. "Okay then, I want you to take Gilda and go to our friends and go to canterlot. The marine ponies and guard should be able to protect you there. Tell Gold and Falcon to guard you all with their lives. They are NOT to come and help me. You girls are the top priority." Rainbow shook her head.
"You gotta come with us!"
"No. Someone has to slow them down."
"I'm staying with you then." The giant group of griffins were getting closer. They would be there in a mere few minutes. Izaiah growled.
"RAINBOW DASH! I don't fucking have time for this. Gilda! Take her! Go! Now!" Gilda slowly nodded, grabbing a struggling Rainbow Dash.
"No! I won't leave! Izaiah!" It was too late. Gilda had already started to fly to the library.
Izaiah stood shaking, and drew his sword. "Flare...we both know this is suicide. But...we...serve to protect. So...are you with me?"
"Brothers to the end." Flare said, changing into his Fire form, wielding a red sword next to Izaiah. Izaiah nodded to him and sparked up his lightning in his left hand. His eyes turned silver. The rogue griffins started landing a quarter mile away from Izaiah, and they wielded their swords and guns. They charged.
"Let's do this." Together, Izaiah and Flare ran at the griffins.
(Library.)
Loud bursts of gunfire could be heard all over Ponyvile. Falcon and Gold brushed it off, thinking it was Izaiah, before Gilda crashed through the front door of the library, sending the chunks of wood everywhere. Gilda panted heavily, and Rainbow Dash flew around the library gathering everyone in the main room quickly. Gilda quickly explained the problems in her kingdom and told them that Izaiah had said to head to Canterlot as fast as possible. Falcon, Rainbow Dash, Spitfire, and Gold were reluctant but went along with it. The group rushed through town, just barely making it to the train station. A train was to about to leave to canterlot. The conductor got them on quickly, and they started heading to Canterlot. Sgt. Gold and Falcon looked out of the window facing Ponyvile. Flashes of lightning struck down to earth in the distance, and flames could be seen over the houses. Griffins filled the skies above Ponyvile, tearing apart houses and shops, making the residents run around in terror. Gold shook Falcon's shoulder. He pointed to another window.
Some of the rouge griffins were flying towards the train wielding swords.
"Shit!" Falcon turned to his mare friend, who was talking with Gilda. "Twilight! Can you teleport us to Celestia? The rouge griffins are headed to the train!" Twilight's eyes widened.
"B-but I've never teleported this many ponies before! I-I can't!" Something crashed through the window, making every pony flinch and look. Princess Luna stood before them.
"Pri-" Twilight was cut off.
"Lieutenant Solarwing?!"
"Yes?"
"Help Twilight and I get the element bearers and their friends to Brisk immediately!" With that, Twilight teleported Spike, Rarity, AJ and herself while Solarwing teleported Falcon, Gold, and himself. Princess Luna was left with Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie , Rainbow Dash, Gilda, and Spitfire. Luna charged up her magic and with a bright flash, they, and the rest of the passengers on the train were teleported to Canterlot, leaving the griffons an empty train.
Brisk paced back and forth in the throne room, waiting for Izaiah and his friends to arrive. He had sent Luna to go and get them, because his recon unit had spotted a large gathering of rebel griffins not too far from Ponyvile wielding guns and swords. He couldn't lose his aces and Celestia's element bearers in this master plan of his. Brisk didn't have to wait long. Three bright flashes blinded him and next thing he knew, Solarwing, Luna, Gilda, Falcon, Gold, the element bearers, Major Spitfire, and twenty three random ponies stood before him. Brisk glared at Luna.
"What happened?" Luna collapsed, panting from the exhaustion of teleporting twenty eight ponies from many miles away. Solarwing cut in, panting as well.
"Griffins attacked Ponyvile, so we had to teleport from a train, because they were going to attack the train as well." Brisk nodded and teleported the random twenty three ponies to the center of canterlot, dazed, and confused. Brisk turned his attention to Gilda. She had a few tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Where is Private Midflame? I know he was assigned to protect you, and he isn't one to go against orders." The female griffon looked at Brisk with sadness in her eyes.
"The last time I saw him, he was running at the rebel Griffins with his sword drawn, telling me to come here." Brisk was silent for a moment. Then he looked at Solarwing.
"Lieutenant! Go to the barracks and wake up Eagle company and Vixen company, and tell them to ready up! Bring their Captains back here pronto! Copy?!" Solarwing gave a salute.
"YES SIR!"
"Dismissed!" With that, Solarwing teleported elsewhere. Brisk turned to Spitfire. "Ready up your Wonderbolts." Spitfire nodded then took off in a trail of orange and yellow. Next he turned to Falcon and Gold. "You two go to the armory. Get some weapons and come back here. Here's a map. Dismissed!" The two ran down the hallways to the armory following the map Brisk gave them. A bright flash blinded Brisk and the element bearers, revealing Solarwing and two captains dressed in battle armor. The two captains saluted Brisk.
"SIR! Captain Specterlade reporting for duty! SIR!" A red coated earth pony with a grey mane yelled out.
"SIR! Captain Spectrum reporting for duty, SIR!" A dark cyan Pegasus with a rainbow colored mane and tail yelled out.
Brisk nodded to them making them drop the salute.
"Are Vixen and Eagle company ready?" The red earth pony spoke first.
"Sir, Vixen company is ready, but fire team echo are on a mission." Brisk sighed.
"That's fine. What about eagle company?" The rainbow maned stallion spoke.
"Sir, Eagle company is ready but fire team bravo is missing it's newest recruit, Private Midflame."
"Private Midflame is in Ponyvile. From what I have heard, he was last seen stalling the griffins from attacking Ponyvile." Falcon and Gold walked in the throne room dressed in battle armor. Falcon had a sword and .50 caliber sniper rifle, while Gold had a dagger and a m4 carbine. They fell in line with the captains and saluted.
"SIR! 2nd LT. Falcon reporting for duty, SIR!"
"SIR! Master Gunnery Sgt. Gold reporting for duty!" Brisk nodded to the two, and they dropped the salute. Then he turned back to the captains.
"Captain Specterlade, you can have these two in place of fire team echo. Now, I have zero Intel on this attack other than Private Midflame might be alive and in Ponyvile, still fighting. Your main mission as my two best companies is to evacuate Ponyvile and it back. Let me know if you need back up. Get going marines!"
[b]"YES SIR!"
