Chapter Two
Previous ChapterI suppose I should start by telling you that this isn't the full story, just what's happened so far, so try and stay with me here. My name is Justin, I'm seventeen years old, and I am so very lost. No I take that back. I'm not lost, I am long past being lost. Lost was a few months ago. But I can't safely say that I know where I am. See a few months back I was enjoying myself on New Year's Eve, had driven the six hours from Boston to New York and had been walking around trying to get to my grandma apartment. That was really the last thing I remember before waking up in an alley in... I honestly didn't know where it was. It looked like Manhattan (but it was far more colorful) but instead of people walking by there were ponies. At least I think they're ponies. Multicolored horse looking creatures doesn't really sound right. Walking out among them was easy, then came the language barrier. I couldn't read, write, or speak their language. they could've understand me, and without the lifeline known as communication I was...helpless. And instantly homeless.
Being homeless is awful. Being homeless while in an alien world is even worse. Turned out that ponies don't care for anything that isn't pony shaped. The first pony I talked to screamed and ran. At first I just let it go, assuming that it was the shock of seeing a human for the first time and simply not understanding me. But after getting a similar response from the second pony, and the third, sixth, eighth, and twelfth pony I realized that it was useless try to ask for help from them. Either the avoided me or simply yelled at me, I couldn't understand what they were saying but from the harsh looks and tones of voice, I would guess they weren't trying to be friends. Of course with anyone's help I couldn't get anywhere. Sleeping in the alleyway the I first woke up in was really not helping my image or health. Being a bum seemed to work the same way here as it did back on earth. People (or ponies in this case) walk past you barely looking at you, trying their damned hardest not see you. The ones that do see you either try to forget they did or look at you with pitying or disgusted eyes. Without help, and with my health diminishing I didn't really hold any high hopes of making it past the year.
