Tales of Dark Eater

Dark Eater sat alone in a hotel room. There he sat, writing away, using unicorn magic to write in a journal he had made recently.

Journal Entry #7

It has two weeks after escaping the dungeon in Canterlot. My original plan was obtain power enough to kill my father and that wretched witch Celestia. However, my original plan may now be changed. Originally, I was going to kill her due to crimes in causing a huge imbalance to the human world. Unfortunately, after being in this wonderful world filled with magic, I have realized something terrible. If she is killed, then this world will fall out of balance due to her being the controller of the Sun. If I kill her, I’ll be no different than her. If I kill her, I’ll be world breaking monster. So, ideally, I could find a way to eliminate her ability to longer be able to interfere with the human world. According to my calculations, Sunset Shimmer should you have been able to return the human world, I gave her an extra gem to get back in as one of my backup plans. Thankfully, before I was captured, I hid all the Starswirl scrolls in a part of the Everfree Forest so I got them later after escaping the dungeon. Now, I’m in this roach motel on the outskirts of Manehatten. I suspect soon, Celestia’a student Twilight will return to the human world as well. If my suspicions are correct, those three I met a few months back will probably go to Equestria High due to Sunset’s rampage with the Element of Magic. Those three are just another of Starswirl’s obsessive dumping of things into the human world. So, I think have to make an entirely new plan. However, first I have to gain a new power that rivals an alicorn or the elements. So what do I do? Let’s accomplish the first step and worry about the balance next.

Dark Eater then put down the journal he had been writing into. He sat there, relaxing in the chair in the hotel room. He sat there, thinking about what he would do next. He knew he had to obtain power but that was it. He spent the past few days at the Manehattan magic library, researching the world of Equestria and examining magic of the world. But, he didn’t find what he was looking for. He then sat there, wondering where he would have to go next.  He knew that the best magic library in Equestria was Canterlot which is the last place he could show his face in Equestria. He then decided he needed a changling spell. A spell to make himself look different enough to get in the archives but he couldn’t find a spell for it. There was only one library left for him look over and see if he can find a useful spell or item to beat Celestia. He then fell asleep, readying himself for tomorrow.

The next day he went to the last library in Manehattan. He searched tooth and comb for any answers he could find. He then found a book about spells that require more than one unicorn. He knew from the start he had no use for such spells but he was out of ideas and would go with anything at this point. He opened the book and skimmed thru its pages. He then saw one that interested him. It read: 'Body size changing spell, requires at least three unicorns to work.'

He then thought to himself, 'Three huh? This could work if I had my old gem, its power even in its lowest state was about five unicorns combined. I could make myself a smaller, more efficient model.' He then closed the book and pondered for a second. 'I don't have any tools to make a gem though. However, If I could find a jeweler here, perhaps. No, I need to make a plan first.' He pulled some pen and paper from his backpack and began to copy the spell from the book. He then went back to his hotel room and began to plan out how to make the gem. 'This will work,' he thought, 'I could do it in one night.' He then set out and found the local jeweler. He then left and bought some rope from a local store. Then night fell, and in the cover of the night, Dark Eater went to work. He used his unicorn magic and opened the back window of the jeweler’s store and sneaked in, gathering the tools inside the shop and began to work on gem. However, before starting he went upstairs to where the jeweler was sleeping and quietly blindfolded and tied him up. Dark Eater went to work furiously. He worked all night to craft a jewel of suitable power. The original he created to absorb the power of the Tree of Harmony took him months to make and even longer to design. This gem would be a small, one time power amplifier. It would break after the spell was cast at least twice and he knew it. So he prepared ahead and made two gems throughout the night. Exhausted, he went back upstairs and knocked out the jeweler who had just woke up as a just in case and then untied him. Dark Eater believed he might still need the rope. He then went back to his hotel and fell into a deep sleep. He later awoke and then went to the train station where he asked what the next day would be like for trains to Canterlot.  He then set out his plan, he knew the Canterlot guards would be looking for him so he go to the restroom in the train and shrink and sneak into Canterlot and increase in size later when it was convenient. He then purchased a ticket for the next day under a false name and then went back to the hotel, still exhausted. He then slept the night away.

The next day was the beginning the plan would unfold. He got on the train and began to think to himself, 'Okay, the plan is risky but it's my best bet to get information on obtaining a power capable of destroying Celestia. First, I shrink me and my stuff and then sneak into Canterlot. Then, at night I put myself back together and sneak into the Canterlot archive by any means necessary. This will work, I just know it.' He than sat on the chair and relaxed a little more. He knew he couldn't be tense, he just had to go for it.

A couple hours later, the train announced that in half a hour the train would reach  Canterlot. Dark Eater then slowly sneaked into the bathroom with all of his stuff and began the spell. His gem glowed as it synchronized with his horn. 'Okay this should work.' Dark Eater said, 'I only have one shot at this, but this gem should give the me the power of three unicorns for a small window of time.' He concentrated when suddenly the gem broke and a bright light engulfed him. He then collapsed onto the floor and then slowly got up. “Ow, what happened?”

Dark Eater then looked into the bathroom mirror and was speechless. He has fallen into full shock.

“No, no no, no no no no no no no no.....This can't be right.” he said as he looked at his stuff. His bags had shrunk some too. But Dark Eater had not shrunk or at least not to the tiny size he was hoping.

“No no no... and the gem broke which means... I only have one shot out of this now....” he said as he looked at himself in the mirror. “Why? Why did this happen? Why? This wasn't supposed to happen, not like this.”

He then stuttered, “W-w-why am I a-a-a f-f-f-filly?!!!”
