Tales of Dark Eater

Dark Eater kept looking at himself in the mirror, yelling, “This can’t be happening, this just can’t be happening!!! How did this happen? I know I didn’t do the spell wrong…What happened?!”

Dark Eater paused and then started thinking, ‘Okay, I need to think about this. Maybe I can use this if I get off this train, but…’ He his horn then glowed. ‘I thought so, my magic is weaker as a filly. Well, I guess I have to adapt to that.’

Dark Eater peeked outside the restroom. ‘We’re almost there. Good…’

The announcer quickly announced they had arrived at Canterlot. Dark Eater quickly jumped into the crowd leaving the train. He quickly passed thru the guards as they were checking the other passengers. He quickly then dashed into the nearest alleyway. ‘Alright, now I just need to hide and wait till nightfall.’

Later that night, Dark Eater started his plan. He quickly rushed up to the Canterlot Castle’s garden. Sneaking thru the bushes, he pulled his rope out and used to get up to a window in the castle. He quickly looked around and saw no guards. He then thought, ‘Alright, I need to find the library as soon as possible, the flaw of this plan is if I don’t find anything useful there but I really don’t have a choice. It’s the only way to find something to beat an alicorn.’

He quickly found the library and began searching through the books and scrolls for several hours. ‘There’s nothing here, just theories, small spells, and nothing else. This is worthless!’ He put the books down he skimmed through. ‘Is this all there is?!’

He then looked at the time. It was maybe an hour till sunrise and he wouldn’t be able to sneak out if it was daytime. He then decided to give up, there was nothing worth getting here. He quickly snuck to a window and used his rope to get down. He then began running thru the garden and quickly got to the town part of the Canterlot. He then went thru the town and saw a way around the Canterlot’s outer wall. He quickly snuck out as the shade of night was slowly going away. He slowly descended the mountain and hid inside a cave he found on the side of the mountain. He then fell asleep.

He then began dreaming, he was back in his cell in Canterlot in his dream. There were hundreds of chains on him. “What is this? Why am I back in the dungeon?” he exclaimed.

Then on the other side of the bars there was dark blue alicorn, Princess Luna. She then spoke up, “Hello Dark Eater.”

“Luna….So, this is a dream.”

“Yes.”

“Why are you here, Princess of the Night?”

“I am one who walks through dreams, it would make less sense if I wasn’t here.”

“You know, I actually respect you Luna, compared to your despicable sister.”

“Oh really, why is that?”

“You are someone who has looked at both sides of the spectrum. Seen what both offer like myself.”

“I won’t deny it, but you on the other hand are struggling with it.”

“What makes you say that?”

“Because, my sister has asked me to find you within the dreams but you haven’t been dreaming at all.”

“What’s the problem with not dreaming? Isn’t that normal?”

“It means that your heart is uncertain right now. You’re not sure what you really want.”

“What I want? I want a power to take on your sister. How am I uncertain?”

“Are you sure? Do you really want that? Is that your true goal?”

“My goal is to restore balance by getting rid of your interfering sister!”

“No it isn’t, that’s an excuse.”

Dark Eater paused and then asked, “What do you think is my true goal?”

“You don’t have one, you just wanted to beat your father and now you don’t know what to do with your life.”

“….”

“You know it’s true don’t you?”

“I won’t deny you’re not wrong.”

“Oh really? I’m surprised you would admit it.”

“However, isn’t your sister hunting me down? I haven’t killed anyone in Equestria. You do know that don’t you? I was trying to obtain the power of the Tree of Harmony in order to defeat the Gem of Keys.”

“I know, and I could persuade her to stop hunting you if you stop your quest for power.”

“But…”

“No excuses, my sister knows what she had done and she knows not to interfere anymore.”

“And I’m just supposed to sit here and she doesn’t get punished for all the atrocities she’s done?!”

“….She has been punished more than you think.”

“….”

“Why do you hate her so much?”

“Her human version is, well, a very oblivious person and very frustrating.”

“….She’s like that here too.”

“No kidding…”

“Stop hunting for power and I will convince her otherwise.”

“….Even if I did that, I have nowhere to go currently or anyway to get back to the human world.”

“The mirror is now in the Ponyville castle, is that what you wanted?”

“And I’m supposed to just waltz in there?”

“We could tell the Princess of Magic ahead of time of your arrival.”

“…..” Dark Eater paused as he thought about this, “No. I want to know more about this world.”

“Oh really?”

“I am a researcher first, balance maker second.”

“Very well, I will tell my sister to stop hunting you.”

“But I haven’t agreed to anything?!”

“You already have, you just don’t know it yet.”

“…..”

Dark Eater woke up to see it was next day already. He then looked down the mountain and saw Ponyville. He paused and then decided to go down the mountain to the village. He walked for hours and finally collapsed. He had not eaten for over two days as he had been constantly working on his now failed plan. He was still in a filly's body causing him to have even less strength. He fell down on the road and his eyes slowly closed.

“Darn, is this it?” he slowly said to himself, “Well, at least I can finally rest....”

He soon woke up in a bed with birds chirping nearby. He then saw a yellow pony with pink hair come up to him.

“Oh good, you're awake little filly. Are you felling better?”

'Oh no' thought Dark Eater. 'Not her.'
