Bill stared at the three attractive young ladies on his bowtie screen. There was something different about them (apart from their colorful skin, big highlighted hair, and punk-ish sort of fashion sense that somehow worked) that was intimidating and mysterious about them. Something that other humans (he doubted whether those girls were humans) from that new world he had just discovered only a month ago did not posses. Upon further inspection, Bill could also sense a trace of a magical aura from them. Not the goody-two-shoes type of aura that he'd seen earlier. A powerful, useful type of aura. He had to met these.....these....magical beings . But these auras told him that they were stripped of their magic.
No big deal! he thought. I'll just find some way to get it back for them! After all, this magic might help me when I need it most!
He'd use it on the Pines family. Bill only let them go because he knew that he would be defeated had he not. Oh, how he hated that family! Bill's body flashed a bright crimson red with anger from the thought of him. It took all of his self-control not to strangle Dipper Pines every time he saw him. But he knew that he'd have to be patient until those girls came. It seemed like they had stronger magic than he himself! Then, with a dawn of realization, a dangerous plan started to form in the yellow demon's mind.
Sonata was in the city park, skipping about the blossoming flowers and the cascading fountain humming a soft yet happy tune, when she was tripped. As Sonata tumbled to the sidewalk, her magenta eyes welled up with tears when small trickle of blood fell from her once blue (now red) knee.
A boy came over to her and smirked." You totally deserved that, you dummy! he taunted. "You don't even belong here!"
Sonata's tears threatened to fall, but she held them back and tried her best to think of some snarky comment, but the pain hurt sooooo bad. So she went with something that always made Aria's eyes go to her head:
"Y-you're a meanie!", she said with all her might.
The boy just laughed. Not a kind laugh like Dagi's when she was in a good mood. A cold, humorless laugh worse than Aria at her grumpiest.
She ran. Sonata ran as fast as her legs could carry her to the happiest place on the block: Sugar Cube Corner. By the time she got there, her legs were tired and aching. Sonata plopped herself onto the farthest seat from the entry, put on her hoodie and had a good sob. As she was running that boy was still shouting insults at her.
"Run!" "Go back home to your magical world, creep!", he yelled.
There were no words to describe how Sonata was feeling. The past few weeks had been hard on the three sirens, but it affected her the most. Aria fought with her on any subject whenever she saw her, and Adagio just acted like she'd given up on Sonata. And that made her sad. Really sad. Hide-in-a-small-cupboard-and-cry-for-a-jillion-years sad. Even worse, Dagi and Aria were at home being grumpy pantses, so she couldn't go home. If she did, it would get even worser. Now Sonata had to figure out what to do for a hour and a half with out using up her 20 dollars.
3 strawberry smoothies, 2 cupcakes, and 1 good ol' sob later, Sonata was back to her cheerful, ditzy state. She took two chocolate and vanilla sugar-free smoothies for her grumpy sisters and walked down the street, trying her best to whistle a happy tune.
Unbeknownst to Sonata or anyone else for that matter, an (currently) invisible triangular demon was watching her as she made her way down the street.
Mabel Pines was bedazzling another one of her sweaters when her twin brother Dipper burst through the door.
"Mable!" "You have to see this!"
"What?!"
"Come outside!"
So Mabel walked out of the door and into the woods muttering about how Dipper had to get a girlfriend and wasn't particularly concerned until she saw Dipper gaping a piece of cloth in his hand.
"What's so special about that cloth?" "Nothing, right?!" "Until now!" She pulled out her Bedazzling gun and quickly bedazzled the rag.
"There!" "Now it's sparkly, shiny, and special!" She beamed with enthusiasm.
"Turn around and look at that.....circle.....thing." Dipper was pointing at a fist-size rainbow doorway of some sort that was growing smaller by the second.
"Whoa! What is that? Mabel took a few steps back in awe.
"According to the book, it's a portal that can only be opened by dark magic. Once it's open, it'll shrink until its nothing, leaving no trace of it ever being there.
"Poke!" Mabel had picked up a stick and threw it at the portal, which was then immediately sucked into the portal.
"Where do you think it went?"
"I honestly don't know." "There's nothing else in here about the portal." "I guess the Author got bored and decided to move on to some other project."
Before the portal closed, Mabel swiftly put her hand inside it and moved it around. Her hand was apparently right above a sidewalk, and she felt a soft velvet bowtie. Mabel's eyes widened in shock when she realized just who'sbowtie it was. She hurriedly snatched her hand out of the portal with the bowtie clutched in it just as it disappeared into nothingness.
Mabel showed the bowtie to Dipper and then said in an very un-Mabel like tone: "Well, now we know who opened the gateway!"
"I'm going back to the Shack!", said Mabel in her normal high-pitched voice. "I've got tons more sweaters to bedazzle!"
Adagio Dazzle was up late at night sipping a sugar-free smoothie which her sister, Sonata had given her. (Adagio had to admit, she never thought Sonata had enough brains to read a book, so buying and carrying a smoothie down the street with out messing it up was a big accomplishment) She was counting up bills and expenses, amazed by just how much money they spent every month. What does 17,000 + 3,000 +12,000 equal? Adagio began to regret not paying attention in math class at Canterlot High. She'd had enough of this life. ARGH! "Stupid freaking Rainbooms! You thing you're the good guys? Seriously?! Look what you did to me!! Look at what you did to us! You effing bastards! Go to HELL!!", she screamed in rage and confusion as tears rolled down her cheeks.
. The Next Morning
Adagio hung her head in shame.
"I never thought it would come to this," she muttered. But she, Adagio Dazzle was the leader of the two idiots. A leader never cries. A leader never fears. A leader never cares. So, she put on her signature Poker Face and called Aria and Sonata to their small living room.
"Aria, look at this." Adagio gave Aria the Bills of Doom when she opened her mouth to argue.
"But wh-"
"Just shut up and look at it!," she snapped.
"Fine," said Aria, a little more weaker than intended. As Aria read through the bill, she showed quite a display of emotions. First shock, then sadness, and towards the end of the letter, resignation.
"I wanna see the paper!," whined Sonata. But Sonata was distracted by the (annoying) sound of the doorbell ringing.
"I'll get it!," she exclaimed. That's when life slapped her again. The man at the door was none other than the land lord, Filthy Rich.
"Hey there, Filthy! How are ya?!,"
"Hello Sonata, are your sisters here at the moment?"
Ding!
Sonata's phone chimed with a text from Adagio before she could reply.
Aria and I are at the mall. We'll be back at 6
"They're at the mall right now," Sonata said apologetically
"Oh, then tell them that they have to pay the rent next month or else I'll have to empty the house." Filthy said a little forcefully.
"Okay!," Sonata said cheerfully, completely unaware of the bomb that just dropped.
Inside the room Aria and Adagio were hiding in, both girls began to silently weep.
We're gonna lose our home, and we have to find a job Aria thought. i]Great. Just great
"Hmm....I look pretty good as a human," said the now humanized Bill Cipher. He had dirty blond hair that had a bang which covered one eye, a yellow brick-print tuxedo, and black boots, gloves, pants, a black bowtie, and of course, a tiny black hat. "It's been years since I've had my own human body!" He hit himself with his cane and laughed. "Pain is funnier than ever! Hilarious even!" But being a human also had its cons. Sure, Bill could use his magic, yet it had its limits. Bill could only see into the near future. He couldn't float, change colors or even shoot laser beams at mortals! Yet he had a job to do, and something was telling Bill that right now would be the perfect time.
Stan Pines wasn't an idiot. He knew about the monsters in Gravity Falls before Dipper was even born. But he was a kid. A kid like he himself once was and deep down, Stan really cared for Dipper and Mabel. Speaking of Dipper and Mabel.......he was getting these weird dreams about three colorful teenagers and this (supposedly) rich, floating triangle. That triangle looked familiar. Very familiar. If only he knew his name...... But before Stan could think about the triangle any further, a sound of munching came from his wallet. He looked down to see Waddles the Devil Pig devouring a 20 dollar bill
"Hey! Stop that! Thief! We've got a pig thief!" He shouted while chasing after Waddles.
The triangle was quickly forgotten.
Sunset Shimmer was rehearsing a song with her five friends, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Apple Jack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash.
"Umm.... when we go to the adoption center, can we play a little softer? I don't want to scare the animals. If that's okay,"
said Fluttershy, the shyest and kindest of the five
"Sure thing Fluttershy, but if we make it any quieter we might as well switch to classical music." Rainbow Dash, the one with the largest ego warned.
"Okay"
Sunset was about to suggest another song to play when a blue spark flashed in front of her eyes. Her head started to throb and her knees started to wobble. The last thing Sunset saw was Apple Jack's leather boots as she fell to the ground.
"That was fun!" exclaimed Bill as he walked down the street. Then another wave of realization crashed into his (now human) head. Can I teleport? He wondered. Bill imagined a circle of blue flame, and he looked around just in time to see blue fire arranging itself into a circle. Bill closed his eyes and grinned as he was teleported in to the Dazzling's three-bedroom apartment.
Adagio fingered the broken red shards of glass sadly in her closed bedroom. That glass was the ticket back to her old life. She'd never admit it to Sonata and Aria, but now she had completely lost all hope of somehow getting their magic back. A circle of blue fire started to appear near her. Frozen in terror, Adagio couldn't do anything but widen her eyes in fright and stare. The flame suddenly disappeared and a rich-looking teen who seemed to be around her age emerged and gave her a smile of accomplishment.
Prologue: Picking Up the Pieces
It was a month after we were "defeated" by the Rainblooms or whatever they were called. In reality, it was only luck that those ignorant snobs had somehow overpowered us, for if Miss Sunshine hadn't come, if Sonata hadn't been the worst and could actually tried to get Sunset to feel bad enough to not come to the show, we would have won. Or if we could have screeched even louder to knock the microphone off that hill. It was all Sonata's fault. She probably didn't try at all! We could have kept voices and our dignity! But nooo. Adagio, Sonata and I packed our bags and moved to a tiny little city nearby. We were forced to move into the worst place possible: a three-bedroom apartment.
Adagio told us that we were lucky to find a big place like this. Given my horrible luck, we'll probably have to move into a dumpster! I never thought it was possible, but I now feel lonelier than ever.
Before our magic was stolen from us, I'd find any trace of hatred or chaos and snag it to strengthen my voice. I'd then sing a little back into Sonata and Aria's pendants to give them some energy. I never really needed to, but I guess after living with the two dunces for a couple of centuries, we've begun to feel like family. After all, they are the only Sirens left in existence for all I know, and I (don't tell anyone) need their help. Our voice had become so strong, that with a little poem, we could have a small crowd as our temporary personal servants. When we performed on stage as the Dazzlings, we had people completely under our control. But then life slapped me in the face. I now know how it feels to be poor, clinging on to the small glimmer of hope that somehow, things will get better.
