In Canterlot (Part 3)

Once I saw him I froze right where I was standing. I didn't move, I couldn't move. Princess Celestia didn't say anything to me, she let me process what I'm seeing right now. I don't know why or how Spike got here in Canterlot. Last I heard about him was from Fluttershy telling me she was attacked by him and that he must be connected to the dragon army. Spike is fast asleep, probably put under a sleep spell, I can see the magic emitting from Celestia's horn. I stared at Spike for a minute in some kind of trance that couldn't be broken. I heard Celestia calling my name for awhile, raising her voice more and more yet I still stare at Spike without even blinking, I bet I set a new record for longest time without blinking and using magic not to. After another few seconds Celestia finally brakes me from my trance. "Twilight, I'm deeply sorry I had you come to Canterlot to see him here. I'm sure you know why he is here, but not the full story why."

"I still don't get why the Dragons are doing this though and why now?" I look from Celestia to Spike and back at Celestia with a puzzled look. "From what I know the dragons are just angry at ponykind, I don't know why they are. I also don't think that is the real reason they declared war on us, I think..." Celestia explained her thoughts to me, I wasn't listening what she was saying anymore, my mind was filled with to many thoughts it seemed Celestia wasn't even speaking English anymore. I manage to clear my thoughts a few seconds later and listen in to what Celestia is saying.

"This war will bring many casualties and probably leave us weak to any other attack if we survive the Dragons."

"How will we survive them though, everypony on the face of this planet knows that one dragon is the equivalent to 100 ponies."

"I know one way we can possibly survive the Dragons until we can make some kind of peace treaty. Centuries ago, ponykind was close to extinction because of the Dragons, even Luna and I weren't able to stop them. The Elements of Harmony gave us hope by creating a pony out of thin air, a special pony called the Dragonborn who was gifted with the soul of a dragon. This one pony could singlehanded handle a dragon by using the dragons own language. After seven years of war the Dragons offered a peace treaty because of the Dragonborn pony who was killing all the dragons, I knew the Dragons only offered this treaty so they wouldn't be killed and we didn't want to have to kill them. So we accepted the treaty." Celestia's story filled into my mind and I almost couldn't believe it, but something in my head told me it was true.

"Then why didn't the Dragons just attack us after the Dragonborn passed away, was he or she immortal?" I asked.

"The Dragonborn is a mortal pony. The dragons didn't attack because when they heard the Dragonborn died, they also heard a new one was born. when that Dragonborn passed away another was born again. The cycle continued for two more lifetimes. Until the day I couldn't find the dragon born. When I did look for him or her I sent word to every city and village to send him or her to Canterlot, I also told them the Dragonborn will have a dragon as their cutie mark. I waited to see who it was but I never did so I assumed that the Dragonborn link was broken somehow. The Dragons still never attacked after that. I also assumed that they assumed another Dragonborn was born, until now. They found out we didn't have our secret weapon. So they declared war. But I believe we do have our secret weapon."

"If we do, who is it, and how do you know if you haven't seen him or her yet?" I was lost at this point, filled with so many questions ready to burst out of my mouth. I keept them in hoping Celestia will answer them when she speaks again.

"I don't know exactly who it is, but I know how to find out." The magic from her horn dispels and I see Spike start to wake up. I used to think he was cute when he woke up when he was a baby. Now he is a teenage enemy, and it only fills me with terrible thoughts when I watch him wake up.

As Spike looks around to see where he is, Celestia speaks up again. "Princess Twilight Sparkle, I believe the secret weapon is you."
