Overdrive awoke the next morning, as he normally does, when the sun peeks through the windows. He slowly got out of bed, not to disturb the mare sleeping on the other side.

After fixing his hair, he quietly left the room, closing the door behind him, to go grab breakfast downstairs in the lobby. As he joined the other guests for breakfast, he grabbed a plate, and proceeded to load it up with eggs, haycon, a muffin, and even grabbed a cup of coffee to start off his morning.

The food itself wasn’t the greatest, average at best, being it had to be produced at such a quick rate and large amount. As he ate, he had several things on his mind. For one, he had to make sure he caught his train back to Ponyville in time. Another thought was how his quality reputation was getting around Equestria.

But the one thing that weighed on his mind, was they young mare asleep upstairs in his hotel room last night. In his head he knew she belonged to somepony, and that he should find her parents and return her to them, but at the same time, he had a feeling she was out on the streets for a reason, and getting her back to her family would be a bad idea. As he finished eating, he made a decision. He wanted to take her home, but Overdrive needed to know if she was OK with it.

After throwing his plate out, and returning is coffee mug, he returned to his room. He tried quietly sneaking back in, but the click of the door closing caused her to stir awake.

“Hello? Who’s there?” she asked, with her eyes still closed. She slowly began to wake up with each passing minute.

“Hello,” Overdrive answered. He didn’t want to get too close, so he kept his distance.

After hearing the new voice, Violet immediately popped awake. She took a quick look around her, noticing she was in a hotel room, instead of sleeping in the alleyway. “Where am I, and who are you?” she asked, looking directly at Overdrive.

Overdrive came over to the bed. “Do you mind if I sit down next to you?” Violet nodded, and he proceeded to sit down next to her. “My name is Overdrive, and you’re in my hotel room. What’s your name?”

Violet Skye was shy, and was reluctant to say any more. “You can tell me,” Overdrive said. “I’m not going to hurt you.”

She felt a bit better after hearing that. “I’m- I’m Violet Skye.” She took another quick look around the room, and then asked “How did I get here?”

Overdrive answered, “I was walking through the city, and I walked passed an alleyway, I saw you asleep in it, so I scooped you up, and brought you here.”

At first, she was shocked and taken aback. After a few seconds, she began to cry, and immediately hugged Overdrive. “Thank you. THANK YOU!” she cried out. She literally couldn’t believe someone took the time to care for her. “No one’s cared for me like this before.”

Overdrive said nothing, and hugged her back as well. “Violet, can I ask you a question?” She softly nodded. Overdrive choked up a bit, and then asked, “Do you want to come home with me?”

Hearing the question, Violet’s eyes began to water. She immediately grabbed Overdrive, and hugged him as tight as she could. “Please can I… daddy?”

All Overdrive could do was smile. He smiled, and cried alongside Violet Skye. “Yes sweetie… you can come home with me.” At that moment, they both sat there, gripping each other tight. Both of them were the happiest they had ever felt, and for once in their lives, a miracle just occurred.
