This Dream...?

I knew from the start that this day would be rather interesting. Something was supposed to happen. I couldn’t see the sky cause I’m blind, but ... the air felt disturbed. It was unstable, changing its power and direction rapidly. The Pegasus didn’t do a good work today. Or did they ? Or this was just a sign that something sinister is coming ? I could care less,  I thought it wouldn’t concern me... That’s what I ‘thought’ at least.

I shook off this hard thinking. It was making my head just dizzy ! I casted Insight and quickly checked the sky. Kind of dark... Something was sure to happen. I was told that somepony called Twilight Sparkle could knew more. She was in the library – place I really don’t like to visit. I haven’t read anything since years ! Well ... besides that one ‘letter’ for me from Fillydelphia. But that doesn’t count!

Good that i know Ponyville very well. I could locate my way through whole town with just my memory. It just took more time, i had to be careful so i wouldn’t fall, trip or run into somepony.         I entered the library. It looked like a big tree. I actually like such design – so natural! When I went inside, a small creature came to me. He ... looked like a dragon. But why so small dragon?

“How can i help you miss?!” he said happily. He made a good impression – eloquent, smiling, clean. You couldn’t say that about me for sure ... I looked kind of , hehe , surprised and messy.

“H-hello ? Are you Twilight Sparkle by any chance?” I glared at him. Could he really be the one ?

The dragon started to laugh. “ Twilight ? Me ? No ,no ,no ! I’m her ‘Nr 1 Assistant!’ My name is Spike!” He looked like he was an okay guy. And I was right about him !

I extended my hoof to him. “Pleased to meet you Spike ! My name is Nina! Can i meet with Twilight ?” I didn’t hide that meeting HER was my objective - not HIM.

“If you can wait, she’s very busy right now!” he grabbed my hoof and shook it gently. I took it back , then noticed that he was ... staring at me. What was so weird about me ? “ Say ... why are you using magic right now Nina ? Your horn is glowing but nothing happens around. Are you a gifted unicorn like Twilight ? ” he smiled at me but I didn’t share this feeling.

“ You’ll see later ! How long will it take her to find time for me ? “ This couldn’t wait. That uneasy feeling was just killing me ! “This is a bit important thing ... “

He shrugged slightly, but he walked to the stairs. I thought that he was going for her but he just shouted “ TWILIGHT!!! A VISITOR IS HERE FOR SOMETHING!!!”. This ... almost damaged my ears. I had to forcefully stop using my spell ! The headache would just get worse. He noticed that , when he was coming back to me. “ Oh Nina ! You stopped using magic ? What happened ? “ I can imagine that he was waiting for something interesting to happen... tough luck.

I closed my grey eyes. They are not something to be proud of , especially in presence of other ponies ... or dragons! “ I just ... need to use magic from time to time ! Nothing personal. “ I said , looking in front of me. I also hoped that I was looking in his direction, so he wouldn’t ask too many questions.

“It’s all right but ... why are you not looking at me when you talk to me ? “ he sounded a bit curious. I guess it’s fine to tell him. To be honest , I don’t know why I ever hid this fact. It was not a secret, not even slightly.

I sighed and sat on the ground “ I just need to use magic to see.  Look... I’m blind and I created this ‘Insight’ spell 3 years ago. It allows me to regain sight for not long. Very efficient i must say!” I was proud of this ! I managed to invent this spell alone. When you are in darkness for so long, you just do whatever you can. I was having fun with ... magic. And this turned out to be a lifesaver!

“Oh ... I’m sorry ! I didn’t know. I shouldn’t have asked. This isn’t something you share with anyone. I’ll go and call Twilight to you. You’re waiting for her for too long.” he disappeared upstairs. I took this chance to get a deep breath of air and lie on the ground. This is my way of ultimate relax! And it always works !

Time slowly passed. 10 minutes felt like 2 hours in this boring library and the smell of wood and old books just made you very sleepy there.

I finally heard somepony trotting to me. “ Oh gosh , are you okay Nina ?! Why are you lying on ground like that ?!” Some mare was talking to me, worried. I had to get up, or at least sit.

I changed my position and sat on the ground. I smiled , not knowing if I smile at her, or at Spike , or at wall. I was too ‘relaxed’ to use magic now. “ I was just ~yawn~ relaxing ! How you know my name ? Did Spike tell you ? “

The mare sounded a bit ... smart. Very smart i would say. And very polite too. “ I casted an identification spell ! I know quite something about you Nina. And that you’re blind... I’m so sorry about this ! My name is Twilight Sparkle and I’m at your service ! The only thing I want in return is that you teach me that ‘Insight’ spell ! This could help me so much with my studies!” I heard that enthusiasm in her last words. A pony who lives in library had to be an ... egghead. Not that I have anything against these !

I used my magic and opened eyes, looking at Twilight. She even had the look of a smart pony. “ I’ll teach you later but first , i need information about today... Have you noticed a change ? “ I wondered if that pony even came out of her library today.

“Mhm. I still feel disturbance in the air. But I almost know nothing strange will happen ! You shouldn’t worry about this. The weather will get fixed by Rainbow Dash and her group of pegasi.” She sounded very confident – this matter looked just ... too weird for me to be ‘just the weather’.

“So ... you are sure that I shouldn’t worry about it ? I’m almost certain that something bad will happen ! How can you be so confident ? “ I had to ask. She looked very smart and trustworthy ... not to mention that she was this ‘Element of Harmony’ something. Whatever that is!

“I’m not sure, but something like this shouldn’t concern such young filly as you ! “ She was patting my mane , smiling. I blushed immediately at this act. I guess I just VERY like when somepony is saying nice things about me.

I just nodded and thought that I would be on my way. My mission was done and I didn’t need to lose more time here but , when i turned back, I saw Spike carrying a weird vial with some kind of dust. That also wouldn’t concern me if not the fact that he tripped and thrown this dust at me. I felt like i was stroke with lightning. Paralyzed, strength-less, weak... I fell unconscious.

“Sweet Celestia, Nina, are you ok?!” Twilight was calling me ... I still couldn’t move my body but I managed to answer “ I g-guess ... this d-dust was something y-yours ? W-why it had such effect on m-me ?”. Twilight used her magic and levitated me onto bed. It was one of best solutions. To go to sleep. Simple yet helpful! “Nina ... I don’t know what this dust done to you but ... I think you better go to sleep. We’ll see what happened after you ... wake up.”

That was very reassuring  - ‘ I don’t know what happened but we’ll see later’. I smirked “ Y-you’re right ... I’ll go to sleep right away... “ I didn’t even have to try sleeping ... my body was so weak that it happened so fast, I didn’t notice when. But this dream... was special.
