Gilda and Pinkie Pinkie are not your typical couple by any standards even in Equestria. One is a hyper active fun loving party pony and the other is a cool and aloof gryphon with attitude that has a heart of gold but rarely wants anyone to see it. What makes them so special as a couple? Why is their story of love so unique?

Both the mare and gryphon have truly horrible pasts filled with abuse and violence shadowed by years of feeling alone. Gilda has issues with her past and trusting in others because of years of abuse from a hateful and resentful mother, abandonment issues on the count of her father leaving when she was young and emotional trauma from being alone and unloved for many years. All of this before that fateful night her mother died when she was eighteen. While Pinkie Pie has a dark colored history of past self abuse and behavior problems that landed her in a mental hospital for six years. Its there she was abused by several members of the hospital staff fracturing Pinkie's already abused and fragile mind into four personalities. After a few months of therapy and several medications Pinkie was released.

Now Pinkie and Gilda are in a relationship and trying to live a quiet and normal life. Soon their mettle and ability to heal from past hurts, old secrets, and new pains will be tested. Old wounds they both thought had healed will be reopened as the past comes back to haunt them. Loyalties will be tested, friends will choose sides, secrets will be brought to light as Pinkie and Gilda explore the depths of love. They will find it can have the power to hurt and to heal as they experience an Abuse of Love.

Set after the events of Season 4 with only a few changes to the cannon which will be explained in the story as it unfolds.
