Chapter 2: A Brewing Storm and Apologies

By the time she finished brushing out the mare's tail the hen was more relaxed and comfortable with brushing Pinkie's mane and tail.

The couple quickly shared and hug before Pinkie got dressed and they went back downstairs. In all the whole encounter had taken 45 minutes and Gilda felt relaxed enough to deal with Applejack and the earlier scuffle outside.

“Hey Gilda what took you guys so long? Were you up there getting one in, huh?” Dash asked as she hugged Twilight close.

“Dashie! Why would you ask something so... private?” Twilight asked as she glared the rainbow maned mare.

“It's okay Twilight. Dash has always been a pervert so now biggie. Beside with the way your glaring at her I'd be surprised if Dash will be getting any flank anytime soon.” Gilda said with a laugh. “Have fun sleeping on the couch tonight Dash.” All of the girls had a laugh at that, save Twilight who was still glaring at Rainbow Dash.

“Gilda do you have any extra pillows and blankets?” Twilight ask without taking her eyes off Rainbow Dash.

“Yeah, tons of them. Why do you ask Twilight?” Gilda ask wonder why Twilight would need extra pillows and a blanket.

“Oh simple really, Rainbow Dash will need them since she will be spending the night on your couch. As she won't be spending the night with me.” Twilight replied.

“Oh serious Twilight, it was just a joke. Come on, stop being like that. You really wouldn't make me sleep on the couch would you?” Rainbow Dash asked a bit worried that Twilight would kick her out of bed tonight.

Twilight turned away and was silent letting Dash's worry grow until it look like the cyan pegasus was going to pass out. The lavender mare giggle lightly before looking back at Dash. “Got you.”

Everyone had good laugh as Rainbow Dash breathed a sigh of relief before she started play fighting and kissing Twilight.

While the other were engaging in small talk Gilda turned to stare at Applejack. “Hey Applejack can I talk to you in the kitchen for a minute.” Gilda said causal before she kissed Pinkie on the cheek then she walked in the kitchen.

Rarity knew this moment would come sooner or later that night but she was a bit surprised that Gilda had called Applejack into the kitchen to speak with her alone. Rarity looked over at Applejack who was also bit surprised too but the unicorn mare could see that her fillyfriend had a strange look in her eyes. The look was a mix of 'alright I get to finish it and that was surprising'. Before she would let Applejack go talk to Gilda, Rarity was going to remind the orange mare of her promise just to make sure they could keep the peace. After all they were all staying the night, hopefully.

“Applejack, darling do try to not pick another fight with Gilda this time. Just apologize and don't give her one of your angry half apologies half criticisms. You know the ones you like to use when you don't really want to say sorry.” Rarity said softly when Applejack started to get up.

Applejack paused for a moment as she thought over Rarity's words and her earlier conversation with the mare. Rarity was right AJ did often give out halfhearted apologizes when she felt she shouldn't have to say sorry. The difference this time was she wouldn’t do that. This time AJ would really say sorry but also get some answers about Gilda's fight with Pinkie while she was doing it.

“Ah know Rarity and Ah promised yah Ah wouldn't start anything. Ah'll give Gilda ah right proper apology like Ah'm suppose ta. Don't yah worry none bout that.” Applejack told her fillyfriend before she give her an honest smile then got up and walked into the kitchen.

Gilda was standing next to the sink drinking a glass of water when Applejack walked in and stood next to the door with her arms folded across her chest. “While Ah'm here. So what did yah want ta talk 'bout?” Applejack asked as she brashly stared at Gilda.

Gilda put the empty glass down on the counter before she turned to face Applejack. For awhile neither the mare nor the hen spoke, they just stared at each other. It was almost a minute later when Gilda cleared her throat before she started to speak. “Look Applejack I'm sor-sorry about what I said and hitting you earlier. It was uncalled for since you were just trying to help Pinkie. I know that gryphons are known for their tempers and can be violent even at the best of times but I swear to you I wasn't going to hurt Pinkie. I would sooner leave her then hit her.”

“If'n that's true why the hay were yah shakin' Pinkie like that? What was really goin' on Gilda? Come clean and don't yah try and give me none of that we weren't fightin' horsepucky. Ah know a fight when Ah see one.” Applejack said and she gave Gilda a stern look.

“Okay I'll come clean. It was true, we were fighting but its not what you think.” Gilda said in a her defense and she held up her hands. “Pinkie and I got into fight because she was having a panic attack about me being late. I had an emergency delivery at work that took up most of the day and I almost missed the last train home. When I got here she started freaking out about me being late and we got into it. I never should have shook her or yelled at her like that but I wasn't going to hurt her. I love her too much to ever do anything to harm her.”

“Okay. Say Ah do believe yah on that. Why didn't yah just say that before we got into it out front?” Applejack asked as she eyed Gilda carefully. It was odd to the farm mare that Gilda was being so forth coming and was being very apologetic.

“Given our past history would you have readily or willingly listened to me then as you are now?” The gryphon hen asked with her head lowered.

“Ah see yer point on that and Ah'm sorry too. Ah shouldn't have thought the worst of yah before hearin' the whole story. Ah know that you and Ah haven't been on the best of terms since yah started datin' Pinkie and all but Ah'm not a tribalist or nothin' but...” Applejack trailed off as she thought about her cousin.

“Applejack, look I get that gryphon-pony relationships are sometimes way off balance and can end... messy on both sides... The thing is that I don't want to make you or any of the other girls worry that I might hurt Pinkie Pie. I know you and the others are important to her and... to me as well so I'm sorry. I'm really sorry and I hope that... what I'm trying to say... is that I want... I want us to start over and try and be friends for real this time.” Gilda said with a blush marring her features as she shifted uncomfortably in front of the sink.

Applejack shifted uncomfortably as well as she thought over what Gilda had just said. It wasn't like the farm mare didn't want to try and like Gilda it was just hard. So many things were in the way. Gilda and Applejack had been enemies of sort since the whole outburst Gilda had five years ago. The whole incident with Posie had Applejack worried about Gilda being just like most gryphons in relationships with ponies. All you ever read about in the papers or hear others saying on the subject is how violent and abusive gryphons are to their pony partners. Then there was Applejack's stubborn nature and how Gilda first impression had colored AJ's thoughts about her. But now Gilda was standing there asking to start over and try to be a good friend to Applejack because she truly loved Pinkie. The gryphon hen had even admitted that all of the girls were important to her just as much as they were to Pinkie. So why did Applejack feel like an ass for what she thought about Gilda earlier? Part of her felt she had the right to just paint Gilda as an abusive monster but another part of AJ told she was wrong for feeling that way. Gilda was trying to be better the the nasty image Applejack had of gryphons so AJ had try and give her the benefit of the doubt. It was honest thing to do.

“Okay Gilda Ah will try ta be friends with yah. Ah know it took a lot ta ask that and say what yah said. As the Element of Honesty Ah will honestly try if'n yer willin' ta be honest with me and the others when things are goin' wrong with you and Pinkie.” Applejack said as she offered her hand to Gilda, “So what do yah say, do we have a deal partner?”

Gilda consider Applejack's words for a moment. If she she agreed to this at some point she would have to tell the others about Pinkie's condition and about the medications the mare was taking to keep her stable. That was something she promise she would never do. On the other hand if she didn't at least try to be on good terms with Applejack and the others every time Pinkie had an episode they would think she was just hurting Pinkie. That was something Gilda would never let happen so she only had one choice. That was to get closer to Applejack and the other girls and at some point tell them the whole true and pray for the best outcome.

“Okay Applejack. I will try my hardest. I may mess up every now and then but I promise you I will try my hardest to be honest with you about what's going on with Pinkie and I. Just promise me that you will keep an open mind and hear me out about what happened before you decide to do anything about it, okay?” Gilda asked as she took hold of Applejack's hand and shook it firmly.

“Yah got a deal partner, but remember yah have ta come me tell the whole truth even if it makes yah look bad in mah eyes. Ah know no ponies perfect and we all make mistakes but that's why we have friends ta rely on.” Applejack told Gilda with a soft smile as she shook her hand.

“I know that now and I'll try to remember that in the future when I have a problem. Thanks for being understanding about this Applejack.”

“No problem Gilda. 'Sides if'n Ah hadn't come and said Ah was sorry and made this right Rarity would have had my tail in a sling for weeks. That mare can be powerful scary when she's mad at yah.” Applejack said with a laugh.

“Don't I know it. I work for the mare and she can be a real slave driver too when a deadline is close.” Gilda added seconds later and laughed with Applejack.

After good round of laughter Applejack helped Gilda get some drinks and snacks for the others before going into the living room. When the mare and gryphon entered the room with trays of snacks and drinks they found the others is in the middle of a Battle For Equestria game. Rarity and Twilight were facing off against Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash with Fluttershy being game master.

As Gilda sat the drinks down she stared at the board and could see that Pinkie and Dash were winning so far as the changeling armies had half of Equestria conquered and Twilight's Sun Guard Forces where down to just 12 units while the changelings were 30 units strong. Rarity had pulled her 20 Lunar Guard Units back to Canterlot to try and regroup while Twilight was trying to defend Ponyville and her castle with all she had. Fluttershy's Pegasus Contingent was 54 units strong but for the most part hadn't left Cloudsdale or the part of the Everfree Forest she controlled. Not that anypony would leave the Everfree when they controlled the Tree of Harmony and was getting five extra units a turn.

It was team Rarelight's and Twilight was taking time working out a plan of attack with Rarity so Gilda took that time to call Rainbow Dash into kitchen.

“Hey sorry to interrupt your game but I need to ask you if you have that bottle of pills I left with you?” Gilda asked softly.

“Yeah I have them. I usually have them when I come to visit you, why?” Dash asked with a raised eyebrow, “What are those pills for anyway? I looked them up in one of Twilight's medical text books and it said that Aripiprazole Topiramate is a mixed drug used to treat depression, Schizoaffective disorder, and host of stuff that I couldn't pronounce or understand. ”

Gilda froze up for a second since she was surprised that Dash would take the time to look up what the medication was and its uses. Gilda silently thanked The Great Talons that she had torn Pinkie's name off the bottle otherwise she would have lot of explaining to do.

“Well to tell you the truth Dash Aripiprazole Topiramate is used for all the stuff you mentioned but I take it as a mood stabilizer. It keeps me for getting too angry. I'm still dealing with some issues from when I was a chick. You remember how my m-m-mother was when we were back at camp?”

“Yeah I remember how it was with your mom. I still kinda have nightmares about that time she threw me out of the house when she caught us kissing that one time. I literally thought she was going to kill me! She was so pissed.” Dash replied. “So are you seeing somepony for all of that stuff?”

“Yeah I am. Its a once a week thing and its helping but I still need the pills. There so I don't you know lose it and do something dangerous or stupid that I will regret.” Gilda lied partially since Pinkie was seeing a Psychiatrist once a week and it was helping but she did need her meds. “I ran out of meds and I won't have time to get my prescription filled until some time tomorrow. I kinda need them right now after the Applejack thing.”

“Yeah I get it. The bottle's in the bag with Twilight and my stuff. Twilight left it upstairs before we walked in on you and Pinkie. I'll go get it for you. Be right back.” Dash said before she left the kitchen and went upstairs to fetch the pill bottle. It was two minutes later she returned to the kitchen with the backpack on her shoulder. It took Dash few seconds to fish the bottle out before she handed it Gilda. “Here you go but you only have like four pills in there.”

“Thanks Dash. I will give the bottle back some time tomorrow with a few more pills in it. This bottle is my emergency stash if run I low like I did this time.” Gilda said a bit sheepishly. “Oh please don't tell the other about this. Pinkie already knows but I'm still trying to deal with my issues and I'm just not ready to talk about it outside of you, Pinkie and Dr. Clear Thought.”

“ Okay I'll keep this hush-hush since it a personal thing. I'm just glad your seeing some on about the stuff with your mom. I know it was hard on you before and after she died.” Dash said solemnly.

“Yeah it was tough growing up with, but I have Pinkie, you, and girls so my life is much better now. I will let go of all of that bad stuff in time so don't worry about it.” Gilda replied softly before taking the pill bottle and slipping it into her pocket. “You should get back to your game. I hope it doesn't end like always does, with you and Pinkie claiming another victory.”

“Well what can I say Pinkie and I are an awesome team when comes to Battle for Equestria.” Dash replied as she walked back out to the living room with Gilda right behind her.

Once in the living Gilda took a set at the dinning room table across from Applejack how had pulled out the playing cards and was shuffling them. Dash sat on the couch next to Pinkie who was going over cards since it was Team Changeling's turn next. Soon Gilda and Applejack started up a game of Poker which Gilda was starting to lose at just after only four hands. The other girls were already several turns in the battle for dominance with Team Changeling taking and early lead in army size. Several more turns past with a few battles here and there all the while Fluttershy remained neutral as Team Rarelight and Team Changeling battled for control.

“So Twilight ready to give up Ponyville and run back to Canterlot with Rarity or do we have to wipe you out right here?” Pinkie asked she help up the three red attacks dice.

“Never! I won't ever let Chrysalis have Ponyville or my castle. The changeling hordes are going down this turn. I swear it!” Twilight vowed as she picked up the four white defense dice. “Bring it on Pinkie Pie!”

“Okay Twilight you're going down. I play the Spy Infiltration card. So you lose two units and one defense die.” Rainbow Dash said as she dropped the card from her hand.

“Ha, I saw that coming so I play the Surprise Attack, the Double Agent, and Reinforcements from the Rear cards. The Surprise Attack card gives me three extra units for this battle, the Double Agent card cancels out your Spy Infiltration card as well as converts one die worth of your units to my side.” Twilight said as she rolled the die and got a six.

“Yes, yes, yes, yes yes! I got six changeling units. Now to resolve the Reinforcements from the Rear card. I will roll two dice and if I get seven or higher I get to double my units for this battle but if I get a six or lower I only get five additional units for this battle. If I roll a 12 I get to double my units for this battle and you lose four units.” Twilight pick up the two white dice and rolled coming up with an four and a five. “All right now I got a nine so that gives 42 units for this battle, 30 Sun Guard Forces and 12 Changeling Horde units that are now shape shifted into unicorns. The changeling units give me an additional two defense dice. So still want to attack me?”

“Dang, I should have known she would hold back some defense cards once we got the Horde Engine going. So what do we do now Queen Pinkie.” Dash said to her game partner with a frown.

“We let her go for now General Dashie, we let her go. The Horde Engine is more important then taking the Castle of Friendship... for now.” Pinkie said with eyes narrowed. “I'll add four tokens to our Horde Engine to give us a total of 16 tokens so we will get eight new units next turn. So for now the Changeling Hordes pass our turn.”

Pinkie Pie handed the attack dice to Fluttershy although everypony knew Fluttershy wouldn't attack. Fluttershy set them back on the table as she looked at the cards in her hand. Fluttershy seemed to be lost in intense thought for a moment before she selected a card and placed it on the table, “I play the Safe Passage and Treaty Card all enemy forces for the next 2 turns can't attack of defend but gain four additional units each turn. If that's okay with everypony.”

“Oww come on Fluttershy you have the biggest army on the board, attack one of us already.” Rainbow Dash grumbled as she pointed to Fluttershy's army. “At least take out Twilight or something, This games going to be boring if me and Pinkie Pie win with the Horde Engine this time.”

“Rainbow Dash what makes you think you and Pinkie Pie are going to win this game? Until the beginning of our turn Twilight will have 42 units and 6 defense dice. Not to mention I still have Luna's Blessing in play; which allows me to aid Twilight in one battle of my choosing.”

“Come off it Rarity we all know you're not one for messy conflicts. I mean you did abandon Twilight and run back to Canterlot, didn't you?” Rainbow dash asked as she pointed to the Canterlot section of the board.

“Hey that's right you did leave me all alone in Ponyville when Pinkie and Rainbow Dash showed up! I thought the sun and the moon were standing together Rarity?” Twilight asked before she started arguing with Rarity about their strategy.

While Rarity and Twilight were arguing Pinkie and Dash were giggling as they high-fived, seems that their little plan to get Rarity and Twilight to fight among themselves was working. Fluttershy just sighed as she added her additional 10 units to her army before she passed her turn.

Rarity picked up the attack dice as she eyed Twilight menacingly, “Fine if that's the way you want it Twilight. The Lunar Guard shall just defend Canterlot. You and your forces are on their own.”

“Fine by me Rarity the Lunar Guard was just holding the Sun Guard back anyway. Once the Changeling threat has been dealt with I am ousting the Lunar Guard and ruling Equestria alone.”

“If that's the way you want it Twilight. I play the Force Separation card, this allows me to declare one area on the board its own separate land. I was going to use this to break the Changeling hordes in to two separate hives and make them fight over who would get the Horde engine. But since you want to be rid of the Lunar Guard so bad, this card means our partnership is over and the Sun Guard Forces our now our enemies as well.” Rarity laid the card on the table before adding her additional 6 units then passing the attack dice to Twilight. “Good luck defending your kingdom. Darling.”

Twilight growled in frustration as her army of 42 units was reduced to 21. Now with Rarity as an enemy she had a lot more to worry about. She then face-palmed as she realized she had fallen into Rainbow Dash's trap yet again. She had let a little detail cause her to forget the bigger picture. All she could do now was try to hold onto Ponyville for at least another 3 turns. With everypony being unable to attack for the next 2 turns she had time to move her forces to Baltimare to gain additional units for the coming battle. Twilight picked up two of the white dice and rolled them getting a 4 and a 2 giving her enough movement to get to Baltimare.

Fluttershy handed Twilight the Baltimare army card and the 12 units that came along with it giving her 32. After arranging her army and drawing a new card from the deck Twilight passed her turn.

For the next half an hour none of the players attacked just built impressively large armies to the point it was a Mexicolt Standoff. Halfway through this process Gilda and Applejack got bored and started playing cards. Applejack and Gilda were in the middle of 9th hand of poker with Gilda owing Applejack 112 bits when a knock was heard at the front door.

Pinkie looked up and was about to get the door when Gilda stood and waved for her to sit before going to the front door. Another set of knocks came when Gilda reached the door, she quickly asked the pony to give her a minute. When she opened the door she was greeted by the sight of Discord holding 4 pizza's and a bag of assorted alcohol.

“Wait a second. If your hands are full how did you knock on the door?” Gilda asked puzzled by how Discord had knocked on the door.

“You should know better than to ask a magician his tricks milady.” Discord chimed as he stepped past Gilda into the house. “Now; what are my favorite fillies doing?”

Gilda just shook her head at Discord dismissing his game as something unimportant. “Your favorite fillies as you call them are in the middle of that Battle for Equestria game, again. I'm currently in the middle of losing to Applejack at poker, but I'm gonna turn it around and get back every bit I just lost.”

Discord just chuckled at the fact that even he couldn't beat Applejack at poker. Which meant there was no way that Gilda was going to win. “Whatever you say Gilda. Have fun with that. Oh I better get in there and set these pizzas down before they get cold. You still like meat lovers pizza, right?” Discord asked as he walked into the living room.

“Yeah. But no anchovies this time. I hate anchovies.” Gilda said with a small shudder racking her frame. She closed the door locking it with the deadbolt. She then went back to her game with Applejack, losing terribly.

Discord looked around the group of his friends and shook his head. It seemed that whenever they had a night in together the Battle for Equestria game always made an appearance. Discord took a chance to look over the board noticing that they had built four large armies and were in a standoff of epic proportions. After setting the pizzas and large amount of alcohol down by Gilda and Applejack he moved to sit by Fluttershy and leaned over her shoulder looking at her hand.

Fluttershy noticed the presence of someone next to her, she slowly turned her head and was greeted by the sight of Discord which caused her to jump slightly. Fluttershy immediately squee'd before hugging Discord tightly. “Oh Discord I'm so glad to see you. I thought you weren't going to make it because of that thing with the princess?” Fluttershy asked before giving Discord a kiss on the cheek.

“She will understand my dear I told her that I would be spending tonight with my friends. She'll be fine I'll just reschedule it for a later date, although as I was leave the sound of the guards scrambling for cover proved she was upset about that.” Discord said as he wrapped Fluttershy in his arms and laid his head on top of hers.

“Discord you player, you. Dating Fluttershy and got a princess on the hook. One might say your trying to compete with me on who has the best princess.”Rainbow Dash teased as she raised an eyebrow in Discord's direction.

“Dashie! You shouldn't be so rude.” Twilight said while glaring at her marefriend. Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes at the over the top reaction from Twilight.

“Don't worry Twilight I know Celestia and Discord are friends and Rainbow Dash is just teasing. Discord and I love each other very deeply and I know Celestia wouldn't get in the way of that.” Fluttershy said waving Twilight off before she buried her face in Discord's neck and whispered, ”If she did I would just CRUSH the life out of her anyways because Discord is MINE...”

All activity in the room suddenly stopped as everypony turned to look at Fluttershy so innocently buried in Discord's neck. Everyone was in disbelief at what Fluttershy had whispered but knew if worst came to worst it would most likely happen and be a lot more violent than anyone wanted to imagine. The room was deathly quiet for a few minutes as everyone tried to get the image of Flutter-rage being unleashed on Celestia out of their minds, all except maybe Discord.

Not that I would want Fluttershy to become that violent, but the thought of Celly getting her immortal backside kicked by my mare in a fit of jealousy is quite appealing, Discord thought as he scratched his chin as he briefly imagined the situation.

I so totally just didn't hear that, but it would be awesome and terrifying to see that fight go down, Rainbow Dash thought before she shook her head to rid herself of that image. “While that's awesome about Fluttershy and Discord's love, can we get back to this game that Pinkie and I were winning?”

Fluttershy lifted her head from Discord's neck, “What makes you think your winning? If you don't mind me asking that is.”

“I'd like to know that too Darling.” Rarity added as she turned to face Rainbow Dash.

“Now, Now Ladies there is no need to fight over who's winning as this game is now over since Fluttershy has the winning card in her and it seems its her turn now.” Discord said in factual tone.

Rainbow Dash and Pinkie just laughed as the others looked on in disbelief at Discord's but Discord just smiled knowingly before he whispered some instructions in Fluttershy's ear. Fluttershy nodded then pick up the dice right before she played the card Discord had pointed out.

“I play the Discord of Chaos Exclaimed card, this card allows me to roll two dice and based on the number I roll I get an effect.” Fluttershy said as she got ready to roll the dice.

“Oh no, if she plays that card she could wipe all of us out this turn.” Twilight exclaimed before she looked thru her hand for card to stop Fluttershy but found nothing that would help.

“Ha, I knew this might happen so I held on to the False Start card just in case somepony tried this risky gamble for a win.” Rainbow Dash said with a laugh as she laid the card on the table. “Now Fluttershy you card is useless cause I negate its activation and you lost half your armies. But the downside is we lose Five units and six tokens on the horde engine.”

“That might be the case if I didn't have this card Dashie. I play the Elements of Harmony Reborn card, this allows me to negate any card played this turn and prevents any cards form other players from being played. Sorry for that but you still have pay activation cost of False Start. “Flutter informed Rainbow Dash before she rolled the dice getting two 5's. “I rolled a ten so I get the Discord of Requiem effect. All armies outside of the Tree of Harmony protection get reduced to only five units. Plus I get a boost in units equal to the the number of units lost divided by the number of players.” Fluttershy told everyone.

“No way! We just lost 400 units and our horde engine is destroyed.!” Rainbow Dash whined.

“No, no, no, no, no, no this can't be happening. I can't lose Ponyville and my castle before I free Canterlot from Rarity. What would Celestia think if I lost her home like this!?” Twilight said in a panic as she tried to find away out of this losing situation.

“Well it looks like Fluttershy's going to get 160 units add to her 300 units. That means she has more than enough units to attack all of us at once. She also will be able defend Cloudsdale should anything go wrong if she only sends half her army off to attack.” Rarity added before tossing her hair.” I do so hate losing my new boutique in Canterlot this soon, but fashion will solider on somehow.”

After a few rolls of the attack dice followed by so many apologize Fluttershy sweep across the board taking territory after territory until she had Twilight cornered in Ponyville. With pleading eyes Fluttershy asked Twilight to just give up but Princess of Friendship wasn't going down without a fight. It was a valiant effort on the Princess' part but in the end Fluttershy's army was just to large for Twilight to over come with just five units. In the end Fluttershy had won with just one card like Discord had said she would but Pinkie and Dash were taking it a bit hard.

It was a bittersweet ending for Fluttershy as it was her first win ever in Battle for Equestria and the first time Pinkie and Dashie had lost while using the Horde Engine. While she was happy with her win and the ability to chose the next game Fluttershy was still a bit sad that she had to make Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie admit defeat at one of their favorite games.

“Now that is over with and Fluttershy has our next choice of activity we should partake in the evening meal that Discord has so generously provided for us. There is an all veggie pizza this time, Discord?” Rarity asked as she got from the living room table and head for the dinning room table.

“Oh yes I didn't forget this time and I'm so sorry about the meat lovers pizza thing at our last get together. I mean I didn't know you would have fainting spell over the whole thing.” Discord replied as he got up with Fluttershy to get pizza.

“It's okay darling I forgave you as you didn't know that I had never had meat before or that I was allergic to real bacon. I didn't know that for that matter, so worry not.” Rarity told Discord as they all sat down to eat.

“Well that's the end of that Gilda and ya get away with only ownin' me 60 bits this time 'round.” Applejack said with a laugh as she put the playing cards away then pulled out a chair for Rarity to sit next to her.

“Yeah I know I'll settle up with ya after food. Don't think I'm losing to you again Applejack. I'm beginning to see a pattern in your betting and you do have a tell I just not sure if I have figured it out yet.”

“Well Ah'm look forward ta finally find someone that can actually beat me at poker. Even Discord loses his shirt ta me every time we play.” AJ laughed and she pointed a thumb at Discord.

“Oh that was just one time Applejack! I plan on winning that shirt back in the near future.” Discord said with a look of slight displeasure on his face.

“Good luck that 'cause Rarity loves me in that shirt and Ah plan on wearin' it real soon. Ah kind of like it as it makes my girls look real good. Aint that right, Rarity?” Applejack asked as she gave Rarity a knowing look.

“Applejack, darling, not outside the bedroom!” Rarity said with a deep blush on her face.

“You better not has stain my beloved shirt...” Discord paused for a moment as he thought about what Rarity and Applejack had just said about the shirt in question. “On second thought you can keep the shirt, I don't want it back.”

“Really? Ah was of half a mind ta just give back ta ya. Are ya sure ya don't want it back?” Applejack asked with a half smile.

“No, no just keep the shirt. Con... consider it a gift from me to you.” Discord said quickly as he shook nervously.

“That's awful nice of you Discord, are you sure you want to do that? I mean you did look really debonair in that shirt. It be a shame to lose it if you don't mind me saying.” Fluttershy told Discord softly.

“It's okay Fluttershy I can always get another just like it. After all its just a shirt.” Discord said nonchalantly as he wave off the subject of his lost one of a kind shirt. The true was it was the only shirt of its kind and could never be replaced. Made from fabric designed to resist pure chaos magic. A shirt that was nearly indestructible even by a being as powerful as Discord. Made from a formula that has since been lost to time.

Everyone had a good laugh at Discord's discomfort over the the lose of the shirt before everyone dug into the pizza and fixed drinks. Soon there was talk of the next activity to be had, Fluttershy had chosen to watch movies for the rest of the night. To everyone surprise Rainbow Dashed agreed as she cuddled up with Twilight on the loveseat as Rarity popped in Nightmare on Clover Way Part 3 Nightmare's Revenge into the dvd player.
