NEXT MORNING

The next morning, I was alone in the bed. I got up and put on my shirt. Walking out of the room, something felt out of place. The house was too...quiet.

"Lyra? Bon Bon? You guys, err, gals, here? Hello?" Nothing. "Where are they?" I asked myself.

I went outside. It was bright, seemed to be around noon, yet no pony in sight, nor any noise. I pinched my arm, wincing as I realized I pinched it too hard. Awake. The area around me became dark as huge, charcoal clouds hovered into view.

"Ah, shit! I thought pegasi said the skies were supposed to be clear for the next few weeks?" I trudged through the empty, soaking wet streets of Ponyville, wondering where the heck everybody went as a light fog rolled in. If this was one of Pinky Pie's parties for me, then she would leave at least ONE pony to guide me to the party. Scratch that option off the list. Was it some holiday I don't know about? Most likely not.

It was about ten minutes of walking before I saw something very out of place. The ground had jet black streaks in it, leading to a large crystal of the same color bursting out of the ground. More crystals started bursting out of the ground all around me. I heard a small chuckle from behind me. A very familiar chuckle. His chuckle.

I ran as fast as my legs could carry, just barely dodging crystals sprouting up from the earth beneath me. Pretty soon, I had made it to my home. The crystals stopped coming after I crossed that bridge to my house. I had to get to my katana. I rummaged throughout the house, throwing bottles, books, and other miscellaneous items. Nothing.

I didn't stop, however, until the he spoke. "Looking for this?"

Turning around, the katana was jammed into my left shoulder, going through and jamming into the wall behind as a large shadowy figure cornered me while I screamed in agony.

"I've been waiting for this moment..." It said. The two green eyes flashed in front of me, and everything went black.

I awoke again in a dark cave, gasping for air. My shoulder felt fine, and my katana was a few feet away from me, jammed into the ground. The place was littered with green crystals, and Queen Chrysalis was standing a few feet away.

I growled. "You...why won't you die?!" I got up and reached for the katana, but not before she blew up into a black smoke and th crystals turned black. "What the?!"

"HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!! You seriously thought that it was her? She died from starvation long before you even came to this world! They were clones...all of them clones. I created those mutant timberwolves too. They were all to make sure you die! Hehehe....Enough talk. Let's get straight to the point. You're no hero. You've never killed a true threat. You've never killed a true villain. And now....you...will......DIE!!!"

The black fog flew in from all the crystals, and swirled around like mad. His eyes were glowing from the cyclone, and staring directly at me. The cyclone of black smoke calmed down, and a black unicorn with green eyes with purple strands flowing from the corners, an armor of some sort, and a long red horn that was black as his coat at the base.

He smirked evilly. "You should know me. For I am King Sombra! Once ruler of the Crystal Empire! And your doom.....as well as the doom of your friend.....Lyra is it?" He started to slowly walked forward. "Oh...yes it was Lyra. She kept babbling on about how you were going to save her and everypony else. Ugh, she was such a nuisance, but luckily I had dealt with her."

I yanked the katana out of the ground, my trademark white glow appearing. "What did you do with Lyra?!?!"

His horn lit up as a beam shot at my chest. The pain was intense. My white glow faded away and seemed to get sucked into the beam and traveled to Sombra. After he was done firing, I felt drained, weak. I felt like that all the strength in my body had been sucked out. So weak, I fell to the ground, dropping the katana a few feet away.

Sudden pain struck through my back as King Sombra stomped on it and dug his hoof in. "How does it feel to have your magic taken away?"

He reached for my katana blade and picked it up in his mouth. After a couple seconds, he thrust the katana into my left shoulder.

"I healed your shoulder, thinking that you'd be stronger with it fixed, yet here I am, injuring it again." He mocked.

The katana was now slashing back and forth inside my shoulder, tearing it to the point of no repair. I was now yelling at the top of my lungs from the intense pain. It was unbearable. I was feeling weaker than ever from the blood loss. I thought that I was dead. I thought that right here, right now, I would die, and King Sombra would win.

The world started to fade. Everything was now a blur. All that I could see was a white, and pink blur fighting a black blur, firing beams of magic at it. It took me a while to realize that Sombra had stopped mauling my shoulder and was fighting the two other blurred objects.

I was then flipped onto my back and lifted into the air. All that I could make out was a dark blue figure in front of me, with the three other blurs still fighting.

My eyes slowly started closing, and I heard a faint call, yelling, "No! No, Roe! Don't die! Stay Awake! No! No! No! No!"

"No!"
