Return of King Sombra

     Twilight Sparkle was having nightmares that night, nightmares of a certain dark king who had once ruled the Crystal Empire. In her mind, that certain king was laughing to himself.

       "So Twilight actually managed to beat Lord Tirek." The Dark King laughed. Twilight tossed and turned as King Sombra was in her mind, but she was unaware of this. Sombra decided it was best to reveal himself to Twilight.

         "Ah, the princess of friendship." He laughed inside her mind. Twilight woke up, looking around the room.

        "Who said that?" She asked.

        "I did." Sombra laughed in her mind. Twilight gasped.

       "No, not possible, you were destroyed by the crystal heart!" Twilight told him.

        "Yes, but a piece of me survived and implanted itself in your mind." Sombra told her.

        "Oh when my friends find out..." Twilight started.

      "Oh but they won't." Sombra said. "You will be my salvation, my way back to life." Sombra laughed again.

        "Yeah, right!" Twilight yelled. "You have no choice, I'm in your mind, remember, I can control it, your thoughts, feelings, everything."  Sombra told her. Twilight remained silent at that last part.

         "Silence, eh? Good choice." Sombra said.

     The next day, Twilight went to Sweet Apple Acres to visit Applejack.

     "Why Howdy, Twilight. How are ya, sugarcube?" Applejack asked.

      "Fine, Applejack." Twilight said. Then, her eyes glowed red with smoke emitting out of them, she shook her head and it stopped.

      "You sure you're fine, Twi?" Applejack asked.

       "Yeah, totally fine." Twilight managed a fake smile. "What?" She asked Sombra in her mind.

         "I told you, I control every bit of you." He stated.

         "Yeah, Yeah, I got it, OK?" She sounded irritated. Sombra remained quiet. Then, Sombra viewed a memory of Fluttershy reforming Discord.

        "So, that little pushover actually managed to reform the master of chaos, eh?" Sombra laughed.

        "Hey! Stay out of my memories!" Twilight warned him.

      "Oh speaking of which, where is Discord anyway?" Sombra asked.

      "None of your damn business." Twilight said with hatred. As if on cue, Discord popped into view.

       "Hello, Twilight!" He laughed. Then, he noticed something different.

       "Why do I sense darkness in you Twilight, that isn't like you at all." Discord said. "Hmm, oh! I got it! You've got a piece of King Sombra in you." Discord noticed. Sombra gasped at that.

     "How did he know that!" Sombra asked himself. Sombra needed a way to corrupt Twilight without her friends noticing.

      Sombra paced in the home he had made in Twilight's head.

         "How can that draconeqqus know about me being in this foolish pony's head!" Sombra asked himself.

        As long as the other ponies didn't find out, Sombra was safe. But for how long? He wondered. His time was close now, on the day of the full moon he would rise again, leaving the body of a weak and helpless Twilight. He had a calendar on when the full moon would appear.

        "OK, the full moon will appear exactly 2 weeks from now, just enough time to corrupt Twilight from within." He laughed. His laugh then turned into an evil, maniacal laugh.

      "King Sombra will rise again." Sombra promised himself. "Oh yes."
