Equestria: Downfall

Prologue

  My name is Berg Electron. I live well I should say “lived” in a small town called Ponyville. I lived a “normal” life as many would say, but that was before the cracks started to open in the ground, that was when my life turned into a nightmare.

Chapter One

The Abyss

  When I opened my eyes all I could see was darkness, I started gasping for air, it felt like I was drowning underwater, but my throat was dry, parched at that. At that moment, a small beam of light shone through the pitch black darkness. So my first thought that went through my mind was. “Try walking towards it, it’s better than staying here.” So I lifted my leg to see if I could walk, and step by step, dazed, confused, I walked along the darkness towards the light. But as I got closer and closer, I started choking, as I felt my lungs filling with smoke and ash, black smoke started to cover the light, I knew that at that moment that this is my end, my death will be in an endless dark abyss. But at that moment, that exact moment that I was going to pass out. I heard a mare’s voice, it was hard to make out what she was saying but one line was crystal clear, “She’s waiting Berg, you don’t want to leave her alone now, do you?”

  At that point I knew exactly what she was talking about, she was talking about my younger sister Ruby Star. Once I heard that, I knew I had to save her from whatever was going on, so I gathered whatever strength I had left in my body and went towards the light. Closer and closer I got to the light, I put aside every other feeling because all I wanted was answers, answers to what had happened to me. I kept going until I was close enough to touch the light, I raised up my hoof with the energy I had left in me and touched the beam of light.

  I woke immediately and gasped for air, I thought all of that was just a bad dream and sat upright, but then I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head, when I reached to the back I felt something, something soft ……. I quickly grabbed and pulled whatever was on the back of my head, but whatever it was it had latched onto the back of my head and wouldn’t let go, but I finally pulled it off …… and what it was, was

…… a monster.
