Baptism by fire
The mirror
Load Full StoryNext ChapterI lift up my bed. Where is that stupid comic? I could of sworn I left it here earlier. I look throughout Twilight's room but still no comic.
"Twilight!" I yell out.
"What?" Replied Twilight.
"Where are my comics?"
"I put them up, a dragon you're age should not be reading stuff like that."
"But I'm almost done with them. I can't just stop in the middle of a story!"
"I don't care, find something else to read."
I stomp back to my bed, deciding that a nap would take away my anger when a familiar feeling tingles in my chest. With a burst of fire, a scroll appears in front of me and falls to the floor. I pick it up and come face to face with the Royal seal.
I know Twilight told me to find something else to read, so I open it up, and start from the top.
"Dear Princess Twilight, We write to you regarding another magical mirror. We have confirmed that it does not lead to the world Sunset Shimmer currently resides. We request that you, and the other Elements should come to the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters as soon as possible. Signed, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna.
"Twilight!"
We enter the worn down castle and make our way to the old throne room.
"Another mirror," Asked Applejack. "You sure Twi?"
"Yes, that's what the princesses told me."
"What did they say?" Asked Rarity.
"Just to come to their old castle."
"Why the old castle? Couldn't they just move the mirror to Canterlot?" Asked Fluttershy.
"Must be really big or dangerous."
"Or both."
We continue walking until we reach a set of large, broken, wooden doors. I put them open, and meet the princess of the sun.
"We came as soon as we could."
Celestia nodded. "Let's not waste time, follow me."
We follow Celestia down into the dungeons, the walls green with moss. We enter a small room, laden with various sizes of mirrors. In the center was a tall, majestic mirror, and unlike the one at Canterlot, was shimmering with hues of red.
"Who could possibly need this many mirrors?" Asked Rainbow Dash.
Ignoring the random comment, I walked up to the smooth surface of the glass.
"Have you found out where it leads?"
"No," answered Luna. "All we know is that it does not lead to the same world as the last."
"And you want us to check it out." Asked Rarity.
"Yes, since Twilight had no problem with the other world, we thought she should go."
"Why aren't one of you going?" Challenged Rainbow.
"Do you really want our enemys to find out that one of the princesses left Equestria, possibly for a long time? Leaving Equestria open to attack."
"Oh," Rainbow, flattened her ears and backed up a few paces.
"When do you want me to go?"
"Right now, if possible." I put a hoof up to the mirror and prepared myself to jump in when a voice cries out behind me.
"Wait, if it is a different world from last time," asked Pinkie Pie, who leapt down to the floor like a puppy that wants to play. "Does that mean we can come?" A chorus of agreements came from the rest of my closest friends.
"I suppose it's okay," said Celestia. "But just be careful, we have no idea what this world contains."
My friends step up to me and look at me, awaiting my command.
"Alright," I said. "Let's go!" With that, we step into the portal. At once, a feeling like being pressed on from all directions surrounds me. I bear through it easily, having gone through the same feeling 4 times already. Suddenly, it feels as if all the air from my lungs is pushed out. I look over my friends, frantically flailing around, obviously going through the same feeling. After what feels like forever, a light shines upon us, signaling the end of the journey between worlds.
We are dropped from a quiet tunnel, into an ear splitting thunder of cracks and whistles.
