Dinky's New Daddy
Previous ChapterNext ChapterDerpy put Dinky to bed after another delicious dinner made by Calvin. Derpy had to hand it to him, his meals were always awesome. Her lunch would make Flitter and Cloudchaser always jealous of the lovely smells wafting from her thermos. Derpy trotted down the stairs to the couch where she found Calvin laid back and relaxing. She flapped her wings and floated on top of him, landing squarely on his chest.
“Well hello love” Calvin said in a mock Trottingham accent.
Derpy giggled and snuggled closer to him.
“Where did you learn to cook so well?” Derpy asked him.
“Well you see, back on Earth, females totally went after guys that could cook. So I learned how to from my mom.” Calvin said.
“So I bet you were drowning in females back home?” She questioned.
“Unfortunately, females back home look more for thinner and more toned guys. I was just some fat loser in most women’s eyes.” Calvin frowned.
“Well you’re a chubby winner to me.” Derpy smiled, “Plus, I love a stallion with extra body heat.”
Calvin let out a laugh.
“You have no idea how many times I used a pick-up line like that and ended up with either a red handprint on my face or alcohol in my eyes.” He chuckled.
“Well it’s safe to say you won’t have to worry about that with me.” Derpy said. ‘
“You know Derpy, I think everypony is wrong about you. You are smart, careful, and drop dead gorgeous. As we used to say back home, never judge a book by its cover” Calvin admitted to the grey pegasus.
Derpy blushed a bright red.
Derpy thought briefly and decided that she wanted to take a chance and ask him.
“Calvin, will you sleep with me tonight?” Derpy asked, looking quite sheepish.
“Like for comfort or...” Calvin asked.
“For comfort. Not that.” She blushed deeply yet could not shake the thought of that out of her head, or her loins.
“I was feeling rather tired anyway. I don’t see why not.” Calvin said.
“Yay!” She bounced lightly on his chest.
Suddenly, Calvin sat up and scooped the mare up in his arms. She squealed in surprise as she was lifted up and cradled by the human. Calvin carried her upstairs to her room. and set her on the bed.
“Let me get changed and I’ll be right back.” Calvin said before walking into his own room.
He returned minutes later as promised wearing gym shorts and a light grey athletic t-shirt that had “FRIARS HOCKEY” written in bright maroon and gold letters on the front. This was the shirt that had made the journey to Equestria with him.
“What’s the stuff on the shirt mean?” Derpy asked.
“It’s where I was going to school before I ended up here. I played a sport called hockey, I’ll explain later tomorrow what that is. I was on the track to becoming a big league player and I was transported here. Not that I mind of course” Calvin explained.
“Cool! You have to tell me about hockey tomorrow! But right now, I think we just need to get some sleep for work tomorrow.” Derpy said through a yawn.
“True.” Calvin said as he made himself comfortable under the sheets.
As soon as he did this, Derpy instantly felt a huge warmth surround her and was drawn like a magnet to him. She put her hooves on his chest as she looked into his light blue eyes.
“Wanna try that kiss again?” Calvin smirked.
“Who am I to say no?” Derpy giggled as she locked lips with him yet again.
Work was slow for Calvin and Derpy the next day, wanting only to return home to see the other. Derpy delivered her mail in almost record time and found herself in the post office with nothing better to do than wait for more mail. Calvin on the other hand, had finished writing every article he had to and sat at his desk in the newspaper office with his fist buried in his cheek, his elbow absorbing the varnished oak wood of the desk.
When 3:00 pm rolled around, both of them punched out and headed home. Derpy arrived home first followed shortly by Calvin.
“Calvin?” Derpy called from the kitchen.
“Yes my bubbly angel?” He purred.
She giggled before continuing.
“Could you go pick DInky up from school and walk her home?” Derpy asked.
“Sure! I’ll be right back!” He called as he headed out the door once again.
The schoolhouse was easy enough to find and Calvin walked up to the building to find the school kids milling about the door.
“Calvin!” Dinky’s voice called out as she bounced over to the human.
“Hi there Dinky!” Calvin got down on his knees and rubbed the filly’s head. She hugged him tightly to her. Calvin almost drew back at the suddenness of the gesture.
He, however, returned her hug with his own as he patted her on her back lightly.
Dinky then dragged him back into the schoolhouse.
“Ms. Cheerilee! This is Calvin!” Dinky shouted to the teached, a light plum colored mare with a pink striped mane and tail.
“Why hello there Calvin! Dinky has been talking about you quite a lot lately.” Cheerilee smiled.
“He’s gonna be my new daddy!” Dinky blurted out.
Calvin’s eyes bugged out as he stared down at Dinky and then back to Cheerilee, who looked thoroughly embarrassed.
“Uh, I’m not so sure about that yet Dinky. You remember what your mom said right?” Calvin said to the filly.
“Yeah but what are the chances she’ll turn you away?” Dinky looked back at Calvin.
“We’ll find out when we get there kiddo.” Calvin said.
“Well I for one am glad Dinky and Derpy have someone special in their lives.” Cheerilee smiled at the pair.
“Nice meeting you Cheerilee!” Calvin said as he began to escort Dinky home.
Dinky would constantly brag about Calvin being her new daddy to the schoolyard kids as they passed by. Calvin needed to bring this up with Derpy as it was a serious matter. The two only were in a relationship for less than a day for Luna’s sake.
As they entered the front door, Dinky set her saddlebags down and plopped herself down on the couch with a book.
Calvin went into the kitchen and found Derpy preparing dinner.
“What the hay do you think you’re doing?” Calvin asked, putting his hands on his hips.
“Making dinner. Why?” Derpy cocked an eyebrow.
“Oh no no no! You are gonna sit next to your daughter on that sofa and talk to her. I’ll take care of dinner.” Calvin said, nudging her away from the counter.
“When did you start giving orders around here?” She asked with a wry smile.
“Since Dinky started calling me her new daddy.” Calvin said, looking Derpy in the eyes.
Her jaw dropped.
“She what?” Derpy whispered.
“Yep, I think everypony with a child that attends school now knows about us.” Calvin said.
“DINKY!” Derpy shouted as she stomped into the living room.
Calvin did not want to be present for what was to follow, so he decided to make meatless lasagna instead.
Dinner was very quiet that night as both Derpy and Dinky were throwing each other sideways looks and smirking.
What were they playing at?
When Calvin finished washing up the dishes, he discovered he was exhausted. He was about to ascend the stairs but was halted by Derpy calling him.
“Calvin, can you come to the sofa? Don’t make me wait!”
“Coming Derpy!” Calvin sighed in having his plans changed. He didn’t mind though.
What he wasn’t expecting was Dinky sitting beside her.
“We would like to talk to you about what Dinky said earlier today.” Derpy patted the cushion beside her.
Calvin had less than a second before he had the two mares on top of him, going into full blown cuddle mode.
“You were saying?” Calvin said after the two had made themselves comfortable.
“Yes well the issue is that Dinky can call you daddy since you’ve taken care of her for almost a year now. Do you see where I’m going with this?” Derpy said.
“Can I call you my daddy? You may not be my real daddy but you play and care for me like you are one! Please?!” Dinky begged, her eyes getting big and staring into the deepest parts of Calvin’s soul.
“Ok sure, I’m fine with that. Just ask before you start telling everypony.” Calvin relented.
“Oh and there’s one more thing.” Derpy added.
“I never got around to telling you this and I honestly feel stupid for not telling you in the year you’ve been here. I have another daughter.” Derpy admitted.
If Calvin had a drink, he would’ve spit it out all over them.
“WHAT?!” He shouted making Dinky and Derpy wince.
“Sorry!” Derpy said, “Is that a deal breaker?”
“Of course not! I’m just surprised. It may be a little late sure but at least you told me. Let me guess, she’s coming home tomorrow or something?” Calvin made a guess based on a common cliche.
“Nope. She’ll be back in a few months” Derpy looked at him oddly
“Oh, ok.” Calvin shrugged.
“He name is Sparkler and she’s coming back from a year and a half of studying abroad.” Derpy said.
“Pegasus?” Calvin asked.
“Nope, another unicorn.” Derpy giggled as she drew Dinky in closer.
“Well this could be interesting I suppose.” Calvin smiled warmly at the mother and daughter on his chest.
“She doesn’t look like us very much. Got her father’s looks. She came of age last year.” Derpy continued to explain.
“News on the weather for the weekend?” Calvin asked.
“Stormy. Like big nasty thunderstorms. Local farms need it right now.” Derpy said with a crestfallen look on her face.
“Mommy? Can I sleep over at Applebloom’s house tonight? I meant to ask you earlier.” Dinky looked like she expected no for an answer.
“I don’t see why not. I’ll take you there now, it’s still light out after all and the storm hasn’t started. I wonder if you could stay the weekend?” Derpy questioned.
“OH YEAH PLEASE?!” Dinky jumped in excitement.
“Ok, Calvin, sit tight. I’ll be right back.” Derpy escorted Dinky to the front door and retrieved Dinky’s special raincoat and boots.
She fluttered back over to Calvin and put her mouth to his ear.
“I think we’re gonna have fun during the storm this weekend.” She purred as Calvin shuddered in anticipation.
She nipped his ear and exited the house with Dinky in tow.
