"He sooooo, was Cloudchaser. You know he was just your type."
"Was not!"
"Was too!"
"Was not! Right Flowering!"
Flowering Dance started back into reality at her friends voice.
"Oh, sorry Cloudchaser I wasn't listening."
Flowering tried to sound apologetic at not listening.
"Sheesh. It's easy for you to doze off Flowering, you already have a boyfriend."
Cloudchaser glared at her momentarily before turning back to Flitter.
"Anyway, where are we are we going?"
Flowering Dance asked. Flowering and two of her best friends, Flitter and Cloudchaser, were one a walk discussing which stallion was each others type. Flowering having a boyfriend already had tuned them out. Their argument had brought her out of her thoughts.
"Well do you know?"
Flowering asked again. They both looked at her and shrugged their shoulders. Flitter spoke to her first.
"I don't know. I though we were just taking a walk."
Cloudchaser nodded her head in agreement.
"Well whatever than."
Flowering shrugged her shoulders and started following the girls again. As both the girls were back in their conversation about the stallion in question, Flowering crept back into her thoughts. Flowering imagined herself at the studio doing her routine for the recital and mentally went though all the steps. Plie, Arabesque, Jete, Pirouette, and so on. Doing this gave Flowering a sense of longing to be back at the beloved studio. Unfortunately, it was closed today due to remodeling. That was the only reason Flowering agreed to the walk, because if not for the remodeling she would be back at the studio this very minute! Sighing heavily, Flowering tried to tune back into the conversation.
"Oh I know wasn't it just silly. It's like dude you could, like, to attempt to try to flirt normally."
Flitter was of course talking about the wayward poet who was smitten with her, and had been following her everywhere composing for her.
"Your so right Flitter. He's just, like, being so stalkerish, you know."
Cloudchaser gave Flitter a sympathetic look. Flowering sighed again as they both gossiped incessantly. She knew this would go on for a while, so she tried to politely extract herself from their walk.
"Um, excuse me girls, but I'm afraid I have an appointment I really must be going to."
Both girls turned to give her a stricken look.
"But we were just getting to the good part!"
Flitter protested.
"I bet you were."
Flowering said under her breath.
"I'm so sorry girls really, but I must be going."
Flowering gave the girls an apologetic smile. Frowning sadly both girls gave Flowering their goodbyes before she turned and trotted away.
Turning a corner, Flowering started galloping. After getting a fair distance away Flowering let out a whoop of victory.
"Life is good!"
She thought as galloped back to her house.
