Origins of Evil

Previous Chapter

Celestia waited until the doors were closed before asking us her question about us, and I don't know how to respond without revealing classified information.

"Well? Our sister asked you a question." Luna impatiently states, drawing a quick glare from Rainbow.

"If you must know, please more specific. Asking us how we are, or what we are is akin to asking somepony why the sky's blue. So, I'll ask you again, please be more specific." I state calmly. All around us the throne room begins to repair itself, as if it's being controlled.

"Oh, there's the daily repair." Celestia says calmly.

"Daily repair? What is that?" I ask confused.

"Well, if I tell you two, will you answer our questions?" Celestia says, our response is a nod. "Excellent, the daily repair is a thing that, for whatever reason, happens at the end of every day and fully repairs any and all damage done to the ponies and buildings of Equestria, only a select few ponies ever notice it. Now, your turn, what are you? Surely you aren't a natural hybrid, just like your friend isn't naturally like that." Celestia asks.

"Well, I am a natural hybrid the phoenix bit was true, but no, I wasn't always this... grotesque." I say giving myself a once over.

"Right, I'm a natural Pegasus, but I wasn't always a mutated freak." Rainbow spits venomously. She looks over to me, as if she expects me to explain what we meant.

"Ugh... Fine, since my partner here picks now to be quiet. I'm Blazing Skies, 'Phoenix', or SCP-682-R. The last two are my preferred names. My abilities consist of rapid regeneration, transformation, heightened adaptability, and increased durability. The only other thing I can think of that you'd need to know about me is that, when I'm calm, I seem to project a calming aura that I can use to calm down others around me. Anything else you want to know?" I ask in an annoyed manner.

"Yes. What are your intentions now that you're here?" Celestia asks.

"Simply put, we had hoped to fuck off into obscurity and live out our lives in peace, even if you make us your prisoners. Damn sight better than begin used as a research sample, or being constantly submerged in hydrosulfuric acid all the time. Or was it hydrochloric?" I say nonchalantly, not paying any mind to the concerned looks from the Princesses.

"Who submerged you in acid?" Celestia asks appalled.

"The SCP Foundation." Rainbow answers blankly.

"What is this SCP foundation? What hast thou done to warrant such a harsh punishment?" Luna asks.

"Well, the goal of the foundation is to Secure Contain and Protect the citizens of Terra from threats such as Rainbow and myself. We're high priority, being Keter Class objects and all." Rainbow explains, I shoot her a look that tells her not to reveal something she'd wind up regretting.

"Could you wait one moment? Normally my student does this, but she's not here at the moment to take notes." Celestia says, as begins materializing a quill and notepad from thin air. Rainbow and I enter a defensive stance and slightly growl.

"Now then, could you please tell what Keter means? Is that what makes you two so special?" She asks, levitating the quill and notepad in front of her, as Luna materializes a chair for herself to sit in.

"Classified to personnel with Class 2 or lower clearance. Luckily for you two, you'd both have Class 5 clearance." I say angrily.

"Class 5 clearance?" Celestia asks.

"Correct, reserved to VIPs, the O5-S command, researchers, and the Cloud Nine containment team. You two are qualified VIPs." I explain, Celestia writes all of this down on her notepad.

"Back to my earlier question, what makes you two 'High priority' as you called it." Celestia asks.

"We're Keter Class objects, or deemed worthy of immediate termination. Keter Class objects are extremely unstable, highly violent, and are capable of causing XK, or ZK scenarios. So, in order to prevent this, all Keter Class objects are to be destroyed upon discovery, or after enough information has been obtained from the subject. Then they are terminated." I say harshly.

"How did you two wind up in our world?" Luna asks.

"Simply, we ran. Through a dimensional mirror, but that's a technicality. That's it then, we ran here, to our freedom." Rainbow answers.

"Did you leave behind anything important, or any pony important?" Celestia asks.

"I left two ponies close to me, Dr. Bright, and Chrysalis." I say, only to be lifted into the air by a golden aura.

"You know of Queen Chrysalis!?" Celestia gasps in shock, "Tell me if she has caused you any harm!" She says rotating and looking all over me.

"She's back in our dimension, nicest pony I've ever met. Shame though, she gave up her freedom just for me, wish I could do the same."

"Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't think your dimension would have another Chrysalis. Please forgive me." She says sheepishly as she puts me back on the ground.

"I grow tired of these silly questions! Thou mentioned increased strength, is this not correct?" Luna says suddenly.

"Yes, why do y-" "We challenge thee to a duel! Tia and myself against you and your cohort." Luna bellows.

"As you wish." I say bowing.

"This is going to be easy." Rainbow says, flying above me.

"To make it fair for all of us, no magic, and no powers." Celestia says, we all nod in agreement.

"On our count. One... Two... THREE!" Luna shouts, just before she lunges forwards.

Meanwhile with Twilight and the Elements

"If the Princess trust them, then they can't be that dangerous." Twilight says in defense.

"Ah don' know Twi, something 'bout those two, it just ain't sittin' right. Ah know somethin bad's gonna happen real soon." No sooner had Applejack said that, was Princess Celestia sent crashing through the walls of the room. When the girls all looked through the hole they could see that Princess Celestia was still flying through the walls of the castle.

Back to the story

"And stay out... Faggot!" I shout as Celestia is sent flying through the castle walls. I was about to celebrate my victory, only to have the same thing happen to me, but done by Luna.

"Thine feeling is mutual!" She shouts as I get sent through the other side of the castle. Shortly after, Rainbow approaches her shakily and throws her to the ground.

"Now... We're even." She says right before she collapses from fatigue. Alright, so Celestia defeated Rainbow, I defeated Celestia, Luna defeated me, and Rainbow defeated Luna. So.. who won? I open my wings, slowing myself down, and start flying back to the castle. I take my time just absorbing the beauty of the vast city below me. From it's elaborate sweeping designs, every little detail is magnificent and articulately executed. If I wasn't supposed to be with the princesses, I'd be out exploring the city. Shaking my head quickly, I continue flying back to the castle, after a few minutes I land back in the throne room next to a healed Rainbow and Luna.

"Glad to see you're back, what kept you?" Rainbow asks jokingly.

"The beauty of this city." I respond. I look around and see that the throne room is beginning to repair itself, and so are the holes Celestia and I made when we were thrown through them.

"Well then, do we wait for your stooges, or do we leave and never show our faces around here ever again." I say flatly.

"I say we wait for Twilight and her friends. I can then tell you all my decision then." Celestia says calmly. I simply nod and sit down by a large column near a decorative throne laced with gold and silver. The design clearly representing the warming light of the sun. Just as I get comfortable a loud pop is heard throughout the throne room, followed by a very furious looking purple unicorn.

"You!" The unicorn growls at Rainbow and I, "You've got some nerve attacking the Princess like that." She states coldly. I stand up and walk over to the unicorn and sit down in front of her.

"We seem to have gotten off on the wrong hoof, so allow me. My name is Phoenix, and my friend over there," I say point a hoof at Rainbow Dash, "is Rainbow Dash. We are both, as you know, from a different dimension. If you'd allow us to, my friend and I would like to live peacefully amongst you and your friends." I say adding a bow in at the right place to add emphasis and pass a message of sincerity. Twilight pauses for a moment to ponder my request, hopefully she accepts.

"We'll let you go free, under one condition." Twilight says firmly. I hope this is a small condition and not something stupid like we can't use our abilities at all.

"What is this one condition?" Rainbow asks quizzically.

"It's up to the Princesses if this is acceptable, but, if you two return with us to Ponyville, and apologize to the town for lying about what you are, and you also have to remain with one of us while you're staying here." Twilight says stoically.

"Is that all? I speak for both of us when I say those are acceptable conditions." I say formally, flattening my tone of voice to sound very grateful.

"Correct, those are our terms and conditions, now then, where are each of you staying? Together or separate, along with which of us you're staying at?" Twilight says using what I assume to be her normal tone of voice.

"Dash?" I ask, "Can I trust you to live on your own without injuring your caretaker?"

"Fine, but I refuse to stay with Pinkie Pie, Applejack, or Twilight." She says defiantly. Good enough, can't really force her.

"Wait one varmint pickin' minute. How'd y'all know our names?" Applejack asks forcefully.

"There are versions of each of you in our universe. You are a leading researcher at the foundation, Pinkie Pie is a Euclid class object that, while in direct line of sight, is a statue." I start explaining.

"What happens if'n somepony happens ta look away from her?" Applejack asks

"The Pinkie from our universe is hostile, you look away from her and she attacks. More often than not, she strangles her targets to death, if they're lucky, if they aren't lucky she snaps their neck killing them instantly. All this because those ponies had to blink." I finish looking around the room. "I can finish explaining here, or back in Ponyville, your choice." I say formally, as I look at Princess Celestia.

"Please finish explaining here, no sense in involving the nice ponies of Ponyville with all of this." Celestia says kindly.

"As you wish, where was I? Ah yes, moving down the line Rarity is up next. You're an Euclid class object like Pinkie Pie is, but you don't intentionally kill others. Your touch causes a zombie like trance when other ponies are exposed to your fur, however, as innocent as that sounds, even though the zombie can be cured, they are considered Keter class objects and are terminated upon sight. Shame, all the alternate you wanted to do was make dresses, now anything living she, or her work, touches is destroyed." I give a slight sigh realizing who's next.

"I didn't want to do this, but Fluttershy, your alternate self died as a filly." I pause as everypony else gasps in shock "Let me finish. You may not live, but Chrysalis does, when she was young, one of your feathers blew across Terra and near her hive, being the curious filly she was, Chrysalis... yes?" I ask looking at Twilight.

"One thing, why are you putting emphasis on this ponies name?" Twilight asks inquisitively.

"Well, if I didn't you'd mistake for this dimensions version of her, Chrysalis." I say making the 'a' short insteads of a long 'a', "I've seen how you ponies react to changelings. Anyways, back on subject, Fluttershy, your feather had enough love and friendship in it that as soon as Chrysalis tried to eat it, it attached itself to her. Now she's still a changeling, but she's form-locked as you. After about an hour or so, she turns back into you. There, that's uplifting, no death, no destruction, only salvation. Chrysalis is the whole reason Dash and I are even here, if she hadn't stayed behind, we'd be sitting on lab benches for the rest of our lives. Rainbow, you get to explain the last three." I tell her as I sit back amongst the gathered mares.

"*Ahem* Twilight, you are an insane doctor who, if she didn't have access to 996, I'd like to violently kill. The alternate you used me as a research sample for five years. Five years, ever since our class went on that field trip to the mall when we were kids. I'm done with this one." Dash spits out angrily.

"H-how old were you?" Fluttershy asks barely audible.

"I was six, and Phoenix was seven. Next, we have Celestia, She's still the princess of our world. Only thing that separates you two is that you know about the foundation, and our's doesn't." Rainbow growls, "Lastly, we have the deceased Professor L. Luna was allegedly killed during a containment breach one year ago, Sparkle betrayed her and fled from 096, or 'the shy guy' as we call it. You'll be fine so long as you don't look at it's face directly. I'll pause now to answer questions." Dash adds flatly.

"Are there safe was to view it's face?" Twilight asks curiously.

"There is one way, artist renderings. Viewing it through photographs, video feeds, and other media devices will cause 096 to go completely berserk and kill what ever viewed its' face. Bunkers can't stop it, it'll run across the entire planet until it has killed the one who viewed it's face. For reference, 096 is considered a Safe/Keter object. It's safe, until you view its' face." Rainbow says adding in a dramatic fade at the end of her speech.

"Yes, very good Dash. Now, before we go to ponyville, I feel the need to inform you that I'll be staying with the scholar." I say walking over to Twilight.

"And I'll be crashing with my dimensional opposite." Dash says flying over to Rainbow. "Besides, I've always wondered what happens when a cloud touches the spectra I constantly secrete. Hopefully it holds up better than these floors do." She says standing. "Well, lead the way other me." She says gesturing towards the door to the throne room. Eventually her counterpart got the hint and started to fly over there and lead Dash out of the throne room.

"Now that they're taken care of... how much is it to replace the flooring? I only ask because the corroded floor is unusable." I say inspecting the damage, thankfully it's minimal.

"How is the floor unusable? It's made of pure marble, and no offence Princess, but how in Celestia's name does a floor suddenly become useless?!" Twilight yells. 'Le gasp! Demonstration time!' Not now me.

"Why don't I show you, with a demonstration." I whisper to Twilight, "You there! Stupid looking guard!" I shout to one of the nearby guards, "I want you to stand in the middle of the decayed marble. Don't question your Princess. I'm but a messenger." I lie to the guard, thank the deities above that I have a good poker face. The guard complies and walks over to the worn down spot in the marble. I decide to stop him before he walks onto the marble and ruins my chance for some fun.

"Alright, now before you step on the worn down marble, I want you to stomp your front hooves as loudly as possible." The guard looks confused by my request, by agrees anyways. He rears up onto his hind legs and brings his hooves down onto the floor with enough force to cause a resounding echo through the room. The echo lasts for a few seconds.

"Very good Sir, now do the same thing to the worn down section, but I only want you to use a quarter of the force you used, also, only use one hoof. I don't care which one." I say waving off the last part. Without hesitation, the guard raises his right hoof into the air and brings it down onto the marble. This time, the marble doesn't resist and instead, gives way as soon as his hoof connects. Everypony gathered gawks in awe at the sight before them. I choose now to ruin the silence.

"Don't look so impressed, just be luck this floor isn't on another level, otherwise he's of just fallen through the floor. Oh, before I leave for Ponyville, are there anymore questions you want publicly answered before Twilight - I might be wrong here, and I'm not - berates me with question after question in her house." I say to the group.

"I have one." Rarity asks.I nod to her to continue, "Well darling, I hope I don't overstep my bounds here, but what happens if you go berserk like you did with that poor Ursa?" She asks. I take a moment to ponder what she said.

"Just try and calm me down. If you use those Elements of Harmony you mentioned earlier, and it doesn't work on me, then you can't use them on me ever again. Seeing as I'll just build up an immunity to them, and Rainbow would just retreat to her personal dimension. Now then, lets head back to town." I say, as I start to flap my wings, little embers fly off of the tips with each flap, and before I take to the air, I suddenly think of something.

"How are we going to explain this to the townsponies?" I ask, finally taking to the air. I start hovering in place, a few feet off the ground, my wings still releasing golden embers with each upwards motion. The silence tells me everything I need to know. Readying myself to leave, I'm suddenly engulfed in a golden aura, and so are the others. The next thing I know, there's a flash, and when I open my eyes, we're all standing inside of a large building full of books. I quickly close my wings, and fall to the ground.

"Phoenix, other Rainbow Dash, I formally welcome you to Ponyville, as well as my house, the Golden Oak Library." Twilight says, waving a hoof around the room as if she's giving a tour. For once in my life, things might start to finally work to our advantage.

Author's Note

Here it is, the long-awaited* update to SCP-[RETRACTED]. I hope you enjoy it, I even rushed so I could finish this chapter before 2017, just so I won't have to mark this as 'On hiatus'. Now then, what do think will happen in the next chapter? I will tell you one thing, Phoenix and Dashie (really need a better way to differentiate the SCP Dash, and the cannon Dash) aren't so easily forgiven.
*No one actually waits for me to update.

Also note that even though it was called Origins of Evil, I never actually explained it from beginning. No, that comes for a later chapter.
