Never Break The Heart of a Princess

Chapter 2: Date night

A few hours later Twilight is getting ready for her date with Flash. She put one her gala dress that Rarity made for a while back. Rarity helped style her hair and put her earrings in and in a few minutes she was ready.

“Good luck with your date darling.” Rarity said.

“Thank you Rarity and thank you everypony for supporting me.” Twilight said to her friends.

As Twilight was just about to leave she heard a knock at the door. Twilight walked towards the door and opened it and there stood her date, Flash Sentry.

“Hey Twilight just came by to pick you up, so you ready.” Flash said.

“You're darn right I'm ready.” Twilight said.

Before the two left Rainbow Dash flew into Flash’s face and she told him.

“You better treat her with respect or so help me.” Dash said angrily.

“Calm down Rainbow Dash, besides why wouldn't he treat me with respect, he does have a massive crush on me." Twilight whispered to her angry friend.

“Oh, right, sorry." Dash said with a slight smile.

“Sorry Flash, I guess I got a little carried away." Dash said apologetically.

“Its alright, Twilight’s brother got on me the same way you just did when I told him I was going to ask Twilight on a date." Flash said.

“Well are we ready?" Twilight asked Flash.

“You betcha, let's go." Flash said with a smile as he held his hoof out.

Twilight smiled and she took Flash's hoof and the two walked into the night.

The two lovers were walking to Hayburger when Twilight and Flash ran into Princess Luna and her colt friend Dusk. Dusk was a cobalt blue Pegasus with a black and midnight blue mane and his cutie mark was two crossed swords with shadow blades and a dark blue shield.

“Why hello Twilight where are you headed on this fine night?” Luna asked.

“Me and Flash are headed to the Hayburger for a date.” Twilight said.

“My my it looks like our little princess has a colt friend.” Luna said jokingly.

“Were not dating yet, so where are you and Dusk headed to?” Twilight asked.

“Me and Luna are headed to LePonies for our 3rd date.” Dusk said.

“Yes, its the place where he and I met.” Luna said.

“And you were just as beautiful then as you are now.” Dusk said smiling.

“Oh you.” Luna said nuzzling Dusk.

Luna and Dusk then shared in a short kiss.

“Well we’re gonna let you two get on with your night, it was good to see you two again.” Twilight said.

“Alright then, see you later Twilight.” Luna said as she waved goodbye.

Twilight and Flash then soon arrived at the Hayburger and as soon as the two walked in everyone in the restaurant looked at the couple and they all developed a look of shock.

A green unicorn colt with red hair pointed at Twilight and said.

“Look everypony its Princess Twilight.”

Everyone in the restaurant jumped up and ran towards Twilight surrounding her and knocking Flash out of the way in the process.

As everypony stared at her, Twilight said.

“Hello everypony, and yes you are correct I am Princess Twilight and I am here on a date with Flash Sentry.” Twilight said.

“Who’s Flash Sentry?” One of the ponies asked.

“That would be me.” Flash said as he got up.

“Yes and he and I would like to have a relaxing date in piece.” Twilight said.

The audience then let out a disappointed “aww”. Twilight and Flash then took their seats and as soon as they were seated they were greeted by one of Twilight's friends, Pinkie Pie.

“Hey Twilight, I was wondering when you would get here.” Pinkie Pie said.

“Hi, Pinkie when did you start working at the Hayburger?” Twilight asked.

“I started working here just recently, just after we defeated Tirek.” Pinkie said smiling.

“Well its good to know that I will be served by a good friend.” Twilight said with a smile.

“So, what will you two lovebirds order today.” Pinkie said smiling.

“Well I will have the Hayburger.” Twilight said.

“And I will have the Haydog with a side order of Hayfries.” Flash said.

“Okay, and for drinks?” Pinkie asked.

“I will have an orange juice.” Twilight said.

“And I will order an ice water.” Flash said.

“Cool, alright be right back with your drinks and your food.” Pinkie Pie said with a wide smile.

Pinkie Pie then hopped away leaving Flash and Twilight to talk.

“So how’s it like being a princess?” Flash asked.

“Its very busy, there is a lot of work and it takes a lot of responsibility.” Twilight replied back.

“I can imagine.” Flash said.

“So, what's it like being a royal guard?” Twilight asked.

“Well it has as many if more attributes of being a princess, you constantly have to keep a watchful eye on the princesses and now the prince, and it also comes with a lot of danger. Constantly putting yourself in front of the threat when you know that in some way you are going to get hurt and it also shows you how easy everypony else’s life is and how difficult yours is.” Flash said.

“Wow, and I thought being a princess was hard.” Twilight said.

“Yeah you're the lucky one here, sometimes I feel like I'm screwing my life up with this job. It seems like I could be doing something more enjoyable but my parents wanted me to become a royal guard and when they died I felt like I had to make them proud so a few months later I decided to ask Princess Celestia and Princess Luna about becoming a member of the royal guard.” Flash said.

“But if you hadn't become one you and I never would've met, so I guess you are only thinking about the bad traits of being a royal guard but remember to think positively.” Twilight said smiling.

“Ya know what Twilight, you're absolutely right, I should be happy that I am a member of the royal guard and I should be proud of myslef for doing so.” Flash said with enthusiasm.

The two chatted for another 3 minutes when Pinkie Pie came and brought the two their drinks and soon after that their food.

Thirty minutes later the two finished their food and left the restaurant. Flash then dropped off Twilight back at her castle.

“Tonight was wonderful Flash, thank you.” Twilight said with a smile.

Twilight then gave Flash a kiss on his cheek and she then walked into her castle. Flash stood at the castle door still starstruck.

“Way to show her a good time Flash, this has been one hell of a night, well its time to get home.” Flash said to himself.
