Rainbow smiled. Pinkie was back. She was finally back. Rainbow launched herself at Pinkie; tackling her to the ground. Pinkie squealed as she was thrown back. Pinkie and Rainbow stood up.
Rainbow blushed. "Sorry Pinkie. I'm just so glad your back."
Pinkie giggled. "I'm glad I'm back too! I missed you so much! Heck, I missed everything so much! I missed you, the parties, all of the rest of my friends, and much more. But I missed you especially."
Rainbow smiled. "So what was it like?"
Pinkie cocked her head. "What was what like?"
Rainbow looked down. "Ummm......you know......what was it like being........dead."
Pinkie frowned. "It was awful, yet it was nice too. It was all cold and dark for a while no colors, no nothing. I hated it. remember it seemed as if I was floating around in a dark sea of nothingness. I called out for you you guys but nothing happened. It seemed forever before I saw it." Pinkie stopped.
Rainbow looked back up at Pinkie. "Saw what?"
Pinkie was staring at the ground like she was lost in another world. As if she was day-dreaming. "The light." she whispered.
Rainbow hardly heard her. She frowned. "Pinkie are you all right?"
Pinkie shook her head and snapped back into reality. "Hmm? Oh yeah, I'm fine."
The cyan pegasus shuffled her hooves for a moment. "What light were you talking about?"
Pinkie looked at Rainbow and Rainbow looked at Pinkie. Thier gaze met and they were staring at eachother for awhile before Pinkie responded.
"I don't know. It was just a light. A bright light. Like a portal, I guess. I remember I rushed to it. I tried to get there, but it seemed the closer I got to it, the farther away I was. Then the light disappeared. I remember screaming, 'No! No! Come back, light! Please! Come back!' And then I woke up in a coffin. I was coughing and choking. I was sucking in air, trying to get as much of it in my lungs as I possibly could. I threw up, too. But then I crawled out of the coffin and I felt fine. Kind of like I never died in the first place." Pinkie was doing it again. She was staring at the floor, like she was day-dreaming.
Pinkie shook her head and smiled. Rainbow smiled too.
"Ya know, now that you're back and everything, we can hang out and do stuff together. Maybe have a party or something. I know you like parties." Rainbow smiled bigger at the thought of having a party with Pinkie there. It would be great.
Pinkie nodded and yawned. "Yeah, thatt would be great. But maybe another time. I am very tired. I'm just going to go to sleep, ok?"
Rainbow nodded. "Of course! Um....is ok if I crash here tonight? I'm too tired to fly."
The pink mare smiled. She liked the sound of that. "Yeah. Of course you can stay here! You can sleep in my room with me."
Rainbow and Pinkie both trotted back to Pinkie's room and Pinkie hopped onto her bed. Pinkie began jumping up and down on her bed.
"Come join me!" she squealed.
Rainbow couldn't resist. Rainbow hopped onto the bed and began jumping too. They jumped for about 15 minutes before Rainbow's legs gave out. Rainbow fell onto the bed panting. Pinkie smiled and layed down next to Rainbow.
Rainbow yawned. "Goodnight Pinkie."
"Goodnight." Pinkie chirped back.
Pinkie wrapped her arms around the pegasus and they both fell fats asleep.

The next morning Rainbow woke up to the smell of pancakes. Rainbow opened her eyes and sat up. She rubbed her eyes then yawned. Rainbow got out of bed and trotted into the kitchen. She saw Pinkie standing there, cooking pancakes. Rainbow's eyes widened. She hadn't seen Pinkie bake in so long.
Pinkie giggled. "Hiya there Dashie! I'm cooking us some yummy terrific pancakes to celebrate my returnal! I hope you like them!"
Rainbow smiled and licked her lips. She went over to a table and sat down. About 5 minutes later, Pinkie came trotting over with a big plate stacked with pancakes and two smaller plates. Pinkie set the plate down and then sat across from Rainbow. Pinkie gave one plate to Rainbow and kept one for herself. Rainbow grabbed two pancakes and put them on her plate. Rainbow took one bite and moaned. Pinkie giggled.
"I'm sorry." Rainbow said while blushing. "I just haven't had your pancakes for soooo long. I almost forgot how good they were!."
Pinkie smiled and grabbed a pancake and put it on her plate. She took a bite and spit it out. She started gagging and coughing. Rainbow looked alarmed.
"Pinkie?! Are you ok?!"
Pinkie made a disgusted face and nodded. "Yeah, I'm just not used to eating. I guess I kind of forgot how. And plus, that pancake doesn't taste very well. I must have messed up on that one."
Rainbow took a bite from it, chewed slowly, and swallowed. "Tastes fine to me."
Pinkie shrugged. "I guess I just don't like them anymore."
Rainbow gobbled down 5 pancakes and 3 cups of orange juice. Rainbow got off the seat along with Pinkie.
"So, if it's ok with you," Rainbow said with a hint of excitment in her voice. "I was thinking maybe I could gather up our friends and we could have a 'Welcome Back!' party."
Pinkie didn't seem very excited about it. "Ok."
Rainbow didn't notice. "Yes! I will bring our friends over right now so we can set it up!"
"Ok." Pinkie chirped.
Rainbow ran out the door and blasted into the sky in search of her friends.
Pinkie felt dizzy and sat down. Her tummy growled.
"I'm so hungry." she looked around. "There has to be something in this house I can eat!"
Rainbow knocked on each of the mare's doors and told them about the party. Everypony -except Twilight- was shocked at first, but then agreed to help. When everypony was rounded up, they all headed back to Sugar Cube Corner. Rainbow opened the door and let everypony in. Rainbow turned and gasped. The place was a mess! Food was scattered everywhere!
Rainbow looked at Pinkie who was lying on the ground. "What happened?!"
Pinkie got up and frowned. "I was trying to look for something to eat but.....but....I couldn't find anything I liked. It all tasted so gross!"
Rainbow sighed. She tured to her friends. "Help me clean this place up so we can start planning the party."
Everyone nodded and they all got to work.
***
Everybody gathered around in a circle. Except Pinkie. She was lying on a table quietly singing something. Rainbow looked at Rarity.
"Rarity, what do you want to do for the party?"
Rarity smiled. "Decorations."
Rainbow looked around the circle. "Does anybody dissaprove of that?"
Nobody said anything. Rainbow nodded to Rarity. Rarity smiled with satisfaction. The cyan pegasus looked at Applejack.
"How about you? Do you have any ideas for the party?"
Applejack nodded. "Yup. Ah got two actually. One, food. Two, ah was thinkin we could have the party at the Sweet Apple Acres' barn."
Rainbow smiled. "Ok!" She turned to Twilight. "How about you?"
Twilight thought for a moment. "I can help you three do whatever you guys are doing."
"Well, I'm passing out invitaions. You can use your unicorn magic to quickly make them. Here's the list." Rainbow gave Twilight the list.
Twilight's eyes widened and her jaw dropped. "This is just about every pony in Ponyville!"
Rainbow laughed. "Well, we needed to invite as many ponies as possible!"
Twilight sighed. "I'll do it.....for Pinkie."
"Great!" Rainbow smiled ear to ear. "Let's get to work!"
