Chapters “Oh Spikey Wikey, this picnic is absolutely wonderful,” Rarity said overlooking the hill they were sitting on.
“I glad you like it,” Spike replied looking in Rarity’s eyes as they sparkle in the sun light. Her mane slightly move as the wind gently blow across the hill. Spike fumble with his claws, “Rarity…I want to tell you something.”
“What is it my Spikey Wikey,” she said in a charming tone.
Blushing, Spike skittishly said,” well…I always wanted to tell you that I…I…”
“Yes,” Rarity said as she blinked with fondly look.
“I…I lov…”
*FLASH*…..BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
*******************************
Spike woke up scream as the thunder roar in his ear. He looked outside and saw that the night sky was clear. He then looked at the door connecting to main room and saw purple flash through the crack under the doorway. “Ugh,” he sighed out, “not this again.” He climb out of bed and took a quick looked at the clock. The clock said the time was 12:13 A.M. “Why does she do theses late night experiments?” He mumbled out in a tired voice.
He sluggishly went down the set of stairs, and opened the door. Twilight was standing in the middle of the room, her horn brightly glowing purple as she began the spell again. The room got tainted purple as a crackling energy circle formed in front of her. However, it soon collapsed on itself creating the loud bang that woke him up before. She let out a frustrating sigh and levitated a quill and scroll in front of her, writing something down. “Hey Twilight,” Spike spoke out. Twilight stop what she was doing and looked at him. “You think you could do that some other time?”
“Sorry Spike, I thought I had the noise cancelling ward cast over this room,” she said. “I guess I over cast it.”
“You think,” he annoying said. “I thought you gave up this spell a month ago.”
“I know, but I made a brake through last week.”
“When last week?”
“At my brother wedding when Queen Chrysalis transported me to the caves under Canterlot.”
“And this is significant how?”
“Because of the way she transported me. Our transportation spells work by transforming the user into a form of energy and takes them to where they want to be and reforming them at the spot. However, she made a sphere that dragged me through the floor to the caverns below, and that is what I need. I could make the gateway for my dimension spell even could find the other world, but couldn’t make a stable connection with it. I was using our way of transportation to find a way to make it stable but it won’t work and would only work unless there were two gateways. However after the wedding I had an idea of using the Changeling’s way of transportation; I will drag a dimensional space from the other world and connect it with the gateway. It worked out on paper, and I’m trying to find the right combination of making the Changeling’s spell work with my spell.” She started to work on the scroll again, “You can go back to sleep Spike, I'll recast the noise canceling ward again and make sure it only around this room.”
“Yeah…alright, see you in the morning Twi.” Spike went back up the stairs and went back to bed, hoping to have the same lovely dream about Rarity again. However he had a dream about a land full of cake and ice cream which made his belly ache of a not so great idea he once did.
**************************
Twilight recast the ward, making sure it went only around the main room instead of the house and went back to her work. It has been months since she began work on this spell, making small progress along the way. A spell for dimensional travel has been theories since Starswirl the Bearded was alive, but he never had time to fully work on it. Many others unicorns have tried to make a spell, with only one who came close but his gateway failed and nearly blown his head right off. After that he wrote The Theory of Dimensional Travel and wrote how each universe (or dimension) vibrates at a different frequency to exist. Theoretically it is possible to make some sort of gateway that will vibrate at a pre-set frequency and open a portal to the world tune to the frequency. The only problem was to find that world’s frequency otherwise the gateway might have…negative results. Lucky for Twilight she does have a world’s frequency; a world called Lore.
(Begin Summery of PonyFable)
A few months ago a human whose name was Jackson Truman, normally called Jack, came to Equestria by accident by some sort of transporter misshape. While looking for a way back home he came across Fluttershy who led him to Twilight. Twilight told Jack that she couldn’t help get back to his world, she did write a letter to Princess Celestia to see if she had any answers. In the meanwhile she asked questions about Jack and his world and he replied the best he can. They soon got a replied letter from Celestia telling them that she would like to see Jack, Twilight and her friends at Canterlot; she also inform Jack that his dragon, Wistala, follow him. The next morning after a surprised breakfast party from Pinkie Pie, Twilight found out an ancient stone tablet she was studying was stolen right from her house. With nothing they could do to find who stole it they made their way to Canterlot.
After a reunion with Wistala, Jack went to talk to Celestia and shortly after that they were attack by these flying stone orbs led by a blue unicorn name Obsidian. He stole a shield that had the same properties as the stone tablet. Jack, for being the hero that he is, wanted to help out in stopping Obsidian, since he had a gut feeling that what Obsidian was doing won’t end well. He made plans to go the dragons main homeland to get another know object, a helm, that was like the tablet. Being inspired by Rainbow Dash’s speech to help Jack, even though both Jack and Celestia said no, Twilight, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash was able to fooled Jack in taking them with him (Jack was not pleased). However, they were able to get the helm from the dragons, only to lose it from a trap set up by Obsidian. Obsidian held all of the ponies as hostage and was able to beat Jack pressuring him to give up the helm. Jack gave Obsidian the helm and Obsidian took the girls away from Jack, keeping Fluttershy as insurance to not to be disturbed of his plans. He left Jack with some dragons who didn’t like him (due for hurting their pride), but Jack was able to escape and reunite with the girls.
Broken by the defeat Jack was about to give up, until a portal from Lore opened up. Jack went back to Lore to get new equipment and was about to come back, when another human ran into him sending them both to Equestria. This other human, Cysero, was a mage who seemed to already been to Equestria before and met Pinkie Pie becoming best friends. With his new equipment Jack was ready to stop Obsidian and rescue Fluttershy. He was able to rescue Fluttershy but not stop Obsidian from succeeding his plans of bring back a creature name Advin, who quickly backstab Obsidian. (And to make this summery not to run any longer) With help from Obsidian before he died, Jack was given a way to harm Advin and combined with the power of the Elements of Harmony, Advin was quickly defeated.
(End of Summary)
Twilight sigh as she prepared to do the spell again. She focused her magic in the complex spell and started the progress. The gateway from and Twilight began the process of dragging a part of Lore’s space to connected it to the gateway. Her magic strain and for a moment she almost lost control of it, until she felt something snap in place and there was a loud bang. Twilight stumble backward bumping into one of the many bookshelves, as a purple energy wave emitted. She looked at the gateway and saw a simmering portal that overlook a dark foggy forest. “I did it,” she mumble out, “I made a stable portal for dimensional travel.” She smiled widely and started to hop up and down in excitement. She stopped in front of the portal and walk towards it…but stopped. “Should I,” she asked herself. However the portal closed and the gateway vanished. “Guess next time,” she began to write some notes on her scroll of the right combination, and was overtaken by sleepiness.
****************************
A blue creature poked his head out of a bush a looked towards the direction he heard the female voice. He thought he saw a purple unicorn through a brightly simmering purple circle. It closed shortly after, leaving him a bit confused, but he shrugged his shoulders, “Meh…I seen weirder stuff.” He went back through the bush, looking for more bones to rebuild his ebil undead "army" he lost due the recent Friday the 13th war.

Chapter 1: The Doorway to Another World
“Twilight….waaaaaaaaake uuuuup,” Spike voice spoke out. Twilight moan and open her sleepy eyes and saw Spike standing in front of her. “You stay up all night again.” Twilight blink a few times and got up from the floor she fell asleep on.
“Sorry Spike, but I think I got the spell to work,” she said as she went to her kitchen to make…she took a quick glance at the clock, 10:54, brunch.
Surprised, Spike asked, “Really, you made your own spell work!? When, what did you see, why are not jumping up and down saying “Yes” nonstop?” Twilight giggled at this as she levitated some bread, daises, oatmeal and orange juice.
“Well about an hour after you went back to sleep I was able to found the right combination for the portal and it open to a forest that I have never seen before. It didn’t stay open for long, so I didn’t get a good look on the other side. I guess I must have been really tired of using my magic so much that soon fallen asleep right after it closed.” She took a bit of her daisy sandwich.
“Should I write a letter to Princess Celestia about your success,” Spike asked in the other room. Twilight swallow what she had and took a sip of her orange juice.
“Not yet, I still want to make sure that it isn’t a onetime spell. I’m still tried from magical exhaustion and do some minor tweaks to the spell.” She looked at Spike noticing that he was half listening and half cleaning up the library. “Spike,” Spike his cleaning and looked up, “I can take care of the cleaning, can you go and tell Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie, Fluttershy and Rarity that I would like to see them.”
Spike thought for a moment then said, “Sure…if want me to.” He put what he held down on a tablet and went towards the door. He was about to open it, when it was open instead by a tan earth pony with a crimson mane and tail, almost run into Spike.
“Oh…sorry there Spike,” she said. “Should’ve watch were I’m going.”
“It’s no problem Talc,” Spike held the door for her and went to do his task.
Talc walked in and looked around the missy library, “You’ve been busy I see.”
“Yeah, a late night project of mine. Is there something you need?”
“Just returning the book I borrow.” Talc reach to her saddlebag and took out Ghost and Goblins and Ghoulish Figures and laid it on a nearby table. “Sorry for bring it late, last week the library was closed and I didn’t know when it would be open again. I brought the bits to pay for the late fee.”
Twilight shake a hoof in the air, “You don’t have to pay. I was call off to go to my brother wedding and didn’t have time to leave a message about it.” Twilight wrapped the book in magic and put it back on the shelf of the section it belongs. “Is there anything else you need?”
Talc shook her head, “No,” then she stopped shaking her head and looked over to area as if she saw something, “…actually I do have a question. Do you believe in ghost?”
Dumbfound by such a question Twilight fumble with her answer, “Maybe…I mean no. They’re only made up tales to scare fillies and colts for Nightmare Night.” Curious, Twilight asked, “Why asked such a question?”
“Nothing,” Talc said, she looked off in the distance. “It just for the last few months I felt as if someone is watching me. I get this odd feeling of a familiar presence but when I look, nopony is there." She closed her eyes and smiled in amusement, "I think I’m losing my mind, somewhere deep inside a part of me is still refusing the death of my brother and it’s making false images and feeling trying to fill it up.” Twilight could see a small shiver of a tear from at the edge of one of Talc’s eyes. Talc shook her head shaking out a thought and opened her eyes looking at Twilight with a brighten mood than before, “So Twilight what have you been up to lately?”
Twilight could see that Talc was trying to change the subject which was understandable. After learning what her brother did to free her form her being frozen in stone, Talc didn’t believed it at first. The Obsidian she knew didn’t match the Obsidian that was descried to her after she was free from her stone prison. Talc has been living in Ponyville for the last few months doing odd jobs around town, barley interacting with anyone save for Twilight and her friends. For the most part, the citizens of Ponyville (and even in all of Equestria) didn’t blame her for what Obsidian did, but Talc believed that it was entirely her fault because she was trap in that stone prison. So everypony gave her space to breath and for the most part she was improving over the last three months. “Well,” Twilight said about to answer Talc’s question, “I was finally able to…”
The door burst open and an excited Rainbow Dash zoomed in, and with glee in her voice she ask, “You did it, you actually made the portal spell to work!?”
************************
“So Twilight was able to get her spell to work,” Applejack asked as she walked out of Sweet Apple Acres with Spike at her side, “and she want to show it to us?”
“I guess, she just ask me to tell you to see her at the library,” Spike answered. He broke off from Applejack, “I’m heading to Fluttershy’s house to tell her the same; see you at the library.” Spike wave a claw goodbye and went his merry way.
“See ya’ll there sugarcube.” Applejack continued on the path towards Ponyville. It was nice to see that Twilight was finally finished her spell after the multiple delays she had to deal with for the last three months. Of course this might be a record of creating a spell in fastest time, but Applejack would know little about that since she was an earth pony after all. Applejack was halfway to Twilight’s library when a voice spoke out.
“Yoo-hoo, Applejack,” Rarity said. Applejack turned her head around to see Rarity trotting her way up the road.
“Howdy Rarity,” Applejack replied, “I see that Spike already told you about Twilight’s recent achievement.”
Rarity nodded her head, “Yes, he came in while I was working a custom design for a customer. I had to finish some small details before making my way here. What were you doing?”
“Spike met me while I was finishing checking the apples, making sure there no bad tree or any vermin stealing any good apples.”
“Well, Spike told me right as I was baking a batch of cupcakes,” a new voice said joining in with the conversation. Applejack and Rarity looked to their right to see Pinkie Pie suddenly appearing next to them, wearing a saddle and trotting next to them as if she was there since the conversation began. “I could’ve have been at library sooner, but I had to finish baking the cupcakes and then I had to pack my things.”
“Why did you need to pack your things,” Rarity asked.
“For the trip silly,” Pinkie said in her joyful voice.
“What trip,” Applejack question.
“To Lore of course,” Pinkie picked up her pace as they reach closer to the library and went up to the door. The door burst open and Rainbow Dash zoomed out causing Pinkie to spin around in a circle really fast.
Rainbow Dash stopped in midair, “Sorry about Pinkie, but I need to get some things. Be back in a few seconds.” In a flash she zoomed leaving behind a rainbow trail.
Pinkie stopped spinning, shook her head for a bit then looked at Applejack and Rarity. “See,” she gleefully said and hop through the open door. Applejack and Rarity looked at each other for a few seconds then made their way into the library.
******************************
Twilight watched Rainbow Dash fly out as soon as Twilight finished her telling what Dash wanted to know. “Well that was strange,” Twilight heard Talc said. Pinkie happily hopped through the open door shortly followed by Applejack and Rarity.
“Hi-ya Twilight, I’m here,” Pinkie cheerfully said. Pinkie saw Talc and her face got excited, “OH Talc are you coming with us to Lore too?”
“Pinkie,” Twilight asked, “how did you know I was going to ask that?”
“Why else would you call us over,” she replied.
“So is it true Twi, you got your spell to work,” Applejack asked.
“Yes Applejack I got it to work. As I have told Rainbow Dash, I was working at it late last night and open a portal in the middle of a forest that I have never seen. The reason I asked Spike to bring you all here is to ask if we want to go to this other world.”
“And this other world is hopefully the world Jack came from,” Rarity asked.
“It should be, otherwise I think my spell won’t have work. In the hind sight though I don’t know where on Lore the portal open into and how far Jack is from the position of the portal. Only the location of the town where he said he was living. So,” Twilight looked directly at Rarity and Applejack, “want to come along?”
“Oh I wish I could Twilight,” Rarity said, “but I have a huge order to fill follow by several others. I will have to pass.”
“And I’ll have to pass too sugarcube,” Applejack said. “There is lots of work on the farm that’s need to be done and Big Mac can’t handle it all by himself.”
“I understand,” Twilight said. “I guess it only going to Pinkie, Dash and me for the journey.”
“Count me as well,” Talc added. Everyone looked at Talc surprised of what she said. “There’s not much for me to do here, plus I have question that Jack need to answer.”
“Um are you sure,” Twilight asked. Talc looked at Twilight with a severe stare in answer to her question. “Okay then,” Twilight said in an uncomfortable tone. The library’s door opened and Spike walked in with Fluttershy at his side. “Ah, Fluttershy have Spike told you about why I wanted to see you?”
“Yes he has,” she softly answered.
“So…do you want to go with Lore with us?”
“Ummm, I hope I don’t disappoint you but I need to stay here…to take care of my animals…if you don’t mind that is.”
“It’s okay Fluttershy, I understand.” Twilight looked at Pinkie, “I guess you’re already to leave?” Pinkie nodded her head. “How about you Talc? Do you need to get some things before we head out?”
Talc shook her head, “I’ll be fine.” The door was open again as Dash enter the library with a saddle on her back.
“I think I have what I need for the trip Twi,” she stated out. Dash notice Fluttershy and Spike were in there also. “Hey there Fluttershy, are you coming with us?” Fluttershy shook her head. “O well, your lost.” She turned to Twilight, “I’m ready whenever you are.”
“Okay, I just need to pack some things.” Twilight levitated her saddle and packed it with ink, Quill pins, and lots (LOTS) of paper scrolls. She also went into her kitchen and put in some food as well. She came back, fasting her saddle on, and saw that her two friends and Talc were ready to go. “Spike, write a letter to Princess Celestia telling her about what we are going to do and also tell her we should be back in a few days.” Twilight focus her magic on the spell and began to cast it. Her horn brightly glowed and a large purple circle formed with a mystical hum. Twilight then focus on the second part of the spell of dragging a space of Lore to here. It was a lot easier than last night and soon the portal gave a bright flash of light. The portal glimmered like the surface of water, showing the woods on the other side.
“Cool,” Dash said and she hovered to the edge of the portal and put a hoof through it. It went through and the portal emitted an energy wave which passed through everypony. Fluttershy let out a small epee as wave passed through them making a tingling sensation.
“That tickles,” Pinkie giggling said. They all looked at each other and Twilight took the first (trenchantly second) step through the portal. It didn’t emit another wave and Twilight fully went through, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Talc shortly followed. The portal closed once they were all through and the room became quiet.
“You think they be okay,” Fluttershy asked out loud.
“I’m sure they’ll be fine,” Spike answered. “Jack is going to be there, what the worst that could happen?”
***********************
The portal left them in a clearing in the middle of the woods and as the portal closed the sound of the woods quickly filled their ears. Even though it was still day time the forest was dark as if it was night. “So this is Lore,” Rainbow Dash said, “doesn’t look that much different than Equestria, much less of the Everfree forest. You’re sure that you didn’t open a portal to Everfree forest instead of Lore Twilight.”
“I’m positive Rainbow Dash, like I’ve said the portal open to a random place on Lore. We just have to find a path that will lead us to Falconreach.”
“So what are we waiting for,” Pinkie Pie said raising a hoof in the air, “let get sta…”
“There something moving through the bushes,” Talc shouted out point toward an area covered with tall bushes. Pinkie froze and everyone looked at the area Talc was point at. There were small rustling noised being emitted, but it soon grew louder and a creaking noise was also heard. Three pale white figures merged out each carrying some sort of weapon and soft blue glow in their eyes. Twilight was notice that they had no flesh on them and they were vaguely similar to what a pony skeleton looked like.
“They’re…they’re skeletons,” Twilight said in a frighten tone. One of the skeletons raised its weapon and charged forward at the ponies letting out an unholy scream. However it didn’t get fare as its chest disappeared as Rainbow Dash ram into it with high speed pulling it up into the sky. The skeleton fled to pieces and Pinkie let out a terrify scream. Another skeleton was about to attack but was encase in a violet glow, lifted up and smash into the nearest tree. Twilight looked at the last skeleton about to do the same to it, but the skeleton raised its free hand and launched a fireball at her. Twilight quickly teleported away from the fireball and it hit a group of shrubs. Twilight pop back in a place not far from the group and the skeleton quickly turn towards Twilight. It was about to unleash another fireball until it legs were kick off by Talc who took the advantaged of the distracted foe.
Talc looked at the skeleton and the blue glow in its eyes faded. “Well, that some welcoming party,” she said.
“That was no welcoming party,” Pinkie said, “they didn’t even have any balloons.”
“Is everypony alright,” Dash asked as she came back down.
“We’re fine Dash,” Twilight answer as she walked up to the skeleton Talc took down. How could a skeleton be able to move with no muscles; is it the same why Obsidian made the stones move? There was another rustle from the bushes and the four ponies got ready for more skeletons, however; some angrily voice spoke out instead.
“When I find you three stupid minions, I’ll make you into my cleaning servants for a whole entire month!” A small blue creature with a tattered cape merged forth, and it was carrying a small staff with a small skull on top of it. His eyes were red and there was a small scare across its right eye. He was stunned when he saw the four ponies instead of three skeletons, but that looked quickly turned into rage. “YOU, what are you, Artix’s new undead slaying pets?” He closed his eyes shaking his head and with amuse in his voice he said, “No you can’t be…he despised the color pink.”
“HEY,” Pinkie annoying said.
The creature was taken back when Pinkie spoke. “So you’re the one who scream a few seconds ago?” He laughed for a bit, “I must thank you for that, it’s been awhile since I heard a scream like for many years; it made my day.”
“Hey,” Dash aggressively said. “That’s not funny.”
“Then you clearly don’t know who you’re taking to. I’m Zorbak the most ebil and powerful Moglin necromancer and being in all of Lore.”
“Don’t you mean evil and what is a necromancer,” Twilight asked.
“No I mean ebil, and you don’t know what a necromancer is? What part of Lore did you live on?”
“Equestria,” Twilight answered, “we’re actually from a different...” she was cut off by Zorbak.
“Meh never heard of it and don’t care. A necromancer is a person (or Moglin) who can make the dead into undead minions under his (or her) command. I was trying to rebuild my army of undead that I lost due to recent war.”
“Why do you need an army of undead,” Talc asked.
“To take over Lore of course,” he smugly answered. The ponies were shock of his answer and Rainbow said.
“Not if we stopped you first,” she said in a cocky tone.
Zorbak laugh out loud, “As if. I might be small but don’t test my power; otherwise, I might just kill you and make you into my undead minions.” Then in a boastful tone, “Not even Artix or Jack dare stand against me.”
“Jack? You know Jack? We’re trying to find him. Do you know where he lived,” Pinkie said hopping in front of Zorbak. Zorbak took a couple of steps backwards as Pinkie zoomed in his face. He was about to strike her right there, but a more sinister idea came from in his mind.
He smiled slightly, “So you’re looking for Falconreach, hmmm? Sure I can point you in the right direction.” He turned around and pointed down the path, “It’s just down this path, only few minutes’ walk from here.”
“And why should we trusted you,” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Because I owe you all a favor for taking care of these three stupid undead minions, who couldn’t even follow my simple commands. Think of it as a nice gesture on my part.”
Everypony looked at each other having the same thought. Yeah he said he is evil… or ebil…but it was their only lead. Twilight spoke, “I guess we have no other choice…thank you…I guess.” The ponies made their way down the path and Zorbak watched them leave silently. Once they were out of sight Zorbak spoke out loud.
“Have fun with the Bloodwolves girls, and welcome to Doomwood.” He let out a maniacal laugh and went to find more bones, and maybe, sometime later today, some ponies bones.

Chapter 2: Welcome to Lore (Heroes Around Every Corner)
“We’ve been walking for twenty minutes Twi, we shouldn’t have trust what Zorbak told us,” Dash said.
“It’s been only ten minutes Dash, but I will have to agree with you, the forest hasn’t clear up yet. It only has gotten thicker.” The group stopped and looked at each other, “Should we head back?”
“AROOOOOOOOO.” The group froze in terror as they heard the wolf’s called be answered by several more wolves.
“Apparently we have company,” Talc said. Then in a commanding tone she said, “Get in a circle, back to back and don’t break off.” The girls formed a small circle looking outward; soon they spotted a wolf in the distance as it circle around them. Others soon merged forth from the shadow and they all encircle the four ponies. The wolves snarl at them weaving in and out of the shadows of the forest concealing their numbers, trying to make the ponies flee in terror. “Don’t move; if we break off they can take us down quicker. If one tries to attack, buck it in the face with all of your strength; hopefully it will back down.”
“And if they don’t,” Twilight asked.
“Then you better be handy with plenty of defense or attack spells to fend them off.” In a blink of an eye a wolf came running at Talc in an instance; Talc quickly turn around and with all of her strength bucked the wolf right on the nose. The wolf let out a howler of pain as it fell backwards, laying on the ground wimping in pain. The others wolves didn’t like that and three more left the circle and ran toward the ponies to attack. Twilight rapidly unleashed a magical beam at one of them, Dash did her own buck and Pinkie (somehow) fired her party cannon. The three wolves were blown back a couple of feet, shaking out of the daze they were put in.
“Is that all you got,” Dash mockingly shouted out. The ground sudden bust underneath them and wooden hands came out and grab the ponies in a tight grip. Two trees with evil smiles on their faces came into view, one from the left and one from the right, each one had two of their branches in the ground. The ponies were then pulled hard to the ground, and they couldn’t get back up. The wolves seemed happy of the new outcome and one walk up and showed its teeth right in front of Twilight. Twilight tried to cast another spell, but the pain being emitted by the tight squeezed of the hand made it difficult. The wolf was inches away from Twilight, it open its month ready to rip the neck out of its meal.
A ball of light slammed into the side of the Bloodwolf making the wolf tumble to the ground. Then a spear of light went flying through the air and cut the tree on the right in half. The spear of light still flew in the air and bank around and hit the other tree also cutting it in half. The grips around the ponies soften, not causing pain, but still held them in a dead grip. The spear then flew into clearing and a hand grabbed the spear at its midsection. The wolves and ponies looked and saw a human with long navy blue hair wearing steel armor with some gold trimming stepping into the clearing. “Step away from the horses and I might let you live,” a female voice spoke out, she twirl the spear around to its upright position and it reverted back to its original state, a golden staff with a dragon’s head sitting on the top. The wolves’ response was snarling at her and started to focus on her instead of the ponies. “So be it,” she said.
The wolves charged at her and the human went into a battle stance. A wolf leaped into the air at her, but was knock out of the air by a hard batter from her staff. She quickly fired another ball of light and dodged a wolf’s leap attack. She kicked the wolf and channeled her magic into another spell and a bright ball glowed in her left hand, which she promptly tossed up. The ball then changed into several swords of light floating in the air, the woman then eyed her targets and thrust her right hand forward. The swords pointed down at their targets and plunged forward. Some of the swords hit their marks, and the wolves howled in pain. The wolves that were still standing started to flee from the area, running in terror from the woman.
The woman watched the pack of Bloodwolves flee; she then looked at the wolves that were just getting back up taking notice the others were fleeing and followed them. The woman let out a sigh of relief, “That end quickly than I have expected.” She looked over at the ponies that were all astound of what they saw.
“That was totally awesome,” Rainbow Dash said.
The woman blink a few times, “So I wasn’t going crazy when I thought of hearing voices in the woods coming from…horses.”
“Ponies,” Pinkie corrected.
“Okay… here let me get you all out of those branches.” She held two fingers near her face, closing her eyes focusing her mana into a spell. A symbol formed in air in front of her face, and then she opened her eyes and thrust her two fingers forwards casting her spell. Several small streams of light cut through the wood holding the ponies, releasing them without causing them any harm. The ponies got up from the ground shaking their body to get the bits of dirt and wood off of their fur.
“Thank you,” Twilight said. She took notice of the magic the human was casting. Jack told her that many creatures of Lore could use magic, but he rarely used it mostly because he said he wasn’t that good at it. However, this human seemed to be very skill at it. “Thank you for saving us from those wolves. I am Twilight Sparkle,” she then pointed introducing them, “this here is Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Talc. We’re looking for a person name Jack, do you know him?”
The woman face was distracted as if she was trying to remember something then it brightened, “You’re those ponies from Jack’s tale, when he was in Equestria. Why are you in a place like Doomwood?”
“It wasn’t exactly our choice,” Twilight answered. “We arrive here by random and met a creature name Zorbak, who told us that Falconreach was down this path.”
The woman scoffed at this, “You met the most mischievous Moglin and listen to him?” She shook her head grinning, “It seemed another group of adventurers fall for his “helping nature” routine. “ She looked around the recent battle scene, “Of course his little pranks usually aren’t this, life threatening; you must’ve upset him somehow.” She looked over at the ponies, “How rude of me, I still need to introduce myself.” She gesture a hand to herself, “My name is Angela Pedano, a Paladin Mage.” She did a slight bow, “Now how about I led you all out of this forest and help you get to Falconreach?”
“We appreciate that,” Twilight said.
“Follow me then and stay closed. This forest still has danger hidden throughout it.” The ponies gather around her and follow her down a new path.
*****************************
“It’s…big,” Eric told Jack. Jack was showing his friend Eric Thunderfang the new house that was built after Jack’s old one was burned down during the Friday 13th war. Which was strange since Jack’s house was the only one Sepulchure’s army deliberately burned down (probably part of Sepulchure’s wondrous sense humor).
“Yeah, it’s too big,” Jack replied. His new house was the new Dragonsgrasp House design, and it was three times as big to his old, simple three room, cottage. “I don’t need a home this big. It’s only me and Wistala living here.”
“Then you should’ve tired hard to convince the whole town that you didn’t need it,” Eric jokingly said.
“Hard if they kept playing the “I just save Lore from the ultimate darkness” card and feel the need to repay me.” Jack shook his head, “I guess I’ll just have to get used to its size.”
“And the fact that all of Lore probably owes you a favor too,” Eric added. The two friends laugh. Eric looked around, “I guess Wistala is still at the overlook?”
“Yep,” Jack looked off in the distance. “I don’t know have to properly handle the situation she’s in. This war just took the closest things she had to a mother, and she just had to kill her brother as well.” He shook his head in disbelief, “How do you comfort a dragon like that.”
“Hopefully by the help of another dragon,” Eric looked at Jack. “Cheer up Captain Jack, after Zalin talk to her, maybe you can give her some advice from how you handle,” he fumble with the next part, “…Rebecca’s death.” I don’t think Doomknight armor will fit a dragon, Jack thought to himself. “Now how about we head to Serenity’s Inn and let us orders a nice, warm meal for lunch.
“Yeah, okay,” Jack replied. They head to the inn, and Jack took a quick glance at the Guardian Tower that loomed over the town.
************************
Up at the tower there a small ledge where a purple dragon was laying on the ground looking down watching and listing to the waves clashed into the cliff. The sound of Guardian practicing also filled the young dragoness ears and then a voice spoke out in the Draconic language, “Good afternoon Wistala.”
Wistala let out a little sigh. “Not now Zalin,” she replied back in the same language.
“It’s never a good time for you,” he replied. Wistala saw a red dragon laying down a few feet away next to her. “You’ve been up here for the last week looking off in the distance; I think Jack is getting a bit worry about your state of mind.” Wistala looked over at Zalin, who was wearing a clam looked on his face.
“You must be either really brave or really stupid to talk to the dragon who took down the Super Mega Ultra Darkness Dracolich that ate the sun. “
“I believed that dragon was also your brother.”
“Stupid,” she annoyingly stated, “you really are stupid.”
“I think the correct term is stupid, but wise and also really funny,” he smugly replied. He looked at Wistala who was glaring at him. “Look I know it’s hard to fight our own kind, but that’s part of being part of the Dragonlord Order.” He raised a claw in the air, “Don’t give me the reason that you and Jack aren’t fully part of the Order. You two done enough to be official, even though you haven’t gone through the proper procedure.” Wistala stop glaring at him and looked back down at the water.
“It’s not that Zalin, I’m used to fight others dragon, and killing them if I have too. Suns I was ready to kill Fluffy as well if I have to,” she then bowed her head closing her eyes. “But when fighting SMUDD for the final time, I heard his voice for the first time, and he sounded sad. He told me were to strike to defeat him, and he said in a way as if he knew that there was no other way to stop SMUDD.” She opened her eyes, “I then realized about the way he was treated in life, how Sepulchure forced him into what he was, ordering him around like…like a dog. After we defeated SUMDD, I kind of wish that we would’ve find him and maybe help him to have a new life.”
Zalin looked at Wistala whom seemed was holding back tears. Choose your word wisely Zalin, otherwise she might let unleash the full force of the element of energy on you. “Look, I know there is nothing from my personal experience that can really help get you out of that gloaming mood, but I know something that will.” Wistala looked at Zalin with disbelief. “I know it been awhile since you eat, and it is close to noon and our riders are probably about to eat lunch at Serenity’s Inn.” Zalin then said with a roguish tone, “How about we go there and say, hello.”
Wistala knew what Zalin was saying, go into the inn and scare or jolt Jack and/or Eric into ruin their food; thus making Jack and Eric give the ruin food to their dragons as a meal. It was something Zalin found out to get something other than dragon chow for his meal. The two of them normally do this at least once a month, but Wistala didn’t feel up to it. “I think I pass for now, thanks for the offer…and trying to cheer me up.” Wistala got up and with a few strong strokes of her wings, along with a small run, flew off the cliff.
“Well, a least I got her to move,” Zalin whisper to himself.

As Angela and the four ponies got closer to the edge of Doomwood, the sky started to become brighter. Twilight took notice of this, at first she thought it was because of the natural passed of time, but the process went too fast. “Angela,” she asked, “is night time on Lore extremely short?”
“Actually the time is around noon I think,” Angela replied. “This is normal when walking out of Doomwood; the inner parts of the forest are always dark, ether by some ancient magic or by a powerful curse. Because of this, many minions from the element of darkness love to make Doomwood their home.“
“Then why were you in the forest?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“As part of the Paladin Order, it is my duty to protect the people of Lore, especially the people who made their home in Doomwood, from the minions of darkness that make their home here. Mostly from the undead, but for me personally I deal with wide variety.”
“People lived here,” Twilight asked in disbelief, “why do they live in a forest that can kill them at any moment. Are they crazy or something?!”
Angela softly laughed and answered, “No, mostly because they’re either adventurers looking for fortune in the many ruins or by monster hunting and don’t want to live too far away, or they were born here. They figure that they could make their own fortune by selling goods to the adventurers, or they like me, wanting to make the forest a safer place.”
“You were born here?”
Angela nodded her head, “I was born in a village called Moonridge, it just on the edge of the forest.” They finally left the outer edged of the forest and the sun’s light beam over them. “I’m afraid this is where must part for now. I have orders that I still need to fulfill,” she point to a path on their left, “just flow this path until you reach a golden statue, then take another left and it will lead you right to Falconreach. If anyone tries to stop you just say you’re looking Jack; I’m sure they let you by.”
“Thanks for your help,” Twilight and the others continued walking and went down the path Angela pointed out.
“Well she was very nice,” Pinkie said in her normal cheerful voice.
“Yes she was, I guess Jack isn’t the only hero around here,” Talc said.
“Well Jack did say he was part of a group of others heroes, so it’s not surprising to see others.” They walked up a small hill and saw the statue; a huge golden Cysero statue. “OOOO…shiny,” Pinkie said in amazed.
“Hey I think I see Falconreach,” Rainbow Dash excitingly said in the air. She started to fly towards the area and Twilight and the others gallop underneath Dash trying to keep up with her.
“Wait for us Dash,” Twilight yelled. As they were running, they ran pass some people who all looked at the galloping ponies in bewilderment.
Dash looked down and yelled, “Then run faster, I’m not waiting for one more….” She bumped into someone and almost fell out of the air. An angry voice which sounded like the grinning of two stones spoke out against her. Dash shook herself out of her dazed and looked at the being she bumped into. To her surprised it was a purple dragon who also looked surprised to see Dash.
“Dash,” Wistala asked in a questionable tone, “what are you doing here, and how?”
“Well it’s nice to see you too Wistala,” Dash said. “Twilight was able to make a dimensional spell thingy and we decided to come to visit Lore for a while.”
“Who are we?”
“Twilight, Pinkie, Talc and me; Applejack, Rarity and Fluttershy all had things to do back on Equestria.”
“Who’s Talc?”
“She’s Obsidian’s sister.”
“I see,” Wistala looked down and saw the three other ponies just catching up to Rainbow Dash. “Well, I bet you all are looking to met Jack. I know where he should be.” Wistala looked at Dash, “Come on, lets us not keep him waiting.”
****************************
“Come on Eric,” Zalin complain in the draconic language, “can’t I have some, ppppppppllllleeeeassseee.”
Eric looked at his dragon and flat out stated, “No. I had fallen for that trick too many times in the past, but not today. Plus I already fed you.”
“But I’m a growing dragon,” Zalin protested.
They continued among themselves in the draconic language. Jack was trying not to listen in and was just trying to enjoy his meal, but it was too hard not to. Jack tore another piece of bread and dipped it in his mash potatoes and gravy. Jack then tried to listen to the town through the window that was behind him. He softly heard the town’s folk talking about how their day went. However their conversation quickly turned into mummer of amazement and the sound of trotting hooves soon filled the air. At first Jack thought it was another caravan passing through town, but that thought soon faded away when he heard a familiar voice. “Oooo, what’s that, whose are those, and where does Cysero live?” No…it can’t be, he thought. The sound of the hooves then came from the small halfway in front of the inn, the door open and four colorful ponies being led by Wistala walked through the door.
“Hi, Jack,” Pinkie Pie said waving a hoof at him.

Chapter 3: Because of a Nail (or Frequency in this case)
Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at the four ponies in the inn. Jack looked at Wistala, damming for an explanation. “Don’t look at me like that,” she said in the draconic language, “they asked where you were and I just answered.” Jack raised an eyebrow at her.
“Jack,” Eric asked, “aren’t those ponies from your adventure several months ago.”
“Yes…yes they are.” Jack got up from his seat and walked toward his equine friends. “Twilight, Dash, Pinkie and,” pointing a finger at Talc, “aren’t you Obsidian’s sister.”
“Yes I am, and my name is Talc by the way.”
“I see,” Jack looked at Twilight. “Might I ask how you all got here?”
“Well three months after you left, I was able to make my own dimensional travel spell based on what Lim used and decided to come and have our owe adventure in Lore; seemed fair since you had one in Equestria.”
Twilight seemed to have more to say, but Jack interrupted her, “Twilight that’s good and all, but it’s been nearly nine months since the adventure I had in Equestria, not three.” Twilight and the others were taken back of what Jack said.
“But…how is that possible?” Twilight eyes moved rapidly trying to find reason in her mind.
“I don’t know,” Jack took a quick look around the inn. Lot of the people mummer to themselves and Serenity was nearly biting her nails, uncomfortable for having four ponies in her inn. “I think we need to take this conversation somewhere else.” Jack lowered his arms and urged the girls to follow him. Jack looked at Eric. “I’ll be back.”
“Na-uh I’m not missing this, I’m coming too.” Eric looked down at Zalin and said, “Come on Zalin you don’t want to miss this.” Zalin stopped advancing his head towards the forgotten food, and looked at his rider.
He thought for awhile think of what he wanted to do. “Sure, why not.” He leaped off the chair, and follow Eric and the others out of the inn.
*********************
Twilight walked out of the inn and Jack walked a head of her. “Follow me,” he told them. As Jack led them to a different place in Falconreach, Twilight had hundred of questions to asked, but hold herself until Jack was ready. So for now, she took mental notes. Jack had his hair the same way he had same way as before but was wearing something else. He was wearing a light black shirt and pants, and he had two gauntlets that looked as if they were made to channel some sort of energy. Twilight looked at the other human, whose hair was the same color as Jack, but was a bit long and he was wearing red steel plate armor with white under covering. She then looked at the two dragons who were trailing behind them. There was a red dragon with sliver like wings walking by and talking to Wistala. Twilight couldn’t exactly hear what was being said, but it sound like a conversation of two slabs of granite grinning against each other.
“His name is Zalin,” the other human said out making Twilight jump a little, “and my name is Eric Thunderfang.” Eric had a small smile on his face when Twilight looked at him, “You must be Twilight Sparkle, Jack told me about your curious nature. “
“I see,” Twilight looked back at the two dragons again and asked. “What language are they speaking?”
“That is the Draconic language, the native language which all dragons are born with.” Eric listened in of what Zalin and Wistala were talking about, “Right now Wistala is reminding Zalin the four of you. Which makes sense Zalin was mostly asleep when Jack and Wistala told their adventure in Equestria, and sometimes he has a bad memory too.“
“And I don’t like be reminded of that,” Zalin spoke out from behind them. Twilight and Eric looked behind them to see Zalin glaring at them.
“Sorry buddy,” Eric smiled as he did a small wave at him. Twilight also did a small apology smile and looked forward notice that Jack was leading them to huge house.
“Jack,” Dash’s voice spoke out in a questionable tone, “is that your house?”
Jack answered, “Yep, I just moved in so please…,” there was a rainbow streak and his front door open and shut in the blink of an eye, “…be careful of the unpack items in there.”
Eric let out a low whistle, “You weren’t kidding Jack; she is really fast.”
“Don’t forget she also has bad hearing too.” Jack continued to the door and held it open, inviting Twilight, Pinkie, and Talc to come in. “Ladies, I would like to welcome you to my home, please mind the mess.”
As Twilight walked inside, she could defiantly tell that this house was brand new. The smell of wood glue and paint was still fresh in the air. Along with those two smells was the smell of hay, which was coming from the multiple wooded boxes that were laid throughout the hall. Dash was already rummaging through one of them and pulled out a small black gem stone. “What’s this,” she asked in amazement as she held it up at eye level. It softly glowed as if something was about to happen, but Jack pluck it out of her hooves and held it firm in his hand.
“A very powerful and dangerous magical artifact,” he answered in hard tone. The artifact cease glowing and Jack put it back in the box. “Can you please not touch the items that are inside the boxes; I just got this house, and I don’t want to replace it just yet.”
Rainbow Dash looked down with her ears flat, “Sorry Jack.”
Jack felt his heart come out of his chest and slapped his face from the sight of Dash being mental hurt. “Look…I didn’t mean to be harsh. Just asked me before picking something up okay, I don’t want you to get hurt by your curiosity.” Dash smiled and nodded her head. “Now then, you girls want any food or water?”
“Na, the hay here is just fine,” Pinkie Pie answered. Everyone looked and saw Pinkie eating the packing hay out of one of the boxes.
“Pinkie,” Jack shouted out, “what did I just say.”
“I’m not touching any items, plus this box is empty.” She took more hay and chew. “Plus this hay is really good,” she said with her mouth full.
Jack just shook his head in disbelief, “Alright then, how about you three.” They all shook their heads. “Right, now Twilight, care to shed some light on how you all got her,” Jack sat down on top of one of the boxes. Twilight began her tale about how she took readings from the second portal Lim made and use them as a base for her spell. How for the first part she was able to make a gateway for the portal, but making it connect to another world and making it stable was as easy as she thought. She tried many different attempts but they all failed and she gave up after her friends convince her she was trying too hard. However after a month pass and the invasion of Canterlot by the changeling was thwarted, Twilight had an idea of how to get her spell to work. She tried it and it work. She then told their small adventure they had in Doomwood and how they got here.
“I see,” Jack said. I must thank Angela later, and visit Zorbak too, he thought. “So Twilight…what ever happen to the changeling’s queen?”
“Huh?” Twilight wasn’t expecting that question. “Well, she was cast out to the far reaches of the borders of Equestria with the rest of her subjects.”
“So, she is still alive?” Twilight nodded her head. “Then you should head back and tell your captain of the guard to have your borders watch thoroughly.”
“What,” Dash objective, “we went too far to just pack up and head back to Equestria, we just got here.”
“Because you girls don’t belong here on Lore, it’s too dangerous.”
“Because of what happen in Doomwood? We were able to handle those skeletons that attack us…”
“But not the Bloodwolves,” Jack interrupted her. “Dash any new adventurer can defeat a group of skeleton…even Ash, but there are far worse monster here on Lore. You’re lucky the portal didn’t open into a dragon’s den.” Dash about to say something else, but Jack raised a hand stopping her. “Let me finish. If what Twilight told me is true, and that small Changeling War was your first war in a long time, then Lore is not the place for you to sight see. Especially here in Falconreach, the most notorious town to get attack about every other month,” Jack looked at everypony face. “I’m happy to see you and it will pain me if something happen to you.” Sighing he final spoke something he might regret, “However, if you can show me that you all can get back to Equestria at any time, then you all can stay for a now.”
Dash smiled at this, “Go ahead Twilight and show him your spell.” Twilight looked at Dash with small annoyance at being order, but she then closed her eyes and began to cast her spell. The wind in front of her swirl a little and the gateway from, and shortly after the portal was made. Twilight opened her eyes expecting to see her library or maybe some other part of Ponyville, but instead it was the same part of Doomwood as before. Twilight’s month gap slightly in disbelief, and Jack raised an eyebrow.
“That’s an old path in Doomwood Twilight, not Equestria,” Jack stated.
“I…I don’t know what went wrong. I cast the spell exactly the same way as before.” Her eyes rabidly dance as she tried think of why then she realized something. “The frequency…I don’t have our world’s frequency.” She sat down, “I don’t have a way to get back to Equestria.”
“WHAT?!” Both Talc and Dash shouted out. Pinkie took another bit of hay as if nothing happen and Jack let out a small disappointed sigh.
“I’ll be back,” he said as he got up and head for the door, “I’m going to see someone who could probably help.” He stopped at the door, “Eric, how about you show the girls around town. Introduce them to the townsfolk since it seemed they’re going to be here for a while.” He walked out and shut the door and left them all a bit confused.
“Well,” Wistala said, “Anyone up to see the park?”
**********************************
It wasn’t a long walk to Lim’s shop, and Jack was soon knocking on his door. “One moment,” Lim’s voice answered. There was a sound of fumbling equipment and the door open to the town’s science weapons expert who looked a bit messy than usual. “Ah, Jack. It’s nice to see you. Sorry about the mess, I was busy doing the work of SCIENCE.” Lim open door wider and offered Jack to come in.
“I see that.” Jack walked inside and noticed Lim was taking apart the many lamps that help cast the Light Shield around Falconreach last week. “I have a favor to ask of you. Remember that portal you made to get me back from Equestria those many months ago?”
“Yes…why do you asked?”
“Well it seemed four ponies from there decided to come over here for a visit, and they have no way back. So I wonder if you can rebuild the portal using the stone you still have and formed a way for them to get back.”
“I would love to Jack, but I no longer have stone since you told me to destroy…”
Jack stopped him, “You don’t have to lie Lim. A few months ago Lime was taking about how you were experimenting on a stone that has a resistance to magic. So…do you still have it?”
Lim felt uneasy as Jack glared at him, waiting for an answer. “Look…I tried to destroy it like you told me, but nothing worked. My curiosity of how it worked took over, and I decided to make it into a small side project of mine. Unfortunately I could never figure out how and just decided to store it until my next idea to make it tell me its secrets.”
“So, that will be a yes then.” Lim was surprised of the lack of anger in Jack’s voice. “Lim…if I wanted to stop you from studying the stone I would’ve done it the moment I heard Lime’s tale. But since there weren’t any destructive golems attacking the town at the time, I decided to let it pass. So can you or can you not rebuild the portal?”
“Of course I can, but…” Lim did some calculations in his head, “I used a lot of my metal to help build the lamps, so I don’t think I have enough metal to build it.”
“Let me guess, you need me to get more for you?”
“That would be helpful.”
“All right then, I should head over to Dr. Voltabolt to see if he has some to spare then.” Jack walked out of Lim’s shop and started to make his way to Surewood.
Lim watch Jack walked out then looked at the mess in the room. “Lime,” he shouted out, “I need you to clear out a space in this room.” Lim then walked down into his basement to the spot where he stored the mysterious stone. He opened a hidden cabinet and notice something was completely different. The symbol on the stone was now glowing. “That’s different,” he obviously stated out.
**********************
A few hours ago, back on Equestria when Rainbow Dash stick her hoof in the portal for the first time and made the energy wave, the energy wave went through both worlds. On Lore it caused three nearby undead to go crazy and made Lim’s stone to activate which send out a signal. That signal went back through the portal before it closed and went to the far reaches of the Equestria borders. In a cave somewhere another symbol on a stone object softly glowed to life.
