Chapter 6

...and you let her go

'Well you need the light when it's burning low'

'Only miss the sun when it starts to snow'

' You stupid fucking idiot, how could you just treat her like shit? And now she is over you and with that hick Big Mac'  Dumbbell thought to himself as he lay on his couch in his dark apartment, he wondered how she could have gotten over him so quickly. He sighed as he rolled over and looked out the window, ' another gloomy fucking day' he thought to himself again as he got up and got something to eat. As he ate all he could think about was how happy Rainbow Dash looked without him, he felt the sting of tears prick at his eyes. ' Stupid Rainbow Dash' he said to himself as he scrubbed at his eyes. Dumbbell looked at Cloudchaser as she snored away in his bed, ' God, I really am stupid' Dumbbell thought as he stared at Cloudchaser. He shook his head and put on his uniform and got ready to work with the weather team for the day, he closed his door and took flight. He hoped that Rainbow Dash wasn't going to be at work, he looked behind him at Hoops and Score, they knew why he was in this mood. Dumbbell flew quietly and looked around to make sure Rainbow Dash wasn't around, he relaxed a little when he didn't see her. He landed by the weather factory and made his way to his bosses office to see what he had to do. After the storm, he was supposed to clear clouds, he walked with Hoops and Score who would be helping him.

"Hey man, how are you doing today?" Hoops asked. Dumbbell looked at him, then back at the floor.

"I'm not doing too well, I just have a lot on my mind today," he said as they wandered around the factory.

(Rainbow Dash's POV)

I opened my eyes, it was gloomy today. I was in a good mood today. I smiled to myself as I got up and made my bed, I flew out the window to get for a quick fly. The cool air felt amazing flowing through my mane, it had a brisk feeling to it. It woke me up, I appreciated a day like this. I stopped by Fluttershy's I wanted some of that tea she made, I knocked on her door. She opened the door, she saw me and her eyes lit up.

"Oh Dashie! I'm so glad that you came over. Do you want some of that Rose hip tea?"  she asked. I nodded as I walked by her. I sat down onto her fluffy couch, I snuggled into the couch. I heard Fluttershy making the tea, I watched as some of the animals fluttered around, sleeping, and snuggling with each other. I saw Fluttershy coming over to me handing me a mug full of tea, I took a drink. Smiling as the warm liquid ran down my throat. "So Dashie what are your plans for today?" she asked.

"Well, I didn't have much planned for today, I took a fly and came to see you. Other than that I had plans to see Twilight today"  I smiled. Fluttershy nodded as she took another sip of tea. I sat there looking out the window, I could see it was starting to rain. "Great it's raining"  I said, smiling.

"I guess it could be worse. It could be raining harder than this"  Fluttershy smiled. I just nodded. Fluttershy got up and turned on her stereo, I smiled when I heard the song. It was definitely one of my favorites. Fluttershy and I started dancing around, Angel was even into the music. I heard a loud clap of thunder, I jumped a little. Fluttershy and I started laughing.

"Well Fluttershy I better head over to Twilight's library,"  I smiled at my best friend. I decided to walk, the rain was getting harder, I didn't want to hurt my wings. After about half an hour I finally made it to Twilights Library. I knock on the door. Spike opens the door.

"Rainbow Dash, come in. I'm making my Daisy drop soup"  Spike smiled. I just nodded. Twilight smiled when she saw me.

"Hey, you,"  she smiled. She handed me a cup of cinnamon tea, I smiled as I took a sip. I closed my eyes as the warm liquid warmed me up. I sat at the table and watched as Spike was finishing his soup up, I sipped at my tea.

"So Rainbow Dash what did you plan for today?''  Twilight asked as she sat at the table with me. I just smiled.

"Well, I already went to see Fluttershy, then it started raining. So I hurried over here to see you. Other than that I have nothing else planned" I said, sipping on my tea. Twilight smiled as she poured herself some more tea.

"Nice well you can hang out with us for a while" Twilight smiled. I just nodded. Spike finished his soup and started pouring it into huge bowls, I was so looking forward to this soup. It was one of my favorites, Spike gave me my bowl and I started to dig in. I took my time and savored every spoonful. I closed my eyes, Spike's soup was amazing. It was always so warm and always tasted amazing. As I finished my soup, I sat back.

"Man, I suppose I should start heading home," I said to Twilight. She smiled and took my bowl, she put it in the sink for Spike to wash, I waved goodbye as I flew out of the window. It was starting to get colder, I shivered as I flew through the cloudy sky. My cloud house was in view, I smiled to myself once I landed on the front steps. I walked into my house, it was freezing in here! I walked over to my fireplace and started a nice warm fire, I grabbed my blanket and curled up to watch a Daring Do movie. I started to drift off to sleep.

*(Dumbbell's POV)*

I sighed to myself as I walked through the door, today had been one of the worst days of my life. 'Stupid clouds' I thought to myself. I flopped down on my couch, I looked around my dark empty apartment. I was expecting to see Cloudchaser just hanging around, maybe she got the hint I didn't want her here anymore. I grabbed a blanket and curled up, I was starting to feel alone. I wonder if this is how Rainbow Dash felt when I left her, I could feel tears pricking at the corner of my eyes. I didn't know what to do with my life anymore, I was unhappy. Rainbow Dash was happy, I was alone. Rainbow Dash had Big Mac, I felt tears falling down my face. I wanted her back, but I knew I'd never have her in my life again. I let the warm tears fall, I just laid there. Letting it all out, maybe I would feel better if I did? Who knows, I slowly started to close my eyes.

*(Rainbow Dash's POV)*

I woke up to someone yelling from the ground below, I sighed and got up. I stretched out my wings  and let out a loud yawn. I opened the front door to see Big Mac.

"There you are Rainbow" he smiled up at me, I smirked at him.

"Of course I'm here what are you doing Big Red?" I asked as I fluttered to the ground. He smiled at me, I wondered what he was thinking.

"Rainbow Dash I was wondering, would you like to be my girlfriend?" he asked, my eyes widened. I nodded happily. He hugged me tightly, I sighed as I hugged back. I was finally with Big Mac somepony I should have been with from the very beginning.

"I'm going to make this last forever Big Red, I've always loved you. I should have picked you in the beginning" I said kissing him. He smiled at me. "What?" I asked smiling back.

"I'm glad you finally realized I've been in front of you your whole life" he said.

"Awe you big cheeseball" I said as I ruffled his dirty blond hair. He blushed and looked down at the ground, I lifted his head with my hoof. I kissed his cheek and we started walking towards the farm, I have a feeling Big Mac and I will last for years. I am finally happy, I can't believe I didn't pick him from the start. He's the perfect Stallion for me, I'm wild he's shy. I'm proud and he's simple. He brings the mare out of me more. I'm glad that he isn't so shy to share his feelings with me, he also has a more playful side because of me and he's all mine. I smiled at him as I nuzzled against him. This was just the beginning of our life, I can't wait to see what is to come.
