The Great War

Spike's Father, Spike's Father, Spike's father

Those are the same two words I say to myself over and over. Those same two words as I read and reread the letter, then just staring until that one sentence became blurry. I sat on the couch that was conveniently behind me, and just sat there digesting this information. "Wow." Twilight says coming over to sit next to me.

I look up at her and give a smile, though it might have been wobbly. "Yeah... Wow." I repeat continuing to just sit there. Eventually Twilight gets up and walks over to the plate that's shattered on the floor, and uses her magic to cleanup the mess. I also go over to help her. "Here Twi, let me handle-" at this time I am interrupted by a bundle of pink fuzz busting through our door. I wish I'd stop being cut off mid-sentence.

"HEY TWILIGHT AND SPIKE!" Pinkie screams after she enters the library. "My Pinkie-sense told me there was a huge development in the story! But the Mr. Author Guy won't tell me what it is! So tell me, WHAT HAPPENED!" Pinkie says all this with without taking a breath, and hopping around the room. By now in my life I thought I'd get used to all the strange things she does, I was wrong, very wrong. So I'm going to not mention her earlier sentence.

After a little rubbing of the temples, and a quick 'it's Pinkie' sigh, Twilight answers Pinkie's question. "Pinkie we just received a letter from Princess Celestia that she has Spike's Father waiting to see him."

*LONG DRAWN OUT GASP* "WE HAVE TO TELL THE OTHERS!" She screams as she runs out the library.

"NO, WAIT! PINKIE!" Twilight and I both yell after her.

Too late she's already out of sight. Twi and I both sigh a 'it's Pinkie' sigh again. I look over at Twilight. "Well, that could have gone worse." she chuckles. "How 'bout I make us lunch and we just wait on them to arrive?" I say as I head for the kitchen.

She smiles and shuts the door. "That sounds wonderful." She replies coming after me.

with in a hour or so the gang was all here, and panting. Even Fluttershy, where speed isn't her strong suit. I guess hereing about my Dad was big news.

"WE SHOULD HAVE A 'SPIKE'S GOING TO MEET HIS DAD AFTER 17 YEARS' PARTY! THERE CAN BE CAKE AND CUPCAKES AND PUNCH AND-" Pinkie was silenced by Applejack.

"Look Sugercube, I know herein' about Spike's Dad is exciting an' all but I think we should keep this on the down low, okay?" Pinkie, who still had AJ's hand on her mouth, just simple nodded and sat down.

At that point Fluttershy spoke up, "I think it's great that Spike is going to meet his real dad," Fluttershy has gotten bolder over the years. "if that's okay with you guys." Even if it was slight.

"Yeah Shy, we're all happy for the kid but what do we know about him? what if he's like coming to get Spike to wage war or something?" RainbowDash asked.

"Rainbow!" yelled Applejack.

"What?"

"I swear, does somethin' not stupid come out of that mouth of yers'?"

"Guys!" shouted Twilight, "Can you stop? I'm sure it's not something like war, there hasn't been a war sense the Griffin Wars of the Old Times. There is a logical explanation that the Princess will explain when we Go to the meeting." I hope she's right.

"Exactly Darling! I'm sure its going to be simple fabulous, and every thing will be fine." Said Rarity, putting in her two cents.

I finally decided to speak up. "Than we should get going," I said getting up off the couch that I was sitting in. "Twilight if you would." As an alicorn, Twilight's magic had increased drastically, so much so I new she could handle all seven of us with breaking a sweat.

"Sure Spike, okay everyone stand still. And with a flash we were off to meet the one guy I thought I'd never meet.
