Chapters The calm before the storm
Night had settled over Ponyville covering the small town in its darkness, and the only source of light in the entire town was from a purple magical glow shining through a window of the local library. The Alicorn responsible for the magic was holding a long scroll in her magical grasp, intently studying the formula she had written down with a critical eye. She once again dipped her quill into her ever dwindling supply of ink, and after a few more jots here, and some scribbles there, Twilight Sparkle was finally satisfied with her results.
Twilight yawned tiredly and went to take a sip of coffee, when she realized her cup was empty as was the coffee pot. Being careful not to disturb the delicate parchment hanging from her walls, Twilight made her way to the kitchen and put the pot on the stove to boil so she could make more of her much needed coffee.
For the past five days and nights she had been working on deciphering Star Swirl the Bearded’s book on creating the Lost Rune, and her diet had been nothing more than noodles and coffee. But now almost finishing her assignment she just needed another boost of energy to see her through to the end.
As she waited for the water to boil, Twilight pulled a photograph off the fridge which showed Rainbow Dash grabbing Twilight and giving her a noogie. Twilight smiled fondly and placed the photograph carefully back on the fridge. She missed Rainbow Dash, especially the pegasus’ smile, and continuous attention, but it was for those reasons she had asked her lover to move out while she completed the assignment Princess Celestia had given her. She was just too damn distracting, especially those athletically toned flanks, and silky feathers. Twilight shook her head to clear it as she realized the Pegasus was a distraction even when she wasn’t near.
Twilight turned the stove off and finished making her coffee, before going back into the lounge room and once again studying the formula hanging from the walls with a critical eye. Once again her findings led her to conclude that everything was as it should be and there was nothing stopping her from moving to the second phase, which was creating the actual rune. Twilight placed her cup where it wouldn’t spill over everything, and stepped into the area of the lounge room she had cleared of all furniture.
Creating the rune wasn’t going to be easy, it involved creating a pattern of different runes each one with a specific meaning and purpose. If done right, the pattern of runes will create one entire rune with the ability to protect the wearer from all spells. It worked by collecting the magic stored within the spells, and throwing it in a constant recharging loop. That was the theory anyway, and a lot of things could go wrong with potentially disastrous consequences should she be off by even a tiny fraction. But Twilight was confident even in her fatigued, and coffee fulled state she would be able to pull it off perfectly.
On the floor in front of her was the quill she would be using to draw the runes, but unlike the rest of her quills, this one had a razor sharp metal point on it she had designed for this exact purpose. Taking a deep breath Twilight picked it up in her magical grasp and began channeling her magic through it, this was the part she was dreading the most. Beginning on her face, Twilight placed the quill on her left temple and bit her lip to stop herself from crying out as the quill dug into her flesh and began carving out the rune. Blood ran down her face mixing with her silent tears as she tried her best to ignore the pain.
Each rune she drew took ten to fifteen minutes, and by the time she had finished the second last rune, Celestia had begun rising the sun for a new day, her entire body was aching and covered in sticky blood from the superficial cuts. But now she had to do the one rune she dreaded above all the others. The rune of pleasure. Wincing in pain, Twilight bent over flicking her tail to one side to expose her marehood. The quill began its work, and Twilight shoved a hoof in her mouth as she cried out in both pain and pleasure. Pain obviously being the overriding sensation. A noise upstairs alerted her to the fact Spike was now awake, and she heard his soft foot steps walking down the stairs.
“Go back to bed Spike!” She yelled praying he would listen.
“I’ve got to make breakfast.” The dragon mumbled tiredly.
“I’ll take care of breakfast; you just go back to bed!”
But it was too late and Spike froze mid step when he saw Twilight and what she was doing. “Why couldn’t you just listen to me Spike?” Twilight muttered. Spike blinked a few times, and opened his mouth to say something only to close it again before walking back up the stairs. Thankfully the rune was just about done, and Twilight made her way to the bathroom to get clean up. One thing she knew for sure, it was going to be a while before she ever clopped again.
Twilight sighed as the warm water from the shower washed over her body creating small crimson rivers which disappeared down the drain. When she was done, Twilight looked herself over in the mirror; her whole body was covered in shallow cuts forming complicated patterns of runes, which were now beginning to sting once more. Twilight bought out the fist aid kit and began wrapping bandages around the more complicated and larger runes that would take longer to heal. When she was done, she walked back into the kitchen and cleaned up her blood off the floor, and pulled the scrolls from the wall rolling them up and placing them safely in the chest.
“You can come down now Spike,” Twilight called up the stairs. Spike walked down the stairs avoiding eye contact with Twilight as he walked into the kitchen to begin making breakfast.
"What were you actually doing?" Spike asked, "you were covered in blood and doing something freaky with a quill." Twilight sighed and levitated a pillow from the lounge room before sitting down.
"It was a necessary part of the ritual in creating the Lost Rune. Without even the most inconsequential rune, the powers of the Lost Rune won't work, and all my studying this past week would have been for nothing." Spike glanced over Twilight''s body seeing the small scars showing through the bandages.
"I can't believe Celestia would ask you to do something like that to yourself."
"Actually she didn't. The princess only wanted me to decipher Star's Swirl's notes, I was the one who made the decision to see if it actually worked." Spike's mouth dropped open.
"You actually did that to yourself not knowing if it was going to work, are you crazy?"
"No Spike I'm not crazy. I know the individual runes themselves will work, but whether they work together to form the Lost Rune is the part I don't know."
"Man, Rainbow is going to be super upset when she sees you like this."
"Yes she is. But I'll deal with that problem when it arises. But right now all I want is a decent meal, and a solid ten hour rest."
"Well I can help you with the meal," Spike said placing a plate of mixed berry pancakes an a glass of apple juice in front of the Alicorn. Twilight was just about to take a bite of Spike's delicious cooking, when a knock at the door caused her to stop with the pancake halfway to her mouth.
"Looks like you're going to have deal with that problem sooner than you expected."
Twilight considered hiding as the dragon went to answer the door, but then common sense told her it would be better to get this over as soon as possible. Sighing, Twilight placed the pancake back on the plate and turned to face Rainbow as she walked into the library.
Rainbow felt the blood drain from her face as she saw the bandages covering most of her lover's body, and the complicated pattern of shallow cuts the bandages didn't cover. Twilight shifted uncomfortably, and used her wings to try and cover her body, but only succeeding in revealing the runes cut into her feathered appendages.
"What happened? Rainbow asked unthinkingly pulling Twilight into a tight hug, causing the Alicorn to gasp in pain. "you look like something rarity's cat scratched up!"
"Dashie I'm a little sensitive at the moment. I'll be happy to answer your questions as soon you let go." Immediately the Pegasus released her hold on Twilight and stepped back.
"Who did this to you?"
"Nopony did this to me, I did it myself last night."
"Why the hay would you do something like this, are you crazy? Is that why you didn't want me to be here?" Twilight sighed and stood so she could delicately rearrange the bandages Rainbow had pulled out of place. But unfortunately Rainbow caught a glimpse of one of the deeper and more serious runes, and she paled even further.
"That was one of the reasons, but mostly because you're just too distracting." Rainbow didn't even try fake a smile, she was still too shocked about what Twilight had done to herself.
"Honestly Dashie I'm fine, in an hour or so they'll be completely healed and we can make up for being apart this week. Plus it'll give me a chance to try out a rune I think you'll like." Twilight whispered, kissing Rainbow softly. The Pegasus felt her worry and uncertainty melt away, to be replaced with electric tingles running through her body. Rainbow delicately pulled Twilight closer and ran a hoof through her mane, and Spike cleared his throat.
"Uh, girls still here." Immediately the two ponies pulled away nervously running a hoof through their manes. "Never mind, I'm leaving." Twilight's horn glowed shutting the front door before the dragon could walk out.
"And where do you think you're going?"
"Well the cutie mark crusaders are having a picnic to brainstorm ideas about earning their cutie marks, and they invited me along to join them." Twilight relinquished her magic off the door.
"Very well, but be back by five O'clock this afternoon. We've got to weather proof the library before the Pegasus weather ponies bring in the snow clouds for winter next week."
"Will do." Spike said running out the door.
Twilight knew her lover wouldn't make too much off a fuss when Spike was nearby, he was still too young to witness a lover's quarrel without becoming upset, and she prepared herself for an angry torrent of words. Rainbow however just looked at her with a blank expressionless face.
"Aren't you mad at me?" Twilight asked quietly.
"Of course I'm mad at you! Did you think about what I would have done if something had gone wrong, before you decided to carve yourself up. Did you think about what I would have done if you had died during your little experiment. Or what about Spike, did you think about what would have happened to him if you had died?"
Tears ran down Twilight's face as she realized the consequences if she had failed, and she pulled Rainbow into a tight hug not caring about the pain it caused her. "Dashie, I'm so sorry!" Rainbow Dash hugged her girlfriend back being careful of her wounds, and comforted the crying Alicorn.
"You're safe Twilight and That's all that matters, just promise me you'll never do anything like this again. At least not without me being there to make sure you're okay."
"I promise, Dashie."
"Anyway, the reason I came over is because I've got a surprise for you."
And what a cold and dark storm it was.
"Can I look now, Dashie?" Twilight asked attempting to lift the blindfold Rainbow had placed over her eyes, only to have the Pegasus pull her hoof away.
"Not yet Sparkles, we're almost there." Twilight huffed and continued allowing herself to be guided by Rainbow to where ever she was taking her. Twilight just wished the runes would hurry up and finish healing, that way she could activate the rune of sight and she would be able to see even if she was blindfolded. Twilight felt the cobble stones of the streets turn to grass and Rainbow pulled her to a stop.
"And we're here!"
Twilight blinked in the sudden bright morning light as Rainbow tore the blindfold off revealing a blanket spread out on the shore of Ponyville lake covered with all her favourite foods. There were apple fritters, apple pies, two bottles of apple cider, and one candy apple. Twilight's stomach rumbled loudly as she took in all the food laid in front of her.
"Aren't you glad I convinced you to skip breakfast?" Rainbow asked sitting down on the blanket to dish out the food. Twilight joined her girlfriend tucking her tail between her legs to cushion her still sore marehood. Rainbow noticed, and her mouth dropped open.
"Don't tell me you marked your fun spot as well!" Twilight blushed and took a sip of her cider.
"Not that it's any of your business."
"Well actually it kinda is, especially as I was planing to end this picnic with something special for you."
"Just wait a couple more hours and you still can."
"I can spare a couple of hours." Rainbow said handing Twilight a plate of food.
Twilight had to admit there was nothing better than having a proper meal after living the past week on nothing more than coffee and noodles. She finished her plate in record time, even finishing before Rainbow, which was a feat in itself. Twilight held out her plate in her magical grasp.
"Is there anymore?"
"Damn Twilight, you must have been hungry. You can have the rest of mine."
"But that's your food!"
"Honestly Twilight you'd being doing me a favor, I've been eating more than I should lately."
Normally Twilight would argue further but right now she was really hungry, and she only felt a little guilty when she took the plate from Rainbow. By the time she was done eating, she had also finished her bottle of cider off, and now she was ready for a long nap. Yawning tiredly Twilight laid down by Rainbow's side and, the Pegasus delicately placed a wing over her Princess' sensitive body.
"Hey Rainbow Dash!"
Twilight was woken suddenly from her nap by Scootaloo's shout, and she looked over as the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike made their way over to their picnic.
"Hey Scoots," Rainbow greeted, "got any new tricks to show me."
"You bet!"
Twilight abandoned any thought of continuing her restful nap, and stood up stretching her limbs. "what are you four up to. I thought you were brainstorming ideas of earning your cutie marks."
"We did," Sweetie bell said, "we're going to be Cutie Mark life savers."
"Uh-huh, and who are you planning on saving from draining?"
"That's where Spike comes in." Applebloom said. "He's going to swim out into the lake and pretend to drown, then we're going to go out and save him."
"And exactly how long did it take for you to come up with that idea?"
"Five minutes." Scootaloo cut in. "Whoa what happened to you? Did you step on Rarity's cat or something?" Twilight was about to answer when Rainbow cut her off.
"So Scootaloo, about those sweet moves you were going to show me."
"Maybe Later Rainbow. Right now I got a cutie mark to earn." With that Scootaloo threw Spike in the middle of the lake with instructions to start drowning, and the three fillies began swimming out to him.
"When will they ever learn?"
"They're just fillies," Rainbow pointed out, "they'll get smarter when they get older."
"I hope so or Equestria is going to be in a lot of trouble."
"Let's leave them to their fun." Rainbow suggested and began packing up the picnic. Twilight helped by levitating the saddlebags over and holding them open for Rainbow Dash to put everything in. Once they were done they left the lakes, and waved goodbye to the Cutie Mark Crusaders struggling on the shore as they tried to untangle themselves from a length of rope. Twilight wrapped a wing over Rainbow Dash pulling her close to protect her from the cold Autumn air that began blowing in from the Everfree Forest.
"Just once, I'd like a winter where I don't have to deal with snow clouds blowing in from the Everfree Forest."
"Don't worry Dashie," Twilight said nuzzling the Pegasus' cheek, "I can help you clear up the clouds."
"Are you sure a delicate princess like yourself can perform weather duties?"
Twilight hit Rainbow over the head with her wing before pulling her closer once more. Rainbow always loved the feeling of having a wing wrapped around her. When she was a filly she would often go under her parent's wings whenever she was upset, or frightened of something. It gave her a sense of warmth, and security, her own little haven where she could retreat to, where nothing could harm her. Even to this day she continued loving that feeling. But to Twilight's continued annoyance, Rainbow's ego would never let her be seen as somepony who needed protecting, but as somepony who protected. So when they came within view of Ponyville theirs wings switched places and they walked up to Applejack's stall in the Ponyville market place.
"Howdy, love birds, what can ah do for ya? Whoa! Twilight what happened to you."
"Don't worry I'm completely fine, I'm just trying out some new type of magic."
"Well ah can see that. You're glowin'." Twilight looked over her body and sure enough the runes were glowing with dark electric blue light.
"It's about time." Twilight muttered, and began removing her bandages.
"What the hay kinda magic are ya playing with Twi?"
"It's rune magic." The Alicorn explained, "the runes are kind of like batteries that can store a lot of magical power, when accessed that power can only do what the rune says. But Star Swirl the Bearded found a way to combine a series of runes in a specific pattern so they form one entire rune, that can store an infinite amount of magic which can than be used to make my spells more powerful and effective."
"So can non-magical ponies use runes?"
"They can. But they'd need to be recharged by a unicorn once you've used their powers up."
"Do ya have any runes that can make ya stronger, and see in the dark. That'd sure be handy once winter comes."
"This one, and these ones." Twilight said pointing to a rune on her shoulder, and the runes beside her eyes. Rainbow pointed to the particular complicated runes covering her wings.
"What about those ones? Do they make you fly superfast or something? Because I could use a real challenge when racing."
"No Rainbow, that's a phoenix rune."
"What's it do?"
"Maybe I'll show you when we're clearing up the clouds."
"They're putting you on weather duties now?"
"No, I told Rainbow I'd help her clear up the clouds that came in from the Everfree Forest."
"Really, A delicate Princess like you?" Applejack asked, and both she and Rainbow burst out laughing. Twilight glared at them both, before turning around to walk away.
"Just for that I won't tell you how amazingly perfect your food was on our picnic date."
"You're welcome!" Applejack called out to the retreating couple.
------------------------------------------------
Back at the library, Twilight was in her bedroom standing in front of the full length mirror studying the glowing runes covering her body. The pattern of glowing runes was actually extremely beautiful Rainbow realized, especially the way the dark electric blue light contrasted with her lover's violet fur.
"So can you switch the glowing off, or is it permanent?"
"Don't know." Twilight said, sitting down next to Rainbow, who began tracing a hoof over the runes following their spiraling pattern all across the Alicorn's body. "I just read Star Swirl's book which only explained how to create them, it didn't say anything about this. But I have a theory that it's because they're charging themselves with my magic, once their fully activated the runes should stop glowing."
Rainbow pulled her girlfriend closer and ran her hoof over the runes covering Twilight's chest.
"So which one of these runes were you talking about when you said I would like one of them." Twilight grabbed Rainbow's hoof and slowly guided it down past her waist so it stopped directly over her rune of pleasure.
"That one." Twilight gasped when electric tingles from the rune ran through her body, as Rainbow slowly began massaging her. Rainbow bought her now soaked hoof to her mouth and began licking Twilight's juices off it.
"You're right, this is definitely my favourite. What's it called?"
"The rune of pleasure." Twilight whispered. Rainbow laid back, pulling Twilight on top of her, and opened her legs.
"Just how much pleasure does it give?"
"Let's find out." Twilight whispered kissing Rainbow, running her tongue across her lover's lips before slipping her tongue into her mouth, moaning as she tasted a bit of herself in Rainbow's mouth. Rainbow held Twilight tightly before flipping over to reverse their positions. "I don't think so Dashie. You were on top last time." Twilight's horn glowed and Rainbow was flipped over onto her back. Before she could do anything Twilight's magic enveloped her limbs and kept them pinned to the bed. "Just lay back and enjoy the ride." Twilight locked their lips together once more, before positioning the glowing rune of pleasure over Rainbow's own marehood and softly lowered herself down. As soon as they connected, they both gasped as a thousand sensations beyond words coursed through their warm wet spots of pleasure.
"It's....."
"Amazing." Twilight said finishing her soulmate's sentence, and began rubbing their marehood's together sending more undescribable sensations through their bodies. Rainbow tried to meet Twilight's thrusts with her own, but the Alicorn's magic kept her immobile, and she could only squirm underneath her lover.
A few short seconds later, Twilight cried out and began thrusting harder more deeper, as the pleasure of the most intense orgasm in her life ran through her body. She collapsed onto Rainbow's chest releasing her magic, and the Pegasus held Twilight's hips in position, as she fell into a realm of orgasmic bliss she didn't even know existed. Twilight kissed her lover deeply to muffle Rainbow's screams, as her juices soon joined Twilight's in covering the sheets. Rainbow fell back a look of absolute bliss covering her face.
"How was that even possible." Rainbow gasped as she tried to catch her breath.
"It's quite simple," Twilight said rolling off of Rainbow's chest, a string of their juices still keeping them connected. "The rune of pleasure connects us together in such a way that your pleasure becomes mine, and mine yours. The more we love each other, the more intense the pleasure."
"No kidding." Rainbow said still breathing heavily, "even after a sonic rainboom I'm not this tired. I don't think I'll be walking for a week." The Alicorn was about to say something, but Rainbow kissed her softly on the lips before she got the chance, and began moving downwards leaving a trail of kisses and nips in her mouth's wake before she finally reached her real prize.
"Rainbow what are doing?" Twilight moaned as the Pegasus began licking her inner thighs and around her marehood, but never actually licking the place Twilight was desperate to be licked.
"Getting you clean for the party Pinkie is throwing Rarity to celebrate her new winter designs."
"Wh...ahhhh.....What party are you tal...uuhhhh....about?"
"Could you repeat the question please?"
"Rainbow Dash! stop teasing me or you'll be wearing my chastity spell for a month."
"Yes your majesty."
"Keep it up Dashie, and I'll be bringing out the riding crop and bridle."
If there was one thing Rainbow hated more than not being able to cum, it was the riding crop. Immediately she sealed her mouth on Twilight's mound and began thrusting her tongue into the center of her lover's sweet nectar. Rainbow gasped as she felt the sensation of somepony else eating her as well. But she knew Twilight was the only one in the room with her, so that could only mean... Rainbow flicked her tongue over Twilight's clit, and moaned as she felt the same sensations. Twilight had said they would share each other's pleasure's, but Rainbow didn't imagine it would be in this way. This just become twenty percent more awesome. Rainbow began thrusting her tongue faster into Twilight's marehood, feeling the same sensations as though she was eating herself.
"Dashie, not so fast....I'm going to..." The rest of Twilight's sentence was cut of by a loud gasp as she held the back of Rainbow's head thrusting herself more deeply into the pegasus' mouth as she began cumming. Rainbow tried to swallow as much of her lover's sweet juice as possible, but she was too busy moaning as she felt herself cum at the same time. As the last waves of pleasure left them they both fell back to the bed basking in their after glow. "I'm thinking a shower would be more productive, don't you?"
------------
Once the two lovers had cleaned themselves up and Twilight had placed the sheets in the wash to be cleaned later, they made their way over to Rarity's boutique and Twilight felt a little self conscious as ponies stopped and stared at her.
"You'd think they've never seen anything out of the ordinary." Twilight muttered after one stallion had run into a post as he openly gawped at her.
"Don't worry Twi, they're just amazed at how beautiful you look."
"Maybe I should ask Rarity for some kind of cloak or something to hide my runes."
They stopped outside the unicorn's door and Rainbow gave it a quick. They heard the sound of hoofs approaching the door, and Rainbow kissed Twilight fiercely on the lips letting go just as the door opened.
"Rainbow Twilight how good of you to.....Twilight! What on earth happened to you."
"Nothing happened to me," Twilight muttered, getting tired of everpony asking that question. "It's just some new magic I'm practicing."
"So Rarity," Rainbow said getting the unicorn's attention off Twilight, "you gonna let us in, or are we just going to stand here all day?"
"Of course darling, how rude of me. Please come won't you." Rarity stepped aside holding the door open allowing them to walk inside. Low party music was playing, and the whole place was covered in streamers and balloons. Twilight also noted the table filled with food was as far away from the mannequins wearing Rarity's new range of winter clothes.
"Twilight!" Pinkie screamed dropping the balloons she was carrying before pulling the Alicorn into a tight hug, "it's been so long since I've seen you I've missed you so much and you're all pretty and glowy now how did that happen?"
"Need air." Twilight managed to gasp out.
"Of course you need air you wouldn't be able to breathe without air." Pinkie said obliviously unaware.
"Pinkie pie darling, I think Twilight is saying you're hugging her just a bit too tight."
"Oh sorry." Pinkie said releasing her hold on Twilight, "it's just I've missed you so much!" Thankfully Rainbow pulled the party pony out of hugging range just as Pinkie was about to grab her again.
"Where's Fluttershy?" Twilight asked not seeing the timid pony anywhere.
"Ah think Fluttershy had ta stay home to take care of some sick animals," Applejack said walking over with a plate of food.
"Applejack!" Rarity yelled appalled "I must insist you' to remain inside the white lines I've drawn around the food table. I cannot risk a single stain getting on my clothes!" Applejack rolled her eyes but did as the unicorn asked.
"So Rarity, I was wandering if you have some kind of cloak I can wear to hide my runes."
"Why on earth would you want to hide these beautiful things?' Rarity asked running a hoof enviously over one of the runes, "you look absolutely amazing. I don't suppose if you've got the time you might be able to do me?"
"Hey!" Rainbow said standing in front of Twilight, "back off missy, I'm the only she's doing."
"Rainbow Dash, get your mind out of the gutter, you know very well that's not what I meant."
"Do you have a cloak I can use or not?" Twilight asked impatiently.
"Yes of course darling just wait right here."
"So Twilight, want to check these clothes?" Rainbow asked walking over to the mannequins.
"Ah didn't know you were into fashion Dashie." Applejack teased walking over to them.
"I'm not, I was thinking of buying something for my girlfriend, if that's okay with you."
"Honestly can't you two go a day without bugging each other. It would certainly be a nice change." They both mumbled an apology and the three of them began checking out the clothes. The clothes were beautiful and elegant without being too over the top and one particular mannequin caught Twilight's eye. But before she could study it further, Rarity walked back in carrying several packages.
"As you all know, winter is next week so I've decided to give you all a little something to see you through the cold days ahead." Rarity gave each pony a parcel which contained a blanket and a scarf the same color as the ponies themselves and adorned with their cutie marks. "But I made something more special for my favourite couple." Rarity said handing them a single larger present. Twilight used her magic to pull the paper off and pull out what the items inside.
One was a long scarf cyan blue on one half and violet on the other, Twilight's cutie mark was on the blue side, and Rainbow's on the violet side. The other item was a double blanket also half blue, half violet, with a large depiction of their cuties marks in the opposite color.
"Rarity, they're amazing. Thank you so much."
"It's quite alright darling. I took a chance with the designs, but I think it sends a clear message you two belong to each other. Here let me help you with that." Rarity took the scarf from Twilight who had somehow managed to tangle it up, and wrapped the blue end around the Alicorn's neck, and the purple end around Rainbow's neck, pulling them close together. "There perfect. Oh I also got this for you Twilight." Rarity said handing her a black cloak.
"Thank you Rarity," Twilight took the cloak from the unicorn and placed it over her back tying it place around her neck. Some of the runes on her face and hooves still showed, but at least now she wasn't so noticeable. As the part progressed Twilight talked with each of her friends catching up on what had been going on with them for the past week she had recused herself in the library.
"....Then when she opened the present a banana and whipped cream pie hit her in the face!" Pinkie said laughing loudly as she recalled the latest prank she had pulled on Rainbow.
"You forgot to tell her about how I then placed the pie in your bed." Rainbow said joining them.
"Oh, that reminds me about the time I smashed a cupcake in your face."
"What are you talking about Pinkie? You never smashed a cupca..." The pegasus was cut off as Pinkie pulled said desert from her mane and smashed it in Rainbow's face.
"Yes I did, and the expression on your face was priceless." Rainbow growled but before she could retaliate a loud knocking came from the door.
"That's odd, I don't remember inviting anypony else. Unless fluttershy decided to come after all." Rarity answered the door, and it was indeed a pegasus but not the one she was expecting.
"Help you with something, darling?"
"Is Rainbow Dash here? She's needed to help clear the clouds blowing in from the Everfree Forest."
"Rainbow Dash Darling could you come here please? There's sompony here for you."
"Let me guess." Rainbow dash asked the pegasus, "I'm needed to help deal with the clouds blowing in from the Everfree Forest." The Pegasus nodded and Rainbow sighed. "Sorry Rarity to leave like this but duty calls.
"It's quite alright darling, just do be careful, it can get awfully cold out there."
"Twilight I'll be home later on tonight in time for dinner. Have a fire ready for me, and make some soup. I'm probably going to catch a cold."
"I'm coming with you." Twilight said walking up to Rainbow, "I told you I'd help you with containing the clouds and I intend to do just that."
"No offence Twilight, but you don't have any experience in cloud busting, and for this kind of job only fully qualified weather ponies are allowed to help. Plus I need you at the library so I know you're safe, otherwise I'll be concentrating on you rather than the job."
"Fine." Twilight muttered.
"Don't worry babe I'll be back before you know it." Rainbow said flying out the door, towards the Everfree Forest. The air was noticeably colder and already she could see snow falling from the mass of dark clouds ahead. "How soon before it reaches Ponyville." Rainbow asked the Pegaus.
"We're giving it an estimated time of two hours, an hour if the wind changes."
"Well go back to Ponyville and tell everypony to prepare as best they can in case we can't contain it."
The Pegasus saluted and flew back the way she had come. But Rainbow knew they weren't going to be able to contain it no matter how much they tried, but she was determined to give Ponyville as much time as possible to prepare before it was covered in snow. Joining the rest of the pegasus ponies working their hardest to break up the storm, Rainbow flew through the freezing cold clouds as fast as she could, breaking as many as possible with her signature ten seconds move. But her efforts barely put a dent in the huge monster. Shivering in the cold wind and covered in snow, Rainbow flew around telling the other pegasus to concentrate all their efforts on the section closest to Ponyville. But even with all the strength of the pegasus combined in one place the huge snow storm made steady progress towards ponyville.
"We can't contain this Rainbow!" One of the Pegasus screamed over the howling wind.
"Maybe not, but we need to delay it long enough for Ponyville to prepare." Just then the Pegasus she had sent to warn Ponyville returned looking exhausted.
"Is everypony safe?" Rainbow yelled. The pegasus nodded and Rainbow went through her weather team telling them to get back to Cloudsdale. Only after making sure everypony was safe did Rainbow make her own way back to Ponyville. By then the conditions had worsened considerably, and as she flew to her home a stray gust of strong wind slammed into her causing her to spin out of control. And the last thing Rainbow saw was the ground rushing up to meet her, and the last thing she felt was her body breaking before darkness claimed her mind.
---------------------------------------
Inside the library Twilight was pacing with ever increasing worry. It had been almost three hours since the Pegasus had come back to warn everyone to prepare for a blizzard, and since then the conditions had worsened by the minute and there was still no sign of Rainbow Dash. “I’m worried Spike.” Twilight told the dragon sitting in the blazing fire to keep warm, “Rainbow should have been back by now, I think something happened to her.”
“You know how Rainbow is, she won’t stop until she’s tried her absolute hardest to break up the storm.”
“Look outside Spike. You honestly think the weather team are out there now trying to break that storm up, only a fool would be trying such a thing. Plus Rainbow said she would be back this evening. I’m going out to look for her.”
“What? You can’t it’s too dangerous out there you’ll die.”
“Spike Rainbow is still out there hurt or worse, I’m not just going to stay here and do nothing, I’m going to find her.”
“But you’ll freeze to death if go out there.”
“Spike I need you to cover me in dragon flames.” Twilight said looking determined.
“Why Twilight, what are you doing?”
“The Lost Rune is still not charged sufficiently enough for me to survive out there. Your dragon flames will contain enough power for me to activate the phoenix rune. It’s the only chance I have out there.”
“But what if it doesn’t work?”
“Spike! It will work. It has to work. Now just do it!”
Spike took a deep breath and Twilight braced herself as green flames erupted from the dragon’s mouth. The flames enveloped the Alicorn but Instead of the searing heat she was expecting, she only felt a river of icy coldness running through her veins as the runes collected the magic from Spike’s fire and threw it in a constant loop around her body. The green flames died down and Spike was panting as though he had run a marathon.
“Did it work, was it enough.”
“It was plenty Spike, now get some rest.”
Before walking out the door, Twilight focused every ounce of magic the Lost Rune possessed onto the phoenix rune carved into her wings. The rest of the runes on her body gradually stopped glowing, and the phoenix rune grew brighter and brighter, Twilight horn glowed and she opened her natural resource of magic to mix in with the rune as well. When she was ready, she stepped out the door and flew into the massive blizzard releasing the power of the phoenix rune as she flew. Bright flames erupted from her wings and spread to the rest of her body turning her mane and tail into long streams of fire, and her fur bright orange. Twilight flew higher into the air and began flying through the thick snow clouds towards the Everfree Forest.
Seeing no sign of her Rainbow Dash anywhere, Twilight screamed in frustration and dove towards the ground. If Rainbow was in the air then there was no way she would be able to miss the bright flames pouring from the Alicorn, and she would have investigated by now. Which could only mean Rainbow was on the ground either hurt or worse. There! Twilight spotted a blue shimmer on through the expanse of white and flew towards it, desperation lending her speed. It was Rainbow Dash half covered in snow her body twisted in an unnatural way. Despite the flames covering her, Twilight felt numb and cold as ice as she moved closer to her lover’s still body. She extinguished the flames on her front hoofs so she could pull Rainbow’s body from the snow.
The pegasus’s body was covered in blood from the multiple bones sticking out from her skin, and her eyes were open but not seeing anything. Twilight screamed and extinguished the flames so she could hold her lover’s body close to her, not caring if she died out here, at least then she’d be with her Rainbow Dash. Huge sobs racked the Alicorn’s body and her tears turned to ice as they ran down her face.
“I’m so sorry Dashie, I should have been there for you.. You didn’t deserve to die cold and alone.”
Twilight screamed once more, hatred for the world flooding through her body, turning her heart to ice, and her sorrow to anger. Twilight launched herself into the air flames once more covered her body, but she wasn’t using them for protection against the cold, she was using them to destroy the storm that had stolen her lover away from her. Flaming tears fell from her eyes, as she climbed higher and higher only stopping when she had reached the heart of the storm. Screaming in pain and fury Twilight thrust her wings forward sending a massive torrent of flames through the clouds evaporating every cloud within a mile radius.
Twilight continued screaming and sent another massive torrent of flames from her wings. Nothing of this storm was going to survive her fury, including the forest that had formed the storm that had taken her lover away. Twilight began directing the flames, and they began swirling slowly around her forming a sky of fire and fury, with Twilight at its center. No! Destroying the forest would achieve nothing, instead she should be finding a way to bring Rainbow back. Twilight deactivated the phoenix rune and the sky of flames disappeared along with the flames covering her body. She flew back to Rainbow’s body and pulled it close to her.
“I’m going to make you better Dashie, I can still be yours forever.”
Twilight didn’t know how she was going to bring her lover back, only that she had to try. Standing up and moving away from the body, Twilight focused on activating the Lost Rune, and soon all the runes on her body began glowing. Star Swirl’s notes explained that the Lost Rune didn’t form a specific spell, so by focusing hard enough the wearer could get it to do whatever they wanted. And right now all she wanted was her Pegasus back. Taking a deep breath and clearing her mind of all thoughts other than memories of Rainbow Dash alive and well, Twilight opened her natural magic up to the rune and gasped as icy cold power flowed through her body, filling her every fibre and being with power. Twilight placed a hoof on Rainbow’s body and began pouring her magic through her lover’s body.
“Alive and well.” Twilight whispered, “alive and well. Alive and well. Alive and well.”
Even when she had used the last of the power stored within the Lost Rune, Twilight only stopped her mantra when exhaustion claimed her mind and body sending her into a deep sleep.
BEEP........BEEP........BEEP.........BEEP..... The heart monitor attached to Twilight's chest was the only indicator to the four ponies surrounding that their friend was even alive. She had been found three days ago just outside the Everfree forest, laying protectively over Rainbow who was barely alive. Immediately they had been taken to Ponyville general, then sent on to Canterlot hospital when it became apparent the small town hospital wasn't enough to treat their injuries. Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie pie, and Fluttershy had taken the earliest train they could to the hospital and now they were standing around their violet friend's bed.
"Do you think she's okay, she should have woken up by now."
"Applejack darling, that's the fifth time you've asked that question in just as many minutes. And the answer still remains the same. We don't know."
BEEP........BEEP........BEEP........BEEP.....
"I really hope she wakes up soon," Fluttershy said, "we're going to need her help in case the dragon comes back."
"Rai.....ow." The group of ponies stopped talking as Twilight murmured tiredly and shifted onto her side. It was the only sign of life they had seen since Twilight had been bought here.
"It better not come back," Applejack replied angrily, "I almost the entire southern field of because of that fire. How does a dragon have the ability to turn the entire sky over Ponyville into a firestorm anyway? It's completely unnatural."
BEEP......BEEP......BEEP......BEEP...
"Maybe Twilight can tell us more when she wakes up, she out there after all."
"That's if she wakes up." Pinkie said from the corner of the room, "she might become comatose never able to wake up again and then it would be like she's dead because she can't do anything." As Pinkie talked, her mane became flatter and flatter until finally it deflated completely and she broke down crying. Fluttershy pulled the sad party pony into her embrace and began making comforting noises to try and calm her down.
"I'm sure Twilight's going to be just fine, she'll wake up soon and then when Rainbow's better we can all go back home together." Eventually Pinkie settled down but she continued crying with quiet sobs.
BEEP......BEEP......BEEP......BEEP.....
"Please be okay darling," Rarity said brushing a piece of Twilight's mane from her face.
"Rain........bow." Rarity felt her heartbreak just thinking about what it would mean if either of her friend's didn't make it, and she began crying as well not caring whether it caused her makeup to run. Applejack silently sat down beside Rarity and wrapped her in a soft hug.
"Twilight's going to be just fine, you'll see Rares." As though to prove her point Twilight began tossing and turning and turning causing the heart monitor to beep rapidly.
"RAINBOW!" Everypony in the room stopped crying as Twilight's eyes shot open, and she began removing the various medical equipment attached to her body.
"Calm down Twi." Applejack said attenpting to push her back down into bed. Twilight.
"NO. I NEED TO GET RAINBOW, SHE NEEDS ME!!"
"Rainbow's fine," Applejack assured Twilight struggling to keep her in the bed. "A little help Rarity, she's stronger than she looks."
"RAINBOW!" Twilight continued struggling against the earth pony's strength becoming more and more desperate to find her lover. "LET GO I NEED TO FIND RAINBOW."
"Please Twilight, calm down." Rarity implored, her horn glowing as she tried to help Applejack keep the Alicorn in bed. As soon as the magic touched Twilight's body the runes began glowing with electric dark blue light.
A nurse pony ran into the room with two doctors and they began trying to hold Twilight down. "Tranquilizer, now!" One of the doctors said barely able to keep the Alicorn down.
"I SAID LET GO!" Twilight screamed, placing a hoof on each of the doctor's chest. Blue lightning flashed through her hooves and the stallions were launched across the room. "RAINBOW!" Twilight ran out of the room shoving Applejack out of the way as the earth pony attempted to grab her. Twilight needed to find her Pegasus, needed to see her alive and well and hold her warm body against her own. "Where is Rainbow Dash?" Twilight demanded the reception pony."
"Fifth floor operating theatre."
Without even a thankyou, Twilight ran to the window and jumped through it not caring about the tiny shards of glass that lacerated her body. She only cared about finding her Rainbow Dash and making sure she was okay. Thankfully the window of the fifth was open and Twilight flew through it landing in the hallway. The door to the operating theatre turned to ash under her magic, and Twilight ran into the room pulling the doctors and nurses out of the way before coming to a stop beside Rainbow's heavily bandaged body.
"It's going to be okay Dashie. Everything's going to be okay." Ever since Twilight had heard the words operating theatre, she had been pulling magic from the healing rune carved on her chest and gathering it into her mouth. Being careful not to move the Pegasus too much, Twilight softly kissed her lover on the lips slipping her tongue into Rainbow's mouth. The healing magic flowed past Rainbow's mouth and into her body, where it began making her broken and fractured bones whole once more, before stitching the torn muscles and tendons back together. When she was done, Twilight felt something stick into her leg as one of the doctors injected her with tranquilizer. She suddenly felt dizzy and light headed, her legs felt like jelly, and the room slowly began turning into one solid color.
An Alicorn walked slowly through the streets of Ponyville, but unlike other stallions his physique was more that of a mare, lean and graceful and he was barely larger than Twilight. Yet as he walked through Ponyville everypony backed away fearfully as the air around them became colder than ice, and the light seemed to grew dimmer as the shadows grew darker and more deeper. The Alicorn walked with a predatory, and a deafening silence. His fur and wings were jet black, as was his mane and tail expect for a dark blue streak. His eyes glowed with electric blue light, and the cutie mark that adorned his flanks were that of a skull with blue flames burning out of its eyes and mouth. The Alicorn's horn glowed with an electric blue aura and the shadows began rising flooding the streets with darkness.
Twilight awoke with a gasp and blinked in the bright hospital light, the dream escaping from her memory becoming nothing more than a vague recollection of sketchy images, and muted emotions. "Glad to see you're back."
"RAINBOW!" All tiredness left the Alicorn's body as she grabbed her soulmate in a tight hug kissing her more passionately then she could remember. "I though I lost you Dashie," Twilight said tears falling from her eyes a she remembered holding her lover's dead body in the snow. Twilight held Rainbow more tightly taking comfort from her warmth, and the sound of her heart. "Please don't ever leave me again."
Rainbow didn't get a chance to answer as Twilight pulled her to the bed and began kissing her once more.
"Ahem. Perhaps you could wait until we're no longer present to continue your little affair." The two lovers broke apart as they remembered their four friends were still in the room. All their faces were burning bright red, and Twilight realized their positions were something that should only be done in the privacy of their own room. Rainbow lowered her tail and went to step off the bed.
"No." Twilight said pulling her back into her embrace, "I'm never letting you go again."
"I'll be fine Sparkles." This time Twilight let Rainbow go, but followed her lover out of the bed wrapping a wing around her causing the pegasus to blush deeply. "Come on Twilight." Rainbow whispered shifting uncomfortably, "you know I don't like you doing this in public."
"I said I was never letting you go."
"Twilight I'm so happy you're okay!" Pinkie yelled tackling Twilight to the ground and giving her a massive hug. Rainbow watched with amusement as Twilight went through the same thing she had when she had woken up. Twilight's horn glowed and she teleported from the party pony's grip reappearing beside Rainbow Dash once again draping a wing across her lover.
"Twilight, are you okay." Fluttershy asked. "You seem a little agitated."
"Fluttershy's right sugarcube, you do seem mighty antsy ever since you woke up."
"Twilight do you mind?" Rainbow asked glancing meaningfully at the violet wing draped across her back. Twilight's only response was to protectively pull Rainbow closer to her. The pegasus sighed and tried to walk out of the feathered appendage only to have Twilight's magic keep her where she was.
"I almost lost you Dashie. Can you really blame me for being a bit overprotective?"
"Fine." Rainbow muttered snuggling closer into Twilight's warm embrace.
-----------------------------------------------------
"Four days! I've been out for four days. What happened?" The six ponies were gathered at a local restaurant near Canterlot hospital having an early dinner, while catching up on what had happened since the blizzard.
"Well when the blizzard cleared up," Rarity began explaining, "a team of weather ponies went out to check what was damaged, when they found you both outside almost dead." Rarity shivered as she said that last part, and tears formed in her eyes. "Anyway, you were taken to Canterlot hospital right away, and everything turned out alright."
"Though we've been meaning to ask ya, did ya see a dragon at all when you were out there." Twilight shifted uncomfortably her wing extending searching for her pegasus. Rainbow sighed as Twilight once more draped a wing around her back, it seemed to be a reflex action whenever the Alicorn was bothered with something.
"There wasn't a dragon." Twilight muttered "it was me." Her statement was met with silence and shocked stares, even Pinkie wasn't talking.
"So you're saying you made the fire in the sky?" Twilight nodded and Applejack gave a low whistle. "Why in tarnation would you do such a thing twi? You almost destroyed my entire south field."
"Sorry. But when Rainbow didn't come home when she was supposed I got worried and went out to look for her. But I knew I wouldn't last long in such cold so I had Spike breathe fire onto my phoenix rune and used its powers to cover my body in flames. When I couldn't find Rainbow, I used the flames to destroy the blizzard so I could find her." Twilight wasn't willing to tell the version where she had found Rainbow dead, and then destroyed the blizzard in flaming retribution before bringing her lover back to life. They weren't ready for that yet, and Twilight was still trying to figure it out herself.
"That is so awesome." Rainbow said gazing at Twilight with what could only be described as complete awe. "You did what thirty of the best weather ponies from Cloudsadale couldn't. You stopped the blizzard and saved Ponyville from an early winter. Next time you'll definitely be the first one I come to if another blizzard comes in from the Everfree forest."
"Well if you had come to me in the first place, I could have cleared it up right away. And you wouldn't have di.....crashed and gotten severely injured." If the other ponies caught the hesitation in her sentence, they didn't mention it and Twilight was grateful for that. But she could tell from the glances she was getting from Applejack that the matter wasn't over.
"Well we're just glad everypony's okay, especially you Rainbow Dash darling."
"Thanks Rares, Though if it weren't for Twilight and her new runes, I would still be stuck in that hospital for another six months. Not to mention the years of physical therapy."
"Hello girls." The ponies each bowed as princess Celestia walked up to their table. "Please there's no need for that, I'm just here to see how Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash are doing. Spike sent me a letter explaining everything that had happened these past few days. Right now he's getting your rooms prepared in Canterlot Castle, we have a lot discuss over the next few days." Twilight was about to say something when the princess held p a hoof to stop her. "Everything will be explained tonight at dinner. It's good to see you again my little ponies."
"I don't know about you girls." Rainbow said when the princess left, and ducking out from Twilight's protective wing. "But I can't stand to spend another second in that hospital."
"Rainbow Dash!" Twilight said in a dangerously low tone holding out her wing. Rainbow groaned and obediently tucked herself under her marefriend's wing blushing deeply. When they were alone Rainbow planned to have a very long conversation about appropriate times for displaying such affection.
"I wander what Celestia wants to discuss with us tonight?" Twilight asked.
"Oh gee I don't know." Rainbow said sarcastically, "you only spent almost a week studying runes, then carving them into your body, before destroying an entire blizzard by turning the entire sky above Ponyville into a flaming ball of fire. I couldn't guess what the princess wants to talk about."
"No one likes sarcasm, Dashie."
"What's for dessert?" Pinkie asked shoving yet another empty plate away from her. "Isiticecreamcaramelappleshotcholate."
"Um Pinkie, don't you think you've had enough to eat?" Fluttershy asked timidly.
"Of course not!" Pinkie yelled jumping onto the table and shoving her face into Fluttershy's. "You can never have enough to eat especially if there's dessert involved!"
"Pinkie Pie, darling. Would you be so kind as to watch where you're putting your tail. I'd rather not get a mouthful of hair every time I take a sip of my drink."
"Sorry Rares." Pinkie muttered sitting back down.
"Don't worry Pinkie," Twilight said, "Princess Celestia usually has a lot of food prepared when entertaining guests. You might want to save some room for then."
"Anyway," Rainbow said, "with the permission of my girlfriend I'm going to go check out some of the shops. Of course I'll need a full Kevlar body suit in case I chip a hoof or kink a feather."
"I'm sorry Rainbow," Twilight muttered removing her wing, and moving further away. For a moment Rainbow felt a twinge of guilt as a tear formed in Twilight's eye, and she sniffled rubbing a hoof across her nose. Rainbow sighed and pulled Twilight's wing across her back and nuzzled the Alicorn's cheek.
"Turns out Kevlar body suits aren't really that comfortable."
"Awww...that was absolutely adorable." Rarity sighed looking like she was about to swoon. "I just wish I had my own very special somepony." Twilight stood and stretched out yawning.
"Well we better get going if we want to do some shopping before Celestia's dinner."
----------------------------------------------
"Twenty bits!" Rainbow yelled placing a bag of bits on the counter.
"Forty bits!" The pony behind the counter yelled back pushing the bad away.
"Twenty five bits!"
"Thirty bits!"
"Done!" Rainbow said placing ten more bits on the counter, and placing her purchase in her saddlebags. Rainbow walked out of the jewellery and found Twilight at the book arcade searching through the fictional section. "Hey egghead!" Rainbow said slipping back under Twilight's wing. "Find anything interesting?" To Rainbow's relief Twilight folded her wing back but still remained close to her.
"Yes I have actually." Twilight levitated a book from her shopping bags and held it in front of her lover.
"One hundred and one positions and techniques to make your love life more interesting." Rainbow read aloud her cheeks flaming red. Twilight blushed as well placing the book back in her bag.
"I figured we might try some of these things, seeing as you don't like the same boring routines. The book actually describes some pretty interesting things."
"Could be cool. I say we get it."
"Great!" Twilight said levitating more books from the shelf, and taking them to the counter.
"What are those?" Rainbow asked following her girlfriend to the front of the store.
"Oh I've found a new adventure series I think you'll like. I also got the recent releases of Daring Do, and placed an a order for some new cook books. Rainbow, I'm sorry if I embarrassed you before with the whole wing thing, I wasn't exactly thinking right."
"Heh. It's all good. Just as long as you're happy I don't mind." Twilight paid for the books and they went outside where Rarity was waiting levitating several bags of material and other sewing supplies.
"Wow Rarity, what are you planning on doing with all that material?"
"Twilight dear, if we're going to be staying here for the next few days I'm going to need something to keep me busy. Besides, I need to be ready in case I find some amazing inspiration."
"Hey check it out!" Rainbow said pointing to the sky. Twilight looked up, and immediately her eyes and runes began glowing with dark blue light, and flames began flickering along her wings.
Pegasus ponies were placing dark snow clouds in the sky and white snow flakes were already falling to the ground, bringing with them memories of Rainbow's death. "You okay babe?" Rainbow asked. Twilight blinked a few times, and rubbed her head groaning in pain.
"What just happened? And why are my runes activated?" Rainbow stepped in front of her marefriend.
"Maybe we should find the others and head over to the castle. We don't want to get caught in the snow."
"Indeed..." Twilight said walking away muttering incoherent things to herself. Rainbow and Rarity exchanged a puzzled look and followed after the Alicorn.
"Twilight darling, are you feeling okay? You're acting a bit....off."
"Oh, hello Rarity what are you doing here? I thought you were off buying material." Rarity frowned and gestured to her floating bags of sewing products.
"I just finished, remember darling?"
"Huh. So you did. We should probably get them back to your boutique before it starts raining." Rarity glanced at Rainbow who just shrugged at her girlfriend's odd behaviour.
"Twilight, Rarity's boutique is back in Ponyville. We're in Canterlot." Twilight stared blankly at Rainbow for a moment as though she couldn't quite place her.
"That's beside the point, we need to get to the castle, or we'll be late for my coronation."
"WHA......!!!!" Both Rainbow and Rarity said at the same time.
"Twilight darling, you've already had your coronation, it was just last year. Are you sure you're feeling alright?"
"Of course I'm feeling alright, in fact I'm feeling great. I just scored a date with Dashie." Twilight Squeed and began trotting happily towards the castle.
"I'm going to see if I can get anything that makes sense out of her." Rainbow said flying after Twilight, and landing in front of her.
"Oh hello Dashie. Did you get all your shopping done? We don't want to be late for Princess Celestia's dinner."
"So you're back to normal now?"
"What are you Talking about Rainbow Dash. Of course I'm normal."
"Really because just a few seconds ago you weren't making any sense whatsoever. You even thought you were on your way to your coronation." Twilight rolled her eyes and began walking to the Canterlot Castle
"Don't be silly Dashie. My coronation was last year."
*****************************************************
"TWILIGHT YOU'RE OKAY!!!!" Twilight braced herself as the purple baby dragon raced across the room and tackled her in a massive hug. "I wanted to stay with you at the hospital, but seeing you just laying there not moving....." Spike's voice broke and he held Twilight closer. "So I decided to fix up the old room you used to stay in when you were a filly."
"Oh Spike." Twilight whispered nuzzling her baby dragon. "You've always been my number one assistant."
"Wow Spike!" Rainbow said looking around the room, "you did an amazingly awesome job with the room."
"Thanks Rainbow. I also bought yours and Twi's luggage with me, and used the blanket Rarity made you to make the bed." Twilight stood and dusted herself off before grabbing Spike in a hug nuzzling him again.
"And that's why you're always my number one assistant." Spike yawned loudly before falling limp in Twilight's embrace and snoring loudly. "Oh Spike, as always you're an amazingly hard worker." Twilight placed the sleeping reptile on the bed and with one last nuzzle went to unpack their luggage.
"So Sparkles," Rainbow said walking slowly up to her girlfriend, "want to do some studying together." Twilight looked up from her task and her wings -POMFED- open when she saw the book Rainbow wanted to study with her. "Then I wouldn't mind doing a few tests afterwards."
"Hmmm....Does Dashie want to learn something new?" Twilight said, seductively stalking towards the pegasus. Rainbow backed away as Twilight's body became language became more assertive, and her grin more mischievous. "Looks like Dashie is an egghead after all. And what does Dashie want to study from the book?"
"I was thinking we flipped to a random page and went from there." Twilight continued walking forward until she stood over her lover.
"Sounds good to me." Twilight said tracing the tip of her wing across Rainbow's body.
"Just one thing," Rainbow said wrapping her forelegs around Twilight's body before reversing their positions, "you were on top last time, my turn now." Twilight considered mutiny for a moment, after all if anyone should be doing any teaching it should be her. But that would be breaking their rules, and the promises they had made to each other.
"What does mistress Dash want?" Twilight asked. Before Rainbow could answer, hoofsteps sounded out the door and the two lovers broke apart before their five friends walked in with Princess Luna.
"You may leave us." Luna instructed.
"But..."Applejack began.
"What I have to say to Princess Twilight Sparkle, is for the ears of royalty only. If Princess Twilight Sparkle deems fit to tell you this information then you will be told. NOW LEAVE!" Luna's eyes flashed white and she stamped her hooves on the flagstones causing them to crack. All the ponies ran out of the room, expect for Rainbow Dash who stood protectively in front of Twilight. "I SAID LEAVE!!!" Luna's horn glowed and Rainbow was teleported out of the room, Luna slammed the door shut and rounded angrily on Twilight. "HOW COULD YOU BE SO FOOLISH. YOU WERE ONLY SUPPOSED TO STUDY THE LOST RUNE AND REPORT YOUR FINDINGS TO CELESTIA. YOU HAVE NO IDEA THE DANGER YOU HAVE PUT YOURSELF AND THE WHOLE OF EQUESTRIA IN. THE LOST RUNE IS THE MOST POWERFUL AND DARKEST OF ALL MAGIC, IT CORRUPTS ITS HOST'S SOUL UNTIL THEY ARE COMPLETELY LOST TO DARKNESS!!!!!"
"Princess Luna please....."
"SILENCE!!!" A huge wave of magic rushed towards Twilight grabbing her in its power immobilizing her limbs and stealing her voice, before wrapping around her horn neutralizing her magic. "YOU DO NOT TALK UNTIL I TELL YOU TO!!" Twilight's runes began glowing absorbing Luna's magic and making her spell useless, and she sagged in relief at having use of her body back. Twilight snarled, electric dark blue energy crackling around her body, as she rose into the air without the assistance of her wings. Runes began forming in the air behind her......
"Twilight! Luna! Enough!" They both turned as Celestia walked into the room looking disappointed.
"Forgive me sister. Forgive me Twilight." Luna said bowing her head, "I did not mean to lose my temper like this." Twilight lowered herself to the ground rubbing her throbbing head as her runes stopped glowing.
"Oh hello Princess Celestia, Princess Luna. What can I help you with?"
"We just came to tell you dinner will be served shortly."
"Well thankyou for that, I'll be sure to have the girls there in time."
"Thankyou Twilight, we'll let you get back to your unpacking." Twilight bowed as the two sisters walked out of the room and found Spike hiding underneath the bed.
"What are you doing underneath there Spike?" Twilight asked pulling him out of from the bed, "we need to start unpacking."
"Everything okay?" Rainbow asked walking into the room, with rest of her friends.
"Of course Rainbow, why wouldn't everything be okay? I'm in Canterlot with my new friends, and we're about to have dinner with Princess..... WHAT IN CELESTIA'S NAME! IS THIS SOME KIND OF JOKE RAINBOW DASH??!! Twilight pulled the blanket off the bed and held it in front of Rainbow's face.
"Uhh....That's the blanket Rarity made us for winter, remember."
"Why would she do something like that for?" For the first time in her life Rainbow was completely speechless. Twilight had forgotten they were special someponies.
"Twilight dear, I wanted to do something special for you and Rainbow so you could be closer during the winter."
"Awww...Rarity that is so sweet of you, I'm sure Rainbow's going to love it."
"What in the hoof is going on here." Applejack demanded, "you're acting crazier than Pinkie Pie. How could you forget you and Rainbow are special someponies?"
"Applejack! How could you say something like that? I would never forget that Dashie is my special somepony."
"Maybe we should get to dinner before...."
"Dinner?" Twilight interrupted, "I haven't even had breakfast yet. How could it be...." Twilight stopped talking when she noticed it was almost dark outside. "Huh....weird." Twilight muttered walking out the door.
"We really need to find out what's going on with my girlfriend." Rainbow said once Twilight was out of earshot.
"Maybe she's just tired," Fluttershy suggested, "she has been through a lot these past few days." '
"Ah think whatever's happening to our Twi, has something to do with those runes she carved into herself." The five friends walked after the Alicorn and found her in the hallway staring out one of the windows rubbing her chin thoughtfully.
"Girls I've figured it out!" Twilight said jumping in the middle of the group. "The Elements of Harmony are back in Ponyville. Now we can finally stop Discord."
"Uhh...Twilight....Discord is...reformed...remember?"
"What are you talking about Fluttershy? Of course Discord is reformed, we wouldn't be letting him run around if he wasn't. Now come on, we don't want to be late for dinner." Feeling more confused than ever the five ponies followed Twilight to the dining hall where several plates of large food were set up for them.
"Hello my little ponies." Celestia greeted. "We have a lot to discuss. But first let's eat."
"Umm...Princess Celestia?"
"Yes Rainbow Dash."
"It's just there's something weird going on with Twilight. It's like her mind's in a dozen different places at once, she even forgot we were special someponi... " Rainbow's voice broke and a tear rolled down her cheek.
"What are you talking about Dashie? I would never forget that." Just then Luna teleported into the room.
"There's a lot of things we need to tell you, it's best we get started right away." The ponies took a seat at the table and they began placing food onto their plates.
"First of all," Applejack began, "what the hay is going on with Twilight, ever since she put those runes on herself she's been acting strange."
"It's perfectly normal for this kind of magic," Celestia explained, "Twilight will experience bouts of memory loss, and sometimes she won't remember where she is or what she is doing. It is simply the effects of the runes adjusting themselves to her mind and body, I assure you the effects won't be permanent, and in a day or two she'll be completely back to normal."
"So Rainbow," Twilight said, nervously tapping her hoofs together, "I was wandering maybe...you'd...consider...going to dinner with me sometime next week?" Everypony at the table paused with a piece of food halfway to their mouths and stared at Twilight, who shrunk down in her seat until her eyes were the only thing above the table. "I realize it's a bit unusual because we're both mares, but I want to give it a shot with you Rainbow." Celestia leaned down to whisper in Rainbow's ear.
"It's best if you go along with whatever she says, it'll be easier on her." Rainbow nodded and rubbed the back of her mane nervously. This was going to be so awkward.
"I wouldn't mind going to dinner with you, but only if we catch a movie first." Twilight's ears perked up and she rose a little higher in her seat.
"Really?"
"Of course, I've actually had a bit of a crush on you for a while now. I just didn't know how to tell you." Rainbow's cheeks flamed to life and she looked away from the Alicorn.
"Was this how the two of got together?" Rarity asked.
"Yeah...."Rainbow sighed. "That was the best night of my life."
"Aww....Dashie that is so sweet of you say. But I always thought the first night we spent together at your house was the best night of your life."
"It came close, but our first date will always be the best night of my life. Without that night we'd never have become special someponies" Celestia’s horn glowed and their dinner disappeared to be replaced with delicious looking desserts.
“It is time now to discuss more serious matters. I’ve had reports coming in that a blizzard from the Everfree forest was destroyed by a dragon saving the town from a early winter. But now looking at you Twilight, I can surmise that you used the phoenix rune to destroy the blizzard.” Twilight shifted uncomfortably and teleported to the other side of the table so she could sit beside her lover.
“When Rainbow didn’t come back with the other weather ponies I knew she was in trouble, so I had Spike breath as much dragon fire on me as possible to charge the phoenix rune so I wouldn’t die when looking for Rainbow. I found her badly hurt half buried in the snow, I thought she was dead so I used the phoenix rune to destroy the blizzard. I must have used too much energy because I woke up in the hospital without remembering how I got there.”
“The thing that concerns us Twilight Sparkle.” Luna said pushing away her plate of untouched desert, “is the amount of extreme power you were able to use. That kind of level should have only been accessible after a few weeks, but you were able to reach it in a matter of hours. Even Star Swirl the Bearded couldn’t have done that.”
“Wait a minute, Star Swirl never mentioned any of this in his notes. He also didn’t mention the Lost Rune being dark magic, if he had I never would have placed it upon myself.” Celestia rose from her chair and walked out of the room returning with a chest held in her magical grasp.
“We only sent you the information you would need to use in order to study it. There’s a lot more you don’t know about the Rune’s power, and the only reason we’re telling you this now is because you need to know what you’re up against.”
“Ah have a question,” Applejack said, “if this rune is as dangerous as you’re making it out to be, why in hell would you let her study it in the first place. Surely you knew she would see if it actually worked
“I only gave her the instructions to study the rune, and I expected her to do only just that.”
“Uh-huh. And did you specify that she wasn’t to try and use it? Because unless you do of course she’s going to try and create it herself, that’s who she is.” Celestia held up a hoof to stop any further conversation and opened the chest. She pulled several scrolls from it, and a thin book.
“When Star Swirl the Bearded realized just how dangerous the Lost Rune was, he created a way to separate its powers from the runes carved on his body into an inanimate object, he called this process inhibiting. While he wasn’t wearing the object the Lost Rune was powerless, but the more he wore the object the harder he found it to let go. Eventually he realized he was becoming addicted to its power so he hid everything he had ever wrote in a chest away from the rest of the world.” Twilight frowned thoughtfully.
“But why did he create the rune in the first place, he was already the most powerful being in his era.” Celestia placed several scrolls back into the chest and after removing several pages from the book she placed that with the scrolls and handed the chest to Twilight.
“That Twilight, is something I cannot tell you now. The answers you seek are in that chest and can only be known by you, and you cannot tell another living soul what you are about to discover, that is an order, and one you cannot disobey. You may start your studies tonight.”
“Great.” Rainbow muttered. “Now we’ll never get to study that new book.” Twilight smiled and gave gave Rainbow a quick nuzzle before whispering in her ear.
“Don’t worry Dashie, I’ll make time for my little egghead.” Rainbow rolled her eyes, then sighed contently as Twilight began running a her hoof softly through her feathers. Rainbow opened her wings slightly so Twilight could rub her wing joints and practically drooled when her lover willing obliged. Celestia cleared her throat getting the ponies attention once more.
“Now then as I’m sure you’re all aware the Equestrian Games are coming up in a week’s time, and Ponyville has been chosen to host them.”
“WHAT!” The group of friends said simultaneously.
“But how is Ponyville going to host such a large event?” Twilight asked.
“These games are going to be slightly different than what you’re used to. At the end of every decade the Equestrian Games hosts a dangerous and deadly competition, this competition is only open to the more powerful unicorns and Alicorns. It involves going into Tartarus and finding certain artifacts. I have tried to disband this, but unfortunately it has been set in the rules when the games were created, so I cannot. But it is of utmost importance that one particular artifact is found by you Twilight. It cannot fall into the wrong hoofs, or Equestria will be in grave danger.” Twilight stopped messaging Rainbow’s wings and looked over at the princess.
“So you want me to enter into this competition, go into Tartarus where Equestria’s most evil dark creatures live, and find this artifact, my I ask what this artifact is?” This time it was Luna who spoke.
“It is a jewel that can be used to open portals to different worlds and dimensions, with it a pony can bring creatures from other worlds into Equestria.” For some reason Twilight felt dissatisfied with their answer. They were asking her to put so much on the line by entering the Dark Realm, when they were just as capable of entering it themselves and collecting the Dimension Gem.
“We would do it ourselves,” Celestia said as though reading her mind. “But the rules prohibit the judges from participating in the games, and the artifacts can only be collected during the Equestrian Games.”
“And why are you just telling me this now? A week is barely enough time for me to prepare for such a task!”
“We have faith in you Twilight.” Once more Twilight was dissatisfied by their answers. It was all well and good to have faith in her, but faith wasn’t enough to make her succeed. She needed time to learn proper combat spells, not to mention proper defence spells, and the princesses had only given her a week. Trying to keep her annoyance from surfacing, Twilight calmly stood up picking the chest up in her magical grasp, before pulling Rainbow from her chair.
“Twilight what are you doing? I haven’t even finished my dessert.” In response Twilight enveloped the pegasus in her magic and pulled her close, before smashing her lips on Rainbow’s and shoving her tongue in her mouth. Twilight’s wings shot up in a loud POMF and she grasped the back of Rainbow’s head pulling her closer so she could kiss her more deeply. She ignored the collective gasps from the other ponies in the room and kissed her lover a few more seconds before pulling back and running her hoof through Rainbow’s mane.
“Don’t worry Dashie you’ve got all night to have me for dessert.” Twilight turned to the ponies at the table. “I would appreciate it if I wasn’t disturbed until tomorrow morning, as I will be too busy being bucked.” Leaving her friends and the princesses with their jaws still on the floor Twilight turned away and led Rainbow back to their room.
“What the hay was that back there?” Rainbow asked once Twilight had closed the door to their room. “You’ve never Spoken like that, or kissed me in public before!” Twilight sighed and made her way over to the bed straightening the sheets with her magic.
“I was frustrated and angry, and wanted to scream at the princesses for doing this to me. I mean come on, only giving me one week’s notice to prepare for going into the most dangerous place know to pony kind, where the most ancient and evil creatures are imprisoned from the rest of the world.” Rainbow sighed and pulled Twilight into a soft but sincere hug.
“I’ve learned long ago that there’s no stopping you from doing something once you’ve put your mind to it, so even though I really want to tell you not to do this I know you will anyway. So just promise me you’ll come back to me alive and well.”
“I promise Dashie.” Rainbow smiled and ran a hoof through Twilight’s mane.
“I do believe you promised me some dessert. I think creamed egghead will suffice.” Twilight’s horn glowed and she levitated a thick leather belt to herself.
“I was thinking we tried something a little more different, and definitely more exciting this time.” As Twilight spoke she placed the belt over her back and cinched snugly over her wings so they couldn’t open. Next she opened the balcony doors and stepped outside. “I trust you Dashie. I trust you with my life.” Before Rainbow could even blink Twilight flung herself over the railing and into the long drop below. Rainbow hesitated a heartbeat that seemed to take an eternity, she couldn’t believe what she had just seen. Twilight had immobilized her wings and thrown herself over a seventy foot drop balcony with no means of rescuing herself, the Alicorn was crazy! When Rainbow’s mind recovered from her shock, she realized she was falling after Twilight beating her wings faster and faster with everything she had short of a sonic rainboom. Rainbow caught her lover, and Twilight tightly against her body, before shooting back into the air and landing on the first cloud she found.
“Are you crazy! You could gotten yourself killed, what if I couldn’t have caught yo.....MMPH!” The pegasus was cut off as Twilight kissed her, and she moaned when Twilight traced a hoof down her back stopping just beneath her tail.
“I had no doubt in my mind you wouldn’t have caught me Dashie. Just as I have no doubt in my mind you won’t let me go.” Twilight wrapped her forelegs around Rainbow’s neck before stepping off of the cloud taking both of them into the nothingness below. Rainbow’s wings flared and she began gliding through the night air holding Twilight’s body as tight as she could, not willing to take the chance of her lover falling again. Twilight gave Rainbow a small smile before kissing her pegasus, and running a hoof delicately down Rainbow's stomach to the fun spot under her tail which she began messaging with delicate care. Rainbow gasped in both surprise and pleasure and her mind went completely blank as her entire body and soul was filled with electric tingles.
“Rainbow my love?” Twilight whispered, softly nuzzling her cheek.
“Y-yeah babe?” Twilight began drawing little circles around Rainbow’s nose with her own occasionally licking bits of frosting from the corner of Rainbow’s mouth.
“You might want to concentrate on flapping your wings.” Rainbow’s eyes shot open as she realized her wings were in fact not flapping and they were falling faster and faster to the ground. Rainbow once more flared her wings and shot upwards into the air. Twilight placed her lips on Rainbow's and slipped her tongue into her lover's mouth, moaning as she tasted the sweetness of what Rainbow had for dessert. "I love you Dashie." Twilight murmured between breaths.
"I love you too Sparkles." Twilight nuzzled Rainbow's cheek, and began moving her hoof in faster circular motions, causing the pegasus to moan louder. "Might want to ease up babe.....Uhhhhh!......Can't.....Guhhhh!.....Can't....Ahhhhh!....concentrate...don't stop!....on.......flying."
"Don't worry Dashie, you just flap your wings, I'll take care of the rest." Twilight' rune of pleasure starting glowing with dark blue light, and she felt its power tingling through her body towards her hoof and into Rainbow's marehood. They both gasped loudly as they felt each other's pleasure as their own, and Twilight began rubbing Rainbow faster clamping her lips on Rainbow's to muffle their moans. Rainbow's juices began flowing over her hoof and she bought it up to her mouth to lick it clean. "You taste delicious Dashie. See?" Twilight run her hoof across her lover's mouth, smearing cum across Rainbow's lips causing her to blush deeply. "You look so cute when you blush." Twilight whispered kissing Rainbow once more. This time Rainbow slipped her tongue into Twilight's mouth to get as much of her flavor as possible.
"Heh...You were right Sparkles, I do taste pretty good. But not as good as you." Rainbow released her grip on Twilight long enough to reverse her position so Twilight was now hanging upside down, her wet marehood glistening only centimeters from her mouth.
"Rainbow! Bring me back up right n....Uhhhh!" Twilight was cut of with her moan as Rainbow ran her tongue over her sensitive spot, before slipping it deeply into her marehood. The two lovers both moaned loudly as they both felt Rainbow's tongue in their marehoods flicking back and forth.Twilight’s horn glowed and in a violet flash they were lying on a cloud in the sixty nine position. Rainbow didn't seem to bothered with this and continued eating her out, flicking her tail to one side and spreading her back legs so Twilight could return the favor. An idea formed in Twilight's mind, and the Alicorn grinned mischievously as her horn glowed forming a large ball of egg shaped magic. Twilight levitated the magical egg to Rainbow's pleasure and she made it vibrate, before delicately pushing it into her marehood. Twilight gasped as she felt the same sensation of the egg vibrating violently inside her, and had to stuff her whole tongue into Rainbow’s marehood to stop herself from screaming. But even with their tongues in each other's plots, Twilight was sure they were going to wake up the entire city of Canterlot. Her rune of pleasure began glowing brighter, and the magical egg vibrated faster and faster causing Twilight to scream louder than she ever had before, and it was only a matter of seconds before she began cumming so hard she squirted streams of her juice into Rainbow’s face, completely soaking the Pegasus. Without anything occupying her now empty mouth Rainbow's moans were becoming louder and louder, so Twilight’s horn glowed forming a ball gag out of magic which she cinched snugly in Rainbow’s mouth, so her lover could only make tiny whimpering sounds. A few more seconds later and Rainbow’s moans became louder as she flooded Twilight’s mouth with her juices, and try as she might Twilight couldn’t swallow it all and she felt her entire face and chest become saturated with her lover’s juices. They both laid down completely exhausted their muscles occasionally twitching with the aftershock. “Enjoy your dessert Dashie?”
MMPH!” Twilight looked over at Rainbow who was glaring at her and pointing to the magical ball gag in her mouth. Twilight smirked and began licking Rainbow’s face collecting her juices, which had an odd floral taste not unlike Dashie’s. “MMPH!”
“Be patient Dashie, we can’t have you walking around with my cum all over your face. Now can we?”
“MMPH!” Twilight ignored Rainbow’s insistent begging to have the ball gag removed and continued cleaning her juices off Rainbow's face, occasionally licking Rainbow's mouth to collect the salvia dripping onto her chin. Several minutes later Twilight sat back and observed a job well done, giving Rainbow a pat on the head.
"There, all done Dashie. That wasn't so bad was it?"
“MMPH!” Once again the Pegasus pointed to the ball gag in her mouth. Twilight's horn glowed as she released Rainbow from the magic ball gag, and Rainbow began rubbing her jaw.
"Bout time, seriously Twi, those things are really uncomfortable." Twilight laid down on her back before pulling Rainbow on top of her.
"Well you can stretch out your mouth by cleaning me up."
"One creamed egghead for dessert coming up!" Rainbow said before running her tongue over Twilight's chest making her way to the egghead's face. Twilight sighed contently finding Dashie's licking oddly relaxing, especially when the pegasus began on her face. Rainbow finished off with a soft kiss on Twilight's lips, and the Alicorn draped a wing over Rainbow as small flakes of snow began falling signaling the first day of winter.
"We should probably head back tot he castle." Twilight murmured shifting uncomfortably as the snow began falling faster. Rainbow gave Twilight a comforting nuzzle, before giving her ear a soft nibble.
"What's the matter babe? You used to love watching snow fall with me." Twilight closed her eyes enjoying the sensation of Rainbow nibbling her ear.
"That was before I almost lost you to the snow. I just don't want that to happen again."
"Don't worry babe. Canterlot weather is strictly controlled so no freak weather accidents can harm any of its citizens. It was just bad luck and poor planning that led to the blizzard coming in from the Everfree forest." Twilight pulled Rainbow closer with her wing and snuggled into her marefriends warmth.
"I know Dashie, I just have this irrational fear of losing you. Every time I close my eyes see you laying so still and pale....not moving or breathing. I just don't want that to happen again. I can't lose you Dashie. You're my everything!" A tear ran down Twilight's cheek and she held her lover more tightly than she ever had before. Rainbow wiped Twilight's cheek before giving her a soft kiss.
"Don't worry Sparkles, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." Twilight returned the kiss.
"Promise?"
"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." Twilight smiled and she felt a bit more relaxed. However the feeling was short lived as a massive explosion broke the night's calm silence, and the night was turned bright as day as a massive ring of electric blue flames flashed across the sky and a spiraling vortex of the same blue flames began forming over the Everfree forest. "What the hay is that?" Rainbow asked standing up, and pointing to the sunlike vortex of flames.
"I don't know. But it can't be good, we need to warn Celestia and Luna and get the Elements of Harmony." Twilight flew off the cloud and began flying as fast as she could towards the castle. "I'm going to warn the Princesses, you get the girls and I'll meet you with the Elements." Rainbow saluted and flew towards their friends rooms. Twilight changed direction and flew straight into Luna's personal quarters, only to find it unoccupied. Celestia's room next door was the same. Twilight's horn glowed and she appeared in the dining room where the two princesses were busy talking about the kingdom's affairs, they stopped at Twilight's sudden appearance. "Something's wrong. I think Equestria is under attack."
"What are you talking about Twilight?" Celestia asked. Twilight's horn glowed and she opened the curtains revealing the flaming vortex outside. "Darklight! Quickly Luna, we must prepare at once. Twilight get the Elements of Harmony you must use them to stop this!" Twilight nodded and her runes began glowing as she teleported back to her library in Ponyville. She was briefly surprised she wasn't even tired from teleporting such a long distance, but put such thoughts away for later study. Twilight walked over to the glass case containing the Elements of Harmony and opened it pulling the Elements out before teleporting back to Canterlot where the Princesses and her friends were waiting back in the dining hall.
"What in tarnation is goin' on here Twilight!"
"No time to explain Applejack, right now we need to hurry." Twilight placed the crown on her head and gave each of her friends their respective element.
"Good luck my little ponies. Sadly we I cannot join you as Luna and I must remain in Canterlot and strengthen its defenses. But I have no doubt you can do this."
"Thankyou Princess." Twilight said before her horn glowed and she teleported herself and her friends back to Ponyville just outside the Everfree forest.
"I don't think I can do this?" Fluttershy said her legs shaking from fear as she watched the vortex. Rarity placed a comforting hoof on the timid pony's back.
"Don't worry darling, we won't let anything happen to you."
"But if we want to keep Equestria safe we need you with us." Rainbow said. Pinkie Pie bounced happily up to Fluttershy.
"Do you want me to sing a song about not being scared of big scary evil looking vortexes?"
"We don't have time for that." Twilight said and began walking into the forest. Fluttershy gulped and went to stand up, only to fall back down and hide behind her wings as a blood curdling scream echoed through the forest.
"You just go on ahead I'll catch up with you later." Rainbow sighed and laid down next to Fluttershy draping a protective wing over her friend like she had so many times when they had been in flight school, and she needed a safe place to cry after being bullied over her lack of flight skills.
"Want to know a secret?" Rainbow whispered only loud enough for Fluttershy to hear. Fluttershy nodded, and Rainbow took a deep breath. "I'm scared too."
"R-really?" Rainbow nodded.
"Of course, I don't know what's going on here, I don't know what we're facing, but I do know we need to face it together. So that means we need you to help us use the Elements with us, without you we can't use them. So I'm asking you to please be brave and come with us." Fluttershy gulped once more and rose on shaky legs. "There you go Fluttershy. Now you just need to place one hoof in front of the other, and remember I'll be there for you every step of the way."
"Umm....C-could...I...stay under your....wing?" Rainbow smiled and gave her friend a comforting nuzzle.
"Of course Flutters."
"Ready?" Twilight asked once they stood up.
"All good Sparkles. Let's go." Twilight gave Rainbow a thoughtful look before turning and walking into the Everfree forest. Another blood curdling scream pierced the night causing Fluttershy to scream and hug Rainbow tightly, scrunching her eyes closed. "I've got you, Flutters. Nothing's going to hurt you." Fluttershy whimpered and slowly released her grip on Rainbow until she was back on her legs. A violet wing joined the cyan one in comforting Fluttershy.
"Rainbow's right Fluttershy, we're not going to let anything happen to you no matter what." Fluttershy looked at both their faces and saw their earnest sincerity in what they were saying. Taking a few deep breaths Fluttershy began walking forward once more. A few more screams caused the timid pegasus to whimper and shrink back into her friends' protective cacoon of feathers, but she continued on determinedly without cowering on the ground.
"Want a cupcake?" Pinkie asked appearing out of nowhere in front of them and holding out the said treat to Fluttershy. "I always find eating cupcakes helps with everything." So saying Pinkie shoved the cupcake in Fluttershy's mouth, and disappeared as randomly as she had appeared.
"Pinkie was right. Eating cupcakes does help. Are you okay Twilight?" Fluttershy asked noticing how bad the Alicorn was shivering.
"I'm fine, just feeling cold."
"Really?" Rainbow asked. "Because it's actually not that cold yet." Twilight shivered once more, the air becoming more and more cold with each step she took.
"Here you go Darling." Rarity said placing her cloak over the cold Alicorn. Twilight smiled her thanks unable to talk due to her teeth chattering uncontrollably. She briefly wandered how the others couldn't feel the extreme cold that seemed to seep into her very body and soul. She knew it had something to do with the vortex, because with each step towards it everything became more and more colder, until they reached the bridge that led to the sisters' old castle, and Twilight collapsed into a shivering curled up ball.
"Twilight!" Rainbow called out rushing to her lover. "What happened are you okay?" Twilight talked between shivers.
"S-so....c-c-cold....S-s-so....S-s-so...C-c-cold! I-I....C-c-can't....F-f-feel....A-a-anything...D-d-dashie!" Tears rolled down Twilight's cheeks leaving a icy trail on her face. "H-h-hold....M-m-me...P-p-please?"
"I've got you love." Rainbow whispered pulling Twilight's freezing body into her warm embrace. "How is this even possible? It's not even that cold."
"I think it has something to do with the vortex." Rarity said shivering slightly herself. "I feel cold too."
"Then what about the rest of us, why aren't we cold?"
"Maybe because they're both magical." Applejack suggested, "Twilight's got it worse because she's got more magic."
"F-f-friendship....n-n-need.....T-t-to....U-u-u-use.........F-f-f-friend-s-s-ship's...........F-f-f-f-f-i-i-i-r-r-r......" Twilight's body went limp and she was still expect for the occasional shiver.
"What do ya think she meant." Applejack asked. Rainbow held Twilight's body closer to her.
"I'm not sure, maybe we need to use the Elements of Harmony. Everypony group up." The five friends stood in a tight circle around Twilight and joined hoofs. Rainbow wasn't exactly sure how this was going to work, she just hoped something happened soon. Warmth began spread spreading through her body like a fire as her Element's power began linking up with the other Elements. Multicolored streams of light began flowing through the air connecting to each Element, and the group of friends began rising in the air as it swirled faster and between them forming a continuous loop. Steams of light burst from each Element and met in the center of the circle, and a stream of magic shot down into Twilight's body. Twilight screamed throwing her cloak off before and rose into the air without the use of her wings. The runes on her body began glowing with dark blue electric light, and blue energy began crackling over her body, before Twilight thrust both her front hoofs forward sending a massive stream of blue lightning towards the vortex. The lightning hit the vortex with a massive explosion of energy which burst across the sky in a fiery blue ring and the vortex began closing in on itself. But before it closed all the way a dark shape fell out of the hole, leaving a trail of crimson liquid in its wake.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Darklight knew he only had a limited amount of time before Celestia used the Elements of Harmony to try and close the portal which lead from his world into Equestria, he just hoped he could get though in time. Pulling two handguns equipped with silencers and silver bullets Darklight stepped into the portal which closed behind him and opened up some distance away in front of him. Darklight began running as fast as he could towards it, hoping to get as close as possible before any unsavory creatures noticed his presence in their realm. A loud blood curdling scream told him he was already spotted and a dark shape rose up in front of him. Its body was was tall and apelike in shape with thick black fur, long razor sharp claws, and saber tooth fangs dripping with venom. Darklight raised his guns and began firing bullet after bullet into the creature's face, and jumped over its body, ducking as a bat like creature swooped for him. The creature hissed its displeasure and dove once more. Alex swerved to the side grabbing its neck as it flew by, before sticking his gun in its mouth and blowing its head off. Blood and brains burst in his face, and he only paused long enough to wipe his eyes clean. Another blood curdling scream told him more of the ape creatures were coming, and two more of them stepped out of the shadows in front of him. Cursing Darklight used the rest of his ammunition to kill the first one, and he threw his empty guns away pulling a black ring from his pocket which he slid onto his right middle finger. Cold dark power flowed through his veins like a raging river, and the shadows began writhing with a life of their own. Darklight made a slashing motion towards the creature, and a large scythe of shadows cleaved its body neatly in two. He leaped over the two halves of the creature, just as another stepped in front of him. Shadows curled around Darklight's hand and he clung to the creatures chest smashing his fist through its heart, before a slashing a knife formed of shadows across its throat. A flash of multicolored light on the other side of the portal told him his time was running out, and he ran faster black oil like liquid pouring out of the pores in his hands forming a long black sword, samurai in design. More bearlike creatures blocked his way to the other side of the portal and he ran through them slashing their arteries and tendons. He was only a few meters away from the portal now and a stream of blue lightning hit it causing it to close faster and faster. Darklight leaped forward and another black creature stepped in front of him stabbing its talons through his chest. Darklight screamed in pain and slashed his sword across its throat, before pulling himself free of its talons and jumping through the portal just before it closed. Darkness claimed his mind and the only sensation he felt was falling through cold air.
The rise of Twilight Sparkle
The small group of ponies cautiously made their way across the rotting bridge that spanned across a deep gorge which led to the sister's old castle where the vortex had opened up at. Fluttershy was back under Rainbow's wing, and Twilight led the way through the darkness using a simple illumination spell. The last thing the Alicorn remembered before she had passed out from the coldness was thanking Rarity for a blanket that the white unicorn had given her, after that it was just a blur of white fog and confusing images. These lapses in memory had been happening a lot these past few days, ever since she had carved the runes onto her body. A vague memory of something Celestia said flashed through her mind, something about the side effects of the rune as it accumulated to her mind and body, she just couldn't remember it. Twilight felt something jab her painfully in the shoulder interrupting her from her thoughts. "Owww....Rainbow, what the hay. Can't you see I'm trying to think here, now get out of here and remember to close the library door on the way out." Twilight blinked a few times as she realized what she had just said. "Did I just say....library?" Her friends nodded and Rainbow placed a hoof on her shoulder.
"You haven't exactly been yourself the past ten minutes. At one point you thought Celestia was going to send you back to magic kindergarten, and you've been pacing around in circles mumbling things to yourself." Twilight was confused. All the other times she had thought she was in other times in her life she at least remembered what was said. But this time she couldn't remember anything.
"I..I don't remember any of that. The last thing I remember is Rarity giving me a blanket because I was cold, and I only have a vague recollection of something falling from the sky and landing in the sister's castle." Rainbow nodded
"Yes, and you were leading us to the castle to make sure it was safe, and use the Elements of Harmony if it wasn't." When Rainbow mentioned the Elements of Harmony memories flashed through Twilight's mind. She was laying on the ground shivering with extreme cold she had just told the others to use friendship's warmth, but instead of the intense warmth that usually accompanied the Element's power, she only felt her own icy cold power flowing through her body, before she used it to shut down the portal.
"Hello earth to Twilight, got a creepy castle to check out, or are you just going to stand there staring blankly all night." Rainbow's bought her from her thoughts, ann Twilight shook her head to clear it.
"Let's go." She muttered walking to the castle, and Rarity came up beside her.
"Twilight darling, perhaps we should take a little break before be we continue. We need to make sure you stay lucid when we face whatever's in the castle."
"Rarity's right sugar cube, if it is something dangerous then we're going to need you in you right mind to deal with it." Twilight stopped walking and they all looked at her waiting for her decision.
"Fifteen minutes, then we're moving again. Collect some wood for a fire but don't go too far, and travel in pairs. We'll make a camp here." Once everpony had returned from their tasks they had a sizable pile of wood which burst into flames with Twilight's magic. Each of them huddled around it grateful for the warmth it provided. Rainbow laid down next to Twilight placing her wing over the Alicorn's back. Twilight nuzzled her marefriend and snuggled closer to her as they watched the flickering flames devouring the wood. "Can I tell you something?" Twilight asked after several minutes of silence.
"Of course you can babe, you can tell me anything. You know that." Twilight took a deep breath.
"I'm scared Dashie!" Rainbow pulled Twilight closer to her.
"We all are Twilight."
"No, I'm not talking about being scared of whatever's out there. I'm scared of myself." Rainbow gave her a confused look but didn't say anything so Twilight continued on. "I don't remember anything specific up until Rarity gave me her cloak, it's all just vague thoughts and feelings. But one of those feelings scares me. When you used the Element's power on me, I didn't feel the usual warmth of its power, instead I only felt like a raging river of icy cold power was flowing through my veins, it was more power than I could ever imagine, and I loved that feeling. It was the feeling of invincibility like nothing could stand against me. If I had this much power when facing Discord, or Nightmare Moon, or even Sunset Shimmer when she was in her demon form, I wouldn't have needed the Elements of Harmony to stop them. I could have stopped them myself, and that scares me. I feel like I'm drowning in my own power, like it's trying to control me, make me use it the way it wants me to use it. The worst thing is, I want it to take over." Twilight looked away from her friends' gazes ashamed of what she had just said.
"What do you mean you want it to take over darling?" Twilight scrunched her eyes closed, she couldn't stand seeing their concerned looks, she didn't deserve their love.
"It's just with everything that's been going on lately, the blizzard and almost losing Dashie, having to go through Tartarus for some gem, and not to mention everything else I've gone through ever since I got to Ponyville, it just gets to be a bit much and I just want to forget about everything sometimes, even if it means letting my magic take over." Applejack smiled and walked over to give Twilight a hug.
"We know how you feel Sugar Cube, sometimes things can get to be a bit much and we just want everything to go away even for a minute. But we can't, all we can do is rely on our friends and family to help us through the dark times just as we would help them. You're not alone Sugar Cube, you've got us to be there for you."
"Not to mention cupcakes!" Pinkie shoving one into Twilight's mouth. Rainbow gave her a kiss licking some of the icing from her mouth.
"Everything's going to be okay Sparkles, whatever's going on with you I'm going to be there for you no matter what, I promise." Twilight snuggled closer to her marefriend's warmth.
"Thanks Dashie, I don't think I can do this without you." Twilight smiled and used her magic to pull the rest of the ponies into a hug. "Or without any of my friends." Fluttershy gave the Alicorn a comforting nuzzle.
"We're all here for you Twilight. No matter where you go, or whatever scary monsters you face, we'll always be there for you."
"Uh guys....." The group of friends turned to Pinkie who was pointing to something in the forest. Twilight peered into the forest, but couldn't see anything wrong.
"What's the matter Pinkie?" The pink pony whimpered, before backing off slowly and hiding behind Rarity's tail.
"Something's out there!" Twilight still couldn't see anything so she activated her runes of sight and everything was suddenly lit with bright violet light, and she could see several pony forms walking awkwardly through the forest. Their flesh was falling off in disgusting clumps revealing the rotting muscles with maggots and pus falling off them with each step they took.
"Zombie ponies run!" Twilight yelled. The group needed no further warning before they took off running in the opposite direction.
'Where the hay did they come?" Rainbow yelled.
"I don't know! Something like this should be impossible...." Twilight was interrupted when Fluttershy screamed as as her hoof got caught in a root and one of the zombie ponies jumped on her biting her in the shoulder. Twilight cursed and flew to her friend her horn glowing as she blasted the zombie away from Fluttershy. "I've got you Fluttershy! Are you okay?" The pegasus whimpered and fell into Twilight's embrace.
"My shoulder hurts, and I can't feel my leg......" Fluttershy gasped and she clung tighter Twilight. "Please don't leave me."
"Never! But we need to get you out of here." Twilight's horn glowed and she teleported to the rest of the group, and teleported them into the castle several hundred meters away. Twilight laid Fluttershy down before reinforcing the castle doors with her magic. "Is everypony else okay?"
'We're all okay." Rainbow said panting. "What happened to Fluttershy?"
"One of the zombies bit her. I think their condition is contagious." Rarity gasped.
"You mean Fluttershy is going to turn into one of those horrible creatures?" Twilight stared numbly at her sick friend.
"If I don't find a way to stop the infection from spreading she will. We need to get to the top of one of the towers we need as much time as possible so I can try and heal her, so gather around." Once everypony was together Twilight's horn glowed and she teleported them to the north tower. Fluttershy gave a painful moan as the flesh around the bite mark on her shoulder began rotting and falling away. "Stay with me Flutters." Twilight whispered brushing a piece of her mane out of her face. "Everything's going to be okay. I'm going to make you okay."
"Uh Twilight?" Pinkie said tapping her on the shoulder.
"Not now Pinkie!" The tapping became more insistent.
"But Twilight you really need to see this!"
"I said not now!" Twilight's horn glowed and her magic enveloped the pink pony's tail pulling her away.
"I must agree with Pinkie Pie on this one darling. This is most strange and irregular." Twilight sighed and looked back at what was bothering the others and her mouth hit the fall. A human was laying spread eagled on the flagstones with blood flowing from large multiple holes stabbed through his chest.
"What in Celestia's name is this?" Twilight muttered walking over to the fallen person. She had seen humans before from her trip to Canterlo High, but not like this one. His wasn't the color of anypony she had seen in Equstria, and his clothes were completely shredded and falling apart. Rainbow caustiously walked towards him and nudged him with her hoof before backing away as fast she could. "We'll take care of this later. Right now I've got to help Fluttershy." Twilight turned her attention back to the wounded pegasus and was alarmed to see the infection had spread to the rest of her leg, and was now making steady progress across her shoulder and chest. Twilight activated her healing runes and wiped away the blood covering Fluttershy's mouth before kissing her. Blue flames flowed from the Alicorn's mouth into Fluttershy's body and the zombie rot began receding leaving behind clean living flesh and fur. Fluttershy gasped and began coughing up the blood out of her lungs and throat. "You're okay!" Twilight said hugging her friend closely to her not caring about the blood Fluttershy coughed up on her violet coat.
"Uh Twilight....you might want to see this!"
"What is it Dashie?" Twilight turned around to see the other ponies backing away as the blood from the human began flowing back into his body. Twilight could only stare in amazement as the human's began repairing its bones, muscles, and closing the huge holes in his chest. "How is this possible? This is impossible." The human gasped as the last of the holes in his chest closed up and began breathing heavily.
"What in tarnation is this thing?" Applejack asked looking worried, suspicious, and scared all at the same time.
"I'm not exactly sure. He resembles the humans back in the other Equestria, but unlike the other humans this one doesn't have a pony he resembles." Twilight's horn glowed as she used her magic to remove the remains of his shirt and coat revealing a empty sword scabbard strapped to his back, and a line of black runes tattooed down the entire length of his arms. Twilight ran a hoof down the runes which were almost similar to her own and icy coldness shot through her body. Twilight jerked her hoof back and stepped away.
"What are we going to do now?" Rainbow asked. "We still got a whole bunch of zombie ponies to get past in order to get back to Ponyville, or Canterlot." The human's eyes shot open and the Mane Six each took a step back.
"I can help with that." The human said sitting up. "But It'll use up the rest of my strength, so afterwards I'll need you to take me to Ponyville library. It'll take me some time to recover during which I'll need you to create a transformation rune, I can't walk around Equestria like this. I'll also need that cloak." The human gestured to Rarity's cloak discarded on the ground. Twilight levitated the cloak to the human who tied it around his waist before he stood up. "Follow me down in two minutes, use the stairs. I'll more than likely be unconscious or very close to it, so one of you will need to carry me. Where's my sword?" Twilight used her magic to light the darker corners of the tower and found a long black glasslike sword hidden in the shadow. But before she could get it for him, the human grabbed grabbed the sword and vaulted over the tower's edge. Twilight gasped and looked over the edge expecting to see him dead on the ground, but the human was alive and cutting through the zombie ponies.
"What the hay was that?" Rainbow said pulling Twilight around to face her.
"I'm not sure, but I think Celestia knows who he is. When she saw the portal she said "Darklight" I think that's his name."
"Why do ya think he's here in Equestria?" Twilight frowned.
"I don't know, but I doubt it's for anything good. These past Two weeks have been one disaster after another. First the blizzard, Rainbow dying, Celestia asking me to participate in the Equestrian games, now these zombie ponies and Darklight....."
"What did you just say?' Rainbow demanded. "You just said I died!" Twilight waved a hoof dismissively.
"I'm tired and not thinking right Dashie, I meant to say "almost dying." We should probably get going now." Twilight walked over to Fluttershy and helped the pegasus to stand up. "You feeling okay?"Fluttershy nodded and looked towards the ground.
"I just feel a little strange is all." Twilight gave Fluttershy a quick hug.
"We'll take care of everything when we get back to Ponyville. But right now we need to leave." Twilight led the way down the stairs and Rainbow walked up next to her.
"This is so weird. This.....uh...."
"Guy?" Twilight offered.
"This guy, he just appears in Equestria and starts talking as though it's completely normal?" Twilight chewed her lip thoughtful.
"I don't think this is the first time he's been here. When Celestia saw the portal she said "Darklight" and then she began giving instructions to reinforce Canterlot's defenses as though she had met him before. Not to mention the instructions he gave us before leaping off the tower. "Make a transformation rune, I can't walk around Equestria looking like this" so clearly he's been here before."
"We need to find out what the buck is going on." Twilight whipped her tail across Rainbow's flank.
"Dashie, language!" The pegasus' cheeks flamed to life at her marefriend's reprimand, and Twilight gave her a quick nuzzle before cautiously opening the castle's doors. There was a moment of shocked silence as they took in the scene before them before Rarity went some distance away and threw up. Fluttershy gasped before fainting, and Rainbow and Applejack both paled. Twilight oddly didn't feel anything beyond mild shock as she viewed the carnage before. The whole ground was covered hoof deep in rotting zombie flesh and body pieces, some of it still twitched, and Twilight could feel the bodiless heads gazing up at her. "Let's go!" Twilight said her horn glowing as she cleared a path through the mess of dead zombie bodies. The others followed her out reluctantly, and Rarity threw up once more when they were out of the mess.
"That was without doubt the most disgusting and horrid thing I've ever seen!"
"Well as soon as we find the human we can leave." Twilight said looking around for the human. The others helped her with the search and they found him sitting against a tree breathing shallowly. "Applejack, you think you can carry him back to Ponyville, I would use my magic but there could be other things waiting out there."
"Shouldn't be too much of a problem." Twilight's horn glowed and she levitated the human to Applejack and laid him across her back. She huffed at the weight on her back and once she was confident that she could walk without falling over, she gave Twilight a nod and they began walking back to Ponyville. As they walked Twilight couldn't help but study the human a scientific eye. The same lines of small and delicate runes that ran down his arms, also ran the center of his spine, she also noticed the back of his legs had were the same.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Rainbow asked, glancing nervously at the human.
"No I don't. But we can't just leave him here. That wouldn't be right." The human stirred and murmured something before falling unconscious again. "Besides we need him to give us some answers."
"Don't you think bringing a human into Ponyville is going to freak some ponies out a bit." Twilight consider this point thoughtfully.
"True. I'll just cast a illusion spell to make it so nopony but us can see him." Twilight's horn glowed and a violet light spread over the human's body before sinking into his skin.
"Did it work?" They came to the edge of the forest and they could see ponies already up and about at the dawn of a new day.
"We're about to find out!" Thankfully the spell had worked and the ponies didn't give them a second glance as they walked towards the library. By the time they got there it was already snowing again and Twilight levitated several logs of wood into the fireplace where they burst into flames. And Applejack gave a sigh of relief as Twilight pulled the human for her back and placed him near the fireplace.
“What do we do now, Twi?” Applejack asked stretching her sore muscles. Twilight’s horn glowed and books began flowing in neat rows off the shelves.
“I need to start working on a transformation rune, it’s going to take some time but I can do it. Meanwhile I don’t suppose you can help Rainbow set up the spare bed in the basement, and bring up some extra blankets up as well. Rarity I need you and Fluttershy to make up some soup for when he wakes up.” The four ponies went off to do their assignments and Pinkie pie tapped Twilight on the shoulder.
“Anything you want me to do?” Twilight hesitated before picking a book at random and giving it to her.
“You can look through that book and see if you can find any transformation......”
“Found one!” Twilight’s mouth hit the floor as Pinkie opened the book at random and shoved the book in her face.
“How did you do that?” Pinkie shrugged and hummed to herself as she bounced out of the library. Shaking her head at the pink mystery that could never be solved, Twilight pulled the book off her face and began reading the details of the transformation rune. The spell work was seriously more complicated than the one she had used to turn them into Breezies, so Twilight prepared herself for a long day of work ahead of her.
------------------------------
“Do ya think Twilight’s okay?” Applejack asked as she helped Rainbow clear a space in the basement for the spare bed.
“What do you mean?” Applejack shrugged.
“She’s just been acting differently lately.” Rainbow stopped what she was doing to look her friend in the eye.
“Different how?” Applejack made a vague gesture with her hoof.
“I don’t know, it’s like she’s trying to figure out a particularly hard problem in her mind, but she can’t, and it’s bothering her a lot.” Rainbow frowned and went back to cleaning.
“I’ve noticed she’s been a bit preoccupied, but who wouldn’t be with everything that’s going on?”
“What in tarnation.....?” Rainbow looked over at Applejack as she began opening a large.
“Don’t touch that!” Rainbow yelled diving across the room and tackling the earth pony to the ground. Unfortunately the box tipped over and its contents spilled across the floor. “Rainbow what’s gotten into y...” Applejack’s mouth hung open when she saw what was in the box. “Well well well. Ah guess that explains everything.” Applejack picked up a ball gag and riding crop. “So who’s idea was this?” Rainbow’s cheeks flamed to life and she couldn’t meet her friends gaze. Applejack picked up the box and began rummaging through it. “What else ya got in here?”
“None of your business!” Rainbow said attempting to pull the box away. Applejack held it out of her reach and pulled a full black latex body suit with short chains connecting the legs, followed by several more outfits and toys ranging between Dom and Sub styles. Rainbow snarled and flew at the earth pony grabbing the box and shoving everything back inside. Applejack watched her with an amused smile.
“I didn’t know you two had such exotic taste. Which one of you is the Sub?” Rainbow glared at her.
“Once again none of your business. Besides this was a long time ago when Twi and me were having problems.”
“What kinda problems?” The door to the basement opened and Twilight walked down the stairs.
“Like Dashie said, none of your business. And if you tell anypony of what you’ve seen or talked about down here, I’ll curse your apple orchard to grow only oranges for the next decade.” Applejack gulped, and her face turned ghost white.
“My lips are sealed.”
“Good. Now then, Dashie have you seen my potion kit?” Rainbow gestured to the corner of the room.
“It’s over there. How’s it going with out guest upstairs?” Twilight walked over to her potion kit and began collecting its different pieces in her magical grasp.
“He’s still unconscious, I’ve tried several reviving spells, but for some reason I can’t affect his body with my magic. It’s like there’s some kind of barrier protecting him. It’s really fascinating.” Twilight left the room leaving the two friends to their task. Rainbow placed the box as far away as possible and began cleaning the basement once more.
“Ah don’t think this is a good idea. Maybe we should just find away to send this guy back to his own world.”
“Twilight will probably ask Celestia what we should do. But in any case we should keeping wearing our Elements of Harmony.” The two ponies continued working in silence until Applejack broke it.
“Is it any good?” Rainbow paused in her work.
“Is what any good?” She asked cautiously. Applejack gestured to the box, and Rainbow’s cheeks reddened. “Oh...actually it’s pretty fun once you get used to it. Twilight can actually do some awesomely kinky stuff. ”
“Ah’m gonna stop you right there partner. Ah have no interest in your love life.” Just then a loud explosion came from upstairs followed by a string of very creative and crude curses.
“I better go and make sure everything’s okay with my girlfriend. You good down here?” Applejack shrugged.
“Almost done here sugar cube, you go check on Twi.” Rainbow made her way up the stairs and into the lounge room which was full of black foul smelling smoke.
“Twilight you okay?!” A violet light shone dully through the smoke and a strong breeze developed out of nowhere blowing the smoke out of the windows.
“I’m fine.” Twilight muttered. “Just added a little too much black root powder.” Rainbow looked around at the mess in the library and began picking up the fallen books.
“On the bright side at least it wasn’t one of my failed ariel tricks that made this mess.” A loud gasping sound came from the human in front of the fireplace and his eyes shot open.
“Water.....” He said softly. “Need.......water.....” Twilight teleported into the kitchen grabbing a glass in her magical grasp filling it up with water before teleporting back into the lounge room. The human grabbed the glass downing its contents in one gulp and relaxed once more.
“What’s your name?” Twilight asked.
“Darklight....” The human muttered before falling back asleep. Twilight watched him for a few moments before helping Rainbow clean the library. Applejack came up from the basement covered in dust and carrying extra blankets which Twilight used to cover Darklight. After nearly two hours of cleaning, the library was more or less back to its normal self.
“Thankyou for your help girls. But now I need to work on the transformation rune.”
“No prob, sugar cube.” Applejack grabbed Rainbow Dash and pulled her into the kitchen. “See what ah mean? Half those books were in the wrong order, something Twilight would never let slide.” Rainbow rolled her eyes.
“We just witnessed a creature we’ve never seen before fall out of a portal before we were chased through the Everfree forest by a bunch of zombie ponies, which were then killed by the creature we’ve never seen before. I don’t think a few misplaced books are on the top of her list of priorities right now.”
“What are you two arguing about this time?” Rarity asked levitating several pots of liquid to the stove.
“Nothing important, Rares. Applejack thinks Twilight is different from her normal self, but can you really blame her with everything that’s been going on?”
“Indeed darling. In any case we’re going to help her through whatever’s going on with her.”
“I hate to leave you like this.” Fluttershy said. “But I really must get back to my cottage, my animal friends need me.”
“Ah’ll walk you home, Fluttershy.” The two friends left the library and Rainbow began helping rarity with the food. By the time everything was cooked It was mid afternoon and Twilight was just adding the final touches to the large complicated rune she had drawn on the library floor.
“All good in here?” Rainbow asked placing a bowl of cream soup on the floor in front of Twilight.
“All good.” Twilight said placing dow her quill and picking up the bowl of soup, and taking a sip. “Wow Rarity this is delicious. If I wasn’t already with Rainbow, I’d hook up with you just for the meals.” Rarity blushed at Twilight’s praise and a delicate sip of her soup.
“Well no need for that darling. I can just teach Rainbow how to cook.” Twilight choked back a laugh causing soup to come out of her nose.
“Somehow I doubt everpony in Ponyville would be willing to hold up flash cards for recipes as Rainbow flew over them.”
“Oh come on....surely it’s not that hard following instructions from a recipe book. And besides if me learning how to cook will make you more happy, than I’m willing to give it a shot.” Twilight nuzzled Rainbow’s cheek, and licked a bit of soup from her lips.
“You don’t have to do that Dashie, I’m happy with the way you are right now.”
“Awww.....Have I ever told you how adorable you two are together?” Before Twilight could tell Rarity she had in fact told them how adorable they were together many times before, Darklight groaned as he began waking up.
“Smells delicious.” Darklight said before he clutched his stomach and doubled over in pain. His thick well toned muscles were tensed tightly in pain, and he began throwing up waves of blood. Twilight grabbed the mop buckets from the kitchen and held it under his mouth.
“Are you okay?” Darklight shook his head.
“Not really, my guts feel like they’ve been pulverized, and I can’t feel my legs.” Twilight looked uncertain.
“Is there anything I can do to help?” Darklight wiped his mouth smearing blood across the back of his hand.
“I’ll be fine once I’ve got some food in me. I haven’t eaten in ages.” Twilight levitated a bowl of soup to him and he sipped from it gratefully.
“What exactly are you?” Rainbow asked walking up to him cautiously.
“A human. Well a Familiar if you want to be technical about it. Twilight here should be able to explain everything.” Twilight backed off a few paces.
“How do you know my name?” Darklight smirked.
“I can still hear things even if I am passed out.”
“And what the hay is a Familiar.” Darklight yawned and placed his empty bowl on the ground.
“You’ll find everything out soon enough. In the meantime I need to make myself less conspicuous, did you get the transformation rune do...” A gold aura surrounded his body and he was suddenly wrenched out of the library, bursting through the front door in a shower of splinters and wood. Darklight stood up brushing bits of wood from his body. “Celestia, you’re looking well, banishing innocent ponies to the moon agrees with you.” Celestia glared at him.
“Go back to your own world Darklight, we don’t you need you here.”
“You do need me here actually, you just don’t want me here. What’s the matter Tia, afraid I might spill some of your secrets?” A blast of golden energy slammed into his chest and he was thrown halfway across Ponyville. “As calm and collected as I remember.” Darklight muttered to himself pulling a black ring from his pocket. Pounding hooves sounded on the dirt road and Darklight looked up just as Celestia sent a wall of flame towards him. Dark shadows formed a wall in front of him swallowing the flames, before descending on the princess in a thousand shards of darkness. Blue lightning disintegrated the shadows and Twilight dropped from the sky landing between them with glowing runes covering her body.
“Enough! No more fighting.” Darklight shrugged pulling the ring off his finger causing the shadows to flow back to their original positions. Twilight looked expectantly at Celestia, who glared at Darklight before sending another stream of energy towards him. Twilight snarled diving in front of the magic, deflecting it away from her, before conjuring a shield between the human and Celestia. “I thought I said no more fighting.” Twilight muttered glaring at her mentor.
“Twilight this human is dangerous, given the chance he’ll destroy Equestria.” Darklight chuckled humorlessly.
“You seem pretty content on doing that yourself, princess. Tell me, how long before the walls of Tartarus start to crumble?” Celestia glared at him through the shield.
“Tartarus is as strong as ev.....”
“Is that why you had your student carve the Lost Rune into her body, you couldn’t have know I was coming.....but you do know Tartarus is about to fall.”
“What are you talking about?” Twilight asked looking confused. Darklight gave Celestia a grim smile before turning to Twilight.
“I’ll explain everything if you come with me back to the library.”
“Don’t listen to him!” Celestia warned.
“Unlike your so called mentor here, I don’t believe in holding back critical and personal information from ponies who need it in order to survive. Surely you’re curious as to why Celestia gave you the information you needed in order to create Star Swirl’s Lost Rune, yet she refuses to give you the Lost Rune’s complete and unaltered history. I can give you the answers you need to know, you all have to do is follow me back to the library.”
“He’s lying Twilight! Come back to Canterlot with me.” Darklight turned away and began walking back to the library. “You can’t go with him Twilight. He’ll say anything to get you to trust him.” Twilight glared at the princess.
“At least he’s willing to give me answers. You’ve done nothing but stonewall me every time I’ve asked questions. At least now I’ll finally get some proper answers.” Tears fell down Celestia’s cheek and she looked away from Twilight.
“Just remember Twilight, we all do things we’re not proud of at some point in our lives. I was just trying to keep Equestria safe.” Twilight watched with mixed emotions as Celestia flew off in the direction of Canterlot. She wanted to go after her mentor and tell her everything was going to be alright, but she needed answers more. Twilight turned her back on the retreating princess, and followed after Darklight.
Twilight Sparkle was angry and confused, she had never acted this way towards her mentor, but at the moment she didn’t care, she only cared about getting answers, she needed answers. There was nothing more frustrating than an unanswered question. Twilight walked through the broken door of the library and froze mid-step just as Darklight stepped out from the transformation rune. He was the Alicorn from her dream at the hospital, the same jet black fur, the electric blue eyes, the mare-ish physique, and the same cutie marks of skulls and blue flames. Twilight’s horn glowed and she grabbed Darklight in her magical grasp forcing him against the wall. “ANSWERS NOW!!” Darlight’s own horn glowed with an electric blue aura and shadows swirled around him, and when they dispersed he was on the other side of the room.
“I told you I’d give you all the answers you wanted if you followed me back to the library, which you have, so no need for threats, just ask away.” Twilight took a deep breath and gestured to the kitchen.
“We’ll talk in there. Rarity, Rainbow, would mind cleaning up some of this mess?” The two ponies gave each other a look before picking up the pieces of smashed door. Twilight left them to their work and walked into the kitchen followed by Darklight who stood quietly by the door. “First question, what did you mean when you said to Celestia “sending innocent ponies to the moon agrees with you?” Luna wasn’t innocent.....”
“Yes she was.” Darklight muttered. Twilight gave him a confused look. “When Luna broke and turned into Nightmare Moon, I could have helped Luna gain control of her new found dark powers, and convinced her to lower the moon to make way for the sun. Celestia didn’t need to banish her to a thousand years of isolation.”
“But how could you have helped her.....”
“The same way I’m going to have to help you.” Twilight frowned.
“I don’t need any help!”
“Yes you do. Do you know the real reason Celestia gave you the information to create the Lost Rune...”
“She actually only wanted me to study it, not create it.” Darklight smiled.
“You really think Celestia didn’t know you were going to create the Lost Rune, I’ve known you for two hours and already I know you would jump at a chance to test out new magic. Tartarus is going to fall and unleash its ancient evil on Equestria, that’s why I’m here, and that’s why Celestia gave you the chance to create the Lost Rune, it’s the only way she could save Equestria and herself. In order to save Equestria you’re going to have to use the same dark powers that are threatening it.”
“Can’t we just use the Elements of Harmony?”
“No you can’t. Tartarus is home to extremely powerful ancient creatures that have been imprisoned there for over two thousand years. Darkness this strong, can only be fought with stronger darkness. Celestia knows this which is why she unsealed the dark arts section of her old castle’s library and pulled out the details of the Lost Rune.” Twilight rubbed her temples feeling a headache coming on.
“Do you know what the Lost Rune is exactly. Celestia said there were side effect.....”
“But she didn’t tell you what they were, did she?” Twilight shook her head. “First of all you’ll think you’re in different parts of life, you should be past that stage by now. The second side effect is violent mood swings, followed by unpredictable and erratic behaviour. The third phase is the worst, if you haven’t fully converted to using dark magic you’ll be subjected to extreme pain thresholds as your natural magic and the rune magic fight each other for room in your body. If you don’t choose between one or the other you could die.”
“Why would Star Swirl create such a rune anyway.”
“Because of me, the first Time Star Swirl and I met was during the time he was using the Elements of Harmony to free Equestria from the evil that was plaguing it. I could sense the magical disturbances in my world and tracked it to Equestria. I helped Star Swirl in his quest until the very end when we were about shut the gates of Tartarus. I wanted to destroy the realm and everything in it, but Star Swirl wouldn’t let me. Star Swirl tried use the Elements of Harmony against me, but what he didn’t know was I’m their dark opposite, their powers are useless against me. When Star Swirl figured this out he secretly moved the gates of Tartarus and I’ve been coming back every one hundred years to find them. On my fifth visit Star Swirl found me and told me to never come back. I refused and that’s when he revealed the the Lost Rune. He knew darkness as strong as mine, couldn’t be fought with light, it could only be fought with stronger darkness. That’s what the Lost Rune is.”
“I don’t believe that, the Elements of Harmony, and the power of friendship have never let me down before....”
“I’ll prove it to you. Use the Elements of Harmony against me.” Darklight spoke with such casualness like he was merely commenting on the weather rather than having her use the most powerful form of magic to attack him.
“I don’t think that a good idea...” Darklight shrugged and stood up stretching his wings.
“Your choice, the offer still stands.” Darklight walked back into the lounge room just as Rainbow and Rarity were picking up the bits of broken door.
“I don’t know about you Rainbow darling, but I could certainly use a trip to the spa.” Rainbow made a gagging noise.
“No thanks Rares.”
“I wouldn’t mind a little pampering myself.” Darklight said stretchering out his body. “I’ll join you.” Rainbow burst out laughing and fell to the floor holding her stomach. Darklight gave her a blank emotionless stare. “Something amusing you Dashie?”
“Yo...You...You’re going....to....the....spa...”
“I don’t like smelling like zombie rot, and I’ve got blood still stuck to my body. So yes I’m going to the spa.” Twilight walked into the room and glared at her marefriend.
“Leave him alone Rainbow Dash. You could use a little spa treatment yourself, you smell like sweat and dirt.” Rainbow stopped laughing and gazed at Twilight with concern.
“Are you okay babe? You’ve never said something like that before.” Twilight groaned and rubbed her head.
“Sorry mood swings...” Rainbow held up a hoof.
“Say no more babe....it’s that time of month again...though it does put a damper on my plans for you tonight.”
“It’s nothing like that Dashie....it’s just another side effect of these blasted runes....” Twilight gave Rainbow a seductive look and stalked up to her. “.....And what did you have planned for me tonight? Does it involve the contents of a certain box in the basement?” Darklight tapped Rarity on the shoulder and gestured to the broken door.
“Quite right darling, those two can get a bit frisky even in the company of other ponies.” Darklight followed Rarity out of the library, and she lead him down the mane street of Ponyville towards the spa. As they walked, Darklight stared at the white unicorn like he found something particularly interesting at a museum. Rarity huffed and rounded on the Alicorn. “Darklight darling, while I appreciate the attention, I really must insist you stop ogling me in public.” Darklight gave Rarity a small smile.
“.....You remind of someone extremely close to me back home, who died.” Rarity blinked a few times.
“Really? Who?” Darklight turned away from her and looked straight ahead.
“It doesn’t matter, she’s gone.”
“It’s just right here darling.” Rarity said holding out a hoof to stop him walking further. As her hoof made contact with his fur, icy cold electric tingles ran up her legs and through her body causing her to shiver.
“You felt that?” Darklight asked curiously. Rarity nodded and walked into the spa.
“What was it?”
“Necromantic energy.” His statement was met with a blank stare, so Darklight gestured to his cutie mark.
“Death magic. That’s my special talent. All I’m good for really.” Rarity scoffed and paid for their entrance.
“Surely that’s not true!”
“You’re the Element of Generosity, not Honesty. How would you know what’s true?” Rarity pulled on a bathrobe, while Darklight declined one, instead making his way to the bathing tubs. He submerged himself in the hot water and streams of crimson liquid flowed from his fur. The two spa assistants hesitated when they saw the blood in water.
“It’s quite alright darlings,” Rarity assured the ponies as she stepped in the hot tub next to him. “The girls and I had a little run in with some zombie ponies in the Everfree forest, Darklight here saved us.” The two spa ponies nodded and started scrubbing his fur causing more blood to flow into water. They gave his wings a gentle tap and he flared them open for them to wash. Rarity noticed the same dark blue streaks through his mane and tail, were also along the tips and veins of his feathers. “Darklight! Your feathers are amazing! Cadence is the only other Alicorn I’ve seen with multicolored feathers.” Darklight smiled at Rarity’s compliment.
“Cadence? She’s the Princess of Love isn’t she?”
“Uh-huh! What’s your title.” Darklight shrugged.
“Don’t really have one. Back in my world the warlocks call me “Fallen One.” The werewolves and vampires, know me as “Shadow.” And to the purifiers, I’m known as “Azrael.” Rarity gazed at him curiously.
“What exactly are Purifiers?”
“They’re a sect of religious nuts who believe the world needs to be cleansed of all magical creatures and powers.” Darklight stepped out of the hot tub and levitated a towel to dry himself off. Rarity did the same and they walked to the massaging benches.
“Your world sounds extremely dark and dangerous.” Darklight chuckled humorlessly.
“Not as dark and dangerous as I am.” The two companions stopped talking once the spa ponies began their massages, and after a while Rarity became aware of a low rumbling sound filling the room. Rarity glanced at Darklight.
“Are you......purring?” Darklight nodded.
“I’m a Familiar remember. It’s what we do when we’re calm and contented.”
“What exactly is a Familiar?”
“Essentially I’m a shape shifter, or phaser, my second form is either a large house cat or a panther.”
“Do you mind if I say something......I must warn you, it might be offensive.” Darklight extended a wing to be massaged.
“I sincerely doubt you are able to say anything that can offend me.” Rarity hesitated, and Darklight gestured for her to continue.
“It’s just......you’re not like the other stallions I meet.....they tend to be more...sturdily built....and don’t usually go to the spa...so I can’t help but wonder if you’re....”
“A colt cuddler?” Darklight offered. Rarity blushed.
“Sorry.” Darklight smiled.
“Don’t be, I’ve been called worse. And no I’m not a colt cuddler. I choose this particular physique because I prefer slim and graceful over strong and bulky. It allows me to perform more complicated and faster fighting maneuvers which is essential if I’m fighting werewolves or vampires, or I get surrounded during a fight. As for the spa treatment, that comes from my feline side. Have you ever known a cat that likes to be dirty, or not loved a good pampering every once in a while.” The spa ponies finished their massage and Darklight stepped off the table. Rarity now noticed how he moved with predatory grace, and was as silent as death itself, not even his wings ruffled when he walked. They walked to the exit and Darklight’s horn glowed as he held the door open for the white unicorn. Rarity shivered in the cold snowy night air, and brushed some snow from her mane.
“I should have thought to bring a cloak or something. Melting snow always wreaks havoc on my mane.” A low chuckle came from Darklight, and Rarity glared at him. “This is no laughing matter darling, do you have any idea how long it takes to get my mane just right?” Darklight extended a wing and held it over her head.
“You did have a cloak, but you gave it to me remember.” Rarity glanced up at the dark wing covering her from the falling snow.
“How did you know what Element I am? How do you know I’m not the Element of Honesty?” Darklight was silent for a moment.
“Each type of magic has a distinct flavor of power, including the Elements of Harmony. The Element of Generosity is a lot more tingly than the Element of Honesty.” Rarity gestured to her boutique shop.
“This is me right here, darling.” Darklight suddenly pulled her into a hug and whispered softly in her ear.
“There’s something following us, I don’t know what it is but it’s powerful, and it’s targeting your Element. I’m going to place a spell on you that will protect you, then I need you to go to Twilight and tell her to find me in the Everfree Forest.” Before Rarity could say anything, Darklight’s eyes glowed with blue energy and he kissed the unicorn softly on the lips. Rarity gasped and shivered as icy coldness trickled through her mouth and spread through the rest of her body. Darklight broke off the kiss and ran towards the Everfree forest.
-----------------------------------------------
Twilight gave Rainbow a seductive look and stalked up to her. “.....And what did you have planned for me tonight? Does it involve the contents of a certain box in the basement?” Rainbow gulped and was vaguely aware of Darklight and Rarity walking out the broken door of the library.
“Maybe...” Twilight’s horn glowed enveloping the pegasus in her magic, and she teleported them to the basement grabbing the box before teleporting them to the bedroom.
“Perhaps we should try a lucky dip. Whatever comes out of the box first I’ll be using.....” Rainbow shook her head.
“Nope, you’ll use your magic and grab the Dom outfit for yourself.” Twilight smiled mischievously.
“How right you are my little Sub.”
“Come on Twi.” Rainbow pleaded. “You were on top last time, and the time before that.” Twilight levitated the riding crop in front of Rainbow’s face.
“Does Dashie need to be reminded who’s in charge here?” Rainbow sighed dejectedly.
“Fine....whatever....let’s just get this over with.” Twilight hesitated, she couldn’t do this if Rainbow wasn’t happy being the Sub, so she put the riding crop down in front of Rainbow.
“.....Looks like I’m the one who needs to be reminded who’s in charge.” Rainbow’s cocky grin returned and she pulled four violet striped leather socks out of the box, each one with a length of thin chain attached to the end of them.
“You know what I like, babe. I’m going to get changed in the bathroom and when I come back I expect you to be ready.” Rainbow pulled one of the outfits from the box and walked to the bathroom. Twilight collected the violet striped leather socks and slipped them over her hoofs tightening the girths at the top so they couldn’t come off. On a hunch she found a pair of matching crotch-less silk panties and slipped them on, pulling her tail through the accommodating hole in the back. Next, the Alicorn laid spread eagled on the bed using her magic to secure the chains to each of the four bed posts. She levitated the ball gag out of the box and secured it around her mouth, before pulling on a blind fold.
“Rnnffbbw dssth!” Twilight called out after a few minutes of waiting. Twilight heard the bathroom door open Rainbow walking across to her.
“Twilight, I didn’t spend almost ten minutes getting dressed up in this awesome outfit just for you not to appreciate it.” Rainbow pulled the blind fold off and Twilight blinked as her eyes adjusted to the light and she focused her gaze on Rainbow. Had she not been lying on her back, her wings would have shot up with an epic ~POMF.~ Rainbow turned around in slow circles. “You like?” She was wearing black leather boots over fishnet stockings and a pair of leather crotch-less panties.
“Ysshh!” Rainbow smirked and stepped up onto the bed to stand over her bound lover.
“I could kinda tell you like it Sparkles, you’re drooling.” Rainbow ran her tongue over Twilight’s chin cleaning the drool off before nibbling her ear. “You know...I recall some very naughty words being screamed when your potion exploded.....perhaps punishment number three will teach you not to use such foul language.” Twilight struggled against her restraints.
“MMPH!” Rainbow swiped her cheek against Twilight’s, and nuzzled her chest.
“Don’t worry....only ten minutes....”
“MMPH!”
“.....Of relentless sexual teasing.” Twilight glared at her girlfriend, promising retribution. I t was a look Rainbow knew all to well. The pegasus chuckled and drew little circles around Twilight’s nose with her own.
“It’ll be worth it, watching you squirm helplessly as I tease you insistently....have I ever told you how cute you are when you squirm?” Twilight’s glare grew colder. “So which would you prefer first, feather, or tongue?”
“MMPH!” Rainbow nodded.
“Feather it is then!” Rainbow extended a wing and winced as she pulled one of her feathers out. She held in in her mouth as she moved further down Twilight’s body until she was between her legs, where Twilight’s marehood was outlined by the crotch-less panties. Moving with deliberate, and delicate care, Rainbow began tracing the feather up and down Twilight’s plot, causing the Alicorn to moan and twitch uncontrollably. Twilight wanted nothing more than to grab Rainbow’s head and force the pegasus to go down on her, but their rules and her bonds prevented her from doing so. After two minutes of relentless teasing, Rainbow finally placed the feather down, and Twilight relaxed feeling exhausted from all the sensations coursing through her body. Rainbow bent down and ran her tongue over Twilight’s marehood collecting her flowing juices. Twilight whimpered, and Rainbow ran a comforting hoof through her mane. “Don’t worry babe, just eight more minutes, than you can cum as mush as you want.” Rainbow wiped her hoof across Twilight’s chin. “You’re drooling again.”
“MMMMPPPPHHHH!!!” Rainbow smirked and positioned her tail over Twilight’s fun spot.Twilight whimpered once more and she began squirming in her bonds trying to escape the punishing teasing she was about to experience. Rainbow made some comforting noises and began nuzzling Twilight’s cheek.
“It’s okay babe, I’m going to help you through this. Just look into my eyes.” Twilight did as instructed and she saw only unconditional love looking back at her from those beautiful magenta eyes.
“Mmph....” Twilight leaned forward so she could give her Pegasus a nuzzle. If it weren’t for the ball gag in her mouth, Twilight would have ran her tongue across Rainbow’s lips before placing it in her mouth.
“You ready, babe?” Twilight took a deep breath through her nose and nodded, before relaxing into the pillows behind her. Rainbow began swishing her tale back and forth causing Twilight to moan loudly and squirm uncontrollably beneath her. Rainbow nibbled Twilight’s ear sending more delicious sensations through her body. “Just one more minute....stay with me one more minute.” Twilight looked into Rainbow’s eyes and nodded. She had been close to using their safe signal which would have ended her discomfort and Rainbow would have given her the release she was longing for. But during the times they had done this to each other, neither of them had used any of the safe words or signals, as they both knew each other’s limation. As promised, Rainbow stopped her teasing after one minute, and she stepped off the bed. “I know I said ten minutes of teasing. But I can’t stand watching you suffer like this. I know you wouldn’t let me go through the same thing, so how can I let you?” Twilight moaned as release was on the horizon, she just wished Rainbow would hurry up with it. She heard the Pegasus rummaging around in the box and return seconds later wearing a strap-on. Twilight spread her back legs open as far as she could and thrust her hips forward, wanting nothing more than to have Rainbow buck her as hard as possible, so she couldn’t walk for a week. Rainbow stepped up onto the bed and positioned the strap-on over her marehood and Twilight closed her eyes waiting for the sweet release of her intense sexual tension. She felt the tip of the fake meat on her marehood.......
“TWILIGHT! YOU’VE GOT TO COME QUICKLY” The Alicorn’s eyes shot open as Rarity ran into the library. “DARKLIGHT NEEDS YOUR HELP IN THE EVERFREE FOREST!!” Twilight groaned in frustration and she Teleported to the library downstairs leaving behind the ball-gag, panties, and leather socks.
“What are you talking about rarity? What’s wrong with Darklight?” Rarity took a few deep breaths trying to catch her breath.
“We were on our way back from the spa and Darklight said something powerful was targeting my Element, he gave me some sort of spell to protect me so I could come to you.....”
“What type of spell?” Rarity waved the question aside.
“That’s not important....something from the Everfree forest is threatening Ponyville and Darklight is trying to stop it!” Twilight groaned and teleported back into the bedroom where Rainbow was waiting, still dressed, and wearing the strap-on. It took all her self control not to bend over and have Rainbow take her then and there.
“I’ve got to help Darklight with something. Stay here until I come back. And when I do you’re going to buck me til I can’t walk for a week!” Rainbow began taking off her accessories and placing them back in the box.
“I’m coming with....MMPH!” Twilight stopped her girlfriend mid-sentence with a deep kiss.
“I can’t let you do that, not without the rest of the Elements of Harmony, and collecting them will take too long, and Darklight needs my help now. Just stay here with Rarity, I promise I’ll be back” Rainbow huffed and placed the last item back in the box.
“I don’t want to stay here, I want to go with you. I need to protect you!” Twilight grabbed Rainbow by the shoulders and shook her violently.
“I need to you stay here, why can’t you understand me? I can’t worry about you and help Darklight at the same time. Please just listen to me, and do what I ask. I promise I’ll do everything in my power to come back to you.”
“I can’t just stay here! Not when you could be in danger!” Twilight’s horn glowed and she enveloped the pegasus in her magic.
“I’m sorry about this Dashie. But I need you to be safe.” Rainbow was about to say something when her body became limp and still, and Twilight placed her sleeping lover on the bed, before flying out the window into the cold night air. She didn’t know where Darklight was, so she flew higher into the air until all of Ponyville was laid out beneath her. Something caught her attention at the edge of the Everfree forest and she flew towards it until she could make out what it was, and she could only stare memorized by the scene in front of her. Darklight was back in his human form fighting with dozens of large insect like creatures, he moved liquid grace as he used his sword to kill the creatures as they swarmed towards Ponyville. At the same time shadows were flowing through the crowd of insects pulling their bodies apart and slashing their throats. It was like watching an elaborate dance, both beautiful and deadly. But despite all his skill and deadliness the sheer numbers were overwhelming him and getting past his defenses.
‘ANYTIME YOU’RE READY PRINCESS!” Twilight’s runes glowed and she flew towards the ground landing beside Darklight. “Just keep them off my back! I’ll handle everything else.” Twilight nodded and her horn glowed forming a barrier between the creatures and Darklight’s back. One of the creatures lunged at her and a spear of shadows sliced through the back of its neck taking its head. Darklight cried out in pain and Twilight turned to see one of the creatures biting into his shoulder. A stream of energy burst from her horn blasting the creature away, and Darklight continued his attack with vicious, and merciless fury. More creatures began focusing their attention on the Alicorn, but before they could attack several shards of darkness shot up from the ground piercing straight through their bodies. Suddenly the creatures turned and ran back into forest.
“What’s happening?” Twilight asked. “Why are they retreating?” Darklight sighed and and sat down on the ground beside Twilight, breathing heavily. His whole body was covered in cuts which were oozing black blood. “Are you okay?” Darklight shook his head and wiped a hand across his forehead.
“Not really........I just wasted a perfectly good spa treatment!” Twilight blinked at him, and Darklight smirked. “You think Rarity’s going to kill me for wasting her bits?” Twilight stared open mothed at him. “If she won’t...Garro certainly wi....” Darklight groaned and held his head. “He’s coming....need....blood...”
“Blood?” Darklight held out a hand and gestured for her hoof. Twilight hesitantly put it his hand shivering as icy cold electric tingles shot through her body. Darklight sliced the sword across her leg and and cupped his hands under the flow of blood.
“The reason those creatures fled is because something much more dangerous is coming.....” Darklight began smearing her blood over his chest and body. “....A demon named Garro. He was one of the last demons Star Swirl and I imprisoned in Tartarus, he knows my magical scent so I’m hoping the magic in your blood will be enough to mask me....” Darklight held her bleeding leg up to his mouth and gagged as he began drinking her blood. Twilight was faintly disgusted and was grateful when he let go of her hoof. “.....Remember Twilight, you must be prepared to do anything to make it out alive tonight. This is our one chance to destroy one of the most dangerous demons alive in Equestria. It will greatly weaken the darkness threatening Equestria, and greatly increase our chances of saving your friends.” Twilight activated the healing rune, repairing the cut on her leg.
“Saving my friends?” Darklight nodded and stood up swaying slightly.
“Garro was targeting the Element of Generosity, I first sensed him when I was walking Rarity back to her shop, so I gave her enough dark magic to mask her Element. Garro’s now probably trying to find the rest of the Elements....” Twilight gasped and was about run back to Ponyville, but Darklight placed a hand on her back stopping her.
“Garro doesn’t know who or where they are, he only found Rarity’s Element by chance, your friends are safe. But we need to kill Garro to make sure they stay saf....” Darklight groaned and held his head again. “He’s coming, we have to move!” Darklight began walking towards the forest and though he was trying to hide it, Twilight could tell he was badly hurt.
“Are you okay?”
“Not really, I’m in a considerable amount of pain, I’ve got a massive amount of the strongest poison in Tartarus coursing through my body, and to top it off I’m about to take down a demon that requires me to be one hundred percent if I want to survive.”
“I could heal you.” Twilight offered, but Darklight shook his head.
“Garro’s smart, he won’t attack me until I’m close to dead, which won’t be very long now. He’ll also wait until I’m isolated and away from the rest of the Elements of Harmony...”
“I thought you said the Elements of Harmony didn’t work against darkness as strong as this.” Darklight scoffed and stopped walking to lean against a tree.
“The Elements of Harmony are the strongest form of pure magic in Equestria......” Darklight hissed softly and fell to the ground clutching his heart. “.....Garro is a greater demon strong enough to resist the Elements, but doing so will greatly weaken him.....the creatures of Tartarus would love nothing more than to pick off the Elements one by one.....I’m guessing that’s why Garro is here.....how he escaped is a mystery we’ll have to solve before more greater demons decide to escape.” Darklight took a deep breath and pressed a pressed a clump of snow to his forehead. Twilight gave him a doubtful look.
“I thought you said you were capable of destroying Tartarus.....yet a few minor demons seem to have made you useless.” Darklight laughed and winced holding his ribs.
“I was holding back when I was fighting those demons, if I use too much dark magic I run the risk of unleashing something unstoppable and uncontrollable. That can only happen when we’re in Tartarus.” Twilight frowned.
“We?...”
“Celestia asked you to participate in the Equestrian games didn’t she? I’m planning on joining you in hell.” Twilight about to say something when a loud screaming sound echoed through the forest. Darklight cursed and pulled Twilight froward covering her ears so she couldn’t hear the screaming. When it finally stopped, blood leaked from Darklight’s ears, and he slumped against the tree breathing heavily. “Looks like our wait is finally over, that was Garro’s death scream. You’re not yet powerful enough to withstand it.” Darklight Collected his sword and stood up groaning painfully. “I’m going to hold Garro off as long as I can, but when you get the chance use the Lost Rune’s powers and stop his heart.” Twilight shook her head and backed off a few steps.
“I can’t do that....I’ve never killed anything before in my life!” Darklight knelt down and placed his sword in front of her.
“I’ve sacrificed my ability to kill Garro so that you can take him by surprise. He won’t be suspecting that so it’s our best chance to end him for good. You’re Equestria’s only chance of survival, if you fail in this, Garro will find a way to kill us both, and then he’s going to kill your friends and take the Elements of Harmony. From there Equestria falls back to its dark days before Tartarus was built, and nothing will be able to bring it back this time.”
“But......there has to be another way!” Darklight snarled and for a moment something dark twisted and evil shone through his eyes, it only lasted a second but Twilight saw it.
“Star Swirl said the exact same thing when we first imprisoned the creatures, and now two thousand years later history is repeating itself. The only way to keep your friends, family, and the future of Equestria safe is to kill everything that threatens them. If I had done that the first time I was here, this wouldn’t be happening, you wouldn’t start being consumed by darkness, and none of your friends’ lives would be in danger. Killing these creatures is the only way Equestria is kept safe, if you don’t, Equestria will fall forever.” For a moment Darklight watched as Twilight struggled internally with her decession, but he knew her love for Equestria and keeping her friends safe was going to override her moral objections of killing an evil demon. “Think of Rainbow Dash and what it would mean for her if you don’t kill this demon.” Twilight’s eyes widened and a tear trailed down her cheek.
“I’ll do it!” Twilight said resolutely. “I have to keep my Pegasus safe.....no matter what.....” More tears rolled down her cheeks and Darklight gave her a soft hug, running a comforting hand down her back.
“Just remember who you are. If you feel like you’re slipping towards the abyss. Just remember what makes you Twilight Sparkle.” Twilight hugged Darklight back somehow finding comfort in the icy tingles flowing through her body from their contact. The air around them grew colder and Darklight stood grabbing his sword and stepped protectively in front of Twilight as unnatural white mist began flowing along the ground towards them.
“Darklight!” A cold voice echoed said from the mists. “I wasn’t expecting to see you, it was clever hiding your scent behind the blood of the Alicorn. Seeing you like this so weak and vulnerable from the venom of my fellow demons, it warms my cold heart.” Darklight raised his sword, and spoke softly.
“I still have enough strength to kill you.” The voice from the mists screeched loudly and flew through the air towards him. Blue flames erupted along the sword’s glasslike blade and Darklight spun in a circle slashing at the mists. The mists retreated and flowed back to their original position.
“You’re lying Darklight! I can sense how weak you are! You’re nothing but an insect waiting to be squished!” Darklight smirked.
“I remember you saying that when Star Swirl forced you into Tartarus.” The mists flew into the air and formed a writhing white orb.
“I’m going to kill you Darklight! For what you did to me two thousand years you’re going to die.” Darklight shrugged.
“I’m right here, waiting.” Garro laughed coldly.
“I’m not just going to kill you, I’m going to completely shatter your soul. I’ve seen your thoughts, I’ve lived your memories, and there’s one painful memory you’re going to have to relive if you want to kill me.” Darklight snarled and raised his sword defiantly, and for the first time Twilight saw him angry.
“Don’t you dare!” Mocking laughter filled the forest and the mists began swirling to the ground forming something physical. When the mists had settled, a large pure white panther with dark emerald green eyes was standing there. “Stop it!” Darklight said in a dangerously low tone.
“Are you willing to kill your sister again?” The panther said in the mists cold voice. “Are you ready to destroy what’s left of your soul?” Darklight gave a feral hiss and ran forward dropping his sword.
“You’re not my sister! And my soul was destroyed long ago!” Darklight leaped Garro and it was like Twilight blinked. One moment Darklight was human, the next a large jet black panther landed in a crouch on the ground. Twilight watched helplessly as the two predators stalked each other in slow circles before lunging at each other in a frenzy of claw and fangs. Twilight didn’t know how to help, she couldn’t just aim the Lost Rune’s power at Garro to stop his heart, what if she hit Darklight. Twilight’s horn glowed and she picked up Darklight’s fallen sword with her magic, and waited for the chance Darklight said he would give her to kill Garro. But Twilight doubted Darklight could last much longer, he was no longer smooth and graceful, the poison in his blood, and the deep cuts on his body had taken their toll and right now he was only fighting defensively. Garro swiped his claws across Darklight’s face blinding him in one eye, before forcing him on his back and biting into his throat. Darklight hissed loudly sending a torrent of shadows from his mouth into Garro’s face, the shadows swarmed around the white panther’s body cutting and slashing at its flesh. Darklight got to his feet and phased back into his human form before leaping onto the demon’s back grabbing it in a chokehold. Shadows formed a knife in his hand and he sliced it across the demon’s throat. Blood spurted through the air and Darklight gripped Garro tightly as the demon began thrashing violently trying to escape. “Twilight! Kill it! Now!” Twilight hesitated and glanced at the sword floating in front of her. She couldn’t kill it. She had never killed anything before. “Twilight! Now!” Twilight barely heard Darklight through her own thoughts. Then Darklight’s earlier words echoed in her mind. “Think of Rainbow Dash and what it would mean for her if you don’t kill this demon.” Twilight screamed and flew forward activating the Lost Rune and sending its power through the sword before stabbing it through the demon’s heart.
“I’m so sorry!” Twilight sobbed pulling the sword free and stabbing the demon. “But I can’t let you hurt my Dashie!” The sword fell from her magical grasp and she hugged the panther’s body sobbing into its chest. “I’m so sorry! Please forgive me!” She felt icy cold tingles rush through her body as Darklight’s arms wrapped around her and her hugged her tightly.
“It’s going to be okay....I’m going to help you through this.”
Twilight sat numbly in the bathtub only vaguely aware of Darklight’s hands washing the blood from her body. Some of it was from the deep lacerations covering Darklight’s body when he had carried her back to the library, but most of it was from the demon she had killed. That memory was the only thing she could think of, it was the only thing that ran through her mind with vivid detail and clarity. The moment Twilight made the decision to kill the demon she had felt something in her very soul change. The moment Twilight stabbed the sword through the demon’s heart and felt it die, she felt something in her die within her. But underneath all the shame, the hurt, and the guilt of taking another life, she felt something else..... Something dark...... Something that wanted to feel the sensation of warm blood spurting against her chest as she took its life. Twilight raised her front hoofs and watched the crimson water drip from them. “What’s happening to me?.....” Darklight paused in the middle of washing her mane.
“You’ve run out of shampoo.” Twilight gestured to her bathroom cupboard.
“There’s some more in there.” Darklight collected a new bottle and poured most of the bottle through Twilight’s wings causing the bathwater to become a darker red. “Thanks for doing this for me.” Darklight shrugged.
“You were in an extreme shocked state, and I couldn’t put you in bed covered in blood......” Twilight rounded angrily on him causing water to spill all over the floor.
“What’s happening to me?!” Darklight sighed and drained the tub before filling it back up with clean water. Twilight wished cleaning her soul would be that easy.
“You’re descending into darkness, there’s no way you can stop it, and Garro won’t be the last demon you kill. Even now you feel the pull to take another life.” Twilight looked down ashamed. “Look at me Twilight.” The Alicorn reluctantly raised her eyes to meet Darklight’s. “Darkness itself isn’t evil, it’s how we use it. Right now you’re thinking of the life you took, you think that makes you a bad pony. But you’re not thinking about the countless lives you’ve saved by killing Garro. Had he been allowed to stay alive he would have killed your friends, and everypony in Ponyville. That’s what makes you different from every other dark creature, you use your darkness to fight for light.” Darklight finished cleaning her wings and gestured for her to step out of the tub. “I’m going to start your lessons the day after tomorrow.” Darklight was silent for a moment before he knelt down in front of Twilight and pulled her into a hug. “I’ve given you a night and a day to prepare yourself for this. I suggest you spend it with your lover and friends, it’s the only light you’re going to experience for a very long time, make the most of it. Get some rest, you’ll need it. I’ll be back when everything’s ready.” Twilight frowned with confusion.
“Where are you going?” Darklight just smirked and gestured to the deep lacerations covering his entire body.
“I need some time to heal and prepare. I won’t be darkening your lives for a while. Take the time to enjoy yourself.’ S hadows swirled around the human and when they dispersed he was gone. Twilight stood there for a moment shivering in the cold air, before drying herself off and walking into her bedroom. Twilight nuzzled Rainbow’s cheek and removed her sleeping spell from her lover’s body. The pegasus yawned and her face broke into a tired smile when she saw Twilight.
“Hey babe.....” Twilight kissed Rainbow and she felt the stress and darkness of the last few hours pour out of her body. Rainbow sighed contently and trailed her hoof down the Alicorn’s back and below her tail. Twilight gasped and used her magic to reverse their positions so Rainbow was standing over her, she felt safe in her lover’s grasp. Rainbow was her sanctuary, her own place she could go to where she could forget about everything and just let go.
“Hold me, Dashie!” Rainbow pulled Twilight tightly against her and ran a comforting hoof through her mane.
“What’s the matter babe? You’re shaking!” Twilight whimpered and snuggled further into Rainbow’s warm embrace.
“Things are changing Dashie. I can feel it. Equestria is about to be thrown into darkness, and none of us are going to be safe anymore....” Twilight choked back a sob and pulled Rainbow as close as she could, closer than she ever had before. “I can’t lose you Dashie. I have to be strong enough to protect you....” Twilight buried her face in her lover’s chest and began crying uncontrollable. “I-I’m doing the right thing. Please tell me I’m doing the right thing.” Rainbow gave her Princess a comforting pat and nuzzled her cheek.
“What are you talking about Twilight?” Twilight sniffled and and wiped her nose against Rainbow’s chest.
“The walls of Tartarus are falling, soon all the ancient evil creatures will be able to escape.....unless we can stop them......permanently...” Rainbow pulled Twilight away so she could look into her eyes.
“What do you mean by “permanently.” Twilight looked away from her lover.
“Darklight believes destroying Tartarus and killing all its inhabitants is the only way to keep Equestria safe.” Rainbow was silent for a moment before snuggling Twilight to her.
“Whatever you decide to do....I’ll be there for you no matter what.” Twilight’s tears soaked Rainbow’s chest.
“I don’t know what to do. I want to keep you safe......” Rainbow gave Twilight’s ear a little flick with her tongue.
“Then keep me safe.”
“But that’ll mean learning dark magic......and killing.” Rainbow made a hushing noise.
“I’d do everything and anything in my power to keep you safe Twilight....”
“Than I’ll do the same for you, Dashie.” Rainbow smiled and kissed Twilight’s tears away, before nibbling the tip of her ear.
“You know.....” Rainbow whispered. “I still owe you a couple of orgasms.....” Twilight giggled and and wiped her nose. Darklight told her she had tonight and tomorrow to herself, and the Alicorn was going to make the best of it. Putting aside all thoughts of darkness, Twilight pulled the covers over them and Rainbow began using her tongue to give Twilight her promised climaxes.
-------------------------------------------
“Right there.......” Rainbow panted as Twilight stuck her tongue deeply into the pegasus’ marehood, before nuzzling her clit with her nose. “I-I’m....Ahhh...C-cumming.” Rainbow moaned deeply and held the back of Twilight’s head and began thrusting her hips driving Twilight’s muzzle deeper into her plot. Twilight herself began moaning as she felt the rune of pleasure mirror her lover’s and she began cumming as Rainbow’s sweet juices flowed into her mouth. Twilight gasped and fell onto Rainbow’s and the pegasus ran a soaking hoof through her mane. “You’re amazing Twilight....” Rainbow panted. “Most orgasms I’ve ever had...” Twilight smiled and licked a string of her juice off of Rainbow’s chin as it began to fall onto her lover’s chest.
“Looks like we set a few academy records of our own.” Rainbow laughed.
“We’ll probably need an early winter wrap to clean this mess up.” Twilight pulled Rainbow protectively into her embrace and nuzzled her neck.
“Why can’t moments like these last forever?.....” Rainbow hummed contently and snuggled further into Twilight’s chest.
“That would be nice. But spending forever covered in each’s cum....” Twilight bopped Rainbow softly on the head.
“Don’t ever change Dashie.”
“Don’t worry babe, I’ll always be yours.” Twilight bit her lip thoughtfully, and she hugged her pegasus a bit tighter.
“Marry me?....” Rainbow stiffened in Twilight’s embrace.
“M-m-marry you?....” Twilight sat up and gazed down at her lover.
“It’s just...we’re always saying how we’ll always be each other’s. Why don’t we make it official? We’ve been together five and a half years now....” Rainbow shifted out of Twilight’s grasp and sat up.
“Yeah. But marriage?....I’m not sure I’m ready for that kind of commitment.....”
“Fine! Forget I said anything about it.” Rainbow chuckled and pulled something from her bedside draw.
“If you had let me finish you egghead. I would have said “I’m not sure I’m ready for that kind of commitment without making it official.” Rainbow opened the jewellery revealing a gold band ring with a purple jewel in its center. Twilight gasped and delicately levitated the ring from its velvet cushioning.
“Rainbow! It’s beautiful. H-how....When did you get this?” Rainbow rubbed the back of her head.
“The last time we were in Canterlot, and you were being all protective of me. I went to a jewelry shop while you were visiting that book store. I was waiting for the perfect moment to give it to you.” Twilight levitated the ring onto her horn and gave Rainbow a kiss before snuggling into her new fiance’s sticky chest. “I love you Twilight. Nothing is ever going to change that.” Twilight snuggled further into Rainbow’s embrace.
“Hold me Dashie.” Rainbow willingly obliged, turning on her side and pulling her lover tightly against her chest. Twilight’s horn glowed and she began tucking the sheets snugly around them with her magic, before grabbing Rainbow’s wing and pulling it over her for extra warmth. “Rarity’s going to flip when she finds out we’re now engaged. I bet she even starts planning our wedding.” Rainbow nuzzled the top of Twilight’s head and nibbled her ear.
“I would prefer you arranged the wedding details, Rarity’s a bit.........”
“Eccentric?” Twilight offered.
“I was going to say extreme, but your word sounds better.” A strong gust of cold wind blew the bedroom window open causing Twilight to shiver and snuggle further into Rainbow’s warm feathers, before closing the window with her magic.
“It’s getting colder,” Twilight whispered. “This is going to be the coldest winter we’ve had for two thousand years.” Rainbow pulled her fiance closer and rubbed Twilight’s back with her wing.
“Don’t worry Sparkles, I’ll always be here to keep you warm.” Twilight yawned tiredly and closed her eyes.
“You always do Dashie.” Twilight said before falling into the realm of dreams.

The next morning Twilight awoke warmer than she ever had been before in the last few days and all Twilight wanted to was stay in bed all day tucked under Rainbow’s warm wing. Unfortunately she remembered Darklight’s words from last night. “I’ve given you a night and a day to prepare yourself for this. I suggest you spend it with your lover and friends, it’s the only light you’re going to experience for a very long time, make the most of it.” Twilight sighed and turned over so she was facing Rainbow who had a small contented smile on her face. She gazed at her lover for a little while before placing her lips softly on Rainbow’s. The pegasus stirred and Twilight deepened the kiss until Rainbow’s eyes slowly opened.
“You know,” Rainbow said when they pulled apart, “it’s supposed to be the princess who wakes up after being kissed.” Twilight smiled and nuzzled Rainbow’s chest.
“Right now you are my Princess. And right now my Princess needs breakfast in bed, and a cup of hot chocolate.” Rainbow smiled mischievously before giving Twilight a small kiss on the nose.
“So, I’m your princess huh? And you’re bringing me breakfast in bed?” Twilight nodded wandering where this was going. Rainbow nuzzled Twilight neck and gave it a small nip with her teeth, causing Twilight to gasp softly. “So....that would kinda make you my maid.....” Twilight’s cheeks reddened as she realized where Rainbow was headed.
“Don’t push your luck Dashie.” Twilight warned. Rainbow chuckled and and traced a hoof down the middle of Twilight’s wings.
“Technically it’s still my turn on top, as you were on top the last two times.” Twilight hid her flaming face behind her wings.
“Come on Dashie, please not the prench maid outfit.” Rainbow’s smile widened and she gestured to the box on the floor.
“But you look so cute in it. Besides I’ve still got to get some payback from the last time you made me wear it.” Twilight groaned, and still covering her face with her wings Twilight levitated the outfit out of the box and bought it over to the bed.
“Enjoy yourself while you can Das.....MMPH!” Rainbow kissed her lover firmly on the lips sliding her tongue past Twilight’s lips, before softly rubbing her clit with a hoof. Twilight and Rainbow both gasped at the contact and Twilight nuzzled Rainbow’s cheek.
“Fine, I’ll wear it, but don’t think I won’t be getting back at you.” Rainbow giggled and shrugged.
“It’ll be worth it watching you make breakfast in that sexy maid outfit.” Twilight grumbled something before stepping off the bed and levitating the prench maid outfit in front of her. Her cheeks became a darker shade of red as she slipped the outfit on and Rainbow began giggling even harder. “Laugh it up Dashie,” Twilight muttered adding the finishing touches to her outfit, “Laugh it up while you still can.” Still giggling Rainbow walked over to Twilight and nibbled her ear.
“You look so adorable right now, there’s only one thing that can make you look even more adorable.” Rainbow walked over to the box and rummaged around in it before returning with a pair of cyan colored panties in her mouth. Twilight levitated them to her and held them up revealing the pegasus’ cutie mark placed strategically on the back of them.
“Really dashie, you want me to wear these as well?” Rainbow nodded. “Guh....fine! But it’s gonna cost you big time missy.” Rainbow smirked.
“Just as long as you get me my breakfast on time.” Twilight glared at her lover and was about to slip the panties on when they fell out of her magical grasp.
“Odd....” Twilight muttered forgetting their role playing for the moment. She tried to pick the panties up again but only a faltering violet aura surrounded the thin piece of blue fabric. “.....What the hay?” Twilight walked over to her desk and was able to levitate a quill for a few seconds before it fell to the floor.
“Are you okay Twilight?” Rainbow asked looking concerned.
“I’m not sure. My magic’s not working for some reason.” Twilight tapped her horn with a hoof and felt her engagement ring. She pulled the ring off and she was able to levitate all the objects in her room. “Interesting..... Apparently placing objects on a unicorn’s horn causes their magic not to work properly.” Rainbow frowned.
“But how will you be able to wear your engagement ring.” Twilight smiled and levitated a piece of string through the ring’s loop and placed it over her neck.
“Now I believe I’ve got some breakfast to make.” Twilight levitated the pair of panties off the floor and bent over giving Rainbow a full full of everything under her skirt before pulling on the panties. Leaving Rainbow with her jaw still on the ground and her wings POMFED all the way up Twilight teleported into the kitchen and began making their breakfast. A few moments later Rainbow Dash walked down the stairs and took a seat at the bench, Twilight turned to her and smirked and asked in a Prench accent. “Would my princess be happy with pancakes for breakfast?” Rainbow snickered and tried to hide it behind her hoof, but she fell off her seat holding her sides in a fit of laughter. Twilight’s cheeks reddened and she couldn’t giggling a bit herself at how ridiculous this situation was.
“That was the funniest thing you’ve ever done Sparkles!” Rainbow said picking herself up off the floor and wiping a few tears from her eyes. “You should totally keep the accent thing going.”
“That’s gonna cost you extra Dashie, are you sure you want to push your luck that far?” Rainbow hesitated before shaking her head.
“You can be pretty evil in your paybacks. Besides I like your normal voice much better.” Twilight smiled and nuzzled Rainbow over the kitchen counter.
“That was so sweet of you to say Dashie. For that you get extra pancakes.” Twilight turned back to the stove and flicked her tail upwards offering Rainbow a brief glimpse of her pantie covered flank. She heard the pegasus inhale sharply and the POMFING of her wings as they shot up in the second wingboner of that morning. Twilight smirked, and as she cooked she made sure Rainbow got teasing glances of her pantie covered plot at regular intervals, at one point she noticed Rainbow’s wings settling down so she flicked her tail upwards completely exposing everything. Once she heard the familiar POMFING of the pegasus’ wings, she placed a plate of pancakes on the bench and nuzzled rainbow’s cheek. “Don’t worry Dashie, you’ll get your dessert soon.” Rainbow smirked and poured syrup over her pancakes.
“You know, being a princess and all, I decide when I should get dessert.”
“Yes, but even royalty can’t have dessert if it’s not ready.” Rainbow paused with second pancake halfway up to her mouth.
“What are you planning Sparkles? This is part of you getting back at me for making you wear the maid’s outfit isn’t it?” Twilight nuzzled rainbow’s neck and sat down next to her finance with a plate of pancakes.
“You’ll find out soon enough Dashie.”
------------------------
“Twilight, Rainbow, we were worried you wouldn’t make it.” Rarity said as the lover’s entered the unicorn’s shop. “Though I must say you two look absolutely adorable wearing that scarf I made you.” Twilight’s horn glowed and she unwrapped the long scarf from around both their necks and tucked it safely in her saddlebags.
“Thankyou Rarity, Dashie and I love it. And thankyou all for coming here on such short notice. I have both good news and what you might consider bad news.” Twilight took a seat at the table and her horn glowed as she pulled out the chair beside her gesturing for Rainbow to sit. As Rainbow sat down a sliver of the Alicorn’s magic ran along Rainbow’s plot causing the pegasus to gasp and clench her back legs together.
“Twilight!” Rainbow exclaimed tucking her tail between her back legs before closing them. Thankfully none of their other friends saw this.
“Yes Dashie?” Twilight asked innocently.
“Thanks for pushing out my seat.” Rainbow muttered. Twilight nuzzled Rainbow’s neck affectionally and nibbled her ear.
“You’re quite welcome Dashie.” Rainbow’s cheeks reddened and Rarity giggled.
“It’s nice to see you two growing so close together.” Twilight’s horn glowed and she levitated her saddlebags over to the table, and Rainbow let out a brief moan as Twilight began to simultaneously rub Rainbow’s clit in circles with her magic.
“Come on Twilight, really?” Rainbow gasped out. Twilight smiled and nuzzled Rainbow once more.
“Of course Dashie, I love you and I want everypony else to know how much I love you.” As Twilight spoke she pushed a thin strand of her magic pushed against Rainbow’s entrance causing the pegasus to shift uncomfortably. “Here it is!” Twilight said forcing the strand of magic into Rainbow’s marehood where it began to vibrate wildly. Rainbow’s wing’s shot up with the loudest POMF Twilight had ever heard, and Rainbow covered up the wingboner by pretending to yawn and stretch out.
“Oh my gosh.” Rarity exclaimed as Twilight held up engagement ring she had pulled from her bag. “Are you two.....”
“Yes, we’re engaged!” Twilight said placing the ring around her neck before releasing both the ring and Rainbow from her magic. Rainbow sighed with relief, and there were murmurs of surprise followed by congratulations from all her friends around the table and Twilight nuzzled Rainbow’s cheek. “I told you I would get you back for making me wear the maid’s outfit this morning.” Twilight whispered. Rainbow gulped as she realized she was in for a long morning.
“Gee Twi, Ah just don’t know what ta say. Not one, but two of my best friends are getting married!”
“Have you figured out when you’re getting married?” Rarity asked.
“This is just so exciting!” Fluttershy said in her soft voice.
“This totally calls for a party!” Twilight’s horn glowed stopping Pinkie from launching her party cannon, and Rainbow clenched her legs together as Twilight’s magic softly caressed her now extremely sensitive marehood.
“I know you’re all excited.....” Twilight smirked and glanced at Rainbow before focusing her magical attentions on massaging her lover’s cutie marks causing the pegasus to half close her eyes and coo approvingly. “.....but before we celebrate our engagement I have to tell you the bad news.”
“Rainbow are you okay sugar cube?” Applejack asked looking at Rainbow with concern. Twilight released both Pinkie’s party cannon and Rainbow from her magic.
“I’m fine.” Rainbow panted wiping a bit of drool from her chin. “Can I use your bathroom, Rares?” Rarity gestured to a door in the back.
“Of course darling, it’s right through there.” Thinking fast Twilight levitated a few books from her saddle bags, and at the same time placed her chastity spell over Rainbow’s marehood making sure the pegasus wasn’t going to get off without her permission. Rainbow stood up leaving a small pool of juices on her chair, and walked to the bathroom using her tail to conceal the glistening juices running down her legs.
“Oh come on!” Rainbow yelled as she dicovered the magical barrier between her hoof and plot, a few moments later she walked out of the bathroom glaring daggers at Twilight who just smirked.
“What’s the matter Rainbow Darling? You look a little tense and frustrated.” Twilight cleared her throat getting everypony’s attention back to her.
“As I was saying before, I’ve got what you might consider bad news.” Twilight took a deep breath. “Darklight has given me one more day to be with you before he starts giving me lessons. I don’t know the specifics of these lessons only that they involve the use of dark magic, and Darklight has explained to me the necessity of these lessons if we are to save Equestria from the evil that is escaping from Tartarus.”
“Hang on a sec sugar cube. Why would you want to learn dark magic?” Twilight sighed and looked away from her friends’ concerned gazes.
“Normally I wouldn’t, but Darklight said the Elements of Harmony aren’t strong enough to deal with such a strong darkness, only a stronger darkness can defeat the evils of Tartarus that are threatening Equestria. I’m going to do this with or without your blessings, but right now I just want to spend my last day of light with all my friends.”
“Well darling, I can see you feel strongly about this and that you’ve made up your mind. We will respect your decision and make the most of what you call your last day of light. I suggest we begin by planning your engagement party for tonight.”
“Excellent idea!” Twilight said her horn glowing as she opened the books on the table, and at the same time she removed Rainbow’s chastity spell, and slid another strand of magic between Rainbow legs. “I’ve already got several reference guides and ideas from these books. I want both you and Pinkie to work together to make this party, half fun, half formal, with just a hint of elegance.” Twilight nuzzled Rainbow’s cheek and began to slowly push the magical shaft deeper into her lover’s marehood. “If that’s okay with you Dashie?” Magical enveloped Rainbow’s clit and began vibrating softly. Rainbow bit back a moan and nodded.
“As long as you’re happy, I’m happy.”Twilight smirked and pulled her magical shaft out of Rainbow before pushing it back in deeper than it was before. Rainbow gasped and almost flew out of her seat.
“Rainbow, you’re more fidgety than a pony sitting on a anthill, what’s the matter darling?” Twilight levitated the books over to Rarity and began pumping the magical shaft in and out of the pegasus’s plot. Rainbow moaned and covered it up with a coughing fit.
“What’s the matter love?” Twilight asked completely straight faced.
“N-nothing....” Rainbow said softly using every ounce of her willpower not to thrust her hips in time with Twilight’s magical thrusts.
“Anyway,” Twilight said angling her magical shaft upward to Rainbow’s G-spot, “I was thinking we could host the party here.....” Twilight thrust the shaft into her lover’s marehood making direct contact with Rainbow’s G-spot.
“Not here!” Rainbow blurted out, and everypony looked at her, “It’s just....Gah!....I don’t think Rarity will have enough time to put away all her fabric and outfits......”
“Quite right darling. Sorry Twilight but I simply can not afford to get any food or drink on this new fashion line I’m working on.” Twilight bit her lip thoughtfully before levitating a map of ponyville from her saddlebags and placed down the books she previously had in her magical grasp.
“How bout there?” Twilight asked rubbing the shaft against Rainbow’s clit as she pointed to a spot on the map. Rainbow moaned and practically slid out of her seat.
“Right there’s perfect...” Rainbow cooed. Rarity’s eyes narrowed and she glanced between the two of them, her gaze running over Twilight’s lit horn, and Rainbow’s twitching wings as they struggled to POMF out in a wingboner. Twilight noticed Rarity’s prolonged attention over them and noticed the blush that contrasted vividly through her white fur. Twilight’s own cheeks reddened but she didn’t stop her magical attentions on Rainbow.
“Twilight darling, would you mind helping me make some snacks to eat while we plan yours and Dashie’s engagement party?” Rarity asked standing up and walking to the kitchen. Twilight followed after carrying the map with her, and when they were safely out of sight from their friends the unicorn rounded on Twilight. “I understand you two have particular tastes in your sex lives,” Rarity whispered intently. “And while I’m happy to make the outfits for your little bedroom games, I draw the line at you bringing those games into my shop especially when we have our friends here.” Twilight’s whole face reddened and she looked down at the ground. “I’ll let you get away with it today, but stop teasing the poor thing. Your fiance looks like she’s ready to rut the first thing that moves, now let’s gets these snacks ready.” Seven minutes later the two ponies walked out of the kitchen and they stopped mid-step when they returned to the table, their jaws hitting the ground. From here they could see under the table and Rainbow was directly in front of their line of sight. The pegasus was on the edge of her seat with her back legs spread open revealing the substantial pool of Rainbow’s juices dripping onto the seat and floor, as Twilight’s violet magic teased Rainbow’s clit and marehood. “I just had the floor polished.” Rarity murmured, her whole face now a beet red.
“There ya two are. We were just talking about how we’re going ta decorate sugar cube corner for Twilight’s and Rainbow’s engagement party.”
“And while you guys are decorating I’ll be making some super duper treats for the party! This is just so exciting! Don’t you agree Dashie!” The pegasus nodded.
“Very exciting.” Rainbow gasped trying to sound like she wasn’t in a world of orgasmic pleasure. Twilight took pity on her finance and released Rainbow from her magical teasing. Rarity gave the Alicorn princess a brief glare.
“You and I are going to have a very long conversation about appropriate times and places to buck your fiance.” Rarity muttered walking to the table and placing the plates of snacks down. Twilight did the same and sat down red faced.
“You are so cruel!” Rainbow whispered. “You could have at least finished the job. I’m dripping wet down there.”
“So how ‘bout it?” Applejack asked getting their attention. “You two happy ta have your engagement party being held at Sugar Cube Corner.”
“That would be perfect, are you okay with that Dashie?” Rainbow nuzzled Twilight’s chest.
“Just as long as you’re happy babe.”
“Then it’s settled darlings. We’ll prepare Sugar Cube Corner for your engagement party, it’ll take most of the afternoon but if we start now we should be able to pull it off.” Rarity’s horn glowed and she began collecting the snacks off the table and placing them in some picnic baskets. The unicorn also discreetly dropped a damp cloth in Rainbow’s lap causing the pegasus to give a small eep.
“That’s for cleaning up the mess you two made.” Rarity whispered as she walked by. Rainbow’s mouth dropped open and her cheeks flamed brightly.
“She knew what we were doing?” Rainbow whispered. Twilight nodded.
“Apparently I wasn’t discreet enough.” The Alicorn murmured. “Now try not to squirm too much.” Twilight’s horn glowed and she began packing the books into her saddle bags, and at the same time she used the cloth to wipe rainbow’s crotch clean.
“Twilight......” Rainbow gasped as delicious sensations spread through her marehood. Twilight nuzzled Rainbow’s cheek before kissing her softly on the mouth.
“Don’t worry babe almost done.” Twilight slid the cloth over Rainbow’s plot once more before cleaning the juices off the pegasus’ legs. “All done Dashie, now stand up so I can clean the chair.” Rainbow whimpered.
“I don’t suppose you’re going to get me off anytime soon?” Twilight nibbled the top of Rainbow’s ear.
“I will babe, just be patient
(more coming soon)
