History Hurts

Fluttershy flew as fast as her wings could go.

She needed to get to Rainbow Dash's house, and fast. She was afraid if she waited too long she would collapse and sob. But no she needed to be strong, it was probably nothing and the dream is just a phase. But why did she have a feeling in her stomach that told her to keeping on flying and never turn back. The feeling was getting stronger but now her face was darkening by the second, this thing, this feeling, was making her think.

'Why should I be going through this?! I've never been anything but kind to every pony! And for ponies to treat me like I'm worthless even tough I go through all these things it's just-' she thought.

She groaned in frustration and finally landed at Rainbow Dash's cloud.

All the feelings were now replaced with sadness.

She raised her hoof and knocked on the cloud door. It was a soft knock but to her it was loud and it felt like a drum was banging in her head as she knocked. The door opened to a annoyed looking Rainbow Dash but the annoyance was replaced with a bright smile.

"Hey Flutters! What's up- uh Fluttershy are you okay?" She asked with concern.

"Uh um yeah! I'm perfectly fine!" She lied, "But I do need to t-tell you something..." She continued.

Rainbow backed up to let Fluttershy in, but Rainbow had a curious look on her face.

"So uh what do you need to talk about?" Rainbow Dash asked as Fluttershy and her sat down on opposite sides of the couch.

Fluttershy looked at Rainbow nervously, she didn't know where to start.

"Well, do you remember the-" she gulped "t-the f-fire?" She finally said.

"Of course, how could I forget?" Rainbow Dash said looking at Fluttershy with a sad smile.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that... You-you used to be a great and fast flyer, then that fire... It destroyed you. I remember you waking up at the hospital and the doctor saying that you clipped you wing. Is this what this whole thing is about-" rainbow Dash said but was interrupted by an angry Fluttershy.

"NO! WHY WOULD I BE CRYING TO YOU ABOUT THAT?! MY WING IS CLIPPED AND I'VE ACCEPTED IT A LONG TIME AGO!" Fluttershy snapped as she began to sob.

"Woah Flutters! I'm sorry! What's wrong?!" Rainbow Dash asked slowly looking for a place to hid if Fluttershy went into rage.

"I never told you this but...during that fire my m-mom...d-died." Fluttershy stuttered. She slowly began to sob into her delicate hooves.

"B-but Fluttershy, you told me you never had a mom..." Rainbow Dash spoke in a whisper.

"Well, every pony else has a mother and what do I have?! Nothing! That's what! My father didn't even love my or my mom enough to stay!" She snapped. She was filled with rage and sadness. She didn't know what to do with her hooves so she roughly put them into her mane and sobbed enough more loud.

"I'm so sorry..." Rainbow Dash said. She suddenly felt guilty, she always had a father that loved her and cared for her mother. Her mother was always out of town but would come back home at the end of each day to shower her with love. She felt horrible that she always had been rubbing it into Fluttershy's face whenever she would tell her about family reunions.

Fluttershy saw the guilt in Rainbow Dash's eyes and suddenly felt guilty herself, she had snapped and yelled at her best friend. Rainbow didn't deserve this. But then Fluttershy suddenly realized something.

'Rainbow Dash had everything as a child, even now she still does! She deserves every last bit of this!' Fluttershy thought to herself, her face was growing darker and more rage was put on her face.

"I don't want your pity..." Fluttershy said in a disgusted tone. She got up from the couch suddenly feeling stupid for coming here. She headed to the door not looking back. She opened the door and left.

Rainbow Dash had tears in her eyes. Did she just lose a friend? No! Fluttershy is just going through a phase she shouldn't be worried about anything! Fluttershy would be okay by the end of the week. She had nothing to be worried about, or did she?

Fluttershy was now walking back to her cottage, it was dark out and Fluttershy was growing tired suddenly feeling the exhaustion from her fly. She was feeling rage and sadness, did she just yell at her best friend? Even though she was the one to go over there, she still yelled at her innocent friend. But then the rage came back, but she rubbed her 'little happy family' in her face for so long, she deserved it! Fluttershy didn't know what to think anymore, she never really yelled at any pony, she just wanted to talk to some pony that understood her. But she wished she could undo everything that she said in her conversation with Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy remembered the look of sympathy on Rainbow Dash's face, and she yelled at her for doing so. She felt horrible and just wanted to go to sleep, she was growing suddenly very grumpy.

"Fluttershy...?" A familiar voice called out to Fluttershy.

Fluttershy turned around to a smiling Rarity.

"Oh hello Rarity." Fluttershy said in a tired voice.

"Oh darling you look exhausted! Come here, come here dear! It is a long walk to your cottage, how bout you spend the night her?" Rarity asked with a smile.

Fluttershy was grateful that she didn't have to walk all the way home, it was cold outside since it was winter but she was also grateful that she didn't have to be alone tonight.

"Thank you Rarity." Fluttershy said automatically when Rarity asked her question.

Rarity smiled a 'Your Welcome' smile and invited Fluttershy into her house.

"Let me bring you some tea. Just make yourself at home!" Rarity offered.

"Oh no that's fine Rarity, I just want to sleep." Fluttershy quickly said just wanting to rest.

"Of course! Let me show you to your room." Rarity said leading Fluttershy to the guest room.

Fluttershy entered the room and said her thank you again to Rarity. Once she was alone in the room she collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep.
