It was a standard day in Ponyville. The sun hung in the sky and only a few clouds were scattered around. The birds sang in the tall beautiful trees that stood up tall, pointing up at the vast light blue emptiness.

The residents of the small peaceful town were just finishing up their daily chores. Everypony was going to spend the rest of the day hanging out with each other or resting.

A white coated unicorn with two white thin stripes in her black mane had entered Ponyville. She never set hoof here before, but she had heard stories of the town. Her name was Bullet Storm.

A rifle was holstered next to her saddle bags, which was resting on her back. She wore steel armor, which had gotten rather uncomfortable on her journey.

For the past several days, she had been traveling. As the sun would descend into the horizon, she would set up a campfire and rest. This was the first town that she had come across in days. There was no way she was going to pass it by. She needed a proper bed, at least for a few days, or until she was hired by another merchant.

Her previous customer had decided to end his career and settle down with his loved one. She had wandered around Equestria aimlessly when she was relieved of her services. Her main goal was to find a new customer. She had never really planned on settling down, mostly because she hadn't found the right pony. The other reason was because being a bodyguard was her talent. Shooting things was what she was good at.

The residents of Ponyville paid no attention to their new visitor, and she paid no attention to them. All she wanted to do was get to the nearest inn and order a room... maybe even order a few drinks. She wanted to get completely wasted... just for tonight.

Eventually, she reached her destination. She stepped inside the building known as "Hoofington's Inn" and sat at the counter. The owner of the inn looked at her and the gear she wore quietly as she fished some gold coins out of her saddle bag with her magic.

"Is this enough for a room?" She asked, dropping a few coins onto the counter.

"For a few nights, yeah." The colt replied, dragging the money toward him. "Upstairs, second room on the right. That'll be your room."

She stood up and walked to her rented room, using her magic to take all her gear off, starting with the gun, then the saddle bags, and then the armor. She set them all down beside the bed, which she collapsed on soon after. Now was time to sleep. She was too exhausted to drink right now.

Hours later, she awoke to the sounds of drunken cheers. She tried sleeping more, but it wasn't possible. The inn was just too noisy. She tried pressing the pillow against her ears.

Nope. That didn't work.

She stood up and let out an exasperated sigh, walking toward the entrance to the hall; a dozen coins floating beside her. If she couldn't make them shut up, she may as well join them rather then be pissed off throughout the rest of the day.

She went downstairs and approached the counter, ordering a drink and placing a coin on the surface.

The colt took the coin and started preparing her drink.

Sitting beside Bullet Storm were two mares having the time of their life and getting drunk off their mind. One of them was a unicorn with a pink mane and an extremely pale blue coat. She had three piercings on her left ear. A bottle of alcohol levitated to her muzzle and the contents poured into her mouth.

The other was a pegasus with a light blue mane, purple eyes, and a white coat. A red neckerchief was hanging around her neck. Her cutiemark showed a blue berry with wings.

The bartender pushed the bottle of beer over to Bullet Storm. She wrapped the light of her magic around the bottle and started drinking. Something that really bummed her out was that everypony here knew each other... and she knew no one. She was alone here.

When she finished one bottle, she requested a second one. When she finished that one, she requested a third.

When she started moving on to her fifth, that's when the two ponies beside her started noticing.

"CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG!" The Pegasi yelled.

Bullet Storm put the bottle down and sighed.

"What are you doing!? Your not chugging!"

"I'm not chugging because I don't want to." Bullet Storm said.

The pegasi frowned. "Your no fun."

"Hey." Her friend spoke in a drunken slur. "Y-You gonna drink that...? Cause I wouldn't mind taking it."

Bullet Storm grabbed the bottle and started drinking again. She set it down once she finished getting a few gulps of her beverage. "No."

"No, your... not going to drink it?"

"No, I... Oh for fucks sake!" She shouted. "No, I AM going to drink it!"

"Okay! Okay!" The unicorn said. "No need to get all pissed off over it."

Bullet Storm returned to her drink, but the pegasi didn't stop looking at her. Ponyville's new visitor noticed this by looking through the corner of her eyes. Finally, she looked back at her.

"I don't think I ever saw you around here before." The pegasi stated. "Are you new here?"

"Yes."

"What's your name?"

"Bullet Storm." A look of guilt grew on her face. "Look, sorry about freaking out like that. I just had a pretty bad time the past few days."

The pegasi smiled. "Oh that's okay!" She reached out her forehoof. "My name is Sky Berry. My friend is Volta."

Bullet Storm bumped her hoof against Sky's and smiled.

"Show me the way to go home!" Volta started singing in her slurred tone. The other two ponies looked over. "I'm tired and I wanna go to bed!" She went to reach for her bottle but it was knocked over. "I had a drink about an hour ago! And it went straight to my head!" She hiccuped once and then slammed her head against the counter, passed out.

Sky Berry laughed. "Looks like I'll have to carry her home tonight." She got up from the bar stool and hoisted Volta's body onto her back. "It was nice talking to you, Bullet. Hope we meet again."

"Yeah. I'll look forward to it."

Sky Berry walked out of the inn with her friend on her back.

Bullet Storm finished her drink and stumbled back to her room.

Author's Note

So after a year, I finally decided to start writing mlp fics again. I've gotten better at writing thanks to tons of practice, but I still feel like this first chapter could've been done better. The title could be better too. But I couldn't think of anything.

Well, you know what they say. Your always your own worst critic.

Anyways, enjoy. Also, please tell me what you think of the story so far. It'll help motivate me to continue.
