She had had a grueling day of work. Three orders of dresses, a tux, and some special event outfits. It was all very tiring. She removed her rose colored glasses, revealing her ice blue eyes and eyeliner. She was a white, unicorn, mare with an elegantly styled curly purple mane and tale, and her cutie mark was three blue diamonds.
She heaved a sigh of relief, glad that her day of work had come to an end. Just then she heard the bell from her front door, signifying that it had been opened. She grunted with annoyance before fixing herself to look proper and donning a large smile and heading out front.
“Welcome to carousel boutique, where everything is chique, unique, and ma-” she cut herself off as she saw the near herculean stallion standing before her. His body was slender but not like a twig. He was muscular but not overly so. And everything about him, from the way he carried himself, to the way his main and tail were styled, practically screamed gentle-colt. “Magnifique!”
“Excuse me?” said the stallion a look of confusion on his face
“Oh! My apologies my name is-”
“Rarity” he finished “the famous designer who has become well-known amongst those in the fashion industry. Yes, I know.” He took her hoof in his and bowed a bit giving it a gentle kiss. “Enchanté”
She silently squeed with girlish enthusiasm. He knows my name!
“So, what can I help you with Mister-” she stopped prompting him to give his name… He didn’t.
“Oh, I was just passing bye when I saw your exquisite designs!” He said, lifting a piece of a dress to observe the detailed stitching. “This is expert craftsmanship! How much does this sell for?”
“Oh it goes for about 80 bits for a standard dress. The most expensive one I've ever made was worth around 500 bits.” she said with a smile happy to see him take an interest in her work.
She didn't see it but he had glanced over at a magazine cover from the ones she kept in the lobby for her waiting customers. On it was a fairly extravagant dress that was labeled: ~Dress of the year worth 5000 bits!~ From that, as well as from the prices of other products he had seen on the way there, he was able to figure out a rough estimate of how something’s worth was calculated here.
“Nonsense!” He Exclaimed. ”these are worth at least 2000 maybe more!”
She blushed furiously at his compliment “Yes well… That’s just the kind of mare I am.”
He chuckled at that. “Yes, I suppose so. I expect no less from the element of generosity. If I ever have any fashion needs in the future I know who to call. So long then!” he said saluting before exiting through the door.
“Au revoir!" she said waving a forehoof. As he left, she threw the same hoof over her forehead with a great, dramatic, sigh, before falling onto one of her sofas. I think I'm in love!
As she lay there, fantasizing about this new mystery stallion, she realized what he had said. “How does he know about the elements?”
