A New World; A Nephilims Tale
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryIn a dark forest, a strange rift started to appear, it was small at first till it grew and open up into a portal, a lone Unicorn stallion came out of it with a katana next to him and few other guest, but they flew away, the pony had tan fur, black shaggy mane and tail, wearing a white tank top, a red stone necklace and a red worn out trench coat, he lay on the ground at the edge of the forest, heavily wounded, he would let out a few loud groans of pain, but didn't move.
A Unicorn mare was taking a walk back from the town nearby with bread in hoof so to speak as she trotted back to her home. Her home was a quaint little cottage just beyond the forest. She didn't care much for regular pony folk so she took residence just beyond them. Her use and form of magic were simply just at most too much for them to comprehend. Her brilliant white tail and mane seemed to glow in the moon light as she began to approach home, It would appear to just be another night.
However there seemed to be a pony laying just on the outskirts of town blocking her path. "Hello?" she asked hearing her own voice cheerfully run past the pony, "Hello? Are you alright?" she ask once more as she looks him over.
The stallion groans in pain to her respond, his whole body was screaming at him to not make any movement, but he knew he had to move and get medical treatment, he could feel the cuts on his chest and back, reopen and would get infected, since his brothers sword cut of his healing factor for the time been, he was normal, but could still fight, if he was still at full strength or half "no" he said, his voice sounding weak and in pain, he try to lifted himself up, but his body screams more to not move, all he could do was let out a grunt of pain, he move his head slightly to his right to see his brothers katana, laying next to him "am not alright......please help" he groans out through the pain he was feeling.
The mare looked over his wounds for a moment, deciding that they were not harmful enough to transport him to her home she lifted him in her hooves and carried him away. She mentally went over a list of herbs she had stored away 'Oh gosh you certainty are a heavy one to move aren't you?' she thought as she carries him.
She didn't mind so much, her usual clients were passed out drunkards. The pony glanced down as she neared her home, 'You don't make much noise and I presume that these marks are not that of a drunken brawl.......' her thoughts trailed off as she drug the half limp body into her home.
Laying the stallion on her floor she hurried to her kitchen frantically digging for her ingredients. She returned mixing a paste, bending over the unknown pony she breathed "This may sting for a moment." as she rubbed the paste over his wounds.
The stallion let out a low groan pain, but didn't flinch, he just lay still for a while, till he slowly open his eyes, that flash from demonic red, to angelic blue and finally ocean blue, his vision was still blurry "ugh....where...am I?" he ask to anypony that save him, since he could feel himself on hard wood and he heard hoofsteps coming towards him, he strain to move his head towards the pony that save him, his nose twitch as he smell the medicine now 'so either in a hospital or someponies house that found me and is helping me' he thought, his vision slowly clearing.
"tat ta taaaa." the mare sang out "you mustn't move.. Now I know it may sting but please bear with me. You are in my home and while under my care you will live to see another day, although I am not sure what that day has in store for you it leaves me with a lot to do" for hours she hummed and hawed over the pony making sure he would be alright. "You know, you are lucky that I found you. You almost crawled away from any help" she said, the only respond she got was a groan.
The stallion groans and slowly open his eyes again, blinking a few times to get the drowsiness from his system, coming face to face with a ceiling, soon memories of before came 'oh right, I was rescue, but by who is the question' he thought and looks around till his eyes settle to look at a beautiful mare and notice that she haven't notice him awake yet.
Will he looks at her, his eyes did a quick scans around him, he could tell that he was in a cabin and by the looks of it, her cabin and he could still smell some medicine to which he concluded that she is a doctor of a kind.
She let out a small sigh as she finished her work and lay down next to him. "I am going to watch over you for a little while, if you need anything let me know" this was the oddest case she had seen in a while, certainly not the oddest, however she lay next to him intrigued one what he would say when he awoke next.
He groans and looks at her, he still felt a bit drowsy and blurted out "are you the angel that rescue me?" he ask, his voice sound a bit more normal, but was deep and soft in a way, his eyes shine a bit with an ocean like color, looking at her. The mare rolled over laying a hoof upon the injured pony. "Shhhhh. Yes I rescued you, however, you can tell me all about that in the morning. You need to begin to heal" she whispers softly to him.
Several days seemed to pass on, the mare would step out and deal with life but always came back home to her wounded pony. No guest stayed this long, however no guest seemed to be injured in this way. It was no longer about if she could heal him, she saw his wounds begin to heal it became a question of what was going on, she was covering his wounds in more paste when absent mindlessly she asked "what can I do to help you? Who are you?" she ask curiously at the stallion.
He had his tank top and coat off, only having his necklace on while she puts on him some kind of paste, this pass day it help him and he could feel his powers and energy slowly coming back to him, he also notice his brothers katana and quickly hides it in his cutie mark like seal a few days back, so now he was sitting on the floor, letting her put on more paste on him, till he heard her question "who am I? I can answer, names Dante and what your doing, his helping me and my body, heal faster" he said to her, smiling a bit, he looks towards her "and you, what's your name?" he ask her, looking at her in the eyes.
She smiled a slightly, "my name? My name is not important to you. I am here only to heal you and send you back on your way. I matter not "
bowing her head she sat in shame, "I will not ever matter, do not kid yourself, for I don't even matter here. Why would somepony like you remember me when no pony else will?" she ask as tears glistened in the corners of her eyes as she spoke. Shaking her head she began to apologize, "I .. I am sorry" she stuttered attempting to clear her throat "I didn't mean to dismiss you so, it's just been a rough while."
He looks at her, his eyes turning into a soft angelic blue, looking deep into the mare's eyes, seeing her dismiss his question and say she didn't matter 'must have been a rough life, if she thinks she's not worth something' he thought "and yet am asking for your name, cause I can't thank you, if I don't know the name of the mare that took me in and his healing me back to health" he told her softly, his tone sounding soothing.
He moves a hoof and gently wipes her tears away "there's no need to be sorry, it's okay" he said, smiling at her, he may not know her, but he could tell she was hiding her pain and that wasn't good for her.
She closed her eyes and leans on his hoof, feeling the warm of his hoof, as more tears flow down her cheek, she let a small smile and looks at him "my.........my name..........my name is Veera" she said to him, Dante smiles at her "well is nice to meet you Veera, my name is Dante" he said with a grin.
