A Collection of Shorts

2- Celestia in the afterlife.

Purpose: I’m not sure, but this is the scene that flashed through my mind.

*edit* assumes the pony killed themselves. Turns out there is an afterlife after all, but no one told me it would be like this. After countless days of wading through fire lakes, endless darkness, freezing cold, and all other manner of unpleasantness, there was a break. I saw a bright light and it called to me. When i got there I found that it was indeed who i thought it was, but I couldn’t believe it. Standing before me was Celestia herself. I moved closer through the black fire and tried to hold in my screams of pain as i drew near. At first I thought it was a trick of this hellish life, but when i got close, there was a bubble that blocked the flames from me. My skin returned to normal, no longer charred. I breathed my first breath of real air in forever and it felt amazing. I looked up to see the regal form gazing down upon me and i flinched in response. I looked down at the ground and dared not to speak.

After a time Celestia addressed me and asked me some questions... why i was here, how I got here, and if i was ready to be given another chance to redeem myself. I saw my shameful life pass before my eyes. I looked up at her and shed a single tear. She watched it fall from my cheek as though she could see everything I had done inside it as if it was a crystal ball, showing her everything she wished to see.

After a short time passed I agreed to go back, but there was a price. I had to make up for my past. The price was heavy, but the reward would be great if I succeeded. I woke up and found myself in a hospital bed, the first thing i noticed were the cuts across my arms. I hid them in shame. I tried to remember what I was supposed to do, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t remember anything except that I had been given a second chance... and it was up to me to find out why.

*a side note, I imagine Celestia intervening at key moments in this pony’s life and guiding him/her on his/her way to redemption.*
