Prologue: Musings of Nothing
What defines our existence?
What says we truly live?
Is it fate?
Is it death?
What defines us, and our confusing existence?
Life comes and goes, a fleeting concept many seek to best but wind up succumbing to. Taken by the flowing rapids of fate and circumstance from the peaceful void, in a movie directed by a sadistic higher power for naught but endless amusement at the price of innocent pain. We cannot escape the grasp of fate, the circle of life and death. To do so, is to ascend beyond the parameters laid out for mortal existence, or something of the sort. I have seen and cease to understand the frailty and anguish of existence if it is to be defined as being mortal. How can I, when I have reached far beyond mortal parameters? I have left existence behind, to obtain a power few could hope to comprehend.
Tell me something young colt. Should you be faced with the chance to break through the limitations of mortality or even existence itself, would you take it? All the possibilities laid out before you, and all with desirable outcomes. To deny this, is to embrace the foolish morality and ideals of the mortal races. Morality, pride, and false ideals chain us down, hold us back from attaining a means of breaking away from a hellish god’s grasp.
Break through the bonds of mortality.
See past the veil of fate.
Transcend the limits of mortal existence, and embrace a true fateless peace.
Seek out an existence of Nothing, where the false god cannot reach.
Come back to the Nothing.
Come back home, Ebon Gleam.
