A Philly Princess
Chapter 2
Previous ChapterChapter 2
Celestia spent dessert explaining things about me as she ate her… Mar-Ma. A cake with a bunch of M’s in its name. She loved the cake in a way that almost scared me. A few minutes after she was done I was outside with the other ponies. We all watched her get into her chariot and then the rest of the cake was loaded. She waved a hoof as she flew away and we all waved back. After a minute of Twilight saying goodbye to her friends, Twilight and I were left alone outside. She motioned for me to follow and we began to walk. One of the few things I enjoyed to do in Canterlot was to fly. I had gotten fairly good at it and wanted badly to stretch my wings. I didn’t however because I felt it wouldn’t be “lady like” to do it when I was walking with a Unicorn pony.
After several minutes we arrived at a tree. It all seemed odd, but then I noticed the door, windows and balcony. Twilight walked right up to the door and walked inside of the tree. I followed thinking this was very strange. When I got inside it looked more like a library then a house. The walls were made into shelves and on the shelves sat thousands of books. Twilight called up a set of stairs, “Spike we’re home.” A moment later a baby dragon started to come down the stairs! A baby dragon! “Oh hey Twilight.” He said as he started down the stairs. When he got to the bottom of the stairs he looked at me and then to Twilight and said “Is this the Princess?” “Yes it is Spike. Meet Princess Red Tail.” Twilight responded. I decided I best reply and my horn started to glow, “Hi.” Spike started to look really excited and let out an equally excited reply, “So it is true! You can use your magic to talk!” I gave a small nod and Twilight spoke up, “Oh, Spike did some pony drop off the Princess’s things?” “They sure did. It’s already up on her bed” Spike’s reply had a sense of pride. “Oh that’s right! Princess you will be sleeping up here where me and Spike sleep. That also reminded me that Princess Celestia wanted me to get you to bed early since you have school tomorrow.” After Twilight finished, Spike and her started to go up the starts which he had just come down. I followed them both upstairs keeping a little behind Twilight. When I reached the top I noticed that there were two beds and a basket with a blanket inside. One of the beds was neatly made and had my saddle bag on top. The other was not quite as neat but still made up. But then I noticed there was no bed for the Dragon and that he was getting inside of the basket. Had I stolen his bed? I didn’t want to steal a Dragons bed, especially one that was actually nice! I quickly pushed my magic towards Twilight, “Did I take his bed? If so I can sleep on the floor.” Twilight looked at me and smiled, “No you didn’t take his bed he always sleeps in the basket.” I turned around to see the small dragon already sleep in his basket. Twilight walked closer to him and used her magic to pull the blanket over him, “Good night Spike”. I got onto the bed with my bag on it and opened up it up. Inside the first pouch were my school supplies. I closed that side and opened up the other one, inside was my diary, favorite gown and my tiara that I never wore. It was strange seeing it in there. I had gotten to design it myself. I chose a simple design made from silver instead on gold. It had one small ruby in the front center but besides that looked rather plain. I closed up the pouch it was in and set my saddle bag beside the bed. I then slid into bed and used my magic to pull the covers around myself. My eyes felt heavy as I looked over at Twilight who was getting into her bed as well. I hadn’t noticed before but now I saw that she looked very tired. The light went off as her horn began to glow and then stop. I laid my head on my pillow and my eye lids started to feel even heavier. My world seemed to disappear as I could no longer keep my eyes open.
