The Lemon Pie Daily
Getting the First Story
Previous ChapterLemon Zest and Pinkie Pie met back up at Pinkie's house after they gathered the supplies they would need. A typewriter, a camera, plenty of paper, an example newspaper, etc. They set their stuff on a round table and sat down, trying to look business-like. But, of course, they were just too excited and gave up. A minute of silence went by.
"Soooo...any ideas?" Lemon asked awkwardly.
"I guess we could first just interview each other." Pinkie shrugged. She picked up the camera. "You want to be interviewed first?"
"What are you going to use that for. It's a newspaper! You can't put videos on it!"
"It's for pictures. All newspapers have pictures!"
Lemon set up the typewriter and put paper in it so they could type up the interview. She wrote "THE LEMON PIE DAILY" at the top of the paper.
"Interviews are boring. We need a more exciting idea." Lemon told Pinkie. "Like me saving a cat from a tree or something."
"Or an alligator!" Pinkie literally screamed. She zipped out of the room. Lemon was totally clueless.
Pinkie reappeared in the room, this time with Gummy, her pet alligator. Lemon suddenly noticed what Pinkie was talking about.
"Pinkie, don't even think about it. You know I'm afraid of heights!" Pinkie smiled mischievously.
"Ahhhhh!" Lemon screamed, stranded on the branch of a tree. "Pinkie Pie, this is the worst idea ever!! I was joking about the tree thing!" Right across from her on the other branch was Gummy, just standing there, blinking silently.
"Don't worry!" Pinkie laughed. "I left these pillows down here just in case! Now go and save Gummy!"
Lemon gulped then inched towards the baby alligator, the branch shaking beneath her. She grabbed Gummy. "How do I get him down?" She realized that there was no ladder or any way down at all.
"Oh. I forgot about that." Pinkie admitted. "Give me a second! I gotta go get a ladder!" She bounced inside her house in search of a ladder.
Meanwhile, Lemon tried to calm herself down, clinging to a branch. "Come on, Lemon Zest. You won't fall. You won't fall. And if you do, there are pillows to catch you." She looked down at the flat, stiff pillows. "Don't look down!!!"
