Day 6: The Movie, by Fluttershy

Spike, write this for me please… if you’d like to, that is...

Hi, I’m Fluttershy, and I take care of animals in my cottage, and… stuff. I, um, feed them and help them get better when they're sick and… ah… all that stuff.

(I’m so nervous!)

I got a letter from 611th doctor of ‘W.H.O’ (World Health Organization), D-Doctor Fan. It’s the same letter my friends got. He is basically asking me to… um… write a story about myself to him. Twilight wrote about the time she gave a book to Ditzy, Applejack wrote about the time she had a wheat-worm infestation, Rainbow Dash wrote about the time she survived a major fire at the Wonderbolt stadium (and I’m glad she’s okay), Rarity wrote about a horrible date she had a few weeks ago, and Pinkie Pie wrote about… I honestly still can’t get what she wrote about (no offence! I’m sorry! I hope I didn’t hurt you in anyway…)

So, I guess it’s my turn, s-sense you asked me too. It’s okay if you don’t like, j-just please don’t be angry…

Your Humble Writer,

-Fluttershy

I curled up in a corner in the corner of my cottage, s-scared of what was going to happen next. I shacked in my hooves.

Knock, knock, knock, knock

I froze.

Knock, knock, knock, knock

I started to cry, now completely scared. I thought I was going to die.

Knock, knock, knock, knock

“Fluttershy? Fluttershy? You’ve been gone for a week, I’m worried about you… Fluttershy…?”

“Happy Birthday, Fluttershy!” said all my friends, together at once. Twilight and Spike, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, even Pinkie Pie were all there, and brought their pets too; Owlicious, Waroona, Tank, Opalescence, and Gummy. Angel was there too- the cutest, sweetest little bunny… well, mostly… I hope you don’t think I’m not saying anything mean about him. If you do, then I’m sorry.

So, anyway, as you already know, it all started on my Birthday. Like any other Birthday, we had cake, danced to music, played pin-the-tail-on-the-pony, and opened presents. T-that last part was what started it all. Twilight got me a new book on peacocks, Applejack got me a apple-themed blanket for my sick hyena, Rainbow Dash got me a new pair of flying-goggles, Rarity sewed me a n-nice, white sun-dress, and Pinkie Pie got me a movie ticket. That last gift, the movie ticket, that was what started it all. Because if I h-handn’t got that ticket in the first place, none of this in my story would have happened.

The day after that happened, I decided to spend my one ticket and see myself a movie. S-sometimes, I can use a break. I had Spike watch over my animals while I went to see the movie.

I walked in, turned my ticket in, and took a seat and waited for the movie. I had no idea w-what movie the ticket was for, a-and I should had checked f-first. B-but the movie played, and it was too late…

“W-what are you…?”

“We are the Ood.”

“An… Ood…?”

“Your song is ending, Tailor. It is ending very soon.”

“What does that even mean!?”

“Your song is ending, and it will end now- when she will knock four times.”

“What are you-”

Knock, knock, knock, knock

“What…- wait... what are you doing…? What are you…- NOOO!!!!”

***

It w-was a really… scary… movie… I wanted to run, I wanted to leave, but I couldn’t move. Because when Suit Tailor was told by a wise librarian that his song was ending, he ran away, and eventually was told again and again, until a pony knocked four times, a-and… epp, I don’t even want to talk about the last part… it’s just way too scary. I was frozen in my chair the whole time, silently, more scared than I had ever been in my whole life. A-and I’ve been scared of a lot of things. Eventually, the theater staff had to pull me out of my chair, and carried me out like I was a statue. I was frozen like one anyway.

After I was thrown out, I finally decided to get up and walk home. I-I was in the theater all day, so it was d-dark out. I was a bit scared of the dark, but at that time I was even more scared than ever. And an Ood might of found me! I turned around, and cried,

“Please! Please let me back in!” but then they told me,

        “No, we’re closed. Go home.”

So I had to brave through the dark… a-and… i-it wasn’t… easy…

“~T-there’s music in the tree-tops… th-there’s m-music in th-the v-vail…~” I sang to myself, trying to k-keep myself brave. But every single time I heard the wind howl, or a door opening and closing, or any sort of a sudden sound, I would hide or duck. Everything and a-anything could scared me. Even…

        “Fluttershy!” a voice called.

“Epp!!!” I yelled, then I hide behind a barrel.

“Fluttershy!?” the voice called again. I started to shake, and it gave me away.

“Oh, there you are!” said the voice.

“I backed up, until I hit a corner, with no where to run.

“Fluttershy?” the voice asked again, it was Spike.

        “P-p-please d-don’t hurt me…” I muttered.

“‘Hurt you’? Ah… I was just telling you to go so I could get to bed because it’s, like, 11:00!

        “Oh… s-sorry… I was…- um…-”

“Hey, it’s cool, alright? I’ll walk you home if you like.” Spike offered. I nodded, then we walked together on the way home. It w-wasn’t as scary as it was before because I had somepony (oh… u-um, dragon, I mean… sorry…) to be with. I wished I was never alone again, and the moment Spike said, “Alright, we’re here! See ya’ tomorrow.” my mind started to panic. “... ah, Fluttershy…? Why are you hugging me…?” Spike asked. I looked down, and realised I suddenly cuddled with Spike like a teddy bear when one of my owls hooted. I let him go with a blush and an embarrassed smile. “... anyway… I’ll be heading home. See ya’-”

        “W-w-wait…” I said.

“What now…?” Spike asked when he turned around. At this point, I cuddled Spike even know he wasn’t in the mood, made him stay up past his bedtime looking for me, I’ve been nothing but a selfish pony, and then I wanted to ask him to stay. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it, yet I couldn’t say ‘Never mind’ and let him leave either.

“Um… this is…- I dunno’, a bit odd right now-”

        “Ood!?

        “- wait… wha-”

I screeched, then ran for my door, and crashed. Then I passed out…

I woke up on my couch. It was morning, and Spike most of dragged me there then went back home to rest. The poor dragon, I made him go through so much... there was day light, so I could be able to go out. But... I was still a bit too easily startled.

I was almost done with teaching my daily singing-lesson with my birds after I was done with my chores, when Twilight came around.

"Hey Fluttershy, I hope I'm not rudely interrupting." She said.

"Oh, don't worry, we were just finishing." I assured her, and continued to direct the birds as they headed for their final notes.

"Oh, good- so I'm just in time since your song is ending."

I froze, and my birds stopped singing all the sudden. My wings folded back into my back, then I fell to the ground, then ran with a scream. I ran my way to the park, then finally calmed down... a little bit, but it wasn't for long.

"Ah', hey Flutters'!" said Rainbow Dash. "Wanna' play some 'ball?" she asked, and held her ball on her hoof, like... how an Ood holds his telepathic ball they used to speak! I screamed again, and ran. Everywhere I looked, I saw something that reminded me of my song ending, Oods, and all the scary stuff from the movie! I ran home, and curled up into a corner...

I curled up in a corner in the corner of my cottage, s-scared of what was going to happen next. I shacked in my hooves.

Knock, knock, knock, knock

I froze.

Knock, knock, knock, knock

I started to cry, now completely scared. I thought I was going to die.

Knock, knock, knock, knock

“Fluttershy? Fluttershy? You’ve been gone for a week, I’m worried about you… Fluttershy…?”

"... Fluttershy...? It's me, Twilight. Spike told me about how you were yesterday, said you said something about an 'Ood'. Is there something wrong?" Twilight asked with concern. She knocked four times! That's when Suit Tailor died, when 'She knocks four times'!

"Angel!" I cried. My sweet little bunny Angel came, with his 'What do you want?' look. "Hide me!" I yelled. He gave me a curious.

"Fluttershy, it's me, Twilight." came Twilight's voice. I was still scared because she still knocked four times. Angel tapped me on the hoof, then followed him to my closet. It was perfect. I got in, then Angel closed the door... and then... I heard my door opened. "Oh, thank Celestia your- oh, hey Angel, have you seen Fluttershy. She's been acting a bit more... timid, than usual... oh, this way...? Okay then...?" I could hear Twilight walk closer, then Angel opened the closet. I curled up and shook. "Ah, there you are. Thanks Angel. Fluttershy...? What's wrong...? Spike told me you were a bit... jumpy, last night." she said, then she seemed to notice something. "Fluttershy... when you had a minor case a Panthafoobia, it was last night... when you saw the movie with the ticket Pinkie got you... oh no, Fluttershy, what did you see?" she asked.

"'T-the End of Time'..." I answered. Twilight cupped her mouth, then I hugged her tight and cried into her shoulder. "It was so scary..."

"There, there, Fluttershy. I'm sure Pinkie Pie had no idea what she was doing... it scares a lot of ponies, you know, so there is no reason to blame you." she said softly, rubbing my back to help me feel better. We broke up. "Here, lie down on your couch, and maybe you can talk it all out. I read a book on therapy, so I'm sure I can help..."

Twilight tied her mane up in a bow and had  pair of glasses on, and I was on my couch, telling on her every detail of every feeling of every bit of the movie (and don't worry, she didn't mind the spoilers) and all the times I saw something that made me think of the movie. Whenever I started on the scary spots, the really, really scary parts, Angel allowed me to cuddle him so I could pull through. The more I shared, the least I felt scared, and as time went by, I eventually started to see how silly it all was, and how silly the movie really was. The Oods never even looked realistic at all. Soon, after at least three days of therapy from Twilight, I was finally able to at least be with Angel and not be scared. But, now I'm not sure how much I need Angel to be with me anyway, but even before the movie, he always made me feel safe and helped me whenever I had a problem. He did make sure Twilight could get into my cottage and helped her find me in the first place, despite how silly I was to try and hide in the first place.

So then I learned to always trust my friends, not to let my imagination get the best of me, and even if it does and I can't stop, never be afraid to ask for help.
