The Man with the Hidden Past

Author's note: Well. I asked 4 of my friends what to turn my guy into. One said werewolf, 2 said vampire, and the last one, I slapped him for. He said a cookie. Plus chaos_trotter said werewolf... so it's even. I guess I decide.

After about 5 minutes of awkward scilence, I decided that I better go. I quickly hoped over the back of the couch and fell off the cloud. As I was nearing the ground I spread my wings and glided down the rest of the way. I stubbled a bit and then got back on my feet.

"Meh." I said as I studied my landing. "Ain't no great landing. But I'm standing at least. Well, it's kinda getting late. I better get back to town." I said as I looked at the sun's position. I was never good at telling time from the sun, but I'd say it was around... 6:30 PM? As I looked around I found a single earth pony walking around in the field. I didn't recognize him from Ponyville. I jogged over quickly to get a look at him. He was probably the dullest pony I've ever seen. Grey eyes, grey coat, white mane, black tail, and his cutie mark was a dull knife. And his mane was even combed over to the side.

"Dude. You, look completely out of place in this world." I said to him. I got no responce. "Hello... Ya there dude?" I said as I waved my hand in front of his face. I still got no responce. Exept one. I got a thought that made absolutly no sence. What was stranger was that I knew what it ment. And I don't know Latin!

< Ignis ergo incrementum intrinsecus... >

"Ignis ergo incrementum intrinsecus?" I repeated. Suddenly, I felt a new sensation. It felt as if I was being crushed, into the shape of a flame. Soon, my vision blacked out. but I could sence everything else. I could feel the tips on the fire I had somehow transformed into licking at the air. Almost as if trying to burn the heavens themselves. Maybe they will get there wish someday. But not now, because I felt myself moving towards the pony. I felt myself go through some sort of barrier. And then, I could see again. But I felt strange... I felt like my back had fucking razor blades spinning in it. I looked around to my back, only to notice that I now could see my whole back, and that I wasn't in my body. I looked at my new body to see it quickly go from grey to a dark red. I also saw that the tail was changing. the black tail that was cut short, soon grew Into 3 spikes that also grew red in it, but a single streak of darker than night black grew in the middle. Soon, my vision was obstructed by two lumps growing out of my back.

"GAHHH!! WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO HURT?! WHAT DID I DO?!" I screemed as my front legs gave out from the pain.

"Wait, Front legs?"

Yeah. You is a pony now.

-THWACK-

WHAT THE HELL MAN?!

"TURN ME BACK!"

Wait! Don't punch me again just yet!

-THWACK-

You ass.

"You know it."

Either way, there is an upside.

"What is it?"

Fuck you. You punched me. Twice. Go die again.

BACK TO THE STORY

I also felt my head getting slightly heavier. But not like something just suddenly placed on it, no... Like something was growing on it. I slowly reached a front leg around my head only to get it pricked by a bunch of sharp points.

"Ok... I either hand really sharp and long hair, or I got spikes growing out my head." I said as I put my leg back on the ground. Suddenly another wave of pain came from my back. I looked back through my tear striken eyes to see two long bat like wings burst out from the skin, spattering blood and flesh around me. I watched as it all quickly grew back while radiating a hellish black mist. As the flesh and blood grew back, I felt something in my mouth grow too. I opened my mouth and put a hoof up to it. I quickly bit down on my hoof and then removed my teeth. My bit mark was different. It only had two holes that quickly healed with the black mist from before.

"Soo... I'm a vampire?"

"Fine..."

BACK TO THE STORY! again.

I then tasted something really spicy. Like, a spicy that makes you think your mouth is made of lava.

"Meh." I said as I dismissed the taste. I was actually suprised at how well I handled the taste. Normally I would have found the nearest pond or something and just stick my head in hoping it would help.

Once all the pain was gone from my back I decided that I should get back to what I was doing before and try to get back to town. I tryed walking. Suprisingly easier than I expected. I thought I was gonna have to learn how, but I guess animal instincts or something just lets me know how to walk. As I was walking, I found a tree.

"-yawn- I guess a nap wouldn't hurt." I said as I walked to the tree. As I walked to it, I noticed it's shadow.

"Wait. The sun is still out. And I'm a vampire? Erm.. vampony? Why isn't this killing me? Or making me feel weak or something? Eh. I'll figure it out later. Nap now." I said as I walked over to the tree. As I sat down at the base of it, I noticed that there was little lines growing out of me and into the tree's shadow. The stretched across the entire thing and then joined. Almost like it was a web of sorts.

"Figure out -yawn- later... Nap... now...." I said as I drifted off to sleep.

"Hello once again."

< Wait a minute... I know that voice! >

"What's up Luna?"

"Aw... you're no fun. But to the point. I'm here to tell you about your new ability."

"So you're here to tell me about being a vampire?"

"Vampony." Luna corrected.

"And while your explaining about being a vampire, can ya tell me why I can't see anything?" I asked as I looked around the black void I was in.

"Vampony. And you can't see anything because you're asleep. And for some reason you don't dream. AT ALL. Why?"

"Because."

"Because..." She said as she waited for me to finish my sentence.

"Because. Now tell me what ya came here for." I said as I got tired of getting side tracked.

"Fine. It's not my fault I enjoy your company. But back to the point, the people who are vamponies are called the Blessed. They are called that because they are blessed with imortality. Though some, call Vamponies the Cursed. It's all a matter of opinion really. But the abilities of the Blessed are that they have advanced sences, faster, stronger, and that they can transform into the animal that represents them. And most rumors are false. Vamponies do not die in sunlight, they arn't harmed by garlic, holy water, ect. We even are immune to decapitation. Though it might take a while for your body to regenerate... Saying as how when you took that body, it completely changed it's form."

"What you mean."

"You're about as tall as Celestia, your muscles are quite obvious, your mane is deadly for some reason, your tail is pretty much just the same as your mane, you had your wings burst out of your back, Vamponic teeth, by the way, you should probably retract those later, and your ears are now pointed and curved. And, you have no cutie mark."

"Really?" I asked before looking at my flank. I watched it as soon, a light gray started to appear it got darker and more clear. I was soon able to make out what it was. It appeared to be a Flame. It was black. Pure black. As black as the Dark void around me. I looked to the other side and saw that this one was red. It reminded me of the Fire of Passion. It had the shape and everything. Well, exapt the animals. God I was glad those wheren't on my ass. It would be strange explaining to kids what they where doing. Besides each other.

"What about now?" I said as I looked away from my flank.

"Hm. It appears that you can chose when to make your cutie mark appear. Though it seems as if you have two different ones."

"Naw.. One is Fire of Passion, and the other is Darkness." I said.

"What's that suppost to mean?"

"Well... maybe the Fire of Passion means I can dosomething with love, and Darkness just means I can control anything relating to Darkness."

"Like the night?" she asked.

"Does that relate to Darkness?"

"I don't know. I guess..."

"Then I guess I do!"

"B-but that's my job!"

"Then you can have it! I'd probably fuck it up anyway!" I said gladly.

"You don't have much confidence in yourself do you?"

"Nope!" I said with a smile. "So how much longer until I can wake up?"

"Now. But first, I must tell you that you will need a few mouthfuls of blood every month or else you will start to feel drained and exausted. If you keep denying yourself of blood, then you will eventually fall into a coma until someone forces the blood into you."

"Oh. Well. Isn't that intersting. Anything else?"

"Nope.

"Well then goodbye! Hopefully, we can talk about this face to face soon."

I heard her begin to say something, but I felt something tug to my right.

I quickly went after it on impulse. I found myself back under the tree suddenly. I saw everything in thermal vision. I looked to my right to see a small red dot in the shape of a mouse. I felt myself begin to change again. I felt my body begin to compress into a long, thin tube. I ignored the feeling as I moved closer to the mouse. Flicking my tongue out in the air. Doing so told me alot. What it just ate, a sandwich made out of flowers , what it's feeling, confusion, and how it's gonna taste. And from the taste of it, quite delicous. I slowly slithered to my new-found prey. I raised my torso to strike fear into it, to paralyze my prey. I felt as my hood expanded around my neck. I snapped my head forward. Baring my sharp fangs that can inject poison from the poison glands right above them. I brought my fangs down apon my prey and forced the poison down through my fangs and into the mouse. I removed them and retracted my fangs and watched the mouse writh in pain from his internal organs slowly shutting down. I did this all in a matter of seconds. I quickly coiled up around my prey to protect it incase any other predators decided that they wanted my meal. I let out a small yawn and felt my jaw unhing as I wrapped my jaw around the mouse. I moved my lower jaw backwards to force the mouse bakwards, down my throat, as my fangs slid out of their puncture wounds, and made new ones as I lifted my upper jaw up so I can stab them into my prey again. It took be about 5 minutes to finish my meal. After about 3 minutes after of just sitting there in the night air, I relized what I just did, and what I was doing.

< What just happened? > I thought.

< And why can't I talk? >

< Ugh. I'll just try to make my way to Fluttershy's. She could help me. > I thought as I slithered my way through the grass. I started to feel a pain in my eyes and noticed that I hadn't blinked in a while. I tried to blink and noticed that I couldn't. So I settled with something similer. I took my tongue. And wiped it across my eyes.

< Much better actually. > I said as I slithered along. Soon, I started to feel something again. I felt like my body was changing. I felt legs grow. And hair.

< Oh god. I hope that my wings don't explode out of my back again. > I thought as I braced myself for the pain to come. Nothing. I only felt my back go numb as my wings slowly grew out of it. By the time I was done, I blinked a few times to get rid of the dizziness I had. I ended up turning back on my thermal vision. I blinked again and it turned off.

"I ssseriously need to find a way to control that." I said as I predicted that it might be a problem later on.

"Why am I hisssing?" I asked myself. I flicked my tongue out and tasted something. A scent. One that I knew well. The scent of books. I quickly followed the scent flicking my tongue every once and a while to make sure I was on the right track. Eventually, it led me to Rarity's place.

< I need an alibi. > I thought to myself.

< How about... My name is Flame Heart... Yeah! that'll do. And um... I came to say that I was lost and looking for somepony that can help me find a place to stay. >

I slowly walked up to the door and checked to see if my Fangs had retracted. I then noticed that I could control them now, unlike before where they just did what instinct told them. I gave one last lick at the air to see if the scent was still there. Though now I tasted fabrics and purume, I could still taste the scent of books. I raised a hoof and knocked on the door. I guess Luna was right about the strength part. I heard cracking each time I hit it.

"Coming!" I heard Rarity call. Soon after I saw her open the door. I gave a quick glance behind her and saw Twilight and Fluttershy there too. I changed my voice slightly and spoke.

"Yesss... Hello! My name issss Flame Heart. And you are?" I ask with a slight nod of my head.

"Um.. Yes. I am Rarity." she asked cautiously.

"Well. I'm actually quite lossst. And I wass wondering if you knew sssomepony that could help me find a placcce to sssstay."

"Oh! Of course! Why not come in? You can explain everything that had happened to a cup of tea." She said as she moved out of the doorway.

"Thank you. I would be delighted to have tea with a beautyful mare ssssuch as yoursssself." I said making her blush.

"Flattery gets you no where Mr. Heart. But it is highy appreciated." she said as she walked towards her kitchen. As she did so, I was walking towards Fluttershy and Twilight.

"Hello there ladiesssss." I hissed out.

"Hello Mr..." Twilight started.

"Heart. Mr. Flame Heart at your servicccce." I said with a bow.

"Um... Mr. Heart... Why are you hissing like that? That is, if you don't mind me asking." she said as she looked at the floor.

"Hm? Ah yesss... that."

< Gotta think of something fast! >

"Well... You ssssee... I can't quite remember..." I said as I put a hoof to my chin.

< Good 'nough. >

"Oh.. I'm sorry." Fluttershy said as if she was on the brink of tears.

"Now now... What isss there to be sssorry for? You did nothing wrong." I asked her.

"I brought up bad memories for you."

"No you didn't. I don't remember at all. Now if I can't remember, how can I have bad memoriessss?" I asked her as I walked to her side.

"I.. I don't know..." She said as tears started to run free.

"Now. You clearly have sssomething elssse that'sss bothering you. What isss it?" I asked.

"Well... you see, one of our friends had gone missing a few days ago. We have no idea where he is. I'm just so worried about him." She said between sobs. I comfortingly put a hoof around her and tried to comfort her.

"You know... he may be clossser than you think. You jussst have to look in the right placccesss." I said as I tried to get her to look at my eyes. "And I'm pretty sssure that he wouldn't leave sssuch a pretty faccce without reassson..." I said making her blush. I gave off a small laugh and then looked at Twilight. She was busy studying my form, well, mainly my cutie mark.

"Ssssee sssomething you like?" I asked her. Making her jump in shock and blush at the fact she was caught.

"N-no! I was just wondering why you don't have a cutie mark." she said defencivly. I gave a slight smile.

"Oh really?" I said as I started to make my mark appear. "Then what'sss thissss?" I asked her as I pointed to it when a hoof when it was done becoming visable.

"Wha... How did you do that?" she asked with a look of awe on her face.

"Ah ah ah... That'sss a sssecret. Now then. I never got to know your namesss. Care to ssshare them with me?" I asked Twilight.

"Oh! I forgot. Well, I'm Twilight Sparkle. I run the local library. And that's Fluttershy." she said as she pointed with a hoof." She's kinda like the local veterinarian. What do you do exactly?"

"Erm... I'm actually unemployed. I had recccently gotten here."

"Oh! Really? Where where you from?" she asked.

< Ok... I remember seeing a map when I was at Twilight's before... What was one of those villages' names? >

"I think it wasss New Sssaddle? I had moved alot."

"Where where you before that?" she asked.

"Doesss it matter?" I asked slightly annoyed.

"N-no. I guess not." she asked as she backed away slightly.

"Tea's done!" I heard Rarity call. I watched as she came from the kitchen somehow balancing 4 cups of tea on a tray that was in her mouth. I gotta admit. I admired her skill.

"Ah... Thank you Rarity." I said as I grabbed a cup of tea in my hooves. "I grew up on tea. I can tell when sssomepony'sss tea is well made or not. And this, is absssolutly deliciousss." I said as I carefully sipped at the tea. I then remembered that I hadn't blinked in a while and wondered why. So I decided a quick trick might tell me why.

"AH! Oh dear... I appear to have gotten sssomething in my eye." I said as I quickly put a hoof up to my left eye.

"Oh dear! Here, let me see. I might be able to help." Twilight offered.

"Y-yeah. Ok." I said as I removed my hoof and opened the eye I had it over. Twilight leaned close to get a better look at it. It lookslike she found something.

"Well... I found it, but it looks like it's attached to your eye. Try blinking a couple times." she instructed.

< Uh oh. Blinking turns on my thermal vision. I hope it doesn't change anything. >

I rapidly blinked a couple times. Watching as my vision changed between thermal and normal very fast.

"I'm not sure if it did anything... You blinked to fast for me to tell. But it's still there."

< Maybe I grew a layer of skin over it like a snake? >

"Well... Poniesss have sssaid that I alwaysss had ssstrange eyesss..."

"Why's that?" Rarity asked.

"They sssay that the change." I said after I had finished my tea.

"How?" Twilight asked.

"I'm not sssure. I never really checked." I said. Which was kinda true. I never did check to see if thermal vision did anything.

"Well. Can you try and change it so we can see?" Twilight asked.

"Sssure! Anything for my new friendsss." I said. I forcefully closed my eyes shut to try and make the act convincing. I opened them to see all their body heats. I looked to Twilight's first and found that the middle of her body and her horn where the hotest. Same with Rarity. But with Fluttershy, it was the middle of her body, the tips of her wings, and her face. I figured that her face was warm because she was crying.

"Oh my! That certainly is a change!" Rarity said.

"It is! I wonder why that happens..." Twilight agreed before getting lost in her mind about the possabilities.

"Eep! They, they look like a snake's..."

"Sssnake's? Like, jussst a ssslit?" I asked.

"Well... Kinda. It's just a slit for a pupil and your normal bright red iris around it." Twilight answered.

"Interesssting." I hissed. "Well! I've cccertainly had a great time with you girlsss... But I mussst get going. I have sssomething I have to take care of." I said as I got up to leave.

"What is it? Maybe we can help you!" Twilight offered.

"I don't think that'sss a good idea. This issn't sssomething you ssshould reveal when you first meet sssomepony." I said as I started to walk towards the door. Suddenly, I felt myself be wrapped in Twilight's magic. I saw my hooves start to radiate the black mist from before. I watched as it wrapped around my body, covering everything but my eyes.Which where still in thermal. I then suddenly started to loose control of my fangs. I fought for control of them. I turned around to look at Twilight once I was sure I had control. I looked her right in the eyes. I found her shaking in fear.

"I wouldn't do that Twilight." I warned. I was shocked at my voice. It sounded deeper. Darker. It shocked me out of the state was in. I quickly shook my head to clear my body of the black mist. I also blinked to return to normal vision. I watched the black mist dissapear into the air around me.

"I am ssso sssorry about that Twilight. I didn't mean to ssscare you. I'm jusst gonna leave before I messs anything elssse up." I said with my head hanging low as I walked back toward the door.

"It's ok. I forgive you." I heard Twilight say. Instantly, my ears perked up and and I stopped walking.

"Seriously? You arn't pulling my leg?" I asked as I turned my head around. I saw her horn glow and felt her magic on my leg. She had a sly smile. I felt her magic strengthen slightly. After a while, I saw her smile turn into a frown.

"What."

"Nothing, it's just that I was gonna lift you into the air by your leg, exept you didn't even budge."

"Huh. Oh well?" I said cautiously. I watched her horn glow again, and watched as Rarity was lifted up into the air by her back leg.

"Twilight! Put me down this instant! There is a stallion in the room!" she said with a blush.

"Oh. Sorry Rarity. I was just checking to see if I could still lift ponies up." she said as she blushed too.

"Hey Fluttershy... You've been quiet lately. What'sss on your mind?" I asked her.

"My friend that went missing. He sang me a song and I'm singing it in my head. He said that his mother youed to hum it to him when he was young and it would always make him tear up."

< Oh God. Please don't sing it right now. I don't really feel like crying right here and revealing myself to Twilight. >

"Well. It must be beautyful then. You'll have to sing it to me sometime."

"Oh. Um. I can sing it now if you like..."

"NO! Oh. I mean, no, please. I really have to take care of my problem."

"Hey, you never told us what it was." Rarity reminded everypony. I mental facepalmed. Erm, facehoofed.

"Trussst me. If you knew, there'sss a great chanccce you woun't be my friend."

"Why? Are you a drug dealler or something?" Rarity questioned.

"What? No! No, of course not. If I was, I wouldn't have asked for help now would I?"

"Well... No, I guess not. Then what is your problem?" Rarity asked.

"Well... um. You don't have to tell us if you don't want to... but we would like it if you did..." Fluttershy said.

I gave a quick sigh. "Lisssten. If I tell you three, there'sss a large chanccce you woun't be my friend. Like I had sssaid before. But I promissse that I will tell you three sssomeday. Ok?" I promised.

"Ok, if you promise..." Rarity said.

"Fine. But I still want to help you if I can." Twilight offered

"Um. So would I." Fluttershy said agreeing with Twilight.

"Thank you. Now. I mussst get going now." I said as I walked to the door. I gave it a slight shove and heard it creak under the pressure before opening. I stepped out side and stretched my wings. I flapped them a few times and slowly flew up into the sky. I looked up to see the moon shining down on everything. I got an idea.

< Stars > Soon, a small white orb grew in my hoof. I pointed it to a star and found I could move the star. So, I put that start back, and found a big cluster of stars and moved them all aside so I could start my little project. After somewhere around an hour, my project was done. I looked up to admire my work. In the night sky there were the words...

I fucked up your night Luna. Lol.

Yep. I felt proud of myself. Suddenly, I watched as they rearanged again, this time it spelled

I can always fix it.

"Hehe. Of courssse you can." I said as I watched it go back to normal. I then flew back down to the ground and began to quietly trot along the road. I end up runnig into a white unicorn with purple sunglasses when I wasn't looking.

"Sssorry about that." I said as I helped the unicorn up.

"No problem man! Hey, my name's Vinyl Scratch. What's yours?" She asked.

"Mine? Mine isss Flame Heart." I said.

"Flame Heart eh? Cool name! Hey, quick question, what do you know about music?"

"Only that if you give me the sssong, I can probably sssing it. Just as long as it'sss a low vocal part, I ssshould be able to sssing it." I replied.

"Can you do anything about your hissing when you sing?" She asked.

"I'm not sssure. I havn't sssang in a while. I'll try later. Ok?" I offered.

"Yeah man, sure. I'll catch ya later." she said before walking away. As she walked away, I licked the air to get her scent. I couldn't find one. Suddenly, I heard a russtle behind me. I quickly blinked to turn on my thermal vision and looked behind me. I found a mouse family alittle bit away, but I found a bush. With a couple spots of heat in it. I decided to check it out. I found the three fillies from before hiding in there.

"Yesss?" I asked. They all jumped at being caught and ran. I felt the urge to chase after them. Soon, my fangs started to protract. I had to fight them back once again.

< This is gonna be tough at this rate. > I thought as I walked around the town. I would occationally flick my tongue through the air to get some scents. After a while of wandering, I passed the Mint green unicorn that I bitch-slapped before. I flicked the air once she passed to get her scent. She smelled like mint.

< What a suprise... > I thought as I stopped. I didn't notice at first, but I saw that she looked somewhat dazed. I quickly turned around to catch up with her. I quickly caught up.

"Hey, I'm new around here. What'sss your name?" I asked to get her attention. She suddenly snapped out of her daze and looked at me.

"Oh! I'm Lyra Heartstrings. What's your name?

"I'm Flame Heart. Pleasure to meet you." I said with a slight bow of my head.

"So why do you hiss when you talk?" she asked me.

"It'sss becaussse of my tongue." I responded.

"What's wrong with it?"

I decided showing it would get the point across better. So, I stuck it out and licked the air a few times. I caught the sent of the little fillies from before.

"Excussse me. I'm actually being followed by three little filliesss. I should probably lead them home. I'll talk to you later?"

"Of course! Just holler when ya see me!" she said before trotting off.

Turning around, I licked the air again to see if the fillies where still there. Yup. I started to walk my way back to Rarity's place first. I made sure to take a longer way so I didn't lead on that I was going to Rarity's. When I got to Rarity's I knocked a few times and waited. Soon, Rarity came to the door.

"Oh! Flame, you're back. Why so soon?" she asked.

"Oh. I beleive I have sssome followersss. One is your sssister." I said quietly.

"How do you know I have a sister?" she questioned.

"Clossse resemblenccce." I stated.

"I guess. So where is she?" she asked.

"Let me check." I said before I blinked. I looked around and found the three blobs of heat in a rose bush to my right.. "She'sss in that rose bush to my right. You want me to go get her for you?" I offered.

"Yes, I would appreciate that. Thank you." she said before closing the door. I quickly turned around and flew up into the air. As soon as I saw them leave the bush I flew behind them and quietly walked behind them. I turned off my thermal and kept walking behind them as they looked for me. As soon as Sweetie Belle was at the back of the group, I grabbed her in my hoof and covered her mouth with my other one I then used my wings to create a dust clowd to hide me flying off back to Rarity's. Once I was there, I stayed back on my hind legs and using my wings to keep my balance. I used one of my hind legs real fast to kick the door twice. Both times, shaking the whole door. Soon, Rarity appeared at the door again.

"You didn't have to hit it so hard you know."

"Well... I'm not usssed to being gentle enough to quietly knock on a door." I said over Sweetie Belle's muffled screems for help.

"Why are you handling Sweetie like that?!" Rarity screemed at me.

"Hey. I wasss only making sssure the other two didn't noticcce she wasss misssing."

"Why all the secrecy? And you can let her go now." Rarity said.

"Oh. Of courssse." I said as I gently set her down. "I wasss trying to do thisss while I was hidden ssso the other two wouldn't get ideasss. I'm planning on leading them to their homesss later."

"How did you know we were following you?" I heard Sweetie Belle ask me.

"You girlsss smell deliccciousss." I said as I turned on my thermal vision and flicked my tongue a couple times. She ran screeming. After I was done having my laughing fit, I got off the ground and turned off my thermal vision. Then got slapped by Rarity. In all truth, I barly felt anything. I think she hurt her hoof. Oh well. Gotta keep up my act.

"Ow. What wasss that for?" I asked while rubbing where she hit me.

"Scaring Sweetie Belle! That was so rude!" She said as she stomped her hoof a couple times.

"Hey, look. It wasss jussst a little prank. It did absssolutly no harm." I said as I slowly backed away from the angry unicorn.

"Prank?! That was what you call a prank?!" She yelled at me while advancing on me.

< Wow. How have her neighbors not woken up yet? >

"Uh, um. Yes?" I choked out.

"Well! I have some serious punishment planned for you because of what you did!"

"S-seriousss p-punishment?" I stammered. I was actually kinda scared of what she could do.

"Yes! You're gonna have a Time out Mister!" Rarity yelled. Well. There goes my fear of her.

"Yesss ma'am..." I said as I walked into th house with my head low.

< Humiliating... >

"In the corner!" I heard she call from beind me.

< Ow. My ears. >

So I walked in the corner. "How long isss thisss gonna take?" I asked.

"As long as it takes for you to learn your lesson."

"Thisss isss gonna take a few weeksss." I mumbled.

After about 5 minutes I started to remember a song. So I sang it. It was strange, because the random laws of physics in Equestria made the music come out of my head.

"How where you doing that?" Rarity asked me once the rediculously loud music coming out of my head was done.

"Sssinging? Quite easily actually. You sssee, your voiccce isss made from your vocal folds vibrating rapidly that makess-" I said before getting interupted.

"No, I mean the music."

"I dunno." I said as I shrugged. "I alwaysss figured that it wasss normal around here."

"No, a unicorn makes the music with magic from their horn."

"Oh." I said plainly. "Well. I'm jussst gonna go back to thinking about the lessson I have yet to learn."

"No, wait. You obviously arn't gonna learn it any time soon. You can go if you like." Rairty said as she watched me get up.

"Of courssse. But firssst, may I go apologize to Sweetie Belle?" I said as I tilted my head in the direction Sweetie Belle ran.

"If you promise not to make things worse."

I gave her a look. One that could only mean one thing. "Ssseriousssly? I want to apologize not make thingsss worssse." I said before walking towards the hallway Sweetie ran in. I put my ear by every door in there to see which one she was in. I was suprised. She was in the first one I checked. I gave a quick knock on the door.

"Wh-who is it?" I heard her call form inside.

"It'sss me. I jussst want to ssay sssorry."

"It's ok, I forgive you, please leave me alone!" I heard her say at breack-neck speed.

< Good 'nough >

"Well... If you sssay ssso." I said before turning around and walking away. I ended up spotting Rarity standing at the corner watching me.

"What."

"Nothing. I was just watching you to make sure you apologized."

"That'sss it?" I questioned. She wasn't exactly the best liar, but she was good.

"Maybe..."

"Then what elssse?"

"I was just wondering if um... you would like to stay here?" she asked with a blush. Chicks be digging the buffness.

"Sssure. I would love to. Heh, I just relized I forgot to take care of my problem. You think the other two will go home by themselvvvesss?" I asked Rarity.

"Applebloom and Scootaloo? Of course! I know for sure that Applejack makes sure that she gets her rest and I'm not really sure about Scootaloo."

"Thank you." I said.

"For what darling?" she asked.

"For one, allowing me into your home, and letting me ssstay the night. And for reasssuring me about the other two. I wasss worried." I said. "Now then, I'm exausssted. I'm goining to sssleep on the couch if that'sss fine with you." I said as I walked over to the couch.

"It is certainly not fine with me! You're going to sleep in my room! I will not allow a guest to sleep on a couch while I have a perfectly fine bed." she said.

"Ok... If you sssay ssso. Where isss it?" I asked.

"Oh. Right this way. Follow me." She said before turning and going down the hallway. She went to to the third door and opened it.

< Ok... This is gonna be creepy sleeping in here > I said as I looked around the room. Dolls. Dolls and manikiens in the shapes of ponies everywhere.

"U-uh..." Was all I could stammer out. I was creeped the fuck out.

"Glorious right?" Rarity said as she walked in.

"Uhh... Ssssure..." I said as I walked in a bit slower. "I'm just uh... gonna sssleep under here." I said as I crawled backward under her bed.

"Absolutly not!" She yelled as she grabbed my hooves and pulled. I fought the urge to retaliate. I only got so far. My eyes changed to thermal, my fangs protracted, and I let out a long, low hiss. Rarity quickly let go.

"Wha-what are you?!" she quickly yelled from the corner she was hiding in. I decided that I should probably crawl out so I can talk.

"I... am Flame Heart." I said with my fangs still out, and my thermal vision still on. Her body heat and risen quite a bit. I stretched my wings real fast and then cracked my neck. Once again, louder than I expected.

"Wait... I know that sound..." Rarity said as she came out of the corner.

< Shit! >

"You where the one that snuck into Fluttershy's room a couple days ago!" she yelled.

< That was close. >

"Now wait a minute... I just got to Ponyville remember?" I said as I ended starting trying to hind back under the bed.

"Then how would I know that sound?" Rarity said as she advanced on me.

< Why am I so scared right now?! >

"How would I know? I just met you a couple hours ago."

< Why arn't I hissing anymore? >

"True..." Rarity said as she stopped and put a hoof to her chin. I gave a quick sigh and used my mane to quietly cut a small hole in the botton of the bed without her noticing.

"Now then. You must be tired from everything you did today. Why don't you get some sleep." I suggested.

"Hm. Yes, I must be a little tired. I'm sorry for acussing you." she said as she climbed onto the bed.

"No problem what so ever." I said with a grin. "Goodnight Rarity." I said before getting completely under the bed.

"Good night Flame Heart." Rarity said befire I felt her move around on the bed.

"Hmhmhm... This is working out a bit too well." I said as soon as I was sure she was asleep. Soon, I started to relax and I watched as my web of shadows expanded from me. I watched it wrap around the entire room as I started to feel like I was changing into a long, thin tube. I quickly raised my head up to the whole I made earlier and slithered in. I started to make my way towards the middle of when I felt something. Well, something, wet seeping through the bed.

< And... I'm out of here. > I thought as I quickly slithered my way out of the bed. Once I was out, I quickly made my way to the bathroom. It just seemed like the best spot. I found the bathtub and saw small amounts of water in it. I quickly climbed in and coiled up.

< This is actually pretty nice. >

In about 4 minutes, I was asleep in a bathtub. A really comfortable one at that. To bad my dreamless slumber was interupted early.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! RARITY COME QUICK! THERE'S A SNAKE IN THE BATHTUB!" I heard a high pitched voice screem.

< AH! MY POOR NON-EXISTANT EARS! >

I quickly raised my head and expanded my hood to the threat. I saw a large blob of heat slightly above the edge of the tub. As soon as I had raised my head, it started to run. I quickly tried to strike it, only to miss by a couple inches. I quickly went back to my posision of sitting coiled up, fangs bared, hood extended, and slowly swaying from side to side.

< Damn. Missed. >

Soon, and even larger blob appeared by the edge of the bathtub. I tryed to stand even higher to intimadate it. It backed away slightly. I knew I could handle this now. I slowly began to uncoil and made my way towards the edge of the bathtub. Always keeping an eye on the blob of heat. It started to back away, I let out alow hiss that made it stop. I continued to get closer, soon, I saw something at the top on the blob get hotter and I felt a pressure around me. I saw as a cold mist rose from my body and surround the hotter substance around me and eat away at it. Suddenly, I felt myself getting better control of my body. I could feel the air change from a fly beating it's wings in the kitchen, I heard the smaller blob crying somewhere in the hallway, I tasted the larger blob's fur as I sank my fangs into it's hoof. But then, I relized what was happening, and what I was doing. I quickly stopped my fangs from releasing the poison into the blob before it was to late. And felt a pain coming from my back. I started to twist and turn trying to get away from whatever was on top of me. Whatever it was, wasn't letting up. I turned my head around to see a small blob of heat. But it's midsection was unbeleivably hot. I recognized the shape of it as that dragon from Twilight's. I think his name was Spike. I was in his claws as he started to lift me in the air. I quickly wrapped my tail around his arm and started to coil my torso around it too.

"Woah! This snake is smart!" I heard him say.

I quickly started to squeeze that arm that was currently wrapped in my body.

"Nice try buddy, but my scales are as tough as steel! Nothing can break-"

-CRACK-

"them?" He finished. "AHHH!!! GET THIS THING OFF OF ME!" He screemed as she waved his arms and ran in circles.

< Ha! Ok, 'nough fun. I gotta get outa here. Hm... I wonder... >

Soon, I felt an uncontrolable pain come from my upper mid-section. I quickly dropped to the ground writhing in pain.

"What did you do to it Spike?" I heard Sweetie ask from the doorway.

"I... I don't know." he said as he watched me writhing in pain on the floor. "Wait, what's that coming out of it's back?" He asked the others as he saw two bumps growing on my back.

< Huh. So I can control them. > Suddenly, I felt my wings explode out of my back once again. God, it was painful. I watched as chunks of my flesh and blood spattered on everything around me. That included Spike and Rarity.

"AAAAAHHHHH!!!!" Was all I heard as the two tried to get well, 'me' off of them. As soon as my pain turned to numbness, all my blood and flesh that flew off me started to disintegrate and turn into the cold mist from before, and flew into my two flesh wounds. The more mist the wounds absorbed the faster they healed. As soon as It was done, I gave them a quick stretch and turned to the others. I gave the best smile a snake could give and gave a few powerful flaps to get blast myself up into the air. I flew over their heads and made my way to the flower pot by the door. I quickly folded my wings up whileI was in the air and crash landed around the flowers. I coiled myself up around the edges of the pot and waited for Rarirty or Spike to open the door so I can escape.

"Did you see where that Horrid thing went?" I heard Rarity ask Spike.

< You bitch. If I had hands, I would slap you! >

"No, maybe it's hiding somewhere. We should go get Twilight to help find it." Spike suggested.

< Yes! Open the door... >

"Wait! Maybe you should sent her a letter so we can keep looking for it." Rarity said.

< You bitch. >

I decided that since my plan would no longer, work I had to try a new one. I waited until they turned around and then sped down the hallway. I found a hole in the wall I could fit in and slithered in before the two found me. It was really cold. I slithered in the wall for a while until I saw a light. I slowly stuck my head out and saw that I was outside. I slowly made my way out.

< Yay, this sun feels really nice. > I thought as I coiled up right outside to bask in the sun. After a while, I felt my wings slowly recede into my back. I turned around to see them finish. I decided that I was safe now and closed my hood. After a while, I saw Twilight's shape appear. She looked warmer than normal.

< Must be consentration. >

She kept going in a zig-zag pattern all around Rarity's place. Suddenly, she stopped when she was about 10 feet away from me. She turned in my direction and slowly walked towards me.

< Magic. Not concentration. Ok then. I'ma run now. > I thought before quickly uncoilding and slithering to the nearest bush. I quickly wrapped myself around the base of it. If she wants me, she's gonna get a bush too! Soon, she was right at the bush, using magic to move the branches to get a better look at me. I decided I should scare her. I quickly un coiled my tail, but kept my torso around the bush. I then made my tail, sneak behind her and wrap around on of her legs. I gave it a tight squeeze.

"Ah! Get it off me!" She screemed while she did her imatation of a bucking bronco. I let go as soon as I saw her getting tired. As soon as she calmed down, I saw her face get warmer.

< Ok, 'nough fun. I'm just gonna give up. > I thought before I slithered out with my head on the ground. As soon as I was close, I rose my head eye level with Twilight's, and that still left about 9 feet of me still on the ground! I tilted my head to see what she was waiting for. She just sat there frozen. So, I decided to give her a hug the only way a snake can. I took my head and wrapped it loosly around Twilight's neck. I then wrapped the rest of my body around her neck so I could move my head more. I kept my head eye level with Twilight's while I was around her neck. Soon, I saw Rarity and Spike come running. I quickly expanded my hood and let out a hiss as I bared my fangs.

"T-Twilight... Don't. Move." Spike saidas he put his hands in front of him.

"H-help." I heard Twilight say as her body temperater skyrocketed.

I saw Rarity slowly getting closer to me. I didn't pay her anymind. It was Spike that had my attention right now. He was slowly going to the other side of Twilight. Soon, he to started to get closer. I figured out that they where trying to grab be so I quickly turned around and bit Rarity's nose. I made sure not to release any poison. I only wanted to scare her off.

"AH! It, it bit me! What if it's poisonous?"

< Well, I'm obviously a King Cobra from my size, hood, and color. Of course I'm poisonous! What did you expect?! I even bit a mouse earlier and it died from the poison! Sheesh. Give a snamke some credit. Wait. What's this? > I thought as I liked my fangs clean of the small traces of blood on them. < Roses? Why does Rarity's blood taste like roses? > I quickly swallowed it and turned back to Spike. I found him reaching out to me. I looked him right in the eyes and let out a small hiss. Be backed away and ran after Rarity. I closed my hood, retracted my fangs, and rested my head and neck on Twilight's head.

"Y-you arn't gonna hurt me?" Twilight asked after a while. I rased my head and slowly put it in front of Twilight's. I tilted it slightly, then shook it no. "Wh-what?"

< Ugh. Man I wish I could talk right now. >

"Really?" I shook my head yes.

"Then why did you bite Rarity?" she said asked. I could tell she was mad. I decided that since I can't talk, I'll have to settle with something else. I slowly unwapped my tail so I could use it. I reached about 3 feet infront of Twilight and started to write.

"S...O...R...R...Y?" She said as I wrote. Writing with my tail, is harder than it sounded in my head.

"So you didn't mean to hurt anypony?" I shook my head no again. Then, I started to write again. Pain in the ass by the way.

"O...n...e... S...e...c...o...n...d..." She said as I wrote. As soon as she was done, I unwrapped myself from around her neck and started to transform back into my pony form. The one that I don't like as much. I mean, being a snake is awesome! I felt everything start to regrow again. I quickly gained the ability to blink again and did so. Normal vision is less annoying that thermal at times. I watched as my wings started to bulg under my skin again as my body started to get shorter and thicker. I watched as the bumps that where my wings burst out of my back again. This time, with no pain. I was unbeleivably grateful for that. Soon, my abnormally sharp hair started to grow. Aswell as legs and my tail. I quickly retracted my fangs and stood up.

"Ah... Much better." I said as I stretched everything. About 10 cracks from my spine, each leg cracking once or twice, neck, well. It out numbered my legs.

"Hm. I'm dissapointed. I usually can crack more." I said before looking back up to Twilight. Didn't see her. Unless you count the dust cloud running off towards the library her.

"-sigh- Well. It's gonna be a long day." I said before flying up in the air.
