The Man with the Hidden Past

Author's Note: Ahh... Yes. More chapters to this story. Go ahead and voice your suggestions for the story. I might actually consider them.

"That was fast..." Twilight said. Once she opened it, she saw a large white pegasus with a light blue mane and golden armor. The armor had what looked like Celestia Cutie Mark on it.

"Twilight I presume?" He asked.

"Y-yes. Thats me." Twilight said.

"We are under order from Princess Celestia herself to gaurd the Elements. Is there anything we should look out for?"

"Yes, you should watch out for a tall, hairless ape-like creature. It carries around a sharp weapon and is very accurate when throwing it. Celestia told us that if we see a small metal object shine in the sun we should get behind cover. I suggest you take the same advice."

"Thank you. We shall keep this in mind." The gaurd said before walking off.

"I hope they can fight him..." Twilight said after she closed the door.

She then made her way over to her friends and told them to get some sleep. They all agreed and huddled together. All but Fluttershy. She stayed with the Diamond dog. Early in the morning the Diamond Dog woke up a cold sweat. He tried to sit up but couldn't, the pain in his ribs was to great. He gave out a small yelp and relaxed again. He found that there was pain in his back too. The pain formed words. Spot and Fido. He then remembered what happened to them and started to cry. Fluttershy, after waking up from his yelp, went over to him to comfort him. When she went near him, he tried to hide but couldn't move his body.

"It's ok... I woun't hurt you. Can you tell me your name?" Fluttershy asked.

He slowly moved his head no. He was to afraid of what would happen.

"Well can you at least tell me what happened to you?" Fluttershy asked.

He slowly shook his head yes and asked for some water. Once Fluttershy came back with the water he asked for her to put it to his mouth. Once she did, he quickly drank it.

"Do you really vant me to tell you?" He asked.

Fluttershy quickly shook her head yes.

"Ok zen... but I woun't leave any detailz out." He said before he started to tell her exactly how it happened. Once he was done, they where bothin tears. The Diamond Dog's condition only making it more painful for him to cry.

"I swear... he broke my ribz just to make it hard for mez to cry." He said.

"No... He couldn't have done all those aweful things... He wouldn't have!" Fluttershy said covering her face in her hooves.

"Fluttershy...."

"Who's there?" She asked.

The Diamond Dog quickly recognized the voice and ignored the pain in his chest and ran out the door.

-BANG-

Suddenly the Diamond Dog fell to the ground holding his leg.

"Fluttershy... I must thank you for taking care of me. But I see that Twilight has sent a letter to Celestia. And she sent gaurds. I'm sorry for what I'm about to do. You don't deserve to see this."

"Wha-what are you gonna do?" She asked. Suddenly, a figure started to form out of the shadows.

"I, am going to have to dispose of these gaurds. As Celestia will never consider you six safe from me. I'm sorry." I said before letting my figure return to the shadows. I moved to Fluttershy's shadow, transforming her's into mine.

"If you ever need me, look to the shadows..." I said, before returning to where I left my gun.

"What does he mean, Look to the shadows?" She wondered. She looked down and noticed her shadow had returned to her own. She noticed the Diamond Dog again and brought it back inside. She set him back on the couch and told him to get some rest. He happily agreed and tryed to sleep. Fluttershy however was still wondering about what I said. So she decided to test it. She turn off the lights in the room and looked around. She noticed a darker figure in the darkness.

"You called?" I asked.

"Um... No, not really. I was just wondering how you became like this."

"While I was looking for a place to stay after you all ran away from me, I climbed up a tree to find a cave. I found a dirt area with some caves and stones. I climbed down the tree and found some blue flowers. I cut off their heads and put them in my pocket. I then noticed that my skin was turning black and when I stepped in a shadow, I dissappeared and could control shadows. When I step in light, I look normal. But when I'm the shadow, and I come in contact with pure light, I feel pain. That is why I said to look to the shadows."

"Blue flowers?"

"Yeah. Why? You know about them?"

"Yes, their called Poison Joke. They play a joke on the people who touch them. Looks like the joke they played on you is better for you than it is bad."

"Yeah. I guess so..." I said. I was still wondering why I couldn't control the shadows like I could before I fell asleep and why my everything I had on me at that time also turned to shadows.

"Is there a way to cure this, Poison Joke?"

"Well, yes actually. It's a herbal bath. Me and the others accidently walked into a patch and had to have our friend Zecora help us."

"Hmm... Interesting. I'll find her late if I ever regret this power."

"So... uhh... Do you mind if I turn the lights on? I don't really like the dark."

"Of course. I'll be near the walls where there are shadows until I materialize again."

"Oh. O-ok."

Fluttershy then flew around the room. Bumping into a few things trying to find come candles.

"F-fluttershy? Is that you?" She heard somewhere to her left.

"Y-yes, It's me Twilight."

"Why are all the lights off?"

Fluttershy was starting to get nervous. How would she explain me?

"Uh... No reason!" She quickly said trying to look innocent.

Soon, there was a glowing light coming from Twilight's horn. Fluttershy quickly looked towrard the walls to look for me. Luckily for me, my wings tansformed too and I was flying in the shadows above them. After a while though, I started to materialize so I flew above them. Not making a sound, and dropped behind Twilight. I put my hand in front of her mouth and nose and held it there. I used my other hand to wrap around her neck to hold her head still. Slowly, the light got dimmer and dimmer. Once it was out, I turned back into the shadows.

"Don't worry. She's only knocked out. I'll go find some candles for you."

"Wh-why did you do that?!" She asked.

"One, is because she can't be trusted. Two, is because she would freak out and try to get help. And three, well there is no three. I just plain don't like her much."

Fluttershy stayed scilent after that. My eyes where well adjusted to the shadows now, so I found about five candles and lit them. I put them by Fluttershy. I then looked over to Twilight's desk and found a letter. I quickly read it while I waited to materialize.

"That bitch. I told her not to tell them my name." I turned around and looked at Fluttershy. She was hidding behind her mane. I took my knife out of my pocket and threw it at her. It went 2 inches in front of her face and cut off her mane. The knife eventually hit the wall and stuck.

"I warned you." I said after materializing completely. She looked suprised at what she saw. I looked like I did before. Lion thing's skull on my hed and everything. I thought I must have looked awesome, but we all have our own opinions. But I still had blood all over my cloths.

"I see that you noticed what that Diamond Dog's friends did to my cloths." I said pointing to the Diamond Dog on the couch. The sound of my knife hitting the wall had woken him up. He quickly noticed me and tryed to get up. What he didn't see what that I was right next to him before he sat up.

"I see that you're awake now. Your lucky I already gave you your punishment. Otherwise you would have suffered worse than a bullet in the leg. You better have thanked Fluttershy and her friends for their help." I wispered in his ear, putting the fear of God in his very exsistance. The dog then fainted. I let out a small chuckle and turned back to Fluttershy. She was cowering in a corner.

"I see... I am still not wanted here. Before I leave though, I'll tell you this, and only you. Anyone who stands against me will die." I said before stepping into the shadows once more.

"You no longer have to worry about the gaurds around the tree too. Their going to be gone soon."

Flutterhsy quickly looked out the door and saw me walking slowly behind a gaurd in the morning light. I looked behind be and saw her. I have a two fingure salute, and took out my knife. I shone the barly visable sun in her eyes. I quickly then sunk the knife into the gaurds neck before she could recover. I took the knife out and ran into the shadows. All she saw what me flashing the sun in her eyes and a gaurd fall to the ground, holding his neck.

"That was close. I hope she does't worry about the gaurds... Ah, who am I kidding? Of course she will." I thought. I looked ahead of me and saw a large white pegasus with a blue mane. He was looking around as if looking for a signal.

"Hello there gaurd. I beleive you are searching for me?" I said from the shadows.

"Show your self!" he yelled searching around for me.

"Of course, I always like a good fight. But I'm still waiting for one."

As soon as I stepted out of the shadows, he took a few steps back from what he saw. I had my wings streched out as far as they would go, and had all my lion-thing clothing on. I walked about 5 feet in from of him and sat down. All the while, he was watching me materialize slowly.

"Wh-What are you?"

"I am the one waiting for you to attack me." I said leaning back a little.

He clearly let his anger get the best of him as he charged at me. I simply stood up and side-steped him. As he ran past, I used the palm of my hand and pushed down, causing him to fall face-first into the ground.

I yawned and sat back down.

"I love teasing idiots like this." I thought.

He took to the air and tried to dive at me. I noticed this and lied down. As soon as he was about 2 yard away from me, I turned on my side. He landed face-first again, 3 inches away from by back. I then turned back on my back. Half of it covering his head, keeping it there. As he struggles to get out, his wings where flapping wildly. I noticed this and grabbed one. I noticed all the feathers in neat rows.

"Nice feathers ya have here..." I said slightly lifting my back so he could hear me. " It'd me a shame if something happened to them..."

I started to pick each feather off, one by one. He started to thrash alot more after the first 10 feathers.

"Oh, I'm sorry, did you want me to stop?"

I heard a yell and sat up. He quickly withdrew his head. His eyes looked like fire. He flew up in the air again but this time not as fast.

"So you want to take this fight to the air now?" I asked with a grin. He shuddered at my face and took a defencing position in the sky.

"Your funeral." I said standing up. I stood there for a moment and slowly flew up into the air. I noticed his face turn to one of curiosity.

"Like my wings? Awesome right? Their also quite sharp." I said flying slowly toward him. He was slowly flying away from me.

"So. You gonna keep flying away? OR are ya gonna attack me. Because I don't want to ruin this warm up by killing you so soon." I teased.

He took the bait and flew right at me. I flew slightly to the side and grabbed his neck. I held him in front of me so I could look him in the eyes.

"Ya look scared big-guy. Afraid I might kill ya? Well you have good reason too." I said. After I said that, I slowly flew back to the ground. Once on the ground, I took out my knife and stabbed it threw his hoof. Pinning him to the ground. I flew away a little bit and spread my wings. I flew straight at him with what I swear should be my signiture black trail with red lines following me. I headed straight for him, as soon as I was close, I turned a hard right, making my left wing make a clean cut straight through his neck.

"Eh. He wasn't much of a fight. Worst part is is that he looked the strongest." I said picking up his head. I set it down and found a large stick. I went back over to the head and lined the stick up with the head.

"FORE!"

-Crack-

The head flew quite a ways and I heard a thud and a screem.

"Ha! I didn't expect a pony to be up this early." I said looking at the sun for a time. "About 7:00 AM" I thought. "Oops."

Any suggestions on what to do next? I'm running out of ideas.
