Chapter 1

Ponyville is a very calm place. There is very rarely crime; life is simple and straight-forward. Once a pony got their cutie mark, they know their job and place in society. However, ever since the Mane 6 became famous for saving the Equestria a few times, the once small town then had bustling amounts of visitors.  There were new ponies every week. Even Pinkie Pie groans when having to throw a party all the time.

However, ponies began to get tired of Ponyville, and visitors became less and less over time. Ponyville’s lifestyle became much simpler again. Pinkie Pie became finally happy to throw parties again. Every pony in town knew each other by name. In fact, they can individually say each other’s pets by name. Crazy, it seems.

Over the last year, Ponyville life slowly went back to normal again. Of course, with the Cutie Mark Crusaders still running around town, each day was an individual day.

However, one night, life in Ponyville life became crazy again. Due to one single Colt… or, should I say two?

It was an average night for the Mane 6. The sky was cloudless with a minor breeze. Twilight Sparkle was up studying, like always, while her young dragon companion, Spike, slept silently. Applejack and the rest of the Apple family were sleeping after a long day’s hard work. Rarity had fallen asleep while working on an important project, even though her little sister, Sweetie Bell, was up doing random activities around the house. Fluttershy had fallen asleep just minutes before because her animals were going crazy for reasons she couldn’t understand; she hadn’t made them calm down, she just went to sleep from lack of energy. Pinkie Pie fell asleep like a light after the sixth day of the “Partypalooza”, where she parties with friends for multiple days straight to break the Equestrian record of four days; the others of the Mane 6 came to visit, though they couldn’t stay. Rainbow Dash fell asleep after an average day of flying practice. Since we have little choice here, we will focus this story on the leader of the Mane 6, Twilight Sparkle.

Twilight was up studying a new textbook that Princess Celestia had sent through the mail that day. It was a peculiar topic, even for Twilight’s standards. It was about myths, legends, and secrets of the universe, all not true- or just never proven. Oh course, Twilight laughed at all of these topics. Some were downright impossible. Some were of fake creatures; some were of aliens, and some were of other obviously fake topics.

There were some things in this book that seemed strange. There were some writing in places that were not anywhere in any other Equestrian books that she had read… and that’s pretty much all of them. She wanted to send a letter to the princess to ask about the question, but Twilight didn’t want to wake up Spike. She just continued reading; it was strange, but interesting. When she finished, she couldn’t fall asleep. She just opened up to a random page for fun.

It ended up on a page she didn’t see at first. Unlike every other page, it had no page number and… it had pictures. Believe it or not, no other page had pictures in the book. It had a strange mark in the box for the picture. It appeared to be a comet. It was a green and black comet, with the colors splitting right down the middle. The picture had caught her attention, so she looked to the words…

But there were none. She could have sworn to Celestia that she had just seen words on the page seconds ago. She had no idea what just happened. Any other pony in Ponyville would claim it was cursed, though Twilight was smart enough to know there was no such thing as it. She had nothing else to look at, so she just closed the book and prepared for bed.

She felt sleepiness coming to her, and as she prepared to enter dream land…

A bright light came blaring through the window. She was unable to sleep; it seemed to be as bright as the sun. But it was the middle of the night; the sun isn’t out at this time. She finally decided to fully open her curtains to see what the source of the light was… it was the last thing she expected.

The comet from her textbook was flying across the sky at a speed that was average for a comet, though it was still fast. It seemed so pretty. But one thing ruined its beauty: It was heading straight to the ground.

Twilight was panicking. This is a big comet. It would probably create a really huge explosion. If she calculated it correctly, it was heading towards Sweet Apple Acres.

Oh no, She thought, Applejack and the rest of them may be in trouble. She had just recently mastered a spell for communication over a short distance. It created a hologram-thing that appears on another end for instant voice and sight communication.

She used her magic to create the first end in front of her, and the second one in the Apple house, more specifically Applejack’s room. When it connected, she saw Applejack and the comet light lighting up the room.

“Oh, hey Twilight,” said Applejack, “Is this that the fancy little communication spell you said you learned?”

“Yes, but I’m not trying to talk about that.” Twilight looked behind Applejack at the window.

“Yes, that does seem kind of obvious. But don’t worry; it isn’t gonna land anywhere near our house. In fact, it seems like it’s gonna land in the only spot in our fields that doesn’t even have a single apple tree.”

“Wow. That would be lucky, but that’s a big comet. It will cause a big shock. It will definitely hit more than that one spot. I’m coming anyway; I’m going to see what I can do.”

“Sure, sugar cubes. Just make sure you don’t get hurt.”

Twilight nodded and stopped the chat. She packed her things and started running. She galloped at the speed of a race pony. She got to Sweet Apple Acres in only a few minutes.

When she reached there, she saw the whole Apple family standing outside the house.

“What’s all this ruckus?” asked Granny Smith, squinting from the light.

“Yeah!” exclaimed Applebloom, who had light streaming across her face.

“There’s a comet incoming.” explained Twilight calmly. “I want all of you to leave so you don’t get hurt. Using my magic, I’m going to try to stop the comet, or at least slow it down.”

“But… are you going to be okay?” asked Applebloom.

Twilight sighed. “I’m not sure. But I want you all to. Grab your valuables and leave, please.”

After a few minutes, the house was nearly empty, because they had few objects in the house anyway. As Twilight waved good-bye, and walked to the comet’s soon-to-be crash sight. She grabbed all of the strength she could bare, and tried to use her magic to slow down or stop the comet.

It wouldn’t work. No magic she tried on it worked. She panicked and tried to use spells on it that would be dumb to use anyway. When she realized this comet was spell-proof, she realized her fate too late. As she cowered, she prepared for her fate to come.

But it didn’t come. Twilight realized that should have been gone seconds ago. She built up the courage to look up. She saw the comet, suspended in midair. She was extremely scared, and equally confused. Then, the strangest thing yet happened, though Twilight.

The comet split in half diagonally, so one half had more green than black, and the other half had more black than green. Well, Twilight just jinxed herself. Something even stranger happened. The two halves split- one straight diagonally up-right, and the other half in the other direction… the thing is, the one that second half headed towards was into the ground. It crashed into the ground less than a second after launching, leaving a giant dust cloud.

After fanning away all the dust, she saw what was left… a Pegasus, extremely hurt and lying on the ground.

“Please… help me…” it weakly said.
