Although Star Swirl was guilty, he felt proud. Relieved, even. Everything had fallen into place that night, and Star Swirl didn't want to mess it up. He had traveled not that far from home when he heard it. A melodious song, it was. A soft, sweet voice that somehow, subconsciously felt corrupted, and Star Swirl couldn't help but feel swept up in the harmonious notes. He continued walking into the clearing, looking around him as he walked, paranoid about something jumping out at him. Then he saw her. She was sitting on a rock. Her hair framed her face like a sculpture, and it was hard not to notice her mechanical wings and star-shaped ears.

She hardly noticed him as she continued singing, and he tried to make the sounds of his hoofsteps quiet. Of course, to no avail. He noisily stepped on a twig and winced. The mare's eyes grew wide, and she looked up from staring at the grass. A couple fireflies dared to blink, one shone brightly. Star Swirl blushed. She was rather attractive, her mane falling over her face perfectly. Her yellow eyeees pierced the darkness and with every move of them they seemed to shine brighter. Star Swirl was astounded.
