Blue Blur

It was a beautiful sunny day, the birds were chirping beautiful songs and Sonic’s friends were all in the park preparing for a certain anthropomorphic blue hedgehog’s birthday today.

They had all of the things on the table ready for the party. The cake, decorations, party favors, and the food was cooked to perfection.

Knuckles the Echidna looked around and did a head count, just to make sure everyone was there.

“Let’s see,” the red echidna thought, “We’ve got me, Shadow the Hedgehog, Amy the Hedgehog, Rouge the Bat, Charmy the Bee, Espio the Chameleon, Vector the Crocodile, and Cream the Rabbit. Yup... Seems like everybody’s present and accounted for.”

“Guys!” A voice called out from behind them all.

They all turned around to see a familiar yellow two-tailed fox running towards them.

“Guys! He’ll be here at any second!” Miles “Tails” Prower said, panting.

Tails ran to the table with the rest of his friends to wait for him, they didn’t have to wait long as the Blue Blur appeared, just as Tails said, about two seconds later.

“Hey guys, what’s going on?” Sonic asked upon stopping.

“SURPRISE!!!” All of Sonic’s friends turned around and confetti blasted out of cannons on the table, Vector lifted the cake up so Sonic could see the cake that had his face on it.

“Happy birthday Sonic!” Tails said, walking to his best friend and patting his back.

“Wow! Guys this is awesome! I didn’t expect this at all!” Sonic said, walking to the table and looking around, a look of joy on his face.

“Yeah, sure you didn’t Sonic.” Tails said.

“I’m serious! I didn’t expect this whatsoever!” Sonic said.

“Sonic!” A voice called out that made Sonic facepalm.

Amy Rose ran around the table and ran towards Sonic, her arms held out open to grab onto the hedgehog.

Sonic held out his hand and held Amy there as she tried to reach out for Sonic.

“Well anyways, happy birthday buddy.” Tails walked to the side of the table and walked back to Sonic, holding a paper plate that held a fresh chili dog on it with a bow tied around it, “For you.”

Sonic looked at the chili dog and instantly felt his mouth begin to water. He took the chili dog and took a big bite out of it, rubbing his belly as he tasted the delicious gift from his friend.

“It’s great!” Sonic said, “Thanks guys.”

“Well, you know, it’s a pretty big day for you. We had to make everything look just right.” Knuckles said.

“It’s not your birthday everyday big blue.” Rouge the Bat said with a wink towards Sonic, “We wanted everything to be perfect, just for you.”

“Hey Shadow!” Knuckles called, “Come wish Sonic a happy birthday!”

Shadow was standing on a hill, away from the rest, and looking out into the distance with his arms crossed.

Shadow turned his head slightly towards the group as he heard Knuckles’ voice call for him, and saw the rest of the group looking at him out of the corner of his eye.

He looked down then back up, turning around and looking to Sonic.

“Uh... Happy birthday Sonic.” He said, rubbing the back of his head.

Sonic nodded to Shadow and gave him a thumbs up, along with a friendly smile.

Shadow nodded slightly and turned back around, returning to looking over the distance.

“So Sonic, make a wish.” Tails said, gesturing to the cake.

“Let’s see... I guess I could wish to be able to run even faster, but we already know that’s just impossible.” Sonic said with a chuckle, “And I’m here with all my friends, so I have nothing else in the world I could ever possibly want.”

“Awww.” The crowd of Sonic’s friends said.

“Too bad Sonic.” A familiar voice called out that made Sonic grit his teeth, “I was really hoping that you were going to include me on the guest list.”

Sonic and his friends turned around to see a certain evil scientist on his signature Egg Mobile hovering above them all.

“I mean, really! I’m your oldest friend Sonic! And you didn’t invite me!? Now that’s just plain rude.” The evil scientist said.

“Eggman!” Tails said.

“What do you want you creep?” Sonic said.

“Well let’s see... Hm... I do want a lot of things. Maybe... A pony, a new Egg Mobile, and also the destruction of you and all of your friends!” Eggman said.

“Yeah, we’ll see about that!” Sonic said, getting ready to run towards the evil scientist and attack him with a homing dash attack.

“We will! Because now I plan on us having a battle that’s... OUT OF THIS WORLD!” Eggman said, followed by a long period of silence from Sonic and his friends.

“So you’re going to take our fight to space? Dude, can you just get to the part where you try to kill me now?” Sonic said, unable to take the awkward silence any longer, “I think I’d much rather have that than listen to any jokes from you.”

“Why you little-I WORK HARD ON MY SPEECHES! AND YET YOU RUIN THEM!” Eggman said.

“Well maybe you should be better at writing speeches! Then maybe I wouldn’t ruin them all the time.” Sonic said, causing the evil scientist to scream in rage.

“Curse you Sonic! But no matter... I’ll just take you out now and I won’t have to hear from your annoying mouth EVER AGAIN!” Eggman said, pushing a button.

The Egg Mobile’s sides then opened up, revealing two shiny, reflective machine guns on the sides. The machine guns then began to open fire on Sonic, only to end up completely missing the blue hedgehog as he ran from the gunfire.

Sonic began running circles around the Egg Mobile, trying to get the evil scientist dizzy so that hitting him would be easier than normal.

But it seemed like Eggman had a lot more endurance this time around, as the evil scientist didn’t seem to get dizzy.

Sonic then just gave up on confusing the madman and ran away, looking to get some distance from him and Eggman so he could run back and use a speed boost with a homing dash on him.

“Leaving so soon, Sonic?” Eggman said as he watched the blue hedgehog run, “Well that’s too bad. Because I’m not done with you yet!” Eggman pushed a button on his Egg Mobile and a large piece of machinery flew in from the distance, connecting itself to the bottom part of the Egg Mobile.

Sonic looked back and saw this, gasping a little in shock, and facing forward again to continue running.

Eggman grinned a wide grin and pushed a button, causing two large mechanical arms to come out of the sides of the bottom portion of the Egg Mobile and chase after Sonic.

Sonic turned and saw this, facing forward again and kicking his feet faster to try and evade the mechanical arms that were stretching their way after him. But, try as Sonic did, they eventually caught up to the blue hedgehog, grabbing him and retracting back to the Egg Mobile.

Eggman grinned widely at the sight of Sonic, struggling to escape from the mechanical grasp.

Sonic looked towards Eggman and smiled, remembering his back up plan in case Eggman ever had Sonic caught in a trap he just couldn’t escape from.

Sonic began to relax and close his eyes, seven crystals emerging from Sonic’s body and circling him as Eggman came to a slow realization that brought an evil grin to his face.

“I’m... Going to beat you... Eggman...” Sonic said, still struggling against the mechanical grasp that was still crushing him as he fought for even a breath, “SUPER SONIC STYLE!” Sonic opened his arms the very second the Chaos Emeralds’ power turned on, making Sonic yellow, his quills facing upwards, and his pupils turning red as Sonic looked down upon the shaking Eggman.

“I-I-I-I’m getting out of here!!!!” Eggman shouted, flipping a switch on the Egg Mobile that sent it, and its bottom portion, flying up into the air towards space.

Sonic grinned and prepared to fly up, but was stopped.

“Sonic!” A voice called from behind him.

Sonic turned and saw Knuckles standing there.

“What is it Knuckles?” Sonic asked.

“You may need help Sonic!” Tails said, pushing a button on a remote he pulled seemingly out of nowhere.

“So we’re coming too!” Amy said, “I won’t let my dear Sonic go all alone!”

“You all might need help.” Shadow said, walking to Sonic as he flew down, “So I guess I’ll go too.”

“Guys... Thank you. Now let’s defeat this creep with the real super power of-”

“Let’s just hurry up with this already! I don’t wish to hear your short speech on the real ‘superpower of teamwork’ again.” Shadow said, absorbing the power of the Chaos Emeralds, turning into the Super form of himself and flying with Sonic up to space to pursue Eggman.

Knuckles, Tails and Amy hopped into Tails’ plane, the Tornado, and flew after Sonic as he flew into space to face Eggman.

Sonic and Shadow made his way up to space after Eggman’s Egg Mobile as it landed on a space station that Eggman always had up in space for reasons.

Sonic and Shadow landed next to Tails’ plane on the deck and Sonic didn’t waste any time running after Eggman as he saw him fleeing inside the machine.

Eggman saw Sonic flying towards him, followed by a few of his friends, and began shutting doors on Sonic, hoping that they would slow him down. But, to Eggman’s fright, Sonic just blasted through the doors easily in his mad pursuit towards Eggman.

Eggman entered a large room with a large mirror that opened up to a large view of his home planet, Mobius.

Eggman turned and closed the door, only for Sonic to blast right through and crash into the Egg Mobile, causing Eggman himself to fly out of it.

Eggman flew onto the ground, getting a few bruises, and finally looked up to see Super Sonic, Knuckles, Amy and Tails standing in front of him.

“N-No!” Eggman said, flying back and crawling away on his back, “P-Please Sonic! I can change! Honest! I swear to it! I’ll change this time!”

“Ha! Do you really expect me to fall for that one Eggman?” Sonic said, “You didn’t show that you had changed in that amusement park of yours.”

Eggman held one hand up, as a sign of mercy, and used his other to reach far behind him to a switch that was strategically placed behind him.

“I-I can change Sonic! Please! Just give me a chance!” Eggman said.

“Will you Egg head? Will you really?” Sonic said.

“I don’t believe you! You creep!” Amy said.

“Yeah! You nearly blew up the planet once!” Knuckles added.

“And you also released in ancient evil in the planet!” Tails added.

“So after all that you really believe we’ll just believe you’ll change?” Sonic asked.

“P-Please Sonic!” Eggman said, still reaching behind him for the switch.

“Well it’s too late.” Shadow said.

“Yeah! You’re going into custody forever!” Sonic added.

Eggman grinned evilly as he finally got his hands on the control switch he had been reaching for and pulled it, activating the machine Eggman had in the room with them.

Sonic and his friends looked up, seeing a large machine above them hiss as it started up, shooting out strings of energy that grabbed onto Sonic and the rest.

“YES!” Eggman shouted, jumping up and jumping around in joy, “Ooh BABY! It worked! I can’t believe it, to be honest! I imagined that Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends would be smarter than to walk right into my trap! But LOOK! You’re all in my trap now! Sonic, Shadow, you know how you two went Super? Well... You two still have the Chaos Emeralds with you. So now all I need to do is just absorb their power from your body by violently ripping them out of you and using my machine to absorb their power.” Eggman ran to the other side of the room, where a large control panel rose from the ground that had numerous flashing lights, buttons, and a small screen that showed various parts of Mobius that his robots were video taping.

Eggman crazily threw his hand down, and brought it back down powerful as he slammed his finger on a red glowing button.

The machine started to get louder and Sonic and his friends all began screaming in pain as Eggman’s machine activated. Sonic began screaming louder as the Chaos Emeralds were taken out of his body and put in a circle around him and his friends.

“The machine is now absorbing the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds and harnessing them into the machine! So now my machine will gain enough power to do... THIS!” Eggman slammed his fist on a flashing red button that was much larger than the rest of the buttons on the panel, and the whole space station began to hum as something at the front of it, out the window, was activated.

Sonic and his friends turned their heads as they writhed in pain towards the window, looking out to see their home, Mobius as a large yellow beam of energy headed towards it.

“Do you wish to see what is going on down there?” Eggman asked, pushing a button that caused a large screen to come down from the roof of the room.

The large screen turned on and showed Sonic and his friends what was going on down on Mobius from one of Eggman’s robots’ point of view. The robot looked up as it saw the large beam coming down to the planet from space. The robot stayed there, watching the beam as it crashed down onto the planet and made a large explosion that made a large boom that wiped out everything that was around it. The wind came closer to the robot and it remained as the whole world was getting destroyed from the explosion that’s radius just kept getting bigger.

Eggman grew a large and evil smile as he pushed the button again, raising the screen so they could all see out the window.

As the screen rose Mobius began to come into view, slowly as it looked normal at the bottom, but as it got to the middle the whole middle of the planet was destroyed. The explosion kept getting larger and larger as it destroyed more of the planet.

“YES!!!! I can now make the world mine as the residents try to rise from the ashes! Eggman Land can FINALLY come to be!” Eggman said as the machine powered down, leaving the explosion to grow and letting Sonic and his friends go as they fall to the ground, weakened.

“You’ve.... REALLY done it.... NOW Eggman!” Sonic said, struggling to get up.

“Aw... Poor Sonic and friends. Too bad none of you can get the pleasure of seeing Eggman Land finally rise up as I will send you all to space where you will all float around until you all eventually need air and you... You get the point.” Eggman said, his finger slowly lowering towards a button, “Just one push of this button Sonic. And I’m finally done with you. After all these years, I’ll finally be done with you.”

“N-NO!” Shadow said, raising his hand, “Chaos.... SPEAR!”

Shadow shot out a spear of Chaos Energy at Eggman, but Sonic interrupted him, causing Shadow to shoot down a bit and hit the control panel.

Shadow lowered his head, exhausted by the amount of energy he had just used to summon the Chaos Spear.

“No! You little-” Eggman said, “Oh no... I hope nothing is damaged...”

Eggman walked to the front of the panel where Shadow’s Chaos Spear had hit to see just how much damage had been done to it.

But as soon as Eggman got to the front of it the control panel began sparking, eventually making a small explosion and sending the doctor flying back and hitting the wall, landing next to Sonic and his friends.

“No! AH! I-I’m getting out of here!” Eggman said, getting up and running down the hall.

“E-Eggman!” Sonic screamed after him.

Sonic pushed against the pain and stood up, helping his friends up so they could chase after the doctor.

Sonic picked up the Chaos Emeralds, now all of them colorless due to their power being drained, and looked back to see Knuckles, Amy, Shadow and Tails following and sighed that his friend were alright.

Sonic turned his attention towards Eggman again and saw him slowly getting closer as they ran down a long narrow hallway, surrounded by the sound of explosions from other parts of the station.

Eggman stopped in a room, that while smaller than the room they were in, was still pretty large, and relaxed. He was apparently comfortable with his destination.

Eggman walked to the other side before turning, screaming as he saw Sonic, Amy, Knuckles, Shadow and Tails running towards him.

Sonic grinned at Eggman as Eggman ran to the other side, slamming his fist on a button that caused doors to close that would close Sonic and the rest from the room.

But, unfortunately for the doctor, Sonic and his friends were too fast for the doors, getting in as soon as they shut. But Sonic fell to his knees as he got in, having ran faster than the others.

“No! You little blue annoying rat!” Eggman said.

Sonic struggled, but eventually stood straight up. “I’m not a rat, Eggman!” He said, “I’m a Hedgehog!”

“Soon you’re going to be a DEADhog!” Eggman said, causing an uncomfortable silence from Sonic and his friends.

“Booooo.” Amy said flatly.

“Ugh!” Eggman said. He was about to open his mouth to make another bad pun, but was interrupted by a loud and powerful explosion that hit the room they were in causing the doors to burst open and Eggman to fall back onto a control panel that he was headed to.

“NononononononononononoNOOOOOOOO!” Eggman said, turning to see the control panel that had been crushed by him.

The entire room began shaking violently, eventually seeming to move as Sonic, his friends and Eggman were all flown to the top of the room, each of them all entering holes in the ceiling that had doors that shut as soon as they entered them.

The holes they entered shot out of the room, evidently being escape pods Eggman had, and Sonic saw the room they were in was now floating in space.

Sonic looked out the window of the escape pod he was in as it grew colder, his breath becoming visible as he saw more of his home planet being destroyed by the explosion that was still destroying much of it.

Sonic saw his planet one last time before his eyes shut, his body giving up and shutting down due to the lack of energy he still had.

His last sight, him, Eggman, and all of his friends flying away from Mobius in the same direction.

“Ah swear it!” A little Earth Pony filly said, her voice with a country tang in it, “Ah saw something fallin from the sky! It landed somewhere near here!”

“Apple Bloom, I don’t think you saw anything. I think you’re just pulling our legs.” A Pegasus filly said, moving a bush around to look inside for this strange device Apple Bloom claimed to have seen fall from the sky.

“Ah’m NOT lying! Ah saw something fall from the sky! It was... It was grey! And it looked like it was made of metal!” Apple Bloom said.

“Apple Bloom, are you sure you did see something? Because it is pretty hot out here, maybe you just imagined it because of the heat.” A Unicorn filly said, struggling to use its magic to lift up a rock to look underneath it.

“Ah didn’t imagine it! It was real! It was as real as Equestria!” The filly named Apple Bloom said, “Come on Scootaloo! Sweetie Belle! Ah know ah saw something!”

“Uh... Guys?” The filly named Sweetie Belle said, peering over a bush, “You might want to take a look at this!” *Ding*

Apple Bloom and the filly named Scootaloo trotted over to Sweetie Belle and looked over the bush, seeing a large metal container looking thing.

“There it is!” Apple Bloom said excitedly, pointing her hoof towards it, “That’s what ah saw!”

“What in Equestria IS it?” Scootaloo asked.

“I don’t know... But it doesn’t look like anything from Equestria I’ve seen.” Sweetie Belle said.

The container made a hissing noise as the front of it opened up, letting out a cloud and a rush of freezing cold air out, causing the three fillies to shiver.

A moment passed and then a hand appeared from the inside, grabbing onto the side of the container, it was either a white gloved hand.

Then the creature rose from the container, showing a blue creature with spikes on its head that faced back.

The blue creature fell out of the container, showing its red and white shoes with gold buckles, and laid down for a bit.

“W-Wha-What is that!?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“Ah don’t know!” Apple Bloom said, “But ya’ll know what this means?”

“Cutie Marks for discovering an alien!?” Scootaloo asked.

“Cutie Marks for discovering an alien.” Apple Bloom said as confirmation.

The three of them looked to their flanks, which were still blank, and frowned at the sight.

“Aw well...” Apple Bloom said, a tinge of disappointment in her voice.

“Ugh... Where... Where the heck am I?” A voice said from behind the bush, making the three fillies to jump in surprise.

The three of them looked through the bush to see the creature standing up, looking around.

“HELLO!?” The creature called out, “ANYONE THERE!?”

Apple Bloom rose up over the bush and coughed, causing the blue creature to jump a bit.

“Uh... H-Hi. M-Mah name’s Apple Bloom.” She said, looking to Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle as they rose up.

“I’m Sweetie Belle.” Sweetie Belle said.

“And I’m Scootaloo!” Scootaloo said, “Who are you?”

“Uh... I-I can’t... I can’t seem to remember all that much, but, um... I know my name’s Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. Uh... I know I’m called the fastest thing alive.” Sonic said.

“Sonic?” Sweetie Belle said.

“The Hedgehog?” Apple Bloom said, “Ya’ll don’t look like a hedgehog that I’ve ever seen before. And Fluttershy has shown us hedgehogs before.”

“And that doesn’t even sound cool. If you are the ‘fastest thing alive’, even though we all know Rainbow Dash is, then you should be called something cooler than Sonic.” Scootaloo said, adding quotations to ‘fastest thing alive.’

“Something... Cooler?” Sonic asked.

“Yeah! Like... Like... The... Uh...” Scootaloo looked Sonic up and down, taking note of his blue color, “Uh... Yeah, I got nothing.”

Sonic looked down on himself, also taking note of his own blue color.

“How about Blue Blur?” Sonic asked.

“Awesome!” Scootaloo said, “Watch out for the ‘Blue Blur!’ Oh, what’s that? The ‘Blue Blur is here!? Oh no! That’s awesome! Hey! Rainbow Dash should get a name that’s cool like that!”

“Uh... Can you guys please tell me where I am though?” Sonic said, “Maybe take me to a town nearby or something?”

“Oh yeah! Sorry.” Scootaloo said.

“You can follow us to Ponyville!” Apple Bloom said, “Ah know you’ll love it.”

“Ooooooorrrrrrr.... He can take us!” Scootaloo said, stretching out the ‘or.’

“What?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“If he really is the fastest, then let him prove it. Let’s have him run us to Ponyville while we ride on his back. Ponyville is that way, “Scootaloo said, pointing her hoof towards where the sun is setting, “Now go on and take us there.”

The three fillies jumped onto Sonic’s back before he had time to protest, causing him to sigh and look down at his feet.

“Hold on tight.” He said, getting ready to sprint.

The fillies held onto him as tight as they could, but Sonic still didn’t feel comfortable. Sonic began running at a fast pace, but still slow enough for them to not fall off from.

“Yawn. I told you he isn’t the fastest thing alive.” Scootaloo said.

“Hey! I’m trying to make sure you three don’t fall off and hurt yourselves!” Sonic said back.

“We’ll be fine! Just run faster!” Scootaloo said.

“Ugh... Fine.” Sonic said, making a short little boost that got him farther from where he was, but closer to the town he could see rising from the distance. But the boost didn’t last long, Sonic ended it soon so the little fillies wouldn’t fall off.

“Woah!” Apple Bloom said.

“Did you see that!?” Sweetie Belle said.

Scootaloo had to admit that she was impressed with the speed of this new creature, but she still didn’t think that Sonic was faster, or even as fast, as Rainbow Dash.

Sonic had an amused smile as he heard Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom talk about the small boost he just did, but he had still had pictures in his head. Last he remembered he was running around, wild and free. But he has a mental picture of a group of people, the people being a yellow fox with two tails, another being a red echidna with spiked knuckles, a black and red hedgehog that had an angry look on his face, and the last being a pink hedgehog that he’s holding back. And the other is of a planet being destroyed by a large explosions as Sonic and a bunch of other pods that all looked similar floated away from the planet.

“What happened there? Sonic asked himself, “Why am I here?”

Sonic looked up to the sky, seeing that night time was quickly approaching, and gave himself a little boost, making sure not to go too fast, to get to the town faster.

“But I should focus on finding out who these people are that just can’t seem to escape my mind.” Sonic thought, seeing the image of the people he’s with again.

The capsule hissed as it opened, letting the tall humanoid figure out.

The moustached man got out of the capsule, but found it hard to stand straight up as his legs quickly gave out on him due to a lack of energy.

“Where...? Where am I?” Eggman asked to no one in particular.

Eggman strained and groaned as he tried to stand up, eventually being successful by leaning against the capsule.

Eggman looked around and took note of his surroundings. He was in a forest, but on the border.

Eggman looked into the forest and quickly took note to not go any deeper as he could swear he saw multiple pairs of eyes staring back at him with what looked like intense hunger in their eyes that made the doctor’s legs shake a bit. Looking out of the forest to the right Eggman could see a small town, to the left he could see a small cottage that had many animals walking around outside it, just minding their own business.

“Hm... If I talk to the resident in that cottage, then maybe I can find out where I am. This clearly isn’t Mobius, if it were then this place would be in ruins.” Eggman thought to himself.

Eggman began walking to the cottage, looking around the cottage as all of the animals looked towards him with strange looks, as if they were looking at an alien or something.

Eggman looked down and noticed that the cottage was a lot smaller than it looked in the distance. The doctor got on one knee and knocked on the door.

“Hello?” Eggman said, “I was just wondering if anyone is here and if they can please tell me where I am. I seem to have gotten lost and need help.”

A small while passed and a piece of paper slipped out through the mail hole on the door. Eggman picked it up and read it.

“Equestria?” Eggman asked, “What on earth is an Equestria? Is that the name of this country?”

Another small piece of paper fell through the hole and Eggman picked it up and read it.

“Alright. And that small town?” Eggman asked.

Another small piece of paper fell through, Eggman picked it up and read, ‘Ponyville.’

“Ponyville? Why that is just about the stupidest name for something I’ve ever heard something named in my life.” Eggman said.

Eggman stood up and turned to the direction the town is in.

“Ponyville? That doesn’t sound like any city that would be on Mobius... Hm...” He thought.

Eggman looked around to the place he was in, the cottage and the forest, holding his hand up to his chin as he began thinking.

“I remember that Sonic and his annoying friends had stopped my plans just as I was successful... Typical. But... I wonder...” Eggman looked around, seeing all of the animals around him that were still studying him while others just decided to ignore him and focus on eating, “Perhaps I could... No. I must find out if Sonic is here with me. That annoying blue hedgehog caused us to all fly off into space. So now I’ll need to make sure Sonic didn’t land on this planet. In fact... I need to make sure that this planet is weak enough for me to take it over easily, and create Eggman Land... Then if it is, and Sonic is nowhere to be seen, then I shall work to make this planet my own!” Eggman began chuckling, before it turned into psychotic laughter that eventually caused him to cough uncontrollably.

“One day down... A whole eternity to go.” The creature said, making another line in the ground to show how many days had passed since his defeat by the hooves of Twilight Sparkle and her friends.

Lord Tirek punched the ground, his fury over his defeat by the hooves of that pitiful creature still burning inside of him.

“Oh, what I’d give to be able to get the power I had back and go up to challenge that... That... Pony... To combat. I’m sure she wouldn’t stand a chance without all that magic she had helping her.” Tirek said.

Tirek looked around his prison in Tartarus, sighing at his terrible and humiliating position.

“Ugh... If only I were able to... To... Leave this prison. If only I had enough magic to leave and exact my revenge!” Tirek said.

“Who’s there?” A voice said from in the shadows.

Tirek looked around, his jaw agape at the voice he heard, with him thinking he was the only one down there him suddenly hearing  another voice shocked him.

“Come here!” Tirek said, “I wish to see you!”

“How do I know you won’t try to attack me?” The voice said.

“Because I have been cruelly drained of my magic. I cannot escape these bars.” Tirek said.

A moment of silence passed, but eventually a black and red creature with upwards facing quills and red eyes that had a look to kill walked out of the shadows.

“Who are you?” The creature asked.

“Me?” Tirek said, “Why... I-I’m Lord Tirek. But who and what are you?”

The black and red creature held its hands to its head, shutting its eyes tight as if it were trying to remember.

“I... I don’t remember.” The black and red creature said, “All I remember is a gruesome image of a little girl being killed, and me with a gold creature with red eyes as we chased something up into space.”

Tirek could just feel the magic that was inside of this creature, but the magic felt... Off. As if it were more powerful than any magic he could ever have acquired from any ponies that he could ever come across. And the magic felt... Dark, as well. It just felt off to Tirek, but he could feel its power, and how strong it was.

“Well do you know who I am?” The creature said.

“What?” Tirek responded, getting caught off guard by the creature.

“Do you know who I am?” The creature repeated.

“Uh... Yes!” Tirek said, “But come here. I must test something.”

The creature slowly walked to Tirek, as if it were asking itself whether to trust Tirek or not.

Tirek opened his mouth and tried to absorb the creature’s magic, only for the creature to just stare back at Tirek awkwardly with its eye brow raised.

“What?” Tirek thought, “It’s... It’s not of this world. It’s... Something different. Well... Perhaps I could bring this creature to my side. And use it like I did with that pathetic abomination, Discord.”

“What are you doing?” The creature asked.

Tirek quickly closed his mouth and coughed. “You... You are my apprentice.” Tirek said, “And I, am your master.”

“Apprentice?” The creature said, “But who is that gold creature, and that little girl?”

“They are not important anymore. What is important is that you and I are here now, on this world. We... We were sent here to take over this world. This world is full of pathetic creatures that need to be ruled by us.” Tirek said.

“But... Why?” The creature asked.

“You do not ask questions! You do what you are told.” Tirek said, quickly getting rid of the creature’s question.

“But... What is my name?” The creature said.

“Your name is... Mephiles!” Tirek said, thanking his luck that he could come up with a name quickly.

“Mephiles...?” Shadow said, “My name is... Mephiles?” Shadow looked down. “But who is the girl? And the gold creature.”

“The little girl was just an ally that we have yet to see again, and the gold creature was your partner before you two were separated, so now, Mephiles... Will you complete your mission to take over this pitiful planet?” Tirek said.

Shadow looked down, thinking. After a moment of thought Shadow nodded his head, accepting that he was Mephiles. And accepting his mission to help his master take over this pitiful planet. “I accept the mission.”

“Good... First I will need you to go out of this place, find a way out, and bring me as many pony residents as you can. Bring me as many as you can until I can get enough magic to escape this place.” Tirek said.

“Yes master.” Mephiles, formerly known as Shadow, said, “I’ll bring as many pathetic ponies as I can. And I think that this might help.”

Mephiles took out a jewel that glowed slightly red, but was still colorless, and showed it to Tirek.

“Uh... Y-Yes!” Tirek said, not even having the slightest clue what the jewel is, but still making the act up as he goes along, “You must use the power of that emerald Mephiles. Only then will you be able to get the power we need to take over this despicable planet.”

Mephiles nodded, “I shall bring you the ponies, master. And I shall use the power of this jewel to do so.”

“Good my apprentice, good. Now get going! We have a lot we must do.” Tirek said.

Mephiles nodded and turned, walking back to the shadows he had walked out from, determined to help his master get enough magic so that he may escape and they can complete their mission.

But Mephiles didn’t feel right. He had a thought in the back of his head that he can’t believe what he’s believing, and that he should keep his guard up.

Mephiles decided to use one of his abilities that he did actually remember he had, teleportation. He closed his eyes and looked up, disappearing into a blue line of energy and sent up.

Sonic stopped outside the town, causing the pony residents who were walking by to stop and look to Sonic as he carried the fillies with looks of shock.

The three fillies jumped off his back, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle still amazed at Sonic’s speed boost.

The ponies who lived in Ponyville began walking towards Sonic, whispering to each other about this new creature they were seeing right now.

“Don’t worry everypony!” Sweetie Belle said, “This is our friend, Sonic the Hedgehog!”

The crowd started murmuring the name to themselves, wondering more about who this ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ is.

“What’s going on here?” A voice asked, followed by five other ponies walking from the crowd to see the three fillies standing next to Sonic.

“What is that?” A blue flying pony asked.

“That’s Sonic the Hedgehog!” Scootaloo said.

“He’s the fastest thing alive!” Apple Bloom added, making Scootaloo scoff and roll her eyes.

“Where did he come from?” A purple pony asked.

“But first, how is he faster than me? Nopony is faster than me.” The blue flying pony added.

“Ah think where he came from is a better question Rainbow Dash.” An orange pony with a country accent like Apple Bloom’s added.

“Sonic, is it? Where did you come from?” The purple pony asked.

“Uh... I don’t really remember. All I remember is a group of people and I, and a planet being destroyed. But that’s really it.” Sonic said.

“Hm... Well my name is Twilight Sparkle. Pleasure to meet you.” The purple pony named Twilight said.

“Ah’m Applejack, nice to meet ya sugarcube.” The orange pony said.

“The name is Rarity, charmed.” A white pony said with a very ecentric accent.

“Myname’sPinkiePie!” A pink pony said, jumping up to Sonic and violently shaking his hand, “It’s so nice to meet you I can’t wait for us to become good friends, oh, what am I talking about? Of COURSE we’ll become just the BESTEST of friends!”

Sonic took his hand from Pinkie Pie’s grasp and back away from her a step, watching her nervously.

“And I’m Rainbow Dash!” The blue flying pony said, “And I’M the fastest thing alive! Nopony in all of Equestria could beat me in a race.”

“Oh yeah? Well, how about we test that?” Sonic said, getting ready to run in the direction opposite of the town.

“Let’s.” Rainbow Dash said, getting ready.

“Ooh! I can’t wait to see this!” Pinkie Pie said.

“Uh... But I’d really like to ask Sonic some questions, maybe see if we can jog up his memoy.” Twilight said.

“Don’t worry Twilight, I’ll just win this race and then you can ask him whatever things you need, okay?” Rainbow Dash said, “We’re going to race to that mountain far in the distance and then back.”

“I guess that would be alright. I would like to see just how fast Sonic can run. Alright. You two can race. But I want to ask Sonic some questions when you two are done.” Twilight said.

Sonic stood straight up as Pinkie Pie walked in front of him and Rainbow Dash to count down.

“3!” Pinkie Pie said.

Sonic grabbed his right glove and pulled it down, making it fit comfortably on his hand.

“2!” Pinkie Pie said, her voice getting higher.

Sonic turned to the crowd of ponies, a smile of confidence on his face, and gave them a thumbs up before turning his attention back forward for the race.

“1!!!!!!!” Pinkie Pie shouted, causing Sonic and Rainbow Dash to both go straight forward at supersonic speed, nearly causing the pink pony to fly off the ground.

Rainbow Dash kept a look of confidence on her face for a while, but quickly lost it as she saw Sonic getting ahead of her.

“What!? Impossible!” Rainbow Dash said.

“Impossible is a word I’m not all that familiar with!” Sonic said, giving himself a speed boost as he approached a random and out of nowhere loop that he quickly ran through, getting another speed boost that gave him and Rainbow Dash more distance between them.

Rainbow Dash began flapping her wings faster, giving herself a little more speed.

Sonic turned and saw she was catching up, so he knew if he was going to win he would have to go faster. So that’s what he did. He began speeding up and got to the mountain in a flash, running up it, jumping off, landing behind Rainbow Dash as she approached the mountain, turned around, and sped off towards Ponyville.

Rainbow Dash made it to the mountain and turned to see a blue streak headed towards Ponyville.

“What? No!” Rainbow Dash said, speeding after the blue blur.

Rainbow Dash went fast enough to get next to Sonic, and Sonic turned to her and gave her a thumbs up.

“You’re fast, I’ll give you that.” Sonic said.

“But how are you faster than me!?” Rainbow Dash asked, “It’s impossible!”

“I don’t know! I was just born fast, I think! But it must have taken me years to get used to it. But I do know one thing,” Sonic said, “You’re too slow!”

Sonic made a speed boost, leaving Rainbow Dash in the dust as he made a small sonic boom that got him to Ponyville, thankfully he was able to slow down enough to stop himself fast enough to not crash into anything.

The entire pony population in Ponyville was staring at Sonic as he walked to Twilight, their jaws agape.

“Alright Twilight, was it? I think I’m ready for those questions you want to ask me now.” Sonic said.

Rainbow Dash had her jaw agape like the rest of the town as she stayed in the air. “He... He beat me... He actually BEAT ME!” Rainbow Dash said.

Sonic turned to Rainbow Dash and gave a warm smile and a thumbs up. “I’ll see ya around.” He said, turning back to where Twilight was taking him.
