Night Angel: The Story of My Life
The Broken Promise: Princess Dark Angel
Previous ChapterAge: 15 Equestrian Years (EY)
Two years before Nightmare Moon
I paced inside my bedroom in front of my mirror. The reason? I was sure now. I wanted Celestia to revoke my status as an alicorn. I would miss her, Luna, Eclipse... Especially Eclipse. Our promise we made when we were five... We could still be best friends, right? Though we couldn't be seen together in public. Unless I made myself a new identity. What race will I choose? What will my life be? How will I hide my status of former alicorn? All these questions rushed through my head. Breaking from the stress, tears started leaking out of my orchid-magenta eyes.
Suddenly, I heard a bang. My ears pricked up at the noise, it sounded like it came from Luna's room. Wiping my tears away, I stood up, and snuck out of my room and walked towards Luna's. As I walked towards her room, I noticed that there was a trace of magic in the air, a sealing spell. Pressing my ear against Luna's door, I only heard bits and pieces of what was going on.
Luna was talking about ponies needing more time to sleep and extending the night but Celestia kept arguing about agriculture and other things. Things were getting heated. Luna started yelling and Celestia yelled back. I heard the sound of something ceramic breaking. Luna yelled at Celestia some more, saying that it was her fault that thing broke, sounding on the verge of tears. Celestia yelled one last thing and I heard hoofsteps approaching the door, so I fled to my room. Once there, I locked my door and took the chance to analyze what had just happened.
Luna and Celestia were arguing. They were the Rulers of Equestria! The bearers of the Elements of Harmony! The peacekeepers of the land! Don't they know that if they argue the nation could go through a civil war? And what about Eclipse? Will she be forced to choose a side? I would be gone by the time it would escalate into a civil war. So what side would I be on? Did it matter? What if Luna gets really depressed? Could dark magic come from this? Laying down on my bed, I started to cry as I pondered the final question.
Could I really leave when my sisters need me most?
Timeskip
I took a deep breath in and opened the door to the main throne room where Celestia, Luna and Eclipse were seated. As I started towards them, I started feeling choked up. Should I really do this? Yes. There was no other way to escape the popularity of being an alicorn. I have all the info I need memorized. My new identity, my place of residence, my career, everything. Hesitant, I stopped in front of the three alicorns and managed to speak after what felt like ages.
"Celestia?"
I muttered, hoping she heard me. Worried, I looked on.
"Yes, Angel?"
I know she was trying to comfort me but her voice sounded intimidating. Only then, I realized this was a one way trip. I looked at my sisters as tears started to form in my eyes. I didn't have any other choice. As I looked at the three alicorns, I thought about how I would miss them, and they would miss me. Eclipse looked into my eyes with a curious spark in hers. I just blinked and looked away, she reminded me of the promise I would be breaking for this. Finally, I got the courage to speak.
"I would like you to change my status as an alicorn to that of a pegasus."
