Chapters Ponymon - Battles Are Magic (Indigo Collection Volume 1)
West of Equestria is a secret region undiscovered by the princesses, where special creatures live in harmony with ponies. The ponies travel as trainers catching the many colorful creatures across this region called Ponymon. Soon they will have the strength to fight against other Ponymon and reach new experience levels to try to become the strongest within that region. That region, is known as Kanto.
It's a sunny day in the Kanto Region's Pallet Town. Today is the day three young ponies will get their first Ponymon. The starters a trainer can choose from are Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. Each Ponymon has their own advantage and disadvantage. Now this all seems a bit confusing now, but as a Ponymon Trainer travels, they will learn more about the Ponymon and figure out the different strategies they will use in battle.
RIIIIIING!
A pegasus suddenly wakes up breathing heavily. "What time is it...?" He looked over to his alarm clock. It was 8 AM! "Oh no! I overslept!" He quickly got out of bed, putting on his shirt, bag, and shoes. His mom waited for him downstairs. He walked down the steps and almost went out the door.
"Ash!" his mother called. "I'm glad to see you're finally awake. Professor Oak has been waiting for you for a while." She squeed. "I'm so excited right now. You're just like your father. So what Ponymon do you hope to get?"
Ash managed a smile and said, "I hope I get a Charmander."
"A fire type! I think that's a good choice!" She opened the door. "I hope you get the Ponymon you want!"
Ash walked out of the house and to Professor Oak's lab. He was stopped by a pony his age. "Hi Ash," the pony said.
"Hello," Ash replied.
"You came just in time to get a starter Ponymon. I'm just starting my journey now, in fact."
"May you tell me who you are in case we cross paths?"
"I'm Gary Oak."
Ash was shocked to hear this. "You mean you're related to the Professor?"
"I'm his grandson. Please do excuse me, I've got Ponymon to catch." He walked off towards Route 1. "See you later."
Ash continued walking to the lab. Professor Oak was then seen by the gate. "Ash, you're just in time," he said. "Follow me into the lab." Professor Oak walked in as Ash followed.
They went into a room where four Ponyballs sat in a table, each with a symbol matching its type. "Choose wisely, Ash. The Ponymon you select will be the Ponymon that you'll start with," the Professor explained.
Ash first looked at the Ponyball with a fire symbol. "This feels like a winner," he said excitedly. He opened it and there was no Charmander. "What!?"
"Sorry to say, but that Ponymon was taken by a pegasus that was really early."
Ash sighed and went over to the Ponyball with a water symbol. "Well, second time is the charm." He opened the Ponyball. Nothing.
"Water can flow real fast, I guess that's how it goes for that Ponymon."
Ash walked to the Ponyball with a grass and poison symbol. "I guess I can make my Ponymon double." He opened it. There was still nothing.
"Gee, why do so many ponies go for the dual-type?"
"Great..." Ash muttered.
"Don't get discouraged, I still have one left!" Professor Oak said hurriedly. Ash smiled. "However, the Ponymon in that ball is pretty fiesty."
"Hey, I can take care of it Professor," Ash replied.
"I hope you're right."
Ash grabbed the ponyball with the Electric Symbol on it. It automatically opened bringing out a flash of white light. It solidified into a yellow, brown, and black Ponymon.
" Pikachu!" it said.
Ash's eyes sparkled in joy. "Wow, a Pikachu!" The Pikachu jumped in joy. "I always liked Electric Types!"
"This Pikachu specializes in its Speed, making it easy to dodge attacks," the Professor explained.
Ash returned the Pikachu to its ball. "I'm gonna choose you, Pikachu."
The Professor then gave him five empty Ponyballs and a Ponydex. "You can use the Ponydex to find more info on Ponymon you encounter. Use these Ponyballs to catch Ponymon you want."
"Awesome! Thanks Professor!" Ash put the empty Ponyballs in his bag and his Ponydex on the side of his shirt. Ash left the lab and went back to his home where his mother was waiting.
"Oh Ash," she said. "I'm so glad you're going on an adventure. What Ponymon did you get?"
"I got a Pikachu," Ash replied.
His mom was shocked. "A Pikachu? You're just like your dad. A Ponymon Trainer that did not select one of the regular starters! I believe you should have this in case you get lost." She handed her son a Town Map. He then placed it in his bag. "Kanto is a big place," she continued, "and you may need this to decide where to go next. Now get out there and make me proud!"
Ash nodded and walked on to Route 1. He looked around the area. He first saw a Wild Pidgey. "Who's that Ponymon?" he asked himself. He got out the Ponydex and it recognized it instantly. Ash opened it up, revealing a screen with a Pidgey on it.
"016 - Pidgey is a Normal and Flying Type Ponymon. It flaps its wings at ground level to kick up blinding sand. First one met - Level 9."
"Not a bad Ponymon to start catching," Ash said. The Ponydex shown a picture of a Ponyball.
"In order to catch a Ponymon, you first must weaken the target. Strategy is important."
The Pidgey saw Ash and suddenly used Gust on him. He quickly dodged out of the way. "Getting a little rough, huh?" He then saw another Ponymon next to him about to battle the Pidgey. The Ponydex showed a picture of a Rattata.
"019 - Rattata is a Normal Type Ponymon. It'll bite anything when it attacks. First one met - Level 4."
Ash gulped and slowly backed away. "I don't want that to be me..." The Rattata jumped up into the air trying to bite Pidgey, but the tiny bird dodged and used Gust on Rattata, knocking it out. "I guess these two are common around here." He flew up to a treetop to get a closer look. He looked to see if there are any other Ponymon in the area. He saw some Spearow in the area. He looked at the Ponydex again.
"021 - Spearow is a Normal and Flying type Ponymon. Inept at Flying High. First one met - Level 8."
Ash flew down to the Spearow. He smiled as he put away his Ponydex and got out an empty Ponyball. "I think I can catch it if I get it off guard. Ponyball, Go!" He threw the Ponyball at one. That Spearow suddenly turned into Red Light and entered the ball. It rocked back and forth for a few moments. The Spearow escaped as White Light and solidified again. It used Screech to call the rest of the flock. The rest of the Spearow appeared and flew right for Ash. "Uh oh, gotta fly!"
He quickly got his wings unfolded and took off quickly. The Spearow came closer towards him as they kept flying. Ash stopped at a dead end. What am I gonna do? The Spearow will take me down if I don't do something quick! he thought. Ash then got an idea. Wait a minute, Flying is weak against Electric Types. Maybe Pikachu can defeat them! He got out Pikachu's Ponyball. "Go get 'em Pikachu!" He threw Pikachu's Ponyball.
Pikachu came out of the ball in a flash of White Light and solidified. "Pikachu!" it cried out. The Spearow started targeting Pikachu.
"Quick Pikachu, Thundershock attack!" Ash called out. Pikachu sent out a lightning bolt and shocked the Spearow. There soon was an explosion in between Pikachu and the Spearow. Pikachu hit the ground and weakly got up as the Spearow were sent flying towards the sky.
Twinkle!
Ash returned Pikachu to its Ponyball. "Don't worry Pikachu, I'll heal you up in no time." He flew up high and towards home. Another pegasus saw him and quickly followed.
"What's the rush young trainer?" she asked Ash.
Ash suddenly stopped and flew back down to the ground and turned to the pony. "My Pikachu is in critical condition and I need to find a way to heal him fast."
"Don't worry, I'll lead you to Viridian City's Ponymon Center. It's just up ahead and it won't take long to heal your Ponymon there." She trotted the other way back on the main road. Ash followed.
"Thanks so much, whoever you are."
"Call me Misty," the pegasus said smiling.
"Nice to meet you Misty, I'm Ash."
Misty chuckled softly. "What a nice name."
Author's Note
Okay, Ash didn't catch the Rattata because it's actually a reference to the games where if one faints you're unable to catch it. This is going to be one of the rare occasions where Ash would not catch a Ponymon in this manner.
If any mistakes or inconsistent facts are found, let me know in the comments below. I am always open to suggestions.
Ponymon - Battles Are Magic (Indigo Collection Volume 1)
Ash and Misty walked through Route 1, avoiding any further dangers of Wild Ponymon. They managed to get to Viridian City before sunset. As they walked over there, an officer named Jenny was giving an announcement to all the citizens. "Attention everypony, I know you're all worried about the latest robberies, but please be on the lookout for anypony acting suspicous," she said. She then saw Ash and Misty walking to the Ponymon Center. "Hold up!" she said running up to them. Ash gasped and stopped.
"Ash, you act like you never seen an officer before," Misty said.
"Sorry, but there have been a lot of robberies in this city from a bunch of Ponymon thieves," Jenny said to Ash.
"What kind of Ponymon thieves?" Ash asked out of curiosity.
"They call themselves Team Rocket," Jenny explained. "They steal rare and valuable Ponymon for profit."
"I'm not one of them, I'm just a Trainer looking for the Viridian City Ponymon Center. My Pikachu is in critical condition after a battle with a bunch of Spearow."
"Oh, well I'll give you two an escort to that center right away." She walked ahead as Ash and Misty followed.
It took a few minutes to get to the Ponymon Center. Ash and Misty walked through the doors. "Thanks a lot," Ash said to Jenny before walking in.
"You're welcome," she replied before walking off.
Ash walked up to the front desk. A pink pony named Joy came up to greet him. "Welcome to the Ponymon Center. How are you doing on this fine night?"
"I'm actually in a bit of an emergency. My Pikachu is in critical condition," Ash replied.
"How critical are we talking?" Ash opened up Pikachu's Ponyball and the tired and weak Ponymon came out in a flash of white light. Joy gasped. "You got here just on time." She pushed a button to call out a stretcher. Her Ponymon, Chansey, came into the room with one. Ash turned on his Ponydex.
"113 - Chansey is a Normal Type Ponymon. A rare and elusive Ponymon that is said to give happiness to whoever finds one. First one met: Level 23."
Pikachu was placed on the stretcher and was sent to a healing room. "Your Ponymon will be healed momentarily," Joy said smiling before exiting the room.
Misty had a nervous feeling about Team Rocket. "Ash, if this Team Rocket is what that officer told us, do you think they'll try to attack this Ponymon Center?"
"Don't be silly," Ash said calmly. "They're probably in another city or something."
The computer's phone started ringing. Ash quickly went over to it and turned it on. "This is Ash. Who's calling?" The screen switched to Professor Oak's back.
"Hi Ash, this is Professor Oak. Don't you recognize me?"
"I don't actually. I don't remember seeing the back of your head." Oak panicked and quickly switched cameras.
"Sorry 'bout that. Your mom called asking me to see if you made it to Viridian City on time."
"Well, I'm here Professor."
"Well, yeah. You called here, I answered the call, and here we are."
"I made a small side bet with Gary to see if you caught one Ponymon other than Pikachu today," Oak said in a silent manner. "I bet 1000 bits if he was wrong about you not being able to pull it off."
"Money isn't everything Professor..." Ash said facehoofing himself. The Professor sighed. "However I did see four different Ponymon today."
"Excellent, you've done well on your first day Ash." His doorbell rang. "It was nice talking to you Ash, take care." The camera turned off. Ash could faintly hear him say, "PIZZA TIME!"
"I don't think I'll ever understand you Professor..." Ash walked back over to Misty. "I wonder how long the healing is going to take, Misty."
"I'm sure it'll end before you know it," Misty replied.
BEEP!
Nurse Joy came out with a healed up Pikachu on her back. "It turned out your Pikachu was low in Defense Power. I got it back up to base level with the right medication."
"Thanks Joy," Ash said, returning Pikachu to its Ponyball.
A siren started sounding as Jenny came onto the intercom. "Your attention please! Our radars have caught a glimpse of a balloon of two Team Rocket members! If you have a Ponymon out, return it to its Ponyball!"
On the balloon the two members started making comments on what she said. "I didn't know the security was strong here," said the red pony.
"And how dare she treat us like we're criminals!" the purple pony added. He turned his head to the red pony. "Let's show them the true wrath of Team Rocket!"
"Ekans, Koffing, attack!" The two threw two Ponyballs. They broke the glass and opened up when they hit the ground. Ekans and Koffing appeared as white light and then solidified. Koffing created a smokescreen which filled half the air in the center. Ash gave an unsatisfying look.
"Who are you? Show yourself!" he demanded.
"Don't be frightened little colt, allow us to introduce ourselves," the two said in unison before starting their motto.
"To protect Equus from devastation, to unite all ponies within our nation. To denounce the evils of truth and love, to extend our reach for the stars above. Jessie. James. Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light! Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
"What do you two want?" Ash asked.
"We're here for the Ponymon within this center for our plan," James replied.
"Well you're not taking my Pikachu!"
"Pikachu? Ha!" Jessie taunted. "We're not interested in that little electric rat."
"You don't understand! This is a hospital for sick Ponymon!" Joy said.
"Yeah, but a few gems could be found within all the rest. Ekans, grab Nurse Joy!" Ekans lunged forward. Joy quickly dodged. "Keep following her Ekans!" Ash quickly motioned Misty and Joy to follow him. They ran to where the Ponyballs were stored to hide.
"Emergency Transport to Pewter City is active," the computer suddenly said transporting the unguarded Ponyballs.
"We must save the Ponymon," Joy said. Ash and Misty nodded in agreement.
James's Koffing suddenly blew the door open. "We have you now," James said smiling at himself. "Do you surrender or will you fight?" Jessie walked to the left side of James.
"You'd give up now if you were smart," Jessie added.
Ash's eyes narrowed. "It's time," he said as he got out Pikachu's Ponyball. "Pikachu, I choose you!" He threw Pikachu's Ponyball and Pikachu came out.
"Koffing, smokescreen!" James ordered. Koffing suddenly emitted smoke into the air making Pikachu, Misty, and Joy start coughing. "When Smokescreen is used, your Ponymon's evasiveness lowers. Now Koffing, Tackle!" His Ponymon tackled Pikachu and it suddenly got paralyzed.
"Alright, Koffing's paralyzed!" Ash cheered.
"Koffing, get up." Koffing tried but couldn't move from it's status effect. "What!?"
"That rookie's winning!?" Jessie added.
"Pikachu, Thundershock!" Pikachu sent out a lightning bolt which zapped Koffing and the cohorts. Koffing started lighting up like it was about to use Explosion. The Team Rocket Cohorts started panicking.
BOOM!
Team Rocket was sent flying out of the Ponymon Center. "That Pikachu is pretty powerful," James said.
"Let's try and catch it next time," Jessie replied.
"It's time Team Rocket blasted off!" James finally called out to Ash.
"You may have won this round but we'll be back!" Jessie finished.
Twinkle!
"Goodbye!" Ash and Misty called out after seeing Team Rocket disappear.
Pikachu breathed heavily after the battle. "Pikachu, return!" Pikachu was sent back to its Ponyball.
"Thanks so much for saving the Ponymon Center," Joy said smiling at Ash.
"You're Welcome," Ash replied.
Ash and Misty left the Ponymon Center with the sun starting to rise. "Take care you two! Good luck on your journey!" Joy called out.
Ash and Misty made it safely to the enterance of the Viridian Forest. Ash had a few questions to ask Misty. "Hey Misty, why are you following me around?" he asked.
"I want to help you on your journey to be a Ponymon Master," she replied.
"A Ponymon Master...?"
"You didn't think about entering the Ponymon League?"
"WHAT!?"
Ponymon - Battles Are Magic (Indigo Collection Volume 1)
Ash and Misty safely made it to the exit of the Viridian Forest. They were soon stopped by a random hole in the ground. "Who would've dug this hole?" Ash asked as he looked down.
"I'd be careful Ash, I sense trouble around here," Misty said worriedly.
A voice called from the hole. "Prepare for trouble since there is nothing to be found."
It was soon followed by another. "Make it double because this is Operation Ground and Pound." James's Koffing flew up with the Team Rocket Cohorts hanging on and flying out of the hole before saying the rest of their self-introduction.
"To protect Equus from devastation. To unite all Ponies within our nation. To denounce the evils of Truth and Love, to extend our reach for the stars above. I am Jessie and I am James. Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light! Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
Ash face-hoofed himself. "Why must we run into you twice in one day?"
"Why do we have to fall into our own trap?" Jessie added.
"Why did we add two lines into our motto?" James asked himself.
"What's with all the questions?" Misty finally asked.
"Look Team Rocket, let's just cut to the chase," Ash said to the Cohorts. "I really need to get to the Pewter City gym so I can get my first badge, so I'm not really in the mood to battle you ponies right now."
"Oh yeah, we forgot about that," James replied. "Well good luck!"
Jessie gave a nasty glare at James. "You do realize you're just letting him go to the gym and he'll be ahead of us?"
"Well yes, but you need eight badges to comp--"
"I already know all this stuff James. Just attack while they're confused!"
"I heard the entire thing," Ash suddenly broke in. "Pikachu, Thundershock!" Pikachu suddenly jumped in front of Ash and let out a bolt of electricity that shocked Team Rocket.
"Let's run," James said running off. Jessie and Koffing quickly followed.
"Looks like Team Rocket's dashing away again!" the Cohorts said before disappearing.
"That was weird..." Misty said after a short silence. Ash nodded in agreement. They walked on until they came to a cliff showing all of Pewter City.
"This is the place," Ash said as he looked at the city.
"Pewter City's gym uses Rock Type Ponymon. Defeating this gym will give you the Boulder Badge. I hope you do well over there Ash," Misty explained.
"Wait, you're not gonna cheer me on?"
"I just have to head to the Pony Market so I can pick up a package from a friend in Cerulean City."
"Oh..."
"I'll see you later Ash!" she flew away.
Ash got out Pikachu and Pidgeotto's Ponyballs. "Pikachu, Pidgeotto, return!" The two Ponymon turned into red light and went into the Ponyballs. Ash then flew over to the Pewter Gym. "This is it," he said to himself before walking in.
The lights suddenly turned on as the gym leader started walking to his spot in the gym. Ash saw the pony had a horn lit up and a shirt that is green. The horn's light dimmed. "Welcome to the Pewter Gym," he said to Ash. "I'm Brock, the gym's leader."
Ash smiled at him. "I'm Ash, a Ponymon Trainer from Pallet Town."
Brock's horn lit up again as the scoreboard turned on. "We'll use two Ponymon, no time limit, and you're the only one to make substitutions."
"Okay, I agree by those terms," Ash replied.
Brock got out his first Ponyball. "Go, Geodude!" Geodude came out in a flash of white light and materialized.
"Cool, a Geodude!" Ash got out Pidgeotto's Ponyball. "Pidgeotto, I choose you!" Brock stifled his laugh as Pidgeotto appeared. "What's so funny?"
"Pidgeotto's a Flying Type and Geodude is a Rock Type. Flying Types have a disadvantage."
Ash sighed hearing this. "I might as well give it my best shot. Pidgeotto, gust attack!" Ash commanded. Pidgeotto suddenly let the wind move in crazy directions while kicking up dust on the stadium. Geodude moved around to try and stay away from the gust.
"Geodude, use Rock Toss!" Geodude picked up a part of the ground and suddenly threw it at Pidgeotto. It suddenly flew off the stadium.
Ash turned around. "Pidgeotto, are you okay?" Pidgeotto struggled to get up but fell onto the ground swirly eyed. "Pidgeotto, return." Ash got out Pidgeotto's Ponyball and it turned into red light as it went into the Ponyball. "That was a bad move... Alright, I choose you Pikachu!" He got out Pikachu's Ponyball and it suddenly appeared from its Ponyball. "Okay, let's go!"
"Geodude, Rock Toss again!" Geodude picked up another part of the ground.
"Pikachu, use Thundershock now!" Pikachu sent out a lightning bolt at the Geodude shocking it. The Geodude lost its grip on the rock and it dropped on the Ponymon.
"Geodude return!" Geodude returned to its Ponyball as red light. "It's the final round. Onix, go!" Brock then threw his second Ponyball. It opened and Onix appeared in a huge flash of white light. It suddenly materialized. The Ponyball, however, mysteriously rolled to one side of the gym. Ash and Pikachu gasped in surprise.
Ash quickly got out his Ponydex. It suddenly scanned the Ponymon.
"095 - Onix is a Rock and Ground Type Ponymon. It burrows at high speed in search of food. The trail it leaves behind becomes homes for Digletts."
"A Ponymon like that must be extremely powerful."
"That's right," Brock replied. "Onix, use wrap!" Onix wrapped its tail around Pikachu. Pikachu's static ability caused Onix to become paralyzed. "What!?"
"A physical attack that lands on Pikachu Paralyzes the Ponymon on contact!" Brock gasped. "I thank Team Rocket for battling me and letting me see it before I finally battled you. Pikachu, Quick Attack!" Pikachu got out of Onix's grip and knocked its head on the Rock Type making it struggle to stay up. "Alright, use Thundershock!" Pikachu used Thundershock but it barely had any effect on the Onix, but it also reflected onto the gym's ceiling causing a fire.
"Hang in there Onix, try to use Dig!" Onix started digging its way underground. The fire started getting detected by the sprinkler system and it started to rain down onto the stadium. Onix stopped digging and felt extreme pain from the water and got knocked out. "Onix, no!"
Ash gasped. "Onix, hang in there!" He quickly grabbed Onix's Ponyball. "Return!" Onix returned to the Ponyball in a flash of red light. The sprinkler system then stopped. Brock managed a weak smile as Ash handed the Ponyball back to him.
"Ash," he said, "that was really brave saving Onix like that."
"Thanks Brock. You really had me during the first battle."
"I believe you should have this as appreciation for your win." He got out the Boulder Badge and gave it to Ash.
"Thanks again." He smiled at him before turning away to exit the gym.
"Ash wait!" Ash stopped walking and turned to him. "I know you're on a journey to become a Ponymon Master, but..." Ash walked over to him. "I always wanted to be more than a Gym Leader. I actually wanna be a Ponymon Breeder. Do you think that you can allow me to follow you on your journey in case you get into trouble?"
Ash smiled and nodded. "It'll be an honor Brock." Brock ran over to him. "I better rest up my Ponymon before we head out for our next gym badge."
"Let me take you to the Pewter City Ponymon Center." Brock lead the way as Ash followed.
Ash, his Pikachu, and Brock entered the Ponymon Center but were shocked to see Misty standing near the doorway. "I was expecting you to head over here Ash," Misty said in a way that made Ash shiver a bit in fear. "Tell me, did you win or lose?"
"I won Misty," Ash said showing the new badge he got from the gym. Misty gasped.
"I'm even going to join him in his travels around Kanto," Brock added.
"Really Brock? I am too!" Misty replied.
"Whoa!" Ash said shocked. "You two know each other!?"
"Even though we're separated by a huge mountain doesn't mean we can still see each other."
"Wow."
"Well we need to head to the next city soon so go and rest up your Ponymon Ash."
Ash nodded and he walked up to the Ponymon Center desk.
Meanwhile with Team Rocket, they were tiredly walking over to Pewter City. "I can't believe that kid and his Pikachu beat us again..." James said. A device rang in Jessie's shirt pocket.
She got it out and turned it on. "We've got a mission for you," a voice came from it. "Steal the Moon Stone at Mount Moon. You won't be doing this one alone, you'll have backup as well... a talking Meowth. Do not fail me like you did with the Ponymon Center in Viridian City."

05 - The Moonstone Caper Part 1
After Ash's victory in the Pewter City gym and a new friend joining his quest, Ash, Misty, and Brock now head to Cerulean City for Ash's second gym badge. But on their way, they stop at Mount Moon, the home of the Clefairy and their Moonstone. Many tales have been told about this mysterious landmark, but very little has been proved about it.
"Hey Brock," Ash started to say, "do you know anything about Mount Moon?"
"I actually do," Brock replied. "There was a meteor that the ponies back in Pewter say it crashed into it back in prehistoric times."
"Is it really true?" Misty asked.
"Misty, if a meteor hit a mountain, I bet their wouldn't even be one," Ash replied.
"That meteor is called the Moonstone," Brock continued. Misty blushed because she thinks the name sounds romantic.
An earth pony screamed for help. "Hey, what's going on over there?" Ash asked himself as he ran towards the earth pony. He was blocked by a flock of Zubat that was attacking the pony. "Oh no you don't! Pikachu, I choose you!" He threw Pikachu's Ponyball and Pikachu appeared. "I heard about these Ponymon, they like to stay in caves and go through night areas. But why are they attacking that pony in the daylight?" Pikachu shrugged. "Pikachu, Thundershock now!" Pikachu suddenly charged up and shot a lightning bolt at the Zubat making them fly away except for one which got paralyzed.
"Go, Ponyball!" Brock suddenly through a Ponyball that caught the Zubat without fail.
Ash walked up to the Earth Pony which had a gray color to his skin, a brown mane and tail with brown eyes to match, as well as black rimmed glasses, and a gray shirt. "Are you okay?" Ash asked.
"Yeah, thanks a million," the colt replied. "Most ponies say their best friend is a Ponymon. With you two I totally believe it now. I'm glad that when you took out those Zubat I was able to see that very moment!"
"Why were the Zubat attacking you anyways, and who are you?"
"I am Seymour, a scientist. Who are you three?"
"I'm Ash, Ash Ketchum, and those are my friends Misty and Brock."
Seymour smiled in delight. "Follow me Ash, I wanna tell you why the Zubat attacked me." Ash, Seymour, and Pikachu walked into Mount Moon's Cave.
Seymour pointed to the lights on the cave's top. "The cave is all lit up here. Somepony must have strung these lights through one end to another. The Ponymon here really need the dark and the light is upsetting them and making them extremely confused."
"I guess that's why they left the cave and attacked you," Ash replied.
"The Paras are planting their mushrooms here and the Sandshrew are all dried up. I am here to protect them from troublemakers who attack these caves. I'm afraid it is all because of the Moonstone. It is able to evolve certain Ponymon into stronger forms according to the professors and the scientists in Kanto. The troublemakers must be after it for that reason alone. May you and your friends help me out today and keep them away?"
Ash nodded and said, "Alright Seymour, I'll help you out as much as I can." A Clefairy suddenly passed by holding a Moonstone. "Huh?" He got out his Ponydex to analyze the Ponymon.
"035 - Clefairy is a Fairy Type Ponymon (originally Normal Type). This is a rare Ponymon that is believed to live in Mount Moon. First one met - Level 31."
"It is best if we let it stay here with the others," Seymour said to an extremely happy Ash. Ash suddenly calmed down hearing this and nodded in agreement. The Clefairy suddenly cried out for help. "What the--?"
A Meowth suddenly appeared in front of the Clefairy. "Alright Clefairy, hand over the Moonstone and no Ponymon gets hurt," it said. Ash and Seymour suddenly rushed to the rescue.
Seymour gasped. "It's a talking Meowth!"
Ash shook his head in an unsatisfied way. "Let me guess, Team Rocket is the one's behind this?"
"Let us stop them before more trouble is caused," Seymour added.
"Trouble?" said a voice.
"Make it double," said another. Jessie and James appeared as they started their self-introduction.
"To protect Equus from devastation. To unite all ponies within our nation. To denounce the evils of truth and love. To extend our reach for the stars above. I am Jessie, and I am James. Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light! Surrender now or prepare to fight! Meowth! That's right!"
"Don't you two get tired of saying the same thing over and over again?" Ash said smiling weirdly.
"You're just jealous because you're not on our team," Jessie replied.
"Well I'd never join you two... Besides, with those lights you confused all the Ponymon in Mount Moon."
"Oh the ungreatfulness, what ever shall we do?" James said sarcastically.
"Anyways, with the Moonstone we can evolve Team Rocket's Ponymon. With the Moonstone, nopony can stop us!" Jessie explained.
"You'll never get away with this!" Ash replied.
"You wanna rock? Let's rock!" Jessie and James sent out their Ponymon Ekans and Koffing.
"Stand back, I've got a Ponymon too! Zubat, I choose you!" Seymour said as he threw his Ponyball. It opened and a Zubat appeared.
"Pidgeotto, the spotlight is on you!" Ash threw Pidgeotto's Ponyball. Pidgeotto then appeared out of it.
"Koffing, use your Smog attack!" James commanded. Koffing suddenly emitted smoke through the cave.
"Alright, use Gust!" Ash and Seymour said in unison. Pidgeotto and Zubat flapped their wings as fast as they can to make the smoke disappear. Ekans took the chance to then use Bite on Pidgeotto. The Ponymon dodged just in time. Koffing then tackled Zubat at the same time Pidgeotto dodged. Meowth then made a run for it.
"Zubat, use Supersonic!" Seymour called out. Zubat then sent out a signal that confused Ekans and Koffing into attacking each other. Ekans used wrap on Koffing as it used Smog.
"What's wrong with you two? Stop!" James said.
"Now Pidgeotto, use Whirlwind!" Ash commanded. Pidgeotto flapped its wings that caused the air to move through to another part of the cave. Koffing and Ekans got blown into Jessie and James and they flew out of Mount Moon.
"Team Rocket's blasting off again!" James said.
"This isn't over, be ready for Round 2!" Jessie called out to Ash before the four disappeared.
Twinkle!
"Wait a second, Meowth didn't disappear with them..." Ash said to himself. Pikachu pointed to where Meowth went. "Oh no!"
Misty and Brock followed the Clefairy up to a bridge. On the other side of the bridge, Meowth guarded the other way. "I have you now!" he said. Clefairy jumped to the side and Misty tried to make Clefairy break its fall. Meowth then landed on a rock. "Okay, now give me the Moonstone."
"No way Meowth!" Misty threw a Ponyball and a Staryu came out. I hope Ash can't see this... she thought. "Alright Staryu use Swift!" Staryu then emitted a bunch of stars that hit Meowth. "Now use your Water Gun attack while its mouth is open!"
"Wait don't do it!" Meowth replied in shock. Staryu then fired a water stream at Meowth causing him to fill up with water. He couldn't resist the pressure and he blasted away as the water went out of his mouth. "I'll remember this Misty!"
Twinkle!
"Staryu, return!" Staryu went back into Misty's Ponyball. "Great job out there. Take a good rest."
Ash, Pikachu, and Seymour were then seen running to them. "Is everypony alright?" Ash asked.
"Yeah, Brock was able to send Meowth flying with his Onix," Misty replied, hiding the truth of what really happened.
Author's Note
(I have decided that even though Clefairy is really a Normal Type in Gen 1, it should be a Fairy Type instead.)

Author's Note
Sorry for the incredibly long delay. Though because of the release of Sun and Moon, I've created several new ideas for this fiction, but this will also require a few changes to the entirety of this series of fictions later, so be on the look out for those added bonuses. Take care everypony!
06 - The Moonstone Caper Part 2
It was sunset on Mount Moon. Our heroes have already dealt with Team Rocket and Meowth, but they are eager to know more about the Mountain. Will they find out about Clefairy's Moonstone? Ash and Seymour are eager to know.
Ash, Misty, and Brock decide to take a rest near the entrance. Brock got out a can and opened it up. "Hey, what's that?" Ash asked.
"This is Ponymon Food that I made from a special recipe," Brock replied. "I mix and match special ingredients for each Ponymon Type." Brock gave a piece to Ash's Pikachu. It nibbled on it happily.
"How is it Pikachu?" Ash asked. Pikachu gave a satisfied smile.
"Hey maybe I should try some," Seymour said grabbing a piece. Misty facehoofed herself thinking to herself that this was NOT happening. Seymour then ate the piece. He almost hurled in his mouth.
"Well you probably don't like it, but the Ponymon do..." Brock said quietly to himself.
Pikachu then ran over to the Clefairy Misty just rescued. They started talking to each other. "Hey Pikachu, what's up?" Ash asked his trusty starter. Pikachu gave a signal like it's saying follow me! The two ran off into the woods. Ash and Seymour followed. "Where are we heading off to?"
By the time they reached their destination, it was already nightfall. Pikachu pointed to another cave. "Ash, look!" Seymour said. Ash looked at the entrance. The Ponymon, Ash, and Seymour soon went into the cave only to see a giant stone in the center of an open ceiling cave. The two stared in wonder at the stone glittering under the full moon. "Th-the ore of the M-m-m-moonstone," Seymour said, still in awe.
"The Moonstone legend is true then," Ash added. Ash then saw the Clefairy put the piece of the Moonstone in between two other pieces. A ring glowed around the Moonstone as well as itself. More Clefairy then walked over to it. One walked over to them and started communicating to Ash and Seymour. "I think it's saying hello," Ash said to Seymour. Then the Clefairy started dancing around the Moonstone.
"Amazing, the Clefairy have formed a society of their very own," Seymour finally replied.
"What was Clefairy telling you anyways Pikachu?" Ash said to his Ponymon. Pikachu started talking to Ash about what the Clefairy were up to. "The Clefairy, are saying prayers to the Moonstone?" His Pikachu nodded. "Awesome!"
"It all makes sense!" Seymour suddenly said. "Ponies... and Ponymon... they were destined to be together and ride through the infinite cosmos and to make the long journey to the stars above! Maybe... just maybe... Ponymon were around through the birth of the Ponies..."
"I guess that goes for everypony," Ash added, "even Team Rocket."
"Oh what a touching moment," James interrupted from the cave entrance. "Too bad it all ends here." Jessie and Meowth suddenly appeared as well.
"You three just don't know when to quit," Ash said back completely forgetting the last thing he said. "Can't you see the Clefairy are happy? Get out of here!"
"Not so fast!" James threw Koffing's Ponyball. It opened and his Ponymon appeared. "Use your Smokescreen attack now!" Koffing then emitted its smoke around the cave.
"Oh no, not this again!" Ash said completely unprepared. Brock's Zubat suddenly appeared using its Whirlwind attack. The smoke suddenly cleared as Brock ran over to them.
"The Moonstone vanished!" Ash said looking at the hole that took its place. "Brock, do you think you can use Onix and make it go after Team Rocket with me and Pikachu?"
"It is worth the shot," Brock replied as he threw Onix's Ponyball. Onix then appeared. "Zubat return!" Zubat went back to its Ponyball. "Onix, use dig to catch Team Rocket before they escape." Onix suddenly dug its way underground.
"Pikachu, hop on!" Ash commanded. Pikachu mounted onto Ash. He took a running start and then flew out of the cave.
Team Rocket was seen riding down a hill with the Moonstone in a cart laughing happily. "This is what happens when a plan works! Good thinking Meowth!" James said.
"It was nothing, really!" the talking Meowth replied.
Onix suddenly appeared from the ground stopping Team Rocket. The cart snapped and the Moonstone landed on the ground as the Cohorts landed on the ground weakly. Ash then flew over to them and landed on the ground. "Gotcha!" he taunted.
"You won't get away with this," James said. "Once we're back at HQ we will truly be unstoppable."
"The Moonstone can't work on your Ponymon," Ash replied smiling. He paused. "But I know one species that can." As if on cue, Clefairy started coming out of the hole Onix dug. They surrounded Team Rocket while one went over to Ash. His Pikachu jumped down to the Clefairy. It gave a jolt of electricity to the Pikachu charging it up. Pikachu's cheeks then started discharging electricity. "Did you just teach it a new move?" Clefairy nodded and tried to explain what it was. "Thunderbolt?" he asked the Clefairy. It nodded. "Awesome!" Then the Clefairy surrounding Team Rocket started waving their fingers back and forth like a metronome.
"What are they doing?" Jessie and Meowth weakly asked.
"That move is called Metronome ," James replied. "It allows the user of the move to use any move at random."
Pikachu started moving its head side to side. The Clefairy started to light up like they were going to perform Self Destruct. "Ah! Run away!" Meowth called out.
"Not this time Meowth, Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu suddenly lit up with electricity and sent a huge bolt of lightnig at Team Rocket zapping them in place. The ground suddenly cracked around Team Rocket.
"Oh no!" the Cohorts said in unison. The Clefairy suddenly exploded in unison. (Well, they're still alive but they're surrounded in an explosion they emitted.) The Moonstone also shattered into many fragments. "Blasting off twice, that isn't so nice!"
Twinkle!
The Moonstone suddenly fell down slowly on some of the Clefairy evolving them into Clefable. Brock and Seymour ran up to Ash. "The Moonstone is destroyed, but it seems as though the Clefairy are evolving," Seymour said in an amazed way.
"Those are Clefable, one of the rarest Ponymon here in Kanto!" Brock replied.
"For your troubles you two, I wanna give you these." Seymour pulled out eight rare candies. "These will guarantee that your Ponymon will evolve into stronger forms!" Ash put four into his bag as well as Brock.
"Thanks Seymour. I hope we will meet each other again," Ash said smiling.
"You're Welcome! Take care now!" Ash, Pikachu, and Brock then walked off. Clefairy waved goodbye to Ash.
Ash, Pikachu and Brock met up with Misty at a fork in the road. "So, how'd it go?" she asked.
"Everything turned out alright in the end," Ash replied.
"I'm glad to hear," Misty replied.
Ash looked at a sign behind her. "Hey, if we take a right it'll take us straight to Cerulean City!"
"I guess we were heading the right way," Brock replied. "There is something else written here."
"I wonder what it says." Ash looked at the bottom right of it and read the writing. "Gary was here, I thought I should tell everypony." Ash looked up. "We can't let him be one step ahead of us. Everypony, let's go!" Ash lead the way with his Pikachu. Brock and Misty quickly followed.

Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter. Ponymon - Battles Are Magic (Indigo Collection Volume 1)
08 - The Hidden Secret of Bulbasaur!
Ash, Misty, and Brock have just left Cerulean City after Ash's victory at the gym. "Hey, Brock," Ash said, "where should we go to now?"
"It seems as though the next city we need to go to is Vermillion City," he replied. "The leader of the gym uses Electric Ponymon. I believe a Ground Type might be able to defeat them."
They soon started walking across a bridge with a raging river on the bottom. "Whatever you do, don't look down," Ash told Misty. But Misty tripped and caused one side of the bridge to break. The three heroes soon grabbed on. "Well that didn't work out the way I hoped..."
"Ash, I don't think I can hold on much longer!" Brock said with his hooves slipping.
"You're a Unicorn, you can teleport to the other side!" Ash said back.
"Oh yeah I completely forgot." Brock then used his magic to teleport himself to where the Bridge was going to lead the trainers to. Ash and Misty then used their wings to fly up and over to Brock. "Let's make sure we never do that again..."
Ash walked ahead with his Pikachu out of his Ponyball. A lot of Grass Ponymon were around the area he was in. He then saw a Ponymon that really interested him. "I wonder what that one is." He got closer to it and noticed it was a Bulbasaur. He got out his Ponydex to try and get more information.
"001 - Bulbasaur is a Grass and Poison Type Ponymon. A strange seed was planted on it at birth. The plant sprouts and grows with the Ponymon. First one met - Level 9"
Ash put the Ponydex away. "That seems like a really strong Ponymon." Misty tried to go over to it so she can make a sneaky capture (since Ash found it near a small pond). The Bulbasaur turned away. Misty got a Ponyball out and--
CRACK! BANG!
Misty fell into a hole that was covered up. Ash rushed to help her giving the Ponymon enough time to make a run for it. "Misty are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just not my day."
"You know, I think something strange is going on. First the bridge broke, then a hole appeared, it sounds to me like this entire area is a trap for ponies."
"Yeah, it sure looks that way," Brock agreed.
The three kept walking and saw a small cottage with a lot of Ponymon. They looked around and thought it is a paradise for young Ponymon. Soon enough, Ash saw a young mare in front of him. "Hello there young trainer," she said. "I'm Melanie, the caretaker of this area. Who are you?"
"I'm Ash Ketchum," Ash replied. "I see you take care of the Ponymon around here."
"This is a place where the Ponymon come and relax. When a Ponymon gets abandoned or injured, they come here so I can take care of them and make them feel better. Then they leave into the wild."
"So does that mean you're a doctor?" Misty asked walking to them.
"No," she replied. "I'm not qualified to be that. You see, the Ponymon here don't battle so they relax and try to recover."
Ash smiled. "Wow, who knew there can be more than one harmonious area around Kanto. But now that I think about it, I wonder who dug the hole and made the bridge real weak."
"Sorry about that, I was the one that set the traps," Melanie said. "I wanted to catch ponies before they caught any Ponymon here. Since you were caught, I guess they work. I needed to find a way to protect the many injured Ponymon around here."
Team Rocket's Jessie, James, and Meowth were currently crossing the trapped bridge at that moment. "Just imagine a hundred Ponymon all at our disposal when we catch them," Jessie said grinning with delight.
"How exactly will we carry them all?" James replied.
"We'll figure that out later..." Meowth said to James. The three started to hear a ripping sound, then looked down at the bridge to notice one of the ropes being pulled apart. The bridge then snapped in half and they fell into the river. "Why!? Why does all this stuff happen to us!?"
"Now are those traps able to keep robbers away?" Ash asked Melanie.
"I'm not sure, why do you ask?"
"Well, I'm pretty sure they have to be really bad at their job to not watch where they're going."
"If it is the third hole they fallen into, then they must be hidden cleverly."
"Are there any net traps as well?"
"There sure are, I'm surprised you didn't fall into one."
Misty and Brock, however, were taking care of the Water Ponymon on the other side of the resting area. The Bulbasaur they met earlier walked over to the two and decided to help out. "Can you imagine having a Ponymon like that?" Misty asked Brock.
"I sure can," Brock replied. "I think it would be great to have a Ponymon that is strong-hearted towards others." The Bulbasaur nodded.
Above the clouds, Team Rocket were flying a stadium. "Now this is what I call a better plan," James said to Jessie.
"Absolutely," Jessie replied. "We can catch hundreds of Ponymon from up here."
"They thought they could trick us with their holes and their nets, but now we'll show a force they never met!"
The stadium landed next to the village. "Them again?" Ash said to himself and then facehoofed in embarrassment. "Those three sure do never run out of ideas..."
"Alright James, activate the vacuum!" Jessie instructed.
James started entering a long pin number on a control pad. "Why'd we even program it this way!?" The system activated and a tube came out of the stadium. It started sucking in the Ponymon within the village.
"What do we do now?" Melanie asked.
Pikachu started to get sucked in. "Pikachu, no!" Ash called out. Bulbasaur knew his frustration and he let out his vines to pull Pikachu to safety. "Thanks Bulbasaur."
Bulbasaur gave Pikachu back to Ash and then used its Vine Whip attack to shut down the tube, while also managing to not let any Ponymon into the stadium.
"Oh no! Our plan backfired!" Jessie said.
"Relax, I've got a move that they won't forget," James said.
Ash threw Pidgeotto's Ponyball. It opened and Pidgeotto came out. "Okay, use your Whirlwind attack on that tube!" Pidgeotto caused the wind to blow at the tube and make it fly on top of the stadium. Team Rocket looked up to see the tube and as it came down, the stadium exploded launching them into the air.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"
Twinkle!
Bulbasaur nuzzled Ash. "What's up Bulbasaur?" The Bulbasaur looked at an empty Ponyball. "Are you saying you want to come with me?" Bulbasaur nodded.
Melanie gave an excited squee. "Sweet Celestia I can't believe it! Bulbasaur is going out into the world to become even stronger than ever! I just couldn't believe it, a trainer helped save my village and gave Bulbasaur a look at what a good trainer can do. Ash, I'm sure Bulbasaur will become stronger and happier with you and your Ponymon." Ash's Pidgeotto chirped in agreement. "But he has a certain condition... he would like to battle anypony he thinks would be a good trainer to him."
"In that case, let's do it!" Ash replied. He returned Pidgeotto to its Ponyball. Bulbasaur backed up to make some room for where they would battle.
Pikachu and Bulbasaur charged at each other. Bulbasaur used its Vine Whip against Pikachu to try and grab it. It failed the first few times, but hit its target after a few more tries. Bulbasaur then threw Pikachu up and down.
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded. Pikachu's body lit up with electricity and caused the vines to electrocute all the way to the Bulbasaur. The Ponymon fell over, releasing Pikachu. "Ponyball, Go!" Ash then threw his Ponyball at Bulbasaur. It got into the ball with a flash of red light. It shook a few times, but clicked shut. "Gotcha!" Ash picked up the Ponyball.
"Take good care of Bulbasaur Ash," Melanie said to him.
"I will Melanie," he replied. "Take care Melanie."
"You too Ash."
Ash, Misty, and Brock then walked off towards Vermillion City, which is a few days away from them.
Author's Note
You know, I can't believe they stole a stadium as well. I know some of you are thinking that.
Ponymon - Battles Are Magic (Indigo Collection Volume 1)
"You seriously never heard of the Ponymon League? I'll explain it to you," Misty said. "To enter the Ponymon League competition, you'll need eight badges, the first is at Pewter City, a Rock Type gym. The gym battles are usually 2 on 2 or 3 on 3. In official matches, you'll sometimes need to battle with two Ponymon out, but mostly it would usually be one."
Ash smiled and had a competitive feeling swelling up inside him. "I get it now!" he said joyfully.
"I'm glad you understand. Now all you need is two Ponymon." A Caterpie crawled up to them. "Ash look!"
Ash turned to the Caterpie. "I never seen that before." He turned on his Ponydex. "Analyze!" The Ponydex beeped on and shown the info of Caterpie.
"010 - Caterpie is a Bug Type Ponymon. Its short feet are tipped with suction pads which enable it to climb trees at tireless speeds. First one met - Level 6."
Ash got out a Ponyball. "This one should be easy to catch. Ponyball, Go!" He threw his Ponyball at the Caterpie. It bounced off it and opened up turning the Caterpie into red light. The Ponyball closed and hit the ground. It wobbled for a short time, but clicked shut. Ash picked the Ponyball up. "Alright, I caught my first Ponymon!"
Misty smiled. "I think we should split up to cover more ground in this forest. If I catch another Ponymon, I'll bring it to you Ash."
"Thanks Misty," Ash replied before walking into the Viridian Forest.
"Good luck on finding one!" Misty called before walking in another direction.
An hour passed. Ash saw many different Bug Type Ponymon like Metapod, Weedle, and Kakuna along with the common Pidgey every once in a while. Misty didn't find a lot of strong Ponymon or rare sites because the area she was in was overpopulated with Pikachus. Ash soon flew up a tree to get a better look. He saw a Pidgeotto fly down to the ground. He went over to it and his Ponydex gave him info on it.
"017 - Pidgeotto is a Normal and Flying Type Ponymon and is the evolved form of Pidgey. It is very protective of its area and will fiercely peck any intruder. First one met - Level 18."
"This one is a bit harder to catch normally, I better use my Ponymon to battle this," Ash said to himself.
The Ponydex then gave him a helpful tip. "Remember, Flying Types are weak to Electric, Ice, and Rock Types, but are strong against Bug, Grass, Ground, and Ghost Types."
"Then I choose you, Pikachu!" He threw Pikachu's Ponyball and Pikachu came out in a flash of white light that solidified.
"Pikachu!" it cried. Pidgeotto suddenly used Quick Attack on Pikachu which hit.
"That Pidgeotto is fast, but let's see how fast it can really be. Pikachu, Thundershock!" Ash commanded. Pikachu charged up and sent out a lightning bolt at Pidgeotto, weakening and paralyzing it. "I've got you now Pidgeotto!" Ash threw a Ponyball at Pidgeotto. The Ponyball caught it with no problem. It hit the ground and didn't wobble. It clicked, showing that Pidgeotto was caught. Ash cheered at catching his second wild Ponymon.
Pikachu also cheered because it has a new friend. "Pika-Pika, Pikachu!"
"Now all we have to do is try them out in a battle Pikachu," Ash said to his starter.
"Pika!" replied his Pikachu.
"Like that's gonna happen," said a familiar voice.
"We still have a score to settle!" said another.
"I know those two!" Ash said instantly recognizing Jessie and James.
"To protect Equus from devastation. To unite all-- blah, blah, blah, skip the motto."
"What do you two want this time?" Ash said as his Pikachu nodded in agreement.
"We thought back from when you previously defeated us," Jessie said to Ash, "and now we want your Pikachu."
"Forget about it! You can easily find one in this forest!"
"Your Pikachu is stronger than you think," James started explaining. "It was able to defeat Koffing due to its special ability. The static ability allows your Pikachu to paralyze the opponent by it using a Physical Move."
Jessie glared at James. "Stop that, you're making him feel more confident about himself."
"Sorry..." James replied gloomily.
"Ponymon Battle Time! Ekans, go!" Jessie threw her Ponyball.
"Koffing, you two!" James threw his as well. Both opened up and Koffing and Ekans appeared.
"Pidgeotto, I choose you!" Ash threw Pidgeotto's Ponyball. It opened with Pidgeotto feeling much better after battling Pikachu. "I've got a good strategy to beat you two!"
"We have one too," Jessie replied. "Ekans, wrap Pikachu up!" Ekans started heading for Pikachu.
"Pikachu, Quick Attack now!" Pikachu slipped through Ekans and tackled it from the middle of the body. "Nice job Pikachu!"
"We're not through yet, Koffing Smokescreen!" Koffing started emitting smoke at Pikachu and Pidgeotto.
"Pidgeotto, Gust!" Pidgeotto flapped its wings real fast causing the smoke to reverse back at Team Rocket and blow Koffing back to James. "Pikachu, Thundershock!" Pikachu charged up and sent a strong lightning bolt at Team Rocket. Koffing lit up again.
BOOM!
Team Rocket was sent flying out of the Viridian Forest. "How could this happen? Our plan was soaring!" Jessie said.
"Yeah, but we're the ones that are soaring!" James replied. "Do you wanna say it or should I?"
"Let's say it together."
"Oh fine!"
"Looks like, Team Rocket's blasting off again!" they said in unison before disappearing.
Twinkle!
Misty came running to Ash. "Is everything alright Ash?" she asked worried.
Ash nodded. "Everything is fine Misty, why do you ask?"
"I just saw an explosion in the distance and wanted to know if you were hurt." Misty suddenly noticed Ash's Pidgeotto. "Hey, what's with the bird?"
"It's the new Ponymon I caught after you left. Isn't it amazing?"
Misty smiled at him. "Now you're able to compete in gym battles and start collecting the gym badges!"
Ash tried to hold his excitement. "ALRIGHT!" he yelled out in joy.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu called out in a cute way as Pidgeotto gave out a strong battle cry.
"Shall we go to Pewter City for our first gym battle?" Ash asked.
"It's a good place to start," Misty replied. Ash gave out another joy-filled smile and walked ahead.
Up ahead at the exit to the Viridian Forest, Team Rocket plans another sinister plot to steal Pikachu. "Alright," said Jessie. "Our next trick should be to try and dig a hole deep enough so that pegasus would fall in and will have to give us his Ponymon. Of course we need to cover it up as well. Besides, if they're heading to Pewter City they have to go this way."
"I'm way ahead of you Jessie," James replied. "I made a hole and covered it up, but I can't remember where I placed the trap." The two Cohorts walked around until they both felt like they were sinking. "Oh, now I remember! I placed it right below us!" He smiled innocently.
Jessie gave an angry glare at him. "RIGHT BELOW US!?" she yelled. "YOU DO REALIZE THAT WE DON'T HAVE WINGS!"
"We always have our Ponymon to get us out." Jessie and James then fell into their own trap.
"Looks like Team Rocket's Falling Down again!" they said as they fell.

Sorry about the long wait. I finally got time to finish a few tweaks before showing this chapter. If you spot any plot holes, I'll be glad to fix/explain them.
