Harmony has arisen from the ashes of Discord.

Two years after the Discord Containment Event (2 D.C.E.) a committee, proposed by the esteemed archmage Starswirl the Bearded, is accompanied by two daughters of Sol and Andromeda to gestate and lead a diarchy in the region of the new Equestria. Thus this royal union of harmonic proportions shall be delegated by a sovereign constitution that of which shall unite this land for the best interest of their royal subjects.

Celestia and Luna, fair daughters of Sol and Andromeda of the Universal Courtship, hath been chosen by this committee as best fit to guide this land to enlightenment.
